Nexus on att

I'm looking for a new phone and att has nothing that is worth buying right now. Will I be able to make calls on a nexus s with my att sim in it. I mostly run my phone on wifi but when I'm out I just want a descent phone.

yes. it'll be compatible with EDGE bands and not 3G.

It has to be approved by the FCC/DOJ/etc. I seriously doubt it'll get approved. Sprint is fighting this. And no, it wouldn't be a stupid idea. It's a good phone, people are over exaggerating about this purchase.
The other alternative if I was to make a phone purchase would be the G2x probably but that phone isn't unlocked so... Nexus S is purely unlocked from the beginning including ability to unlock the bootloader.

There are checkins to the aosp repo that reference an at&t radio (kb2) for the crespo (ns), so there is hope if you have the patience to see if it becomes a reality.

An ATT version is coming very soon from solid rumors, so you really should just wait a few weeks to get the proper working version if it comes out.

Anyone giving up their Inspire for the Infuse?

As most of you know that the Sammy Infuse will be out on the 15th. Who is giving up their Inspire for the Infuse????

I dont "pay" for Samsung products. Junk.

My opinion is sense>touchwiz by a long shot. I don't think the Infuse does enough for me as far as specs go to warrant a change.

how would one go about switching phones, i've read in other threads that people have switch phones from one to another. what are at&ts rules on this? are they paying full price?

I'm sorry, I really want to like Samsung phones again but I can't. My blood pressure can only take but so much. The HTC stays.

Why would you do that to yourself?
HTC is light years ahead of Samsung when it comes to cell phones.. I've kept my inspire STOCK as its ten times better than a hacked Samsung.

If within the 30days of original purchase, then you can do a swap out (buyers remorse period). After 30 days you need to go through the Warranty department - It is very difficult to get a swap for a different Make/model phone - especially when a phone first comes out - They usually don't have the "full kit" available for make/model swap outs..
Your other choices are to pay off contract values, or early upgrade (if they let you).

Same here. I don't think that the Captivate was a bad phone really but no way I am ever going to deal with Samsung again.

X3. Never again with Samsung phones. Advertised features were never implemented (gps), I had multiple hardware issues with multiple handsets, glacial pace of official updates that leave much to be desired upon arrival...no thanks. The only thing it has going for it is Dev support.

The captivate was enough to make me wince at the infuse, but a gs2 would be mighty nice. The sensation looks sensational, but don't know if it will include ATT's 3g bands.

Eh, doesnt matter to me i snatched up my sammmy before this crazyness lol!! I hope the judge gets a hands on opinion with new samsung devices and then he/she can tell for themselves how different they are. I don't hate apple but this lowballing technique really doesnt help their image. Maybe they should create a phone that can actually compete with new android devices like the Evo 3d, now thats competition! In America "Competition means good business."

At&t is supposed to be getting it. But it doesnt look like there is any s2 branded for tmobile, or at least that supports tmobile AWS bands. You can order one unlocked and put your tmboile sim in it, but it will only work for voice and 2g/edge data. Even with that limitation...ive been thinking of buying one anyways, or the single core at&t infuse 4g and just unlock it and put my sim in it and live with the 2G data. Dont think i have the balls to live with 2g tho.
On another note, im guessing Tmobile USA isnt getting it because of the Hercules thats supposed to be released in September which is supposed the be like the s2 on steroids. lol.
I need to buy something new. The fact there are much more powerful phones out there even though i love my gs4g...is killing me softly...lol

The tmobile galaxy and the skyrocket have the same modems buddy. Our tmo phones can (theoretically) access LTE bands with the right modem/sim combo. So in reality, our phones are identical, just tmo phones have a software lock.

Yes i know that slick. But tmobile has not lte. And its disabled on the phone. So once again we have lte you do not. I can get over 60mbps download. You can not.

T-Mobile gs2 and skyrocket are the exact same phones. Arguing over which phone is better makes no sense.

I'm just wondering if the SGS4G is the same as the Telus Galaxy S Fascinate 4G? I have one, and the model is SGS-959P. I had the 3G version, and had a custom rom on it, and loved it, just trying to figure out which roms I can use on this one..

I know, i was just saying the specs are similar, its GSM, front facing cam, 4g, same bands, everything lol I was just saying why would samsung name it Fascinate when they already had a CDMA fascinate with Verizon. And why not give Telus the SGS4G better.
