I uploaded a free version of my app, Epic Audio Visualizer, in hopes of gaining some feed back. It is similar to the Google audio visualizers, Spectrum and Waveform, but much more customizable allowing for interesting effects and styles.
I hope you all like and look forward to any comments and/or suggestions you may have!

Is this a standalone app or a live wallpaper? I've been looking for a standalone visualizer!
It is a Live Wallpaper. I will look into adding a stand alone option, shouldn't be too much more coding.
Thanks for the heads-up. I bought the full version yesterday. It works great with the CM7 (stock) music player, but not with PowerAmp Pro. Any plans to have it support 3rd party music players?

Thanks for the purchase! Your issue is completely puzzling because that's what I use on my phone, CM7 and PowerAMP Pro, and it works without a problem. I may have to do some digging.

Still looking into why it wouldn't visualize using PowerAmp Pro. On my phone it works for both stock and PowerAmp player. As for the standalone app, it will take a bit longer as I will have to rewrite a good amount of code in hopes of making changes easier in the future.
Nice live wallpaper. Did you use any libraries? What IDE did you use?
Won't this great visualizer go open source? Thanx.

Thanks, it's all Android API using Eclipse. I may open source it, but have not decided as of yet. It's still a very early project and needs a lot of optimizing and cleaning.
Ok, I understand. Thanks for the answer. Wish you every success.

Here is the examples that I used to learn and code my wallpapers
For audio visualization, only works in 2.3+

Basics of live wallpapers

Advanced live wallpapers

Hope that helps.
In Honor of, Sam Caplat, for putting me on the front page, thanks!, I have updated Epic Audio Visualizer Lite with Grid! This visualizer was previously Paid users only and displays your music onto a grid of dancing colors! Hope you all enjoy!
For me the wallpaper does not work as intended at all. It does not change according to the music but the lines are moving. I used the stock music player and my phone is a Samsung I-5700 Spica. Some other visualizer apps I found in the browser market said the phone was incompatible (didn't say in what way). Are there anything that the phone need that don't is default in the system? Some hardware (like ARM architecture)?
What version of Android does your phone have at the moment?
Updated Paid:

Can't purchase the paid version for Motorola Xoom. Marketplace says its incompatible with my device
The free version is cool, but I want the extra visualizations... Please?
I will look into this, not sure why Lite works and Paid doesn't, they should be almost identical. I will update here, possible the whole app if needed, soon as I figure out what the problem is.
Edit: After a quick glance at the supported devices list, the Paid version supports an identical list. I am not sure why you cannot install the Paid version. =/
Edit 2: Ok give it another go. I changed the one different setting to match the Lite version. I hope that fixes it for you.

Cool, works now. Thanks for the update.
Glad it worked, enjoy =)
Update coming out very soon, focused mainly on Pattern visualizer.

same here. it's awesome
I liked enough free version and decided to buy, and so far there is only one issue that I see:
- when exiting any app (or at least any full screen app, which is 99% of them on phone), wallpaper animation always have very visible 'jump'
And by 'jump' i mean one position of planet/stars/background is drawn and then immediately it change to other which is slightly but very visibly shifted, comparable for example to tilt of 5mm (ie similar to tilting bottom of phone 5mm down).
BTW, seeing as I exit from those apps with 'back' button on my Galaxy S3, phone is probably 'tilted' some fraction of mm, but not nearly as much as picture change.
Also, this 'jump' happens even if phone is firmly on table.
*EDIT*
- when I reduced 'gyro sensitivity', it reduced size of 'jumping', but its still visible.
- 'hardware' back button on my SGS3 has tactile feedback (small vibration), and I thought that may have something to do with jumping, but just pressing back on main screen does not produce jump (even while it produce tactile feedback)
- when I enter 'APPS' page (which is transparent so wallpaper is visible and moving behind), and use back button, 'jump' does NOT occur
- also if i pull down notification screen (which on my 4.1 version completely cover screen and wallpaper is not visible), and pull it back without using back button, 'jump' again does not occur
- but for practically all apps (including integrated apps like messanger, contacts, settings...) , when I return to main screen I can see animation 'jump'
- it even happens if I exit using home button, or if I exit using menu button, and then press exit
- 'freeze' time (time between exiting app/initial wallpaper draw, and 'jump' (after which it continues to move smoothly) is not so small - about 0.5s

Thank you for the feedback. There might be delay on older phones as the resources are retrieved and the OpenGL surface is recreated on a resume but I'm surprised that it's causing a delay on the S3. My N7 has no noticeable delay.

I've tried your beta version with Android 4.0 tab (Toshiba AT270). Everything works cool except crop & stretch. App's got crash on those..
hope this would help you to fix the bugs....
Really nice, will be downloading this soon.
Nice and useful app. I'm testing beta version right now.
One advice - never, absolutety NEVER turn on "Force GPU Rendering" in Android settings - it'll try to filter those pixels, which looks... well, let say "ugly"
Great app CraZyDecigames!
Currently trying out the beta and will reply.
Need any translation for free in Portuguese?
Would it be possible to set the animation as live wallpaper?
Nice, but...
Nice app! beta worked fine on all my devices, although without the ability to save with the beta app I found it to be useless to test. It did operate without errors but cannot say it would be flawless at saving images created within the app on any of my devices.

It would be very nice to have a translation in Portuguese!
I think this option will be exercised in the future. Could be as
separate live wallpaper application with the Let's 8 bit Art core.

Hi SimplicityApks!
You have created a very good app. It contains all the features that i think a good graph program should need.
I am looking forward to the release day of the pro version!
How much will the pro Version be costing?
Good Job!
Very cool app!
Hi developer,
first to say: great app.
It has a huge bunch of functions and it's clearly structured. It also fits the designguidelines of google .
I just have a few wishes for future features:
-I would love different colors for different graphes,
-and a list of the graphes put in before calculating where you can set the color.
Thats all!
So it's a bit work left, but I think you can release it in near future.
A last question: what will it cost?
Greetings, nexster

I am currently planning the customizeable colors for the graphs, just need to make a decision on the right color picker...
Will be in version 1.1 for sure!
The version I released here will also be free in the Play Store, I thought about 2$ for the pro version, though that is not final.
Thanks for the feedback and testing!
Really cool app. :good:
I've found some issues though:
In the value table, why is there a limit of shown values?
If you add one function to the function list and swype it away, the Gmail-like overlay to revert that is on top of the Cancel button (at least on my Nexus 4).
I made the app crash!
Show the graph for a function. Then open the analysis of the function and press the Pro features button and then the Pro Version Button. (Doesn't crash when I select fullscreen and then Pro Version.)
You could use a ShareActionProvider instead of the static share icon in the ActionBar.
What's about other colors for the graphs?
Oh, and I would prefer a Holo FunctionKeyboard.

Thanks for testing!
The limit for the values is to avoid huge lists and will be adjustable in the Pro version.
The overlay, ya, I gotta look at the lib again to see if I can reposition it.
Thanks for finding that bug, will have a look at that as well.
I was trying to implement the ShareActionProvider a while ago, but I did not yet have time to find a solution since I need a callback from it to generate the image! I remember our discussion on this one, we thought about extending the share action provider ...
And it's true, I need to find out how to properly theme the KeyboardView.

Ah, you're right. We had that talk.
You could also have a look at the code and create a library for a ShareActionProvider which has that callback.
Whatever solution you find, please notify me.
One more bug I've found: I entered "rt9x" and then the app froze and didn't do anything. I even had to reboot my phone once because often the system UI freazes as well for some time.
(I know it has to be "rt9(x)".)
Thanks for your response. Despite all the criticism (which is meant to be constructive), it's a great app. Keep it up. :good:

Fixed the two other bugs, too (the one where the whole system crashed was an infinite loop which added "\n" to a String xD... I guess out of memory then.
For the toast overlapping the cancel button I haven't got a solution since I'm using the SwipeToDismissUndoList in a dialog. One solution would be to put it over the title, but that's not nice either, like this:

Hm, you could create an issue on the Github issue tracker for that. Maybe someone else has an idea.
However, when I click on Tutorial in the overflow menu, nothing happens. I guess that there should be some ShowcaseView overlays, right?

Thanks.
I just tested the tutorial.
However, after choosing tutorial once, every time I return to the app (e.g. via the built-in Android task switcher or by launching it from the app drawer), the tutorial is shown now. It starts every time.
After deleting the app data, it works fine again (until I press on tutorial :laugh.
Another thing: What's about hiding the keyboard when the tutorial is shown?
I can't read the text with the keyboard shown in the background.

got me on that one
Actually, if you go to the grid, the tutorial will continue and then never show up again... But ya, I guess I need to dismiss it on exiting xD. And I thought I had the FunctionKeyboard hide, but that was just the standard Android keyboard. Gonna fix that now, thanks.

It's ok, but I find it to similar to one of the other players. Animations are neat, but I think that you should make a completely different design of the app, while still keeping the material look and animations.
Thanks a lot for your feedback marrecar. Will surely look into your suggestion and update our design.
Please rate the app.
How do I get Viper4Android to work with this? I have tried Normal and Compatible mode and rebooted each try but still no effect. What in-app settings do I have to enable/didable? Which v4a mode or driver works? If for some reason it isn't compatible, then there's your feedback lol?

Thanks for your feedback.*
To use Viper4Android, you should disable the equalizer option of the app. To do so - go to "Settings" - "Audio Settings" category and then select "Equalizer" and disable it.
Please rate the app

So some observations, the ads are a bit aggressive in the UI so I went ahead and purchased the app. Like said it's using the source code of another app that has been abandoned which is fine because I liked that music player.
So lockscreen controls work but it appears that the album art doesn't show and there is no track info on the lockscreen.
Navigation in the now playing screen is a bit rough, there's some stutter when sliding to the next track so hopefully that can be smoothed out. I also tried changing the animation style for next track but selecting different options appears to have no bearing as nothing changes.
Is there a way to make the status bar transparent instead shaded as I prefer the clean look showing the full album art.
Also I don't care for the slide out left navigation drawer, much prefer the sliding columns style when searching through albums, artists, etc.
That's it so far, hopefully you get farther with this app than the previous project did and I will continue to support.
Thank you for supporting so fast is something that very few do, with respect to the application is very good fresh something but did not taste that no Spanish language besides some suggestions as witged of music is way too easy that is something that any developer go so you do not make that mistake besides the name is not good could change has much black color and some other mistake, so let pictures to see, greetings and good luck
sorry my english:highfive:
@chrisrj28 and @chalofito - Thanks for your suggestions and support.
Will definitely work on making this app more user friendly and bug free.
Enjoy music !
Build updated
New build uploaded to playstore.
Changelogs:
# Bottom navigation bar UI issue occuring in some devices fixed.
# Cross button is now visible in song queue drawer in light theme mode.
# Track change animation now works.
# Circular album art view.
# Only blurred widget view is enabled for now. Will fix bugs related to widgets and update the build soon.
# Miscellaneous bug fixes.
I am working on making it more and more bug free.
Please report any bugs found. I will try to resolve it asap.:good:
good to see an app that picked up on Jams music player design and not another crappy Apollo copy :good:
haven't countered any bugs yet but it is quite hard to scroll because the right navigation drawer (queue list) keeps sliding out when doing so. maybe move it to only be able to swipe out on the now playing screen?
Nice App :good:
One question, two suggestions:
How can I access/enable the sorting by album artists?
Could you make the round artist/album art optional? For me it doesn't look aesthetic and I would like to have "normal" view.
When the navigation drawer is opened and I accidential click its header (the one with the colored picture background) it does select the underlying folder/section instead of doing nothing. Try clicking on the "Music Library" text by yourself. Could you fix this?
If you need help for translation, you might create an account at Ackuna, a free online translation community. I would then volunteer for translating your app to German language.
Thanks orville87 for the suggestions.

Hi XDA!
I'm Jolan, the developer of Magical Location Clock (MLC - mlc.jolanrensen.nl), an app I've been working on for about a year now.
If you know Tasker you might know me from my ADB Shell and Hotword Plugins, or maybe my Widget Screensaver app (all can be found at my signature).
I think it's time to release MLC!
What is MLC?
MLC is a widget for your homescreen that allows you to see easily and stylishly where your family or friends are, just like the Weasley clock from Harry Potter! The widgets are themed and the themes can be chosen from the default themes or from user themes that can be shared directly or published to themes.mlc.jolanrensen.nl.
More information about the app can be found at the website mlc.jolanrensen.nl, or at the Play Store description which I attached below.
The app is free to use, but if you want access to the huge theme editor, have more than one group at a time or be able to add people to a group using an API, you will need the full version that can be unlocked using a one-time in-app purchase.
Video:
Let's add some more screenshots:
To try it out, download the beta using the Google Play Store or XDA Labs.
Let me know what you think! For questions, just leave them below or email me at [email protected]. Please report any bugs, battery drain, tips etc. you find as I can then improve the app for everyone!
Code:
[Widget] Magical Location Clock (MLC)
The best addition to your home screen for the whole family!
With Magical Location Clock you can easily and in style see where your friends or the members of your family are. Using fully animated widgets you too can get that magical feeling when your loved once get home safely or at work.
Free and full version:
• Create or join a group
• Add as many locations as you like
• Let your friends or family join!
• Add as many widgets as you like
• The widgets animate when someone changes location or when tapped
• Choose from the default themes or from user created themes (as shared or from https://themes.mlc.jolanrensen.nl)
• When creating a group, exact locations of people on the map can be turned off for better privacy
• No ads at the moment!
• Android Q ready
Full version only:
• Have more than one group at a time
• Create and share your own themes using the extensive theme editor where you can customize:
- The background
- The location text (colors, size, custom font etc)
- The people- and group-picture size, frames (colors, size, custom SVGs)
- The hands (colors, size, custom SVGs)
- The shadows
• Add people to a group using an API (aka people with a GPS logging app on an iPhone or other device)
• Wear OS tile/app
• Support the dev :)
I've been working on this app by myself since May 2018 while studying at university. It's been hundreds if not thousands of hours of work and I've learned an immense amount in the process. There probably still are bugs in the app and things that can be improved, so please do not hesitate to tell me what you think!
This app works well with Widget Screensaver made by myself. With it you can display the clocks in a screensaver!
It also works with Wearable Widgets. Using this app you can display a clock on your smartwatch too!

Now could you also make the navbar transparent like what you did with widget screensaver? I know it'd take a bit more time because there are more color variations behind the nav buttons but I think it would be a great aesthetic improvement over the current tinted navbar.

Hi everyone!
I just found out emojis work really well with Magical Location Clock! They appear in the clock, just like any other text and can be used in addition to or as a replacement for location names. Remember that location names are split on the space that's closest to the middle.
When you're on vacation it's of course fun to add your camping as a location to MLC because you won't be home for a while anyways! With the app you can always add, remove or edit locations and everyone in the group will see!
