SETCPU and Freeze problem - T-Mobile LG G2x

Does anyone knows how to use SETCPU app for G2x? I read somewhere states that if setting the min at 312 will help/reduce the freeze problem. I downloaded the SETCPU app but has no clue what to do, under menu/devices it does not list G2x phone. Please helps. I'm running EB 1.04, besides the freeze problem, no complains. Thanks much.

Open SetCpu. Click the bottom left key (settings). Click on device selction. Choose Tegra 2. It will check for root. Follow the steps. Next click profiles. Choose Screen Off. Set to max 312, min 216, prority 100.
On the main screen, I use max 1000, min 216.
Those are the settings that have seemed to work the best for me.
Be sure to clink on the "set on boot" option on the main screen. Hope that helps.

[APPS] Best SetCPU Settings

anyone got what they think is the best configuration for SetCPU?
stock configuration works great for me
min cpu = 225 (or something like that)
max cpu = 995 (again, or something like that)
????
Stock settings are:
Min: 245
Max: 998
CPU Governer: On demand
Charging 998/998
Sleep/Standby 499/245
Power < 25% 576/245
i concur about the stock clock settings, they work best for me. 998 high/245 low
i am opting for stock... im going to assume that htc/google did their research to give us the best blend of CPU speeds depending on what the phone is doing and what the battery power is...
if stock settings are 998 mhz why overclock it? can you get more from the processor than that?

you probably can, but you'd just end up burning it out. what you can do is set the low a bit higher than 245. more battery drain will result.
So what are the out of the box settings on the CPU if you dont use setCPU?
Read this thread you will see them
No one has messed with this app?
I have mine set @ stock, but have also enabled a profile for when the phone is asleep. I set it at 300/245. Not really sure if it makes a difference in battery life.
Mine is set to the A1clock speed which is 768max and 245 min.. no lag when swippin and in act1 video player its still smooth..even a droids 550mhz stock speed. Also got it 245max/min when sleep, remember to exclude setcpu if you u wanna see results..

What's a1clock?
I noticed that when using SetCPU and setting the minimum CPU speed to 245mhz, it seems like the CPU doesnt clock down to 245, but instead stays at 998. By setting the minimum to 328, it works.
Where can u see that?

I agree...where are all you guys/gals seeing/getting information like that off of the phone. What are the apps needed to monitor that information.
Also, exactly what is the stock CPU settings?

I noticed something similar.
When setting it to 998/245 and hit refresh 5 or 6 times you'll never see something under 998 at the top.
When setting min to something else than 245 but keeping 998 for max and hitting refresh 5 or 6 times you'll see the min value a few times when refreshing.

where is the difference between on demand, user space and performance and what did you take? I took performace for some weeks and just set it to on demand (and 998/245)
so what settings would be proper to set to see a difference?

[Q] Set Cpu on Root Settings

Hi Guys / Gals
I have set cpu on my rooted tbolt and after looking through the threads and not seeing exactly what im looking for (if there is a thread please point me in the right direction).
I was wondering if you could give me some ideas of what my settings should be. I had done it on my eris while I was rooted and seemed ok but for the tbolt i would like to get it set the best i can.
Right now im have it set at:
On demand
1024 Max / 768 min
Profile
Screen off - 245 max / 245 min
Should I be doing anything else or different?
Thanks
Set min to 245 for regular use and disable perflock by pressing menu->perflock disabler->attempt to disable perflock. Also, this should be in general.

That's pretty low for the screen off profile. Do you have any trouble with the phone waking up, like to answer a call? I'm coming from the OG Droid and I know I had issues answering calls if the profile was set to low.
One last thing, I could not get my profiles to work because I never hit disable Perflock Disable, again coming from OG Droid I did not need to do this. So make sure you have this done so the screen off profile is working.

I read somewhere that if you flash a new rom or something and you forget to unclick "disable perflock" something bad can happen.
Is that true? I know I'll forget...
I did disable perflock when i first set it up, so im good there.
Also i have seen no issue with the phone waking up yet so hopefully it stays that way.
I will try the on demand set to 245.
Im familiar with rooting and set cpu but wanted some backup advice for this since its a new phone and different system/cpu then my eris.
Thank you for all your input guys, appreciate it...

Had perflock disabled when I did my last two flashes, no issues.

One more question: Are you supposed to click "set on boot" in the main setcpu screen as well as the disable perflock screen?
Thanks.

It all depends on the governor you are using. Some governors when waking the phone kick up the clock speed faster, some do not. I always found the battery saver and conservative did this on my Evo 4G and it would sometimes be a good 15 seconds before I could unlock the phone, this phone is different obviously, so we'll have to see what plays nice where, it may not have an issue with any governor.

if you don't you'll have to manually start SetCPU everytime and then disable perflock manually everytime you reboot the phone.
Anyone played around with the Sampling Rate & Up Threshold on this device?
Mine defaults to 50000/95
This is my first HTC phone so I haven't used perflock disabler in setcpu before. I'm watching setcpu right now on my screen go back and forth between 1024 and 245 Mhz ... so what other reason would I need to disable perflock?
I have my SetCPU set to:
- While Charging:
1024min, 1024max, Performance.
- Screen Off:
245min, 368max, On Demand
- Temp > 71C:
245min, 368max, On Demand
- Battery < 15%:
245min, 368max, On Demand
- Temp > 55C:
245min, 768max, On Demand
- Battery < 25%:
245min, 768max, On Demand
- Battery < 101%:
245min, 1024max, On Demand
It surprises me that there is no step between 368 and 768mhz though.
i just have screen off profile 245/245, the rest seem like overkill to me. hell some kernels you dont even need setCPU

Perflock needs to be disabled in order for the stock kernel to under clock properly.
System Panel shows that the stock kernel ramps down to just about nothing while the screen is off. I'm not sure how useful SetCPU is at this point.

I am new to all this rooting phone stuff and wanted to say thanks for the settings.. I have copied these on my newly rooted thunderbolt and the battery is already lasting so much longer. I have been off the charger for 6 hours and I am only at 80 percent of my battery...
Thank you to everyone on this forum for excellent advice...

Don't you have a problem answering phone calls with your screen-off settings that low? I remember on my droid I had a similar profile and the screen would take so long to turn on, I'd miss the call before I could answer it.

After I set it to that low after a few hours I put it up to 368 because yes it was a pain answering calls or just getting the phone to wake up..

Screen Wont Stay On ??? Please help.

I am having a problem with my screen staying on long enough to unlock it. It also happens when in a call and I need to push a number. When I push power to unlock the screen, it only stays on for a fraction of a second then goes out. The bottom row of buttons stays light and will vibrate if i push them but nothing happens. It will do this over and over until finally it lets me unlock the phone. Also when I am on a call and remove the phone from my ear the screen does the same exact thing. Stays on only for a fraction of a second and so on........... This is my third G2X and my first one did this as well. I don't use any kind of lock screen app such as widget locker and when I do try it, it still does the same thing. Anyone have any Ideas???
Are you using SetCPU? I had a similar issue when I set my "screen off profile" in SetCPU to 216 max and 216 min with a priority of 100. I changed it to 312 max 216 min. Now no issues.
Battery seems about the same.

I do, and I use the same profile you mentioned. I am going to switch it now and try that. Thanks for your quick help!!
(Edit) Yes, that seems to be the culprit. I froze SetCPU for now and problem solved. Now I will change the settings to 312-216. Thanks Again
Happy to help. I am new to this android stuff, but I am beginning to figure things out through trial and error.

[Q] set cpu, how to set up?

anybody got any tutorials on getting set cpu to work on the sensation? what do i select at the first boot of set cpu where i have many phone models to choose from as i cant see the sensation
I too would love some ideas on settings
When I used it on the HTC HD2 the recommended settings was to have the scaling set to "On Demand" and the box checked for Set on Boot. max 1000, min 216. The second item you want to do is click on the profiles tab and add Screen Off and set the min and max to 216 each and set scaling to "On Demand". make sure you check the box "Enable". Also make sure you grant permission in SuperUser. These setting work great on the Sensation from what I have seen.
it seems that there is a new OC Deamon on its way:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14638641&postcount=34279
should be default OC-D in AR soon!

SetCPU Explaination

I've tried to understand this app, even paid for it but can't seem to "get it" now that it is running. I set max to 1900 and min to 384. The settings hold on reboot, but screen says max is only 1350. I don't understand the profiles, regardless of which I choose nothing changes. Anyone willing to give me a 101 on this please?

power saving mode (in the notification bar... the stock function from the factory) limits it to 1350 when on. turn it off, and BAM back up to full speed. at least on my phone.
That did it, much THANKS!!!!!
