Droid X Google Talk for GB - Droid X Themes and Apps

I have seen a couple posts with people stating they have successfully installed Google Talk with AV on their Droid X, but I have seen more say they haven't been successful. I can't seem to find a thread where the steps & files needed for successful installation have been clearly listed.
I am running rooted GB version 596. If someone knows how to install Google Talk with AV properly for Droid X I would appreciate the instructions.
Thanks in Advance.

I got Google Talk 2 way video to work and here is how. I followed jm77's method from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13895326&highlight=Droid+x#post13895326 post #399
1) Installed gapps-gb-20110503-signed
2) talk1.3.nowifi.v2-signed
In that order, but it wouldn't install just by installing a zip through clockwork recovery. I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13408651&postcount=183
Audio & Video both 2 way worked very well but I noticed that Gmail would do a Force Close every time I tried to open it.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks
Nice Post! I might have to try this...

Deleted some Google Talk files on rooted G1 and messed it up!

I want to start off by first appologizing for posting this in the wrong area (if I did), as I understand it's important to place the post in as specific as a topic as possible.
Two days ago I went in and deleted a few .apk files that had to do with GTalk, not realizing all those apps talk to each other to do certain tasks. I have not been able to download from the market OR sign into Google Talk since.
I found a forum last night where somebody had the exact same problem. Some guy posted a link to the files to put back on the phone. But since I can't download apps, I can't get a file manager to install the .apk files I downloaded onto my PC. I've tried using SDK and it is SUPER confusing. Please help as I am so frusterated I want to cry and pull my hair out.
Thanks in advance.
I am using a windows 7 laptop
Rooted G1 with CyanogenMod
adb is not difficult, if you are rooted would be more simpler.
try this

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I have ran into a similar problem on a US a854 milestone, I just recovered my phone from a bad experience trying to flash to 2.2, anyway i rooted again this evening and used root explorer to delete bloatware, unfortunately i uninstalled gtalk(google talk) and now I cant download from market. I need to find a way to get gtalk back. I do not have a back up and if someone can tell me how to create a nandroid back up I would be greatly appreciative, but I need to get gtalk back first
thanks in advance

UPDATE, I found some talk.apk files on this forum and got me squared away.....for the record there here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773272

Motoactv Rooting walkthrough paypal DONATION

Im trying to get someone to help walkme through the rooting process of a motoactv watch that I received for christmas. The device was recently rooted, and it appears that the process is fairely easy. I have limited rooting experience with android phones, and have jailbroken a few iphones, but have never had to mess with command lines, or adb. If someone is willing to walkme through the process on here I will be more than willing to make a modest paypal donation to them (we can discuss payment terms.)
I have posted the link website below for the rooting procedure. Also note that I am only interested in doing this as long as the core fitness apps and capabilities of the device arent completly destroyed, as this was a gift from my girlfriend and it needs to function in a fitness capacity. Im thinking that they shouldnt be affected, and that I probably will only gain the ability to delete them, but I could be wrong. I am also trying to learn from this expereince and am willing to pay if necessary to do so. Thanks so much, and hope everyone has a happy new year.

I have one on order. I thought the process was pretty straightforward. It is easier on a Mac or Linux as there are scripts that use zergrush already available. If you are unfamiliar with using the command line I would recommend finding someone else to root it for you.
I am rooting mine for Google music and adding watch faces but I am kind of tickled by the idea of watching NetFlix on a wristwatch.

Hi
I already rooted the MotoACTv that I have. But I am having problems installing the Google APPS zip file downloaded from the cynagoen web site. Can some one explain how to install this so I can get the Market up and running on the watch. I already installed other apps like pandora and they work. Only thing is that I installed this with adb install command and not the via the market. Would love to have the market working. Please help.

If you downloaded the gapps from cyanogenmod as you should have, you need to adb push everything that isn't an apk.
There are a few libraries that need to be installed. adb push filename /file/location/name is the way to do this. The locations match the unzipped folder names.

I also need step by step directions please, bricked my watch
I tried to follow the directions and I finally got the phone to root. Then when applying the new interface it must have not liked the commands I was trying to use.
Can anyone give step by step directions. It took me about 2 hours to figure out what applications I needed and how to use them so I am sure others would benefit from this.
The directions on that original post was way too vague for us noobs

Oh, no... Are you sure your watch is bricked? That really is awful... I thought mine was for a bit after I used Super One Click to root it, but I was able to recover it by holding Start + Power for 10-15 seconds then plugging it in.
It seems zergRush is safer -- I ended up with root after that, but a couple of others in the #motoactv channel on freenode tried it and ended up with the phone seemingly dead (though a start+power off like above fixed it) and without root.
I posted this in the other thread but I am impatient and figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here too so,

Okay so last night I attempted to root my motoactv but my adb for some reason say it cannot load the root.img, I had the same problem where it's couldn't load the recovery.img for my photon when attempting to apply CWM or twerp recovery. Fastboot devices definitely sees both my devices (no I didn't do them are same time, and the files needed are in the same file location as instructed) and I can even Fastboot reboot and have that work. Any ideas or suggestions?? Any help would be appreciated.

MOTOACTV update without Windows
I'd like to root my MOTOACTV. My clock is running version 4.53.50. To root I had to update at least to version 4.55.78. I found the file delta-ota-Blur_Version.4.53.50-4.55.78.Motorola-F100.Retail.en.US.zip but I've no idea how to flash that to my clock without Windows.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
This is my first post here so please don't hit me if I am doing something wrong.

KD1StockODIN.tar File?

KD1StockODIN.tar File?
Hi guys, I recently soft bricked my sidekick4G (because I'm new to the sidekick and stupidly didn't do enough research) after installing a ROM.
The Easy One-Click Root program rooted my phone, but for some reason wouldn't pop up any super user notifications, so I went into super user and checked the allow all; that seemed to work for installing my third party apps like Root Explorer.
So I remember I installed the red CWM or w.e it's called (Voodoo?) and that work fine, I can still enter it, I can also enter the orange CWM by applying the "sdcard:update.zip" (Which I thought to be forbidden).
So here I am now getting a robotic woman's voice on every boot saying "Convert data partition, system not available"
I know I need to use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1186954 (The "[ROM][ODIN] Stock ODEXED T839UVKG2 (Sidekick 4G) Firmware [7/26/11]" thread to go into download mode and install ODIN,
SO.... My problem is that I cannot find the KD1StockODIN.tar file ANYWHERE, all megaupload websites blocked it, and risky torrents have already pissed me off enough.
If any of you have this file, can you Please, PLEASE attach it or upload it, or find a working link for me? I would really, really appreciate it.
Or
If there are any other alternatives to fix the dilemma I'm in, please let me know, as I am new to the Sidekick 4G.
Thank You Guys! And I can promise some THANKS for you too if you help me out =)

Finally Found a thread with everything I needed, drivers, flash program; it was so simple. I realizes I made the mistake of having anti-virus on, with quaranteened most rooting programs. I also didn't have the right drivers, or flash player installed.
This Thread has it all, and much thanks to the thread maker JiN1337

[Q] Root Klu 7033

So I went bargain hunting and found this Klu 7033 ICS tablet. It's a decent tablet, I got it for my son. Contrary to some of the icons on the packaging, most of the g-apps don't come on the device and that includes Play Store. And since there is no Play Store, I have no way to put these g-apps on it. I was reading that it is possible to install the g-apps as the .zip from the bootloader. I have tried all the common button combinations to get into the bootloader but nothing ever happens; it simply boots into ICS. I have tried putting ROM Manager on it and reboot that way, but every time I try to install one of the downloaded .apk files it always says the package is corrupt.
So my end goal here is to install the g-apps on this tablet. If I don't have to root it I don't need to, but at this point in time that seems like the only option. I have tried to install the .apk for various versions of the Play Store and it always crashes as soon as its UI comes up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Okay, got ROM Manager installed manually. Unfortunately I don't have a clockworkmod recovery that will work with it. I can't Flash Clockworkmod Recovery and can't Reboot into Recovery. When I backup, it says it does but I don't see any backups. ADB Devices lists nothing attached.

I found all my answers here:

Okay, can't post a link. The resolution is over on androidForums.com. Search for "curtis klu lt7033" in the "General Tablet Talk" area. I got my Klu rooted and g-apps installed based on this thread.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and the media drivers installed simply by plugging in the tablet to my computer. The drivers needed when USB debugging is installed are at the link I mentioned earlier in this thread. I can't post links yet or else I would send you directly there.
Can't find the thread on androidforums, can anyone post the link to that thread? Or post the root/gapps info here.

Here is the link. If you are trying to root from the beginning then start at post #104 on the 3rd page (although you are more than welcome to start at page one to get a feel for the process...and yes, it IS a process). Also, remember that when they say that you need to turn USB Mass Storage off, that it needs to be in the "Media Storage" setting. That caused me the biggest headache! HTH!

thanks i will try this out. My brother in law bought one over today but it is the LT7052 4.0.3 hopefully this works.
Use the step by step guide its more up to date.
Copy and paste the following into your search bar...
A Step by Step Guide to getting Amazon Appstore, & Google Play on a Curtis Klu LT7033 Android forums
(the guide will come up as the 1st or 2nd result using google, yahoo, or bing)
While it is true that post 104 listed above is where the original guide was born,
The step by step represents all the lessons learned to date.
The LT7052 requires a different ADB (android debug bridge) driver for your PC than the LT7033
There is a different guide at Android forums for the LT7052 entitled...
Getting Amazon Appstore & Google Play on Klu LT7052 Step by Step
See ya there;

Are the Klu 7033 and the klu 7035 the same in any way?

[Q] PwnMyMoto Cert Issues & "Bulit-in App" Question

Hi all,
New to the forums and to android dev... your help and patience much appreciated. Made (hopefully) good faith effort to track down an answer, but no luck yet...
2 (related?) questions on Motorola Ultra root (4.4 KitKat):
On the adb side, having issues with signature/certs.
Using original mymoto apk from jcase's post...
I initially get INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES
I create key, run jarsign and zipalign per Android dev instructions (referred there from suggestions on stackoverflow).
This appears to successfully add signature, but then on install I just get parse failed inconsistent certs.
Most of the suggestions I've seen for inconsistent certs revolve around uninstalling the app... but since I haven't successfully installed to begin with, not sure if that applies. (Indeed, running pm list packages in adb shell, I don't see anything that looks like PwnMyMoto to uninstall).
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Secondly, I also tried to download apk direct to phone from web, and the message on install (attempt) was rather interesting:
"PwnMyMoto
Do you want to install an update to this built-in application? Your existing data will not be..." etc.
(When attempt to install, simply comes back: "App not installed").
The 'built-in application' part seemed strange to me, and I haven't found reference to it in forums. Assume this has something to do with the fact that PwnMyMoto takes over existing recovery boot function of the native system? Is this message unique / does it imply any additional workaround to uninstall existing packages?
(Saw the X has moved from PwnMyMoto to RockMyMoto... but haven't seen any similar updates on the Ultra side. If I've missed it please let me know).
Thanks for any help!
shen
I'm new here as well, with an unrooted verizon ultra 4.4. From what I can see now, the certificate issue is because the PwnMyMoto apk is relying on a previously rooted phone. It appears there is still a bounty for a stock root procedure.
Hopefully someone more experienced can chime in as if this is indeed the state of things.

Ah, okay. That puts a few things I read in other posts into place. Unfortunate. Was reading up on SlapMyMoto as a solution for those who already took the OTA for 4.4, but I think it's a similar situation... you can only perform the downgrade to 4.2 required to load SlapMyMoto if you already have a rooted device (from what I can tell). Not a solution for a stock 4.4.
