What is hboot?

I done a quick search trough the xda app and I haven't found a proper answer...
So can sometime tell me what hboot is please? As yesterday I turned my phone S-off to root it and the revolutionary software changed my hboot... I was wondering what exactly is hboot and does it matter that its changed/what does this effect?

Alright, HBoot is the bootloader - sort of like BIOS, it tells the phone what to do when I push the power button.

[Q] Reset binary counter

Hey guys, so I'm wondering if it's possible to reset the binary counter on my SGH-I727R for warranty purposes. Also does anyone know where I can find the original baseband version for an SGH-I727R?
