Sorry, i'm tired I meant factory reset!
mine did this the other day with the talking tom cat and all i did was to turn it off then back on again
this has got to be a bug because mine keeps doing it now ,even after a factory reset
had this issue too! was watching my movie on sensation, then perhaps i did too many rotation of the video, so much so that the sound was totally gone. no ringtone, music, alarm or whatsoever. Had to shutdown my phone to bring back the sound. weird thing is the htc sense captured this as a bug/error and requested me to send a log to them.

Had this issue, all I did was put the earphone Jack in and out of the connecter. Then the sound return. Strange if u ask me.

Is the speaker volume VERY low or is it just my phone? I have youtube videos turned all the way up, notifications turned all the way up, etc., and it's still not that loud.
^^^Agreed, I noticed this as well. Its not a big issue, though.

Good to know it's not just my phone then. I can live with it.
Me too. I was thinking out was just my phone.
There is already a post about this FYI.....Go to: Settings>Call>Enable "Hearing Aids"
This will help tremendously. Enjoy.
at even the highest setting, its low on my phone. but what i've found out is that the speaker is capable of a very loud sound, but is locked by the software for the highest it can go. what i am talking about is , like for google navigation, turn the volume to the highest setting, and you can see that voice guidance is extremely loud. but for all other things on the phone, its low. so a custom rom would have to increase this setting for everything to be loud, not just voice guidance on google navigation.
It's definitely not a good speaker, but check out an app called Equalizer to boost your levels.
Try volume+ from the market.
I've not got a sensation but I have increased the volume of my lg o2x hugely.

Unfortunately volume+ crashes on the Sensation.
So strange you are all claiming speaker quality is bad. Mine it's great. Very loud and clear/crisp.. Music, videos, calls. Everything. Especially with the SRS enhancement checked.

Where do I check SRS enhancement?

SRS is great on the HTC apps but doesn't affect Sirius or other media apps.
Well even my youtube videos and speaker phone conversations are loud and crisp on the speaker. No problems with low volume here.

For listening to music on my bt headset I use the equalizer in poweramp to boost the volume, works well for me. For voice calls I find the volume and sound quality to be amazing.

I have nothing about enabling hearing aids, or is this just a joke?
Id like to know why my phones speaker is louder than when I plug external speakers in. This isn't too clever seen as the volume also seens very low on mine. :/

Hi, yes equalizer seems to help with the speaker by cranking everything up. Still nothing like the results you can get from volume plus.
On the plus side the speaker seems to be better than previous htc devices. I have always been put off by the poor speaker. Motorola speakers I have to have below max!
I will email volume+ developer and see if he or she will update.

Yes, it currently doesn't work on the Sensation and I'm not entirely sure why. I'm currently looking into why it force closes and will then release a bug fix.
Thanks.

I think these guys are misunderstanding what we are saying...not youtube or apps..We mean like Ringtone and text message notification sounds are not loud...My phone was on my hip while i was driving and i missed 3 calls.

Hi Guys,
I have been noticing this pattern so thought I shoudl ask here.
I have the Talking Tom (paid version installed). While it worked fine on my DHD, on the sensation, I open the app and try to play with it, after a few seconds the sound disappear.
Even closing the app and pressing the volume rocker it shows media volume and not the phone volume. And the phone is kind of muted, no ring sound, no notification sound.. funny as it doesnt even give an error message.. the sound just disappears!!
The only solution is to soft reset.. again launching talking tom gives the same problem..
Any one can test it for me?
Many thanks!
Had the same problem as you...but I was using this app Vlingo ...however I just had a system update today and so far the sound is fine after I used the same app...fingers crossed

System update as in the ROM update?
Well I have uninstalled Talking Tom from the phone for now.. lets see..
I had the same problem with the talking rex app, thought I was going crazy. Did a soft reset and then later my phone just randomly restarted while entering text on the Internet, debating doing a factory reset. Lots of quirks with this phone, hopefully we get an ota soon.

A single question mark. That's it. No other punctuation. I'd love to help, but I have no clue how to break this one down. Longest sentence I've seen in a while.

same lmao, I also took a look cause I wouldn't mind helping but damn. I don't understand a thing.
First of all, what's your issue? "screen issue" is quite vague and apparently, your only problem is the carousel?
Then you mention screen sensitivity, so what's your problem exactly?
I'm just trying to help. I really don't think many other members will understand what you're trying to ask.. You need to elaborate

Maybe you should try recalibrate your touch screen. I think you problem is miss calibrate which cause when you tap touch screen to open certain app, but other app open.
But im not sure how to calibrate it. Read some where but forget it. Maybe in setting.

Does ICS have any adjustments to the volume of the speaker phone or headset volume? The Sensation has always had weak volume.

I had the same problem to, tried all things nothing helped, then someone told me about an app called volume+ must be rooted to work the best.....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5URVNULmFuZHJvaWQubHZoIl0.
I got the paid app after I tried it out, more settings.
Not sure I want to root my phone yet. I know its easy to do. Just kind of waiting of ics to see if it makes it better. Wondering if anyone with ics already has seen a change.

Hi, I intalled Equalizer EQ from the market, set in the sittings "automatic" and increased the equalizer. That improved the volume a lot.

You don't have to root with volume +, just to use the in call settings you must have root.... you can use either of the two apps which work fine....
