I'm currently running the android calendar app, and am having a bear of a time getting the calendar to sync with my Outlook client.
For example, I've create an appt. on Outlook, and it successfully will sync to the Google Calendar, and move it over to my phone. When I create one from my phone, it does not sync up to my Outlook client. I've verified that I have two way sync on, yet nothing every makes it to Outlook.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Two Outlook Calendars
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have expanded our company and we are now keeping 2 calendars in our outlook. We have 4smartphone set up and it syncs both of our outlook calendars with no problems.
I am trying to get both of the calendars to sync to my phone..
Is it possible to sync two calendars, from the same outlook program to the phone.
We have set up 2 calendars within the same running version of outlook and we can view them both at the same time side beside etc but they do not seem to sync to the phone.
Anyone got an idea on how to make this work?
THanks

I think it's possible, but you risk duplicating all the entries between the two.
So, what happens is you sync Calendar A, then Calendar B. Then when you sync after that, because your device has only one calendar database, it syncs ALL the appoinments from both A & B to each on your PC.
Hope it made sense, but to do it, it should be just a matter of setting up a connection twice, one for each.
2 Calendars
I understand what you are saying, but i think i might not have been clear.
In Outlook 2007 you can have as many sub-calendars as you want.
We are now using 2,
Calendar 1 syncs with 4smartphone.net and syncs with my phone using 4smartphone.net
Calendar 2, which is a sub calendar syncs with 4smartphone.net just fine, but doesnt sync with my phone.
I guess my question would really be, how to sync a sub calendar and main calendar with my phone.

Sorry, missed the part about using a seperate server. I thought you meant through AS or WMDC, try contacting your server.
server
no its not on a seperate server
i have 1 program of outlook running on my desktop
within outlook i have 2 calendars open
with outlook 2007 you can have as many sub calenders as you want.
all the sub folders sync with my 4smartphone.net account no problems at all
but when i activesync it only takes the main calendar...
i need it to sync the subs also, like
email
you can pick which folders to sync but there is no option for calendars to do teh same.
Maybe if you had two different activesinc .....????? I really don't know but you would have to figure out how to have one activesinc syncronize one calendar and another activesinc sycronize the other but I have no idea how you would set this up. If there is another program out there that can also syncronize then use activesinc for one and the other for the other calendar.
Just thought, but I really don't even know if anything like this would be possible. I might just be right out in left field with this line of thinking.
Alright, how many .pst files do you have for outlook, and check what options you have for syncing the calendar through AS.

I have several calendars, contacts and task folders that I sync. Use pocket mirror professional. I do believe this is what you need. There is a trial demo so give it a shot. A valuable tool for myself.
I have all this in 1 .pst file
just extra sub calendars
Before I got my WinMo phone I had all my email accounts in outlook, along with my contacts and calendar. I consolidated all of my email accounts into my gmail account. Imported all of my contacts and calendar entries.
I downloaded my emails to my phone through an IMAP connection, I sync my calendar entries between the phone and gmail. Is there a way I can sync my contacts from my phone to gmail without going through outlook on my computer?
I want to eliminate the middle man (my computer) in all the syncing so all of my stuff is available through my phone or gmail so that way if i'm at a friends and don't have my phone or computer I can still access information if need be.
With the contacts, in case its not clear enough, I synced all my contacts from outlook to my phone when I got it. I then imported all of my contacts from outlook into gmail. Now I get a call on my phone and then add that number as a new contact. How do I sync that new number into gmail without going through outlook?
http://www.google.dk/search?source=...ontacts+pocketpc&btnG=Google-søgning&meta=lr=
tried looking here?
I was searching syncing gmail contacts windows mobile instead of pocketpc and gsync wasn't coming up on my search. Ill have to give it a try later. OGG Sync says it does contacts but the only thing I can find on it is calendar.
Thanks for the help
Gsync doesn't sync contacts from the phone to google. Somebody has to be doing this?
Try nuevasync.com
plexo.com + rememberthemilk.com + mesh.com = complete outlook replacement
Is paid service ($50/yr) but is by far the best I've ever used. Will sync your contacts and calendar with device/outlook/google/yahoo etc. I also use rememberthemilk to sync taks online, and Live Mesh for files and photos. Using Linux as a main OS forces you to find all the best-of-breed non-MS solutions, it's entirely possible to ditch outlook and still have 100% functionality replaced with online cloud services.
Hi,
Apologies if Im posting in the wrong section or asking something that's been answered before.
I'm new to the Android scene with an Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) and I want to sync contacts, calenders and notes stored in Outlook 2003 by connecting to my PC via USB. What tools are there out there that works like Active Sync?
Thanks.
Sync Outlook with Android
yes i was looking for that to...someone?
Thks
i think the best you can hope for is to export your contacts from outlook, and import them into your gmail account.
you can use google calender sync (search google) this will sync your outlook calender and gmail calender.
I'm not familiar with that phone, but it comes with 2.1 right? You can use the 'email' app to sync up with your exchange server. I don't think it will sync notes, but it can sync up contacts, email, and appointments.
You could also try touchdown from the market. http://www.appbrain.com/app/exchange-for-android-2-x/com.nitrodesk.droid20.nitroid
It costs $20 after the trial, but works really well and will sync up everything you're looking for.
Thanks for the replies so far.
I don't want to sync with gmail, as sometimes I work offline, therefore need sync directly with Outlook. Also don't use Exchange, this is standard alone Outlook.
I've read HTC have a similar tool (HTC Sync ?) for Active Sync. Will this work on a San Francisco, which runs Android 2.1?
You need to downoal the program MyPhoneExplorer and connect your phone to USB, then follow the instuctions. To my mind this is the best free soft avaliable out there.
I want to share my calendar from Outlook to automatically OTA sync to my htc DS.
With my iPhone, this wasn't a problem, but nowhere in the calendar application, or the accounts and synchronisation tab in settings to be found.
Does anyone know anything about this?
If you're coming from MS Outlook there are two extremely useful tools made by Google to get you started:
1) Google App Migration for MS Outlook http://tools.google.com/dlpage/outlookmigration
Which will migrate your MS Outlook contacts/calendar and emails to your new google account.
2) Google calendar sync http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955
Which will enable you to continue to sync your MS Outlook and google calendars should you choose, or can simply be used to migrate your MS Outlook calendar to google calendar. It performs three types of sync (2-way, 1-way : Google to outlook and 1-way Outlook to Google (great for the initial migration)) so you can continue to use both calendars if you wish.
There are dozens of ways to do this and many third party, I'm sure that everyone has a way thats suits them that they'll recommend, this is mine.
Basically you sync your OUTLOOK with Google using Google calendar sync and then Sync your phone to Google.
Ok, we all know Google likes everyone to use their email programs but in reality there are millions of people using Outlook with email and has a ton of contacts in there. I've been searching all over the place and I cannot find a way to sync my Outlook contacts / calendar with this tablet. Is Google really playing this dirty, trying to make it impossible for people to do this? One of the reasons I liked Android was because of the freedom, but if you don't use "Google" apps you may have a big headache. I can very easily sync all my Outlook email/contacts/calendar easily with the Apple ipad/iphone. Even Apple realizes people use Microsoft Office/Outlook.
Try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.psencik.simple&hl=en
Or:
Calendar: http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955
Contacts: "If you Export your Contacts CSV file in DOS format instead of Windows, your Google Contacts will sync like a dream." -every website.
As stated above, what I did was export a csv from outlook, and load that into my gmail. Contacts synced. The next thing I had to do was get gmails app "Google Calendar Sync" that runs on my computer. It periodically updates (both ways) my outlook and gmail calendars so they sync
I used Google Calendar Sync before having access to an Android device, which took over the calendar maintenance. I have no clue, however, if it still supports the current versions of both Outlook and Google Calendar. Back in the days it worked beautifully though.
