XDA Wiki Page for Infuse - Samsung Infuse 4G

Do we have a page like this one and this one for the Infuse yet. It was nice to have all the custom and flash back to stock roms listed in a nice easy to read table. If not how can we get one?

I second this motion. would be much easier for everyone.

I was searching for an xda wiki page for the infuse when I came across this thread. I would really love to have that type of reference page for this phone.

Assistance for improving XDA Wiki

I am interested in volunteering some time into helping to improve the XDA Wiki in order to bring a balance to the FORUM + WIKI equation. Who among this community has time (and is willing) to assist?
In addition to this post, I have brought the issue up with Dave Shaw who is the sysop of the Wiki.
ill spare some time since im always in here answering questions. I was going to ask Mr clown too make some stickies
sent from my not so stock SGS4G

Thanks fknfocused. If we use the Wiki properly, we can avoid having to tax Mr Clown with routine details... And, while stickies in forums are nice, they create a bottleneck since they are so tightly controlled.
I created a group for Galaxy S 4G Owners (http://forum.xda-developers.com/group.php?groupid=421) which you may be interested in. I am simply looking for ways to help us help ourselves better...

let me know what I could do to help, and HOPEFULLY new folks can search and read before creating new threads every 30 seconds.

That is one problem; another is that old-timers post with a "+1" to mean they agree... I see that there is a request outstanding to add an "AGREE" button (like the "THANKS" one)...
The first thing that we need to do is to identify what information needs to be added. In the wiki, there has not been a GS4G page created yet. I've put a stub on my User page... This is one cause for all the noob questions in the fora, I am guessing. Since, at present, searches do not exist on the wiki side.
The things that are specific to the GS4G are the ROM Mods, kernel, and CWM (which, of course, is still beta)...
Announcement: New Wiki Page evolving
Now, when one searches the XDA-Developers Wiki for "Galaxy S 4G," the researcher will be directed to an emerging Wiki page about the SGS4G. Further, if one searches for "Nandroid Backup," the search engine provides a list of links:
General Reference
Specific Reference
Among other results
As stated in my previous postings here, together we can improve XDA-Developers by adding content to the Wiki which balances the content of the Fora (which are abundantly active!).
Again I ask, "Would you please help us in this venture?"
Resurect old thread.

Just putting this back at the top of the 'unread' list... maybe people will start jumping on the 'update the wiki' bandwagon.
I put some general guides on there. But what exactly should go on there?
Edit: Some user updates to this page is a pretty good place to start, I suppose.

Wait we have a WIKI? I've been around for a little while and I didn't know that. Maybe the first step would be to get the news out in a forum layout. Meaning sticky the link. Maybe put it into the subforum listing? Sounds like a great way to put all the resources available here into an easy to use format. I don't know much about how it works but if I can help let me know.

The basic wiki format is easy to learn. Just hit edit and see how the page is actually organized.
I updated the Gingerbread section on the Samsung Galaxy S 4G ROMs wiki page to place sort of a general template. I left out the ones based on leaks as they are pretty outdated.

Dude awesome work on the ROM list. So nice and clean!
Good to know that there has been interest in the SGS4G Wiki. And what a resource it has become!!
Remember, each page that gets added should also be added to the Samsung_Galaxy_S_4G category:
There's also a group for Galaxy S 4G owners...
Also, there is a group for Galaxy S 4G owners... Don't forget to add yourself to that, if interested in collaborating...

[Q] Need Help updating my infuse to 2.3.5

I need some help please with updating my rooted AT&T Infuse 4G. I don't know the steps and can't find a start-finish on how to do it here nor youtube. Can I get some assistance please? I've finally dumped my iPhone 4 for Android.
Maybe wait for it to come out first

Sorry if I sound harsh, but all of the info is easily found in the development section on how to root and install custom roms. For somebody to make a tutorial on the whole process would take more time than you just reading up a bit. Also, things are constantly changing with how things are done in the process, so making a complete tutorial is basically useless in the long run, that's why there aren't any. Also, it's much better for you if you read up on each step of the process, because then you actually know what you're doing, not just blindly following something.
To actually help you out though, look for the "odin back to stock with root and modded 3e" thread, following those directions will get you rooted. After that, follow the instructions in the op of any rom thread, and it will tell you how to install that specific rom.

Pretty much to figure out what's out there, take the time to read through the dev section. But do NOT post there unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure what you are posting is of use to a developer (e.g. a bug report with complete dmesg or logcat as appropriate, or answering a specific data request from a developer.) People who post stupid questions in the Dev forums tend to get torn a new one. Random questions are far more forgivable here in Q&A.
Seriously - just take some time to read threads without doing anything with your phone, simply to learn and "get a feel" for how things work.
As to 2.3.5 - Sorry, the only 2.3.5 available is our partial Cyanogenmod port. It has a number of things broken about it, so it is NOT ready for general use, definitely not someone who posts "how do I install 2.3.5" here.
Rogers Gingerbread (the most mature Gingerbread release for our phones at the moment) is 2.3.3. Some of the ROMs ported with Hellraiser are 2.3.4. These are fairly mature, but all have their issues.
For example, if you want HSDPA+ speeds or HDMI output you're going to have to stick with 2.2.x (e.g. Froyo).
Thx guys. Ive tried looking for things to read and even read wiki in rooting, roms, kernels, cwm, etc.. The list goes on... I am getting nothing for a starter (noob) to the scene of Android.
I am pretty leet when it comes to iphone jailbreak community because ive been in that scene since the iphone launched back in 07'. I have an understanding of bootloaders, basebands and things. Oh, and no I didnt use noob jailbreaking tools.

[Q] New To Android

Hi! I just got my first Android Phone.
The HTC Inspire.
I've been told I could speed up this phone but I'm also curious to know what else I could do with it?
I used to have an iPhone and I would just change the theme and stuff...
So, I suppose my question(s) is/are;
1. How can I speed up my phone?
2. What can I do with my phone?
3. Is there a site where I can browse custom themes for my phone?
4. how do I add custom ringtones/ringback
5. What are some basic things I should get before I start modding my phone and what are some neat basic add-ons out there to make my phone look "neato"
thanks for taking the time for reading this.
Really? It's here in the forum.
Wow...really...wow. do they not still play the noob video about searching when you first sign up for the site?

Swearing is not allowed in the forums. Only warning. Now as far as the other posts. Welcome to XDA and please do read over the rules you agreed to when you joined. You are expected to search for your answers instead of opening a new thread. Before you brick your phone (make it useless and non returnable) Take a few hours and read up on the stickies. Search around some and read some more. what you are doing is nothing like the Iphone, this is real hacking. Not a simple Security override like jailbreaking. If done wrong you could end up with more problems then you can handle.

[Q] Similar NS4G thread?

I've looked high and low and cannot find the NS4G thread that is similar to this one for the Nexus S :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13556812&postcount=2
Am I missing something or is there none? I keep coming back here trying to get and idea of the newest roms and just get confused with the wall of text in the NS4G dev forums.
Pretty sure that's the only one, it even says that most of those are compatible with our 4G's.
PS: All of those aren't really "new" anymore, most of the new ROMS are on page 1&2 of the development section, after that most of the pages have been abandoned . Trust me at first its really confusing to look at every thread but once you flash most of them you find which ones you like and just stick with those few

I couldn't find the original thread, but here is a download link:

I haven't tried it, so knock yourself out.
I Did *not* create this application. As far as I know it should work on any Jellybean ROM.

Edit:
Okay, tried it and it is freaking fast Lol. Better than Chrome from my experience. This also allows Flash on JellyBean which no longer supports it.

did a quick search for it and found out that it was featured on the portal, but the actual thread is not available...
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/navigate-the-web-in-style-with-holoweb-browser/
here's another thread about it and the comments from what I was reading seemed pretty positive, but since the main thread is gone it probably means that the dev is not really into it anymore/not updating it so...I'm currently on naked browser and I can't say enough good things about it.
