Stock Clock apk? - Verizon Droid Charge

Does anyone have the stock clock/alarm/timer apk that came with the phone? I kind of liked it.
Thanks!

If you know what the file name is I can post it for you. Odexed or Deodexed?

Here it is odexed, what I did was upload both SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk & SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.odex yet it only shows 1 file. This came from ED1.zip that is posted here on XDA.

Here it is deodexed and I only uploaded SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk from the ED1_Deodexed.zip here on XDA.

I think you are actually asking for the stock clock application, I was also. I pulled it out of ed2 deodexed I believe, it is attached and needs to be installed via CWR. It worked for me.

Perfect! Thank you guys. I really like that app. Timer for when cooking food, alarm, etc all in one.

Once i download this then what? Put on SD card? The .apk file.

You need to have Clockwork Mod Recovery installed. Boot into recovery, choose install zip, choose the zip file and install it.

I meant the samsung weather.apk not the clock.zip. The former file isn't in zip form.

ok so I downloaded the samsung weather/clock.apk file, found it in root explorer, moved it to system/app folder, rebooted, tried to install and no go. Is there a step with the permissions I'm missing? If so what should be checked in the permissions box. It's not really a big deal with this particular file but I'd like to know for future files.

Thanks, stranula for posting the Clock.zip. I was looking for it, too.
Installed through CWR, it opens fine, but the FCs about 5-10 seconds later...doesn't let me Add Alarm. Any ideas? I did try install and uninstall.

put in /system/app (with root explorer as r/w) then long press the apk to get to the menu and go to permissions, check 'group' and 'others' as write too and 'owner' already should be, then reboot and install... that should fix it I think

Also, is anyone aware of a suitable replacement for the stock clock App? Like mentioned above, with the clock, alarm, timer and stopwatch all built in?

You can't install it like a 3rd party app you have to push to sys/app folder. Works on gummy but I can't vouch for humble.

can someone please make it work for any phone non rooted? how hard shall it be for a regular live wallpaper i dont get it.
Don't bother with that wallpaper.
It uses over 50% cpu in system panel monitor, and it raises the power usage from 160 to 240 mA just having it on the screen.
Not to mention it will lag scrolling somewhat as well.

Super easy way!!! Adb
Here's a real simple way I installed the LiveWallpapers.apk for the Nexus S:
Download the LiveWallpapers.apk and move to your SDK TOOLS folder
Backup original LiveWallpapers.apk just in case, or for future reference.
Delete LiveWallpapers.apk from /system/app
CODESIEZ:
adb push LiveWallpapers.apk /sdcard/LiveWallpapers.apk
cat /sdcard/LiveWallpapers.apk > /system/app/LiveWallpapers.apk
adb reboot
BOOM! DONE!

[Mod] System fonts

Hey guys, coming from a fascinate, we had some mods that I used and was trying out some with the Charge. These are system fonts that will show up in the menu in settings/display settings/font style.
We were flashing fonts from this thread.
They would work but we couldn't figure out how to get them to show up in the font style menu.
The credit goes out to thatdudebutch.
He made these apks and flashable zip to install, but when I tried it, my phone soft bricked. Not sure why, the pathway was correct, but just didn't work.
So, I just took out the meta-inf folder rezipped them, so there are about 70 font.apks in it. I can't believe they charge like a dollar for each font when you hit the "get fonts online" button.
To install, unzip the file and move the whole bunch to the data/app folder. They DO NOT go into the system/font folder. You need to be rooted and use a file manager like root explorer. They will show up in the font style menu and you can choose which to apply.
Download the zip here
Again all credit goes to thatdudebutch.

I'm on GB 2.3.4 leak and this is what I did:
1. Go to a file explorer, FE, that will allow you to edit internal phone files I use “Root Explorer,” and that’s what I’ll be referring. REMEMBER TO BE CAREFUL IN THERE YOU COULD MESS UP YOUR PHONE IF YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION!!!!
2. In the FE find the “sdcard” and enter
3. Now find the zip you downloaded, I put mine on the root of my SD so it is easy to find, and LONG PRESS.
4. Extract All…now this may be different if you are using another FE; i.e.,
extract to or something of the sort
5. Go to where the files have been extracted
6. Yeah they are all here….
7. Hit menu and then “Multi-select” now if you are using another FE do what
you have to select all the files you want
8. Now that you are done selecting the files you want, copy it…
9. With the files you just copied, back out of the “sdcard” to the root of the
phone and find “data”
10. Now find “app” and enter
11. Whilst in the “app” folder paste the files you always wanted…your done.
Hope this helped
very nice step by step write up
Thanks man. Worked great for me.

★★ Edit ★★
Use Google music or other music player app! The stock HTC music player disables DSP if you change the EQ mode in the HTC stock music player. Google music gives you a sweet option when pressing menu also quick access to DSP.
*****People are saying this only works with CM sources. It works on sense Roms unless they have CM sources which I doubt they do*****
Thanks.. been looking for a dspmanager that works on cool3d AceS Rom on
HTC desire.
The ones I found tended to need libs placed in various places and would
either not work or send in to a bootloop.
This works straight off, no extras needed
Also integrates fully with Google music 3.0, click menu then the sound effects
button and it gives the dsp settings.. great stuff.
Edit... Oh you already mentioned the integration.. teach me to read before
posting.

Visual mod 4G icon CM9 ICS

Hello I have my G2X running cyanogenmod's ICS ROM, first of all its great and I want to thank all the devs out there that made it possible.
My question is if there is a possibility to get the 4G icon back on the status bar at the top instead of the H icon? If anyone has any input I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Should be an easy fix. Just pull out the .png files associated with 4g, and rename them to the files associated with H. It's really easy, no unzipping or anything. Simple drag and drop.
The images are located in the SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi
The files are named something like stat_sys_data_fully_connected_h
I haven't tried this on ICS and didn't take the time to look through the xml files, but it should still be the same.
Would I be able to do that by plugging my phone into my computer and browsing for the files and replacing them? or would I need to find the icons and place them on my sd card and do it from a file explorer app on the phone?
Easiest way would just be to download the rom to your computer and then use something like winrar to explore the files and pull out the drawable-hdpi folder. Once you do that just change the names around and drag and drop back in to the rom. Flash a way.
Ive tried to unzip the ROM replace the icons and zip it back up but when I try to install it aborts the install in recovery. Any idea why? Sorry to keep at it just want to figure it out lol

So you took the pngs from an apk from a non-ICS rom and put them in the ICS SystemUI.apk?
I haven't ran ICS except for about an hour, but looking through the file it seems that ICS took out the up and down arrows to indicate the sending and receiving of data. So yours in the first picture is messed up b/c the png sizes aren't the same, looking at TarHeelTrigger's uploaded zip, he / she did it right.
On top of the png he uploaded I would take the file stat_sys_data_connected_4g.png and rename it to stat_sys_data_connected_h.png
Damn..yeah I guess thats what happened. Thanks for catching that TarHeelTrigger.
Also, one last question. Were you able to do this from your phone with a file explorer app or did you have to do it from your computer??
I just did it on my laptop with winrar. And I just reversed the "h" with the "4g". So now when you click on the h.PNG it shows a pic of the 4g icon. And when you click on the 4g.PNG it shows a pic of the h icon. And im a guy...just for the record. Lol

Depends on what you like, but it show you the lyrics(where they are actualy singing), it downloads the Album art, it syncs using MotoCast(If you want). I think it's the best Music player for Motorola. It's really good, better than 'Play Music'. But it depends on what you like, I like the lyrics part and that it downloads the Album art.
Edit1: By the way, this is the Stock Motorola music player, just that Motorola didn't include it in the ICS leak for Atrix 2.

Did you set the right permissions and are you on 4.0.4? Because if you are on Gingerbread it won't work.
