... more like 1000!
Anyway guys, just got my invite and am reaaaaaaaaaally excited to upload my 3k songs into the cloud.
i've let itt run all day today and 800 are up, but it is saying its skipped 1000 songs? and the error message says unsupported format, but theyre all standard mp3s?
Help please
no offense but ppl like u are going to make this music cloud of ours paid when it comes out due to serious abuse 3,000 songs are u serious like do u even listen to all that stuff
Abuse? The limit is 20k? And since when do google charge for services (apart from buying more space eg picassa). The more music I upload the more info they know about me which suits their business model...
So yeah...no

Huh? 3000 songs is a rather modest collection. Your comment is silly.

What formats are supported? I converted my collection to wma a couple of years back cuz I couldn't hear the difference and it took up a third of the space.

I EASILY listen to 3000 of my songs uploaded. Mine collection uploaded is near the 5000 mark, still growing, and the stuff that I don't listen to regularly my girlfriend does.
Out of my 5245 songs so far, it says two were skipped (DRM issues) and the rest there were errors uplaoding. You're not the only one wondering why theres a couple issues, lol.
I'm going to go through with audacity or something and redo the files and see if that helps at all.
Now what's the catch on Google's end here is my question. If each member that was invited uploads their 20k songs, they have to have plans for something with the music... no? lol

lol, I've got 11K uploaded so far, another 5K to go.
FWIW, once you've got that many songs uploaded, the website really starts to slow down
edit: I've come across a strange bug though. Since it's uploading so many songs, over the past few days I've gotten in the habit of checking the recently uploaded list but for some reason the same song is always at the top. It's a good song and I like it, I gave it a thumbs up but.. why is it always at the very top of the recent tracks?

Ok it seems i was a bit premature in assuming my problems had been fixed.
Checjked today and i have even MORE skipped songs now lol... 1600 to be exact. After a bit of googling i came across this thread:
Google Apps thread
It seems that this is indeed a bug with the Music Manager, and a temporary fix seems to be to uninstall and install the Manager again.
I have not tried it yet but will when this batch of songs has finished uploading.
EDIT
reinstalling worked

EDIT - UPDATE

I have finally finished uploading my music, had to reinstall aroudn 5 times to avoid the shipped traps problem... so yeah defo needs a bit of work google :x

Has anyone gotten a version of amazon mp3 to work on 2.1 roms? I know I know... just download off bit torrent. Sorry, but I only downloaded mp3s back in the day because it was easier than itunes bull****. However amazon mp3 made it even easier than wating for a seed. I don't mind paying for my music as long as its easy. I listen to Pandora in the car/on the go but a few songs I hear on Pandora I'd like to purchase on the go and amazon mp3 just made It so easy.
I tried pulling the apk from my 1.5 Rom but it won't install on damage control.

check out iMusic in the market, even comes with a widget
like limewire on your hero
havent had any issues personally, though bad reports have been given. alot of people got upset when the dev changed the name the imusic neo or some crap, idk, ive used the same .apk since my g1...anyway, the ones who purchased the full version lost it and were angry (understandable)
for the most part they have everything ive looked for, even the "The Work Song", which surprised me
"i got aaaaaalllll (aallll...) the ****in work i need...

Live Tv
Get TV Live TV from the market. Live channels include, MSNBC,ESPN, FOX NEWS, GOLF CHANNEL, CNN, CARTOON NETWORK, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, NBC, ETC. I don't know how he's doing it, but I have MOBITV on my Fuze and AT&T charged me 9.99 a month for some of these same channels. All you need is Froyo 2.2 + Adobe 10.1. Another note, his streams are better ahead of TV MSNBC, or a few seconds behind. However, the quality is much better than paid app MOTV, and video sound is in perfect sync with picture. I wish i could rate it 10 stars for MSNBC alone.
Interesting mind posting a link? Through http://www.cyrket.com/ maybe?
What's the name of the app. I couldn't find it on the market.
eh if he's talking about http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.d3fc0n.android.livetv/
then it sucks..
Doesn't this just load through the browser?

Don't know what problem you are having with this app, but it works perfectly for me. You already posted that it sucks. That's your experience not mine. I can tell you the streams are way better quality then mobitv app, and most importantly it's free. Instead of being 2 minutes behind regular TV it's only a few seconds. Show's exactly what is being shown on TV. No video bull****. Live stream and puts it all in one place, so you don't have to go searching for these channels. I have the app on my desktop. One click to open and then go to channel I want to view, few seconds later it loads the stream. Watched some of Golf tournament on ESPN and looking at show on MSNBC now. What you want a TV guide with time of shows? It's free and it does what it needs to.

Oh so that is the app? It does suck. It seem like it just loads from a browser. The video isn't displaying very well as it scrolls. It very well may be better then mobitv as I never used it if so that is a shame. It doesn't show live streaming for me I checked my tv and compared. The same show wasn't even showing. (maybe it's because of the location I am at? Chicago by the way.) But I guess for a free app it's alright..

i wouldnt say the app sucks cause it does work! However its a lil rough around the edges.
Yeah thanks for the suggestion. It is a little rough but definitely FREE and worthy of the post. It also looks like this app got released THIS WEEK! Some people were just born to hate. Yep. Credit goes to the Dev. I'm just putting everyone on. I've been watching it on WIFI and it is cool for me. Don't know why anyone wouldn't give it 5 stars, cause it's free. Live channels all in one place, easy to access as shortcut on home screen. and "FREE". Once again it's FREE. LOL. Check out 1TVPC too if the economy isn't breaking you. It's affordable, unlike Jetflicks TV, it has live streams, movies on demand, sports, boxing etc.
I gota agree with the op an this one. I dont know how this app is working for everyone else but its workin pretty good for me. It does seems like its loadin from the browser tho an is alil choppy at times but other than that it works great

AGREE!-Its a little rough on the UI side but overall the function is there and thats what counts. If many of you bothered to read the devs description, its his FIRST EVER APP--cut him some slack...i get all local OTA channels 100%fine and some even 2-3secs earlier than my HAVA box (exact same as SLING but better IMO). My only complaint is low volume, and i would be more than willing to pay $5-SO LONG as he keeps adding channels and removing expired links/dead channels. ALSO my friend, you are the dev if im not mistaken but you are for some odd reason telling people to search for TV LIVE!??Why? If its called Live TV!?? I still cannot find a single app called exactly "TV LIVE"--maybe im talking about a completely different app, but this one is made by a Miguntu labs-i cant imagine someone not knowing the name of their own app tho--nwo im wondering....

I just started using it (US). It seems pretty cool.
Android and iPhone apps are now up in the respective markets.
I used a proxy and signed up. But dont see the point, since the free account only lets you sync music from your PC. To listen to the streaming service, you need the 10 dollar per month package.

After all, $ 10 is too high a price. Available only 15 million songs. You can listen anywhere, anytime and can listen many different devices (mobile, pc etc.) I would rather buy the $ 10 album containing 12 tracks... No. no no .. I should have to think first what to say.
American network operators the pricing and quality is ****ed up. But many believe it is a lesser evil than $ 10 per month.
Spotify will not stay online

Known bug in Spotify on Honeycomb. Solution is easy but harsh: never make playlists offline available.
As long as you stream everything - you're okay. If you make a playlist offline available, it'll sync the first time and after that it'll keep saying it's disconnected.
And it's definitely worth the 10 bucks, I've been paying it for months and months (in Europe) and it saved me a ****load of money or time. If I had to buy all the music I've listened from Spotify, I'd had to sell my TF to pay the bills. Maybe even twice...
If your musictaste is pretty "conservative", not always looking for new stuff and getting addicted to it - it might indeed not be worth the money.
It's totaly worth it to have a paid subscription, i pay for premium
I use spotify all the time (at home, party's, cell phone etc)
The majority of the music i listen to is on spotify and i don't listen to comecial radio music

I still can't get it work. Every time I choose a song, I get an info bar with no info and an OK box to click. It reads my TF on my network, but it won't stream any music. I had no online playlists (I deleted everything just to make sure).
It works well on my PC--a lot of great music that seems to stream more quickly than Google Music.

Hey, here is one of the most used Apps ever. Pandora, but with no annoying Ads. It's the latest, and greatest. The OP is no longer on XDA. Also (like most .apks I host) can only be found on bad sites. Here's a 100% clean, download of the app.
http://www.4shared.com/android/dSbUYBRJ/Pandora_1515_Unlocked_Rydah805.html
Bugs: Unlimited Skipping can work, but causes issues. After 6 skips, there's.....
Hitting thumbs down won't skip a song
Waiting for a blank Ad to finish
Music might not just play.
Fixes: Just don't skip to many songs. Enjoy your Mix.
I'm surprised this thread hasn't garnered more attention. This is absolutely fantastic!

Been running since he posted it, I listen to Pandora probably 40 hours a week, and it works great! Only a few hangups (once in a blue moon) where it plays an ad but it won't play the sound or anything, it just goes through it like it's muted, still fine by me... Happens like 1 time every 6 weeks
Hi. After months of searching and no luck I finally found what caused my battery drain. I had strong overheating near the camera so I decided to search a bit on that. Turned out MicroSD problem. I had ~20.000 files on it (and search indexing was doing all this crap). People reported overheating gone after removing the SD. I deleted the files and voila - no more overheating and drain for me. Its back to the normal battery life when I bought it. It used to drain 5% every 10 minutes before. Many of you probably know this but I thought it may help someone.
Hmm.. What size sd did you have installed? What's your rig? What manufacturer, sd?
I have experienced the over heating as well.. Right underneath the camera lens. And yes, more noticeable when playing games.. (that possibly have data stored on sd)
Note 3, rooted, stock ROM
Galaxy gear 1, rooted, null_rom, stock launcher
.werd.
Yes, that happens. It's been mentioned in the quite numerous battery threads around here repeatedly.
- You may have one or more corrupt files. Hook the card up to a computer (via a cardreader or slot) and do a global search for 0kb files on it. Delete all 0kb media files (ignore the playlists and .nomedia.)
- Drop a .nomedia file in every folder you don't need to see in your gallery, Stock video or Stock musicplayer. This tells mediascanner to skip that folder. It applies to all subfolders as well, so dropping one in your ebook folder is enough to exclude all folders within that folder. (so anything containing stored maps, documents, textfiles, apks, appfiles (you can safely srop one in the Android folder, if Android hasn't already done so.), books, etc canbe safely excluded. If you find you need the folder shown somewhere after all, just delete the file.)
You can copy the ones already existing in several folders on the phone (Android creates them.). May need to enable hidden files first.
For instance, I have one folder containing a total of 24.238 files in 1.439 folders. These are all saved websites for documentation when I don't have internet access. Before I dropped a .nomedia file in my 'Websites' folder, my battery drained within a mere few hours, and the phone always ran hot. Dropped a .nomedia file in there, problem solved. Indexingservice skips the folder entirely, and I can access it via the filemanager (ES in my case, but stock works too.)
The Stock players rely on the Indexingservice. If you use an alternative music player, you can also add one to your music library. (Keep in mind this might disable the album arts. On N7 it works fine, haven't tested the rest.) Quickpic can be set to show folders hidden by a .nomedia file.
Videoplayers use Indexingservice, so adding a .nomedia file to the video folders excludes them from the videoplayers. You can still launch the video from your filemanager though. No issue there.
Oh, and ringtones, alarms and notifications require indexingservice, so don't add a nomedia file there.
worked for me

Helped me, so I thank you. Almost pulled my hair out, battery was halved for a few months and tried numerous things to rectify to no avail.Pulled memory card out last night, and I just got ten percent drain with screen constantly on for an hour straight!
Oh well, don't try calling Samsung support for a new battery. They had me waiting for 3 weeks when they told me they'd send one out, only when I rang them the fifth time a manager said that's not what they do and told me he would do nothing to rectify their mistake while being a complete a$$ to me.
Cheers for the heads up anyway buddy, appreciate it :good::good:

There's plenty of advantages. And just like everything with Android, it needs proper managing. If you want a use-and-don't-think phone, buy an iPhone.
A large point is that I actually have something to watch and listen to and read during my 7.5 hour daily commute of which 5 hours are a zone where I have no mobile signal whatsoever (or G, if I'm very lucky.) Renders a cloud or streaming service rather useless, wouldn't you say? And I shall not even bother to explain to you the concept of borders and roaming charges.
Not to mention that if my phone dies, at least all my personal data is safely stored where I can get to it.
I've listed exactly what to do to prevent this issue in my post a few posts up. It's a simply copy-paste approach that takes about a minute in total.
Or do you complain about the pointlessness of TV's, too? Seeing as how you need to spend a minute connecting it and selecting the proper channels upon purchase....
My brand was Samsung 32GB, I believe Class 6 or 8. Rom always stock and rooted. I always ignored the fact that it may be SD problem. I'm so relieved this problem is gone. Strong overheating where I can't touch it was existing almost every time even on simple youtube videos watching. I never had this issue with my previous devices. Just try unplugging the SD card for few days and drain/charge battery and see for yourself. If it works then great.

Or have you ever seen an iPhone user firing at another iPhone user and asking him to go-buy-an-android if he needs clarification about anything? No. They ain't that insecure like many of the android users we have. Case in point, as seen above.
Moreover, I cannot comment on your TV comment since I don't watch TV much. I prefer YouTubing
yes this is true...I had been facing this issue since the days of Galaxy S2, only solution is to not use the sdcard...formatting the card works but only for a few days, or until the time you start filling it up...creating a .nomedia file in every directory doesn't seem to work for me!
anybody else got it to work?

I'm not quite sure how you got insecure from that.... I own 5 smartphones, I happily use my Note 3 without a shred of doubt every day. And if I was insecure about Android/Samsung, I wouldn't be working for them to help others fix and get the most out of their device.
(Also, maybe men feel the need to be insecure about something they own and see as a reflection of themselves (it seems to be a reoccuring theme with that gender), but I'm not a bloke. I don't see my phone as the metaphorical representation of a phallus I do not have.)
Kindly stop projecting your own feelings onto my comments.
Youtube is utterly useless when it comes to TV shows though. (Admittedly, so is telly these days)

By poking your nose in and suggesting to buy an iPhone, I can clearly see how secure are you with your device. You wanna fix something? Fix yourself dear. That will help you in long run.
And by the way, sorry to burst your little harlequin romance bubble with you "TV". There is more to the world than an iPhone or a TV. So stop BS-ing. Think you don't want a phone.. You want a life. So why not get one?!!

Well, considering I've mentioned twice what the solution is without having to throw away your SDcard, and I've yet to recieve any response as such, this matter appeared to be closed.

No, it won't. The Media Scanner is Android, Not Touchwiz.
You need to tell it where not to search. It's that simple.
Hi all,
I too have spent weeks looking for a solution.
I froze Sfinder with Titanium and now my Galaxy is OK!
