I posted this in the EVO forum already to no avail, but here is what is happening.
I have an HTC Evo 4G running stable CM7. When I try to save an image thru tapatalk, it says saved successfully, but then I cannot find it on my SD Card. It doesn't show up in the "tapatalk_download" folder when I look thru root explorer and it does not show up in Gallery either. Here is what I have tried so far to fix this and none have worked:
1. Clear application data for Tapatalk
2. Uninstall, cache and dalvick cache wipe, reinstall Tapatalk
3. Change download folder thru Tapatalk settings to another folder
4. Uninstall, delete "tapatalk_download" folder, complete wipe, reflash rom, reinstall Tapatalk
5. Restore backup from a few weeks ago when everything was working
None of these solved the problem. It is like Tapatalk is saving the image, but just not saving it to the correct folder. After I try to save, I go in to Gallery and there is a blank folder called "sdcard" that wasn't there before the save from Tapatalk, but there is nothing in the folder, only a blank picture.....
I am stumped.....Let me know if you guys have any ideas.
No help?

Bump I have this issue with mikirom.

all my apps started foce closing and now I cant do a data wipe from ether the CWM or the settings menu. What do I do now?
Try 2-3 reboots, I had similar problems plus no wifi or 3g.
Try going into CWM and hitting 'fix permissions'
I tried both of those idea with little success. The problem seems to center around the youtube cash. When I try to wipe data the error days that it failed to wipe data /data / com.android.YouTube.cash????? Something like that. I tried deleting it with root explorer but it comes back

Also this all started when the doom crashed while watching youtube

so I found the exact file that is keeping me from doing a data wipe. it is: /data/data/com.google.android.youtube/cashe-1555452648
Things I have tried:
*fix permisions in CWM
*data wipe (factory reset) in both the settings menu and CWM
*format data in CWM
*wipe cashe partition in CWM
*reflash rom in CWM
*reflash CWM it self
*I have tried to delete the cashe folder using root explorer (it says its deleted but on a refresh it comes back
*I have tried changing the permissions using root explorer and then deleting (or formatting data) didn't work
*I tried renaming the file and then formatting data and so on
I have tried all of these multiple times in multiple combinations and I am running out of ideas
Have you tried uninstalling the YouTube app?
Also, "all of the sudden"... Seriously?
I did, well kind of. I renamed it with root explorer, after everything crashed like crazy i re flashed rom and tried deleting it with root explorer, same result. I tried to remove it wil Adb but it wouldn't work at all

well since I couldn't think of any other way, I flashed back to stock 3.0 and then updated to rooted 3.2 again
My phone is already rooted and currently on infused v2.2.2. So far flashing from rom to rom or installing apps from apps, there are so many folder in phone.
Is there anyway to do a clean flash where all those unnecessary folder not be in the phone? Even if i do a wipe/reset, I still see other folder from different rom i flashed or other apps folder that i no long needed. I hope you understand what i'm trying to say.
thx
You must manually delete those folders between flashing. Dont worry, it wont harm anything, just be sure to not delete anything you need. For instance, i always delete all the folders except the DCIM one for my photos and my titanium.backup folder. All other needed folders will be created again when you flash the new rom.

You can always mount the SD card to your computer and format it that way as well. Just remember what slapshot30 said about backing up items you will want to keep though.
I go through all those folders in root explorer, and and if there's nothing in them and the name doesn't seem important (like gnotes) I end up deleting them.

When using a file browser like ES file explorer or Root Browser, How does one know which folders and files are on which Partition.. For example which ones survive a factory reset like in twrp and which ones are gone. Is all lost except mnt/sdcard?
No, not all is lost. But you can't see the partitions mounting points from regular file manager. Execute "mount" without parameters in a terminal shell.
And "factory reset" wipes /data & /cache.
I'm trying to figure out why a friend of mine flashed a rom and lost all his pictures and contacts, I understand the contacts but I'm pretty sure pictures should remain...Mine do...I think... With dropbox and google restore ect ect I don't know what remains and what is auto backed/restored .:silly:

He wiped the internal sd

Some of the ICS one-click leaks wiped the internal SD card when flashed.
All I did was plug it into my pc, copy a music album into the music folder, unplug it, and the whole sd card folder vanishes. I tried going into the TWRP recovery and then trying to look for the files using the file manager but no, everything is gone. My phone settings are alright though.
Now I'm a beginner to Android, does the TWRP folder that was located in the sd card folder contain important files? That folder is gone too. Basically I want to know, apart from the media and photos lost, are there any important files there that is essential to my rooted phone now or when I need to unroot/flash custom ROM/etc?

Interesting....... The TWRP folder most likely doesn't contain anything important otherwise you wouldn't be able to get into your custom recovery. The only thing that the TWRP folder contains is if you check "show hidden files" you will see a .twrps file. If you need to unroot and flash the stock firmware it will not be necessary. I would reflash the latest TWRP onto the phone just to be sure, you just never know about technology.

Thanks. Will reflashing TWRP wipe the data and settings from my phone?

No this only replaces the recovery. The only way you can wipe your entire sd card is by going into TWRP---> advanced wipe and selecting internal storage or by going to "format data" and typing yes. This erases everything.
I find it strangely odd that just copying music from the phone to the computer took everything off the SD card I have never heard of this before. Don't be offended when I say this but you didn't select cut instead of copy did you? It will be ok though.
Good luck. While you might consider yourself a beginner, you have gotten this far so I wouldn't consider you that, far above what most owners of their phones are. If it turns on they are happy but we here at XDA don't think that is good enough.

Thanks. Actually I copied an album INTO the phone storage. I did not cut or delete anything from the phone. Guess it's one of the mysteries of the universe why it happened.

recently i've made a terrible mistake as I accidentally wiped my phone. And by wipe, I mean wiped my data from TWRP recovery (I just want to clear cache and dalvik but somehow I accidentally cleared cache, dalvik, AND data)
I can see all my apps are gone and all my settings have been resetted to default. But I can see (via ES explorer) my old pics and other data that I saved to my memory are still there. Despite all my photos still there, the gallery app (default gallery app from OPO) won't show a single photo (before this accident, it can show all my pics there). And when I connected my phone to my PC, I can't see my old data like those folder photos nor any of my previously saved data. But I can see and I can open my data from ES explorer and Airdroid.
Beside that, I can no longer change the long press menu action (settings > buttons > long press action). When I tap the option, nothing happenned. I can changed it before but I can't change it now.
is any of you experiencing/ed this ? do I have to factory reset again or do I have to do a full re-flash to fix this problem ?

Maybe do a factory reset , you may want to save your files in storage to your PC in case u might need them again later. Factory resetting I believe will wipe your storage.

I have the same problem
I was on Cyanogen mod, and flashed Cyanogen OS recently.
I don't have a problem with the gallery, but tap the long press menu button does nothing, and there are no other options for customising the hardware capacitive buttons
