Help.. Please?? May have Bricked... - G Tablet General

Um... what the heck happened, now whenever i try and turn on my gtab, it goes straight into clockworkmod saying that it is Booting recovery kernel image, when i am not holding down the power button and volume +!!!!!!!!!!! i am freaking out and really am in need of some guidance, please, i hope i didnt brick it... I wanted to see if i could get my battery stat to show 100% when it charged so i went into CWM and wiped battery stats... along with wiping the cache partition.... please... i hope i didnt brick it....
Sorry guys... just a little scared... what should i do, with a little more reading i realized its only partially bricked and that i should just NVFlash back to the stock rom, is this correct?

yes.........

I'm starting to get annoyed at people using "nvflash" as the answer to everything. I've soft bricked my device more than a few times and have managed to save the day without nvflash. And when I say soft brick, I mean everything from boot loop to not being able to boot beyond the birds screen to not being to go into cwm. In fact, I've dealt with all of these things without having to nvflash at all.
Wiping out the cache was your mistake. Have you tried reflashing a rom?

nvflash is a solid and relatively easy to use solution. I prefer to spend 20 minutes setting it up rather than 2 hours trying to figure out to un-brick without nvflash. I don't understand the nvflash haters at all. If you do regular backups in cwm then it's always easy to nvflash back to stock, load cwm, and restore a working backup.
Sounds like something that could be solved outside of nvflash, but if you've got backups and want to be done with the troubleshooting then just go for it.

Once properly set up, NVFlash is a simple as flashing a ROM. And it can be done regardless of bootloaders. This is the beauty of the G-Tablet.

I had recently used NVFlash to flash back to one of the stock images so i could flash BoS onto my tablet, so how should i attempt to recover from this? NVFlash? or another method, without NVFlash?

I guess go for nvflash. It is the easiest solution.

NVFLASH SUCKS!! Please help!

So i have used nvflash before and have ran into this issue before and eventually luck my way out of the problem but this time it aint happening. I am nv flashing the original nvflash_gtablet_2010110500 and it is successful but then it restarts and shows the gtable screen then when tapNtap shows up the screen starts to flash between the tapNtap logo and a black screen then eventually goes black. i flashed and reflashed 5-6 times and then tried the gtab 3588 apx and that didnt work and tried the first one and still no dice.
WHAT THE HELL!!!!
please someone help me .. i beg you!
After it goes black, have you tried holding down the "power" button to make sure it is off. Then restarting. Does anything happen.
Am I right that you are trying to get back to 2967 stock so you can do something else?
Rev
I figured it out and its really stupid. It was one line i didnt read. apperently NVflash DOES NOT format /data and well that was the issue. So i had to use NVflash and replace the recovery.img with the CWM.img and then boot into CWM, and wipe /data and then reflash 3588 via apx and it worked. stupid nv flash
You used nvlfash to fix a device. You didn't read the directions correctly and something went wrong. And you blame the program? Take a closer look at the user.
Agree with you, here people just jump to do advanced stuff to their tablets without reading and without knowing what the hell is a Rom and when things go wrong they blame any one besides themselves.
I nvflash my tablet, jumped from stock to vegan, tnt, and tnt 5 , flashing cwm, I don't remember how many times, and the only times I was in trouble was because I didn't read properly the warnings, but always I was able to fix it.
If you don't fully understand what you are doing, don't do it until you understand it.

[Q] Flashing G-Tablet back to stock, ( or anything else for that matter)

I just joined the site, so it is NOT allowing me to post in any area that is directly related to what I need answered. I flashed to various versions of TnT, managed to brick my tab, and ran the NvFlash to get it back to stock, at which point it boots up, but I get a Force Close on pretty much everything, including "system" so I cannot even do a wipe or anything else. The problem is, once I reboot, it will not come back up, and just gives me a black screen, but if I hold down volume and power it will allow me to get back to the screen where I can run nvflash again, but for some reason, I cannot manage to get it to reboot in order to install any other rom. any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You already have nvflash experience, so I would suggest this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974422
You erase, then do the regular nvflash again. If you need clockworkmod, here's a neat trick -- in the 1105 bekit image, take the bekit .8 recovery.img (which is clockworkmod) and then copy it over to your 1105 foider. Then, rename part9.img to something else and then recovery.img to part9.img. Then re-flash.
What that does is add cwm from the start. So after the nvflash, you can reboot right into recovery and wipe your user data.
Thanks for this, man (and the nine billion other things you and the collective devs do). I borked the tablet by attempting to do something that VeganGinger experimental didn't like. Not sure what, but even after an NVflash, it wasn't happy booting. Doing this enabled me to get clockwork on and wipe data, which in turn let me get it booting. Now to go back to TNTLite and stop playing with things labeled experimental.

Bootloader/Recovery, hardware buttons?

I loaded a rom with apparent bugs and now I'm stuck in a contious boot over and over. How do I get to the recovery image to restore my latest nandroid backup? What buttons do I hold, obviously not volume down and power...

Did you install clockwork mod with rom manager or NVFlash?
If you installed it through NVflash, clockwork mod is permanently on your phone by holding Volume Down + Power....if your not getting there....you didnt.....
If you used Rom Manager, you fake-flashed and won't be able to get there. The only way is by using NVFlash to install clockwork and restoring your nandroid. Go here
OR if you just wanna go back to stock, factory reset by holding both volume keys and power then releasing power when the screen is on....Good luck!

Yea I used NVFlash and just hit the root button, then it asked to install something since I didn't have it, I agreed, then it loaded again and was complete. Superuser was added to my apps and that's it. I think I have a brick lol, oh well, I honestly hated not having an led for notifications anyway. I got a weird screen a few mins ago though and it was stuck for like an hour. It said "updating s/w, please wait". Then went away and now it won't go past the LG screen...
Any ideas or anyone want to buy it for like 130?

The way you described NVFlash seems like you didn't actually use NVFlash. There is no root button involved with NVFlash.
To root the phone, you probably used superoneclickroot.
To install clockworkmod recovery you could have installed it through rom manager or installed it manually using NVFlash, which is a command line utility (unless you used the one click clockwork recovery found in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847).
Can you clear these things up so we can further help.
I'll also buy it for 130 if you don't want to deal with it.
Yea you're right, I forgot, sorry finals have fogged my mind the last few days. I used superoneclick for sure and flashed the recovery through ROM manager. Will the NVFlash help get to somewhere to flash by backup or hell, even the stock rom? I just got back to my computer at home and am gonna try some things.. I'll report back..
Edit: Ok I think I found the problem. I have Eagleblood 1.02 ROM and I loaded a Kernel from a p990 (Optimus 2x) and NOT the p999 (G2x). When I plug my phone in it says LGE P990 now. So is there any fixing this? I can plug it in and it'll popo up with the notification window for the safe remove and mass storage but I still can't access the recovery image??
You should definitely flash clockworkmod recovery via NVFlash. The easiest way would be to follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
It provides an easy to use user interface to NVFlash to flash clockworkmod recovery. After that, I guess you could flash CM7 nightly and hopefully it'll load the approriate kernel. I'm new to android so I'm not sure if ROMs contain the kernel too, but I'm guessing it is because looking at the CM7 source, they seem to include the kernel. Then after that you can flash the stock nandroid found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048274
Note: you could possibly just flash the stock nandroid instead of CM7 and it could still work out, but I'm not sure.
Sweet NVFlash fixed it, I have my recovery image again, flashed my backup and am right where I left it, Thanks man!
Im also new to rooting and flashing.....I flashed using rommanager and everything was fine till I flashed cyanogen...now I can't get to rcocery screen and I have no computer for the next few days....don't get me wrong ibwant to keep this rom-2.3.4 but it doesn't come with Google apps which i have installed on my SD but can't flash.....someonehelp
Lol, I'm nowhere near new at rooting/flashing but this phone is the first to ever NOT have a back up plan..
You'll have to do exactly what I did. Honestly, NO ONE should flash anything without the REAL recovery image and NOT through ROM manager, otherwise in this case your without a phone until you can get to a computer.
Use the NVFlash method posted above, it takes a couple minutes and then its permanent. Afterwards, if you ever flash something buggy or broken, you can always fall back on vol down and power..

[Q] Help needed URGENTLY

I tried searching the threads in regards to my problem but could not find an exact similar issue.
OK, here's my problem. Running Clockworkmod recovery with the new touchscreen ability, and all was running fine while in ICS 4.04. Its the Xoom mz604 wifi only model. I then installed the WINGRAY rom (Yes, BEFORE I read about the loss of ability to read from the SD port. So, now, I can still boot into recovery, but it obviously wont mount my sd card, and I can't uninstall the pre sd error fixed wingray rom, so all it will do is stay in the motorola screen ad infinitim. I have tried full factory reset, everything, but nothing works. I cant \even do a restore from my backups, because they are on my SD card.
Please, PLEASE, all you brilliant people out there HAVE to have heard this happening, and hopefully have a solution for me.
You can email me direct if it makes communication easier for you at [email protected].
Any suggestions whatsoever would be VERY much appreciated, and I am thankful for your time and knowledge.
Jason:crying:
Can you flash back using Odin?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Flash Rogue Recovery, reboot into recovery, and then you should be able to flash things from your sd card.
Worst case: use LAIOT and the images from http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/ to reset back to a stock image, put the image you want to flash in the right place, and go from there.
Edit:
Just realized that you won't be able to get Rogue recovery where you need it, you can however fastboot flash the old CWM which should work as well for most things.
Thanks
Veilshatter;
thanks for the advice but that would do not good as I have to be able to boot first to use.\
airesch;
attempting your suggestion through the SDK. That seems to be the only way I could get around this. I will let you know.
Thanks.
Really Screwed now.... I think.
OK, after flashing the CWM through fastboot, which seemed to work fine, now once I reboot, it still endless cycles on the moto logo, and if I try to UP+Power, all it shows is Starting RSD mode 3, and I can't do anything. Can't boot with DOWN+Power either.....
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

[Q] Phone perhaps hard bricked?

I was attempting to flash the new Glorious Overdose rom onto my phone, and when I hit reboot, it won't leave the boot screen. It is perpetually on the boot screen. I worried because I didn't think I could get ODIN to work, but then I used AyoTeddy's fool proof method to get it into download mode. Now, from there, I attempted to use ODIN, but, it failed over and over. Pic is attached.
Is there anything I can do from here? I'm not confident about doing the soldering for that unbrickable mod, but I really like my phone and generally the contents, so....?
Now, when I was flashing, I thought I did everything right. I cleared cache, cleared data, then cleared dalvik. After that, I made sure that the system was unmount/mount (I was using the red CWM, although I recall in the past that my phone had the orange one?), and then I proceeded to flash .zip file.
Please help. :'C
ehhhh
I just bought a new one, but I'd still like to avoid the previous pitfall with the new one (since I don't know what I did wrong?), so if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.
Thank you.
