This may have been asked before but I am awful at navigating the xda search. Basically, my question is: Is there a way to link text notifications with the Epic lock screen without using the default Messaging app?
Example: When I get a text while the phone is locked using default messaging app, I drag the lock down and the unlock takes me directly to my inbox.
Is there a way to do this same thing but using an app such as GoSMS, ChompSMS, or HandcentSMS instead of the default Messaging application?
If you know of a way, please let me know.
Thanks.
With handcent I just use the pop up, I have it set to private so it doesn't come on when the screen is locked, and when I unlock it its right there, not exactly my inbox but I can read and reply messages, works on any lock screen also.
Hi
I always used Handcent on Desire,
thought id give stock a go for a while, is there a way to disable text from showing on the pop up ?
i dont mind the pop up itself but would not like message text to be there.
cant see a setting for it
anyone know if there is ??
cheers
Hi guys, I was just wondering is there a way to change the settings in the HTC stock messagin app to stop the full text of messages appearing in the notification bar?
It's rather embarassing if I'm showing someone something on the phone and then a luvvy duvvy text from the missus pops in...

Yes its in settings ->privacy-> lock screen and it's the first option
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
I think I love you.
Thanks!
This is the first time I've ever seen this icon pop up with a text. What does it mean?
Maybe a MMS with a long ass text? Not sure. What options does it give you when you press on it?

Just the normal options for an MMS: view slideshow, save picture, call, open contact, forward, view message details, delete, lock

That was the whole message that I received, there was nothing else & that was well after it was done sending to me.
In the process of sending is a small analog clock icon, plus the message would be in a white tab on the other side of the screen, this one is a received message.
I think this icon indicates there is text along with the picture. Try having someone send you a picture with no text or subject, then one with a subject only, then one with a caption. I think you will find that it is a reminder to read the message as well.
Hmm I'll give that a try. Thanks
Hi everyone! My incoming text messages are not showing up. After I click on them from the messaging screen, they disappear. So, unless I'm looking at my phone and can read the preview - I lose my messages entirely. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas to get my text messages working again?

Hey there .
First of all , are you on stock ? What what model ? And most importantly , are you sure you have enough disk space for them ? Make sure you're not running out on that . You might want to check if the "Delete Old Messages" is ticked in the SMS app and see if it's not accidentally set to a low number .
