Perm rooted, LeeDrOiD Froyo 2.2.3 cant work out whether im fully/correctly setup - Desire HD Android Development

Hi Guys,
Please excuse this possibly misplaced post (newb alert)
Sometime ago i read as much as i could before embarking on the root/unlock process after this i flashed the recommended radio for the rom at the time and all seemed to be well.
The rom i flashed is LD 2.2.3 & flashed kernel V2.2.9 to go with it. I have been using this since it was done.
I have recently booted to recovery/bootloader and i get an error saying that PD98img isnt/cannot be found etc.
Also whilst looking more carefully at the phones software information-under Settings, i see that my DHD's build number is 1.72.405.3.
This has lead me to believe that i have somewhere deviated from the correct method of this whole process and i am now worried that im not benefitting from this entire thing.
I am happy now to follow the masses up to Lee's GB ROM, but i want the foundations to be correct/ even if just in my head first.
I do NOT remember downgrading at all so this may be where i need to start.
What would help i think is a list of the steps i ought to have taken and perhaps the steps i need to accend to GB.
Please be gentle on me guys.....newb n all
Best Regards
WEz

I don't know that much but, if your radio s-off, and eng s-off and you've installed lee's froyo rom then you're fine.
That message you get in bootloader is normal.
Join the "masses" upto Lee's GB rom it's excellent. -Altho wait until tomorrow as he's making a few touch-ups to v3.1.3

Thanks for the prompt reply EmprtArea,
I did think i had done everything fairly correctly, its just that build No. 1.72.405.3 that completely threw me, from what i have read today in a rush, this number is rootable but shouldnt be able to run another ROM without a downgrade.....i may be getting my wires crossed though. Is there process in particular you recommend i follow for the transition to GB?
I think i have to use an up graded version of CWM dont i? 3.?????
Have you noticed much of an improvement with the GB ROM? I see most people are more than happy with it, forsaking the expected glitches/bugs in a cooked ROM like Lee's
Thanks for your help once again.
Wez
P.S Keep Up The Good Work LeeDrOiD!! A few beers coming from me when i get your GB ROM up n running here

ClockworkMod is able to flash anything when you have it in your phone + S-OFF, so it is not unusual that you do not need to downgrade. Bootloader does not get informed about what has been flashed in ClockworkMod, so the number remains the same.

Ahhhhhhh, that clarifies it totally, thankyou very much for that snippet. Everyday is like a learning curve on XDA, its cool.
Thankyou, both of you. For a moment there i thought id jumped the gun and messed it up.
Thanks

How I learned to love the bomb..oops, I mean how I finally got CWM working :D

Okay, here goes the story-
1.Got an Inspire
2.Did the Hack Kit and then installed the Rooted Stock ROM (Discontinued), everything went okay but when trying to reboot into CWM, I got the HTC Screen for a few seconds then blackness, I later determined it was working I just couldn't see it for whatever reason.
3.Okay, I thought I'd try Bubby's One Click and see if that would fix it, it went great too, but CWM still no workie, getting frustated now.
4.I thought I'd try flashing a non-AT&T ROM, since so many have been having issue running one and getting the working, but black screened CWM, I chose CoreDroid's.
5.I put CoreDroid's ZIP on my SD Card, went into ROM Manager and installed it, making sure clear memory and backup current ROM were checked.
6.It rebooted into CWM, which of course I couldn't see, then about 10 minutes later it rebooted, and the beautiful CoreDroid Animation came up, and a few minutes after that I had CoreDroid up and running.
7.Well, I thought, CWM should work fine now, EHHHHH Sorry Johnny (which sounded weird, since my name is Mike ), wrong answer, I rebooted into CWM and there it was again, total blackness.
8.Okay, I noticed in CoreDroid that to be able to flash new Radio's, you had to have Eng S-OFF, so I ran the One Click Eng S-Off Tool found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403 , making sure to check the box saying I already have S-Off.
9.It ran, and said it was successful, and I now had Eng S-Off, so I rebooted into Hboot to check, and at the top sure enough, it said Eng S-Off, I then hit PowerDown, which it did, but then....well, go to 10
10.It rebooted into...yep, CWM! Clear and beautiful, it looked wonderful! So booted back up, went into ROM Manager and told it to boot into CWM, it did so and it came up again, no problems! I did it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, nope, all was well now in CWM Land!
So, how's that for a saga? Ahh, now I can kick back, it's Miller Time, or Dr.Pepper Time in my world, I don't drink
Use this at YOUR OWN RISK! I take no responsibility for bricked or ruined phones, I just posted this in hopes it might help out people having CWM issues. DO NOT send me hate mail because this didn't work for you
Good job bro!! I don't personally have the problem, but I've been following tons who have. Well done!
i did step 8 throu 10 and it works great thanks a mill!
No prob, I'm glad I could help you guys out!
congrads!!! i'm gonna try it out, i really wanna try some of these awesome roms available
Thanks Epic, let me know how it goes for you! I can't figure out what it did, other than maybe some files were corrupted or missing, and doing the Eng S-Off pushed and refreshed whatever was corruped or missing, either way I am glad to have it working again
Very nice discovery, I will in cooperate this into the next version of my program. Thanks a ton.

Will do.
I believe (if I'm not mistaken) that ENG S-OFF is the Engineering bootloader... it's not the best way to S-Off, because it puts the Engineer's Test HBOOT onto your phone, which causes some problems for other things. Also, to get back to complete stock, you'll now need to flash a stock HBOOT as well, if I remember correctly.
For that very reason, I would *NOT* incorporate this into your one-click, bubby... it worked for me perfectly the way it is, WITHOUT an Engineering HBOOT. I'd leave this as a possible solution for the ones that actually have the problem.

I haven't had any issues yet, so hopefully I'm good I wouldn't have even ran it except for the fact that to flash other radios, you need to have it on there. I don't mind doing whatever I have to do to go back to Stock, which I don't plan on doing unless I have to send it in for warranty or insurance.
That said, I just posted it so that it might be of help to others, so I guess try it if you are having problems with CWM showing up properly, otherwise leave it alone

No doubt. I hope I never have to, either... I just remember that with an engineer hboot on the desire, it was a LOT harder to get it back to stock, and had several other issues, and that's why they did away with it in favor of non-ENG HBOOT options. I like how it opens up the phone, though. This is indeed a great find that it works with ours!
EDIT: Ahh, I found it. It's in the G2 Wiki here.
"INSTALLING ENGINEERING HBOOT (DZ/G2/DHD) - OPTIONAL and UNNECESSARY!
Assuming you've backed up your phone with Clockwork's nandroid, you can install the engineering HBOOT (bootloader), which among other things allows you to use fastboot flash (or flashing-over-usb from your computer). This is unnecessary for most users but provides additional functionality for developers.
This is totally optional and dangerous - if the write to the phone partition fails the phone will be bricked. At the moment there is no cure for a phone that has been bricked by a failed hboot install."
That very last line is why Bubby should NOT include this in his one click... you think problems are bad now, wait till someone bricks a device and we can't unbrick it! D:

FAQ:
Again, it's recommended that you flash radio 26.04.02.17_M2 (Orange ES 1.75.75.2 / HTC WWE 1.72.405.3) or radio_26.06.03.24_M2 (TELUS WWE 1.84.661.1) or Radio 26.05.05.27_M3 - (Orange UK 1.84.61.2)
How do I flash a new radio?
In order to flash other radios you need to have ENG S-OFF. Once your device has that read this thread to learn how to flash a radio.img
How to get ENG S-OFF:
Download the attached "easy S-OFF.zip" at the botton of this FAQ.
Extract to a folder of your choice.
Connect your phone to a computer (make sure you have USB Debugging enabled. Connect charge only!)
Open my "Desire HD easy s-off.exe", click "S-OFF it"! Allow possible SuperUser request on your phone.
There could be force closes after the process, just reboot and everything will be fine.
Done. (in bootloader it should now show ENG S-OFF)"

No doubt, still a great find. It's definitely a temp cwm fix, so use as necessary, just be careful and DO NOT unplug your phone while it's flashing!

Lol Cali, remind me to "thank" you tomorrow I've been trying all night, but I'm at the 24 hr limit for "thanks". I appreciate the post update, and this really is a great find. I can't stress that enough lol. In the right hands, an engineering HBOOT is great.

Rooting and Flashing

So I just picked up the Sensation. I'd like to root and flash it. But since it's so new and shiny, I'm a little worried. I've done this all before on my Vibrant and Nook, but just want to know if there are any precautions specifically for the Sensation. Also, a a nice ROM recommendation would be nice. Although I'm considering the HD Revolution 1.8.8 I saw in the other section.
Thanks guys.
totally safe to do it. just follow the instructions on the dev section and you should be set to flash roms. the revolution rom is a good one to start with, im currently using leedroid v1.3. i was worried about this too because it was my first time doing something like this, but you dont have anything to worry about
Revolutionary is an awesome tool It's so so simple...even simpler than unlocking a Nexus One, if I remember that process correctly (fastboot oem unlock...?).
InsertCoin 2.3.4 is awesome, as is Android Revolution HD.
Rooting is cake, just read and follow directions and you'll be fine.
Are you a TMOUS user? You may want to flash a TMOUS rom to gain full data speeds. The roms mentioned are not built off TMOUS release.
This is my first android phone. And flashing really felt like piece of cake. Haven't heard of anyone bricking their phone yet so just go ahead.
Lol awesome, originally i just wanted to post sth in the revolution Rom thread. Since I don't have 10 posts and am a new user, I'll have to wait 5 minutes now, write another post and so on until I'm finally at 10 posts to comment on the newest version oh ARHD

The cake is a lie
But seriously. If you've done to it before to other devices you'll be fine, just use one of the guides in the development section.
I had a minor issue when i flashed my TMOUSA Sensation 4g, i have tried a few roms, including the stock rom. When i went S-Off and Rooted the phone never stays in Vibrate or Silent. It always reverts to some strange version of audible where some ui clicks are full volume but notifications are super quiet. Dont have 10 posts so i cant do a proper bug report
s-off get the device out from warranty in my home
so i need root my device with delaying getting out from warranty for 6 months then free to flash room

Help! Wrong radio!!

Alright, so I've had an htc sensation running on leedroid 3.10 for quite some time now. Recently it started to restart randomly, so I decided to upgrade my rom. So then I attempted to install insertcoin ICS, but I needed a new radio. So I chose one figuring it would work and now my device doesn't connect to internet or even my data. Whenever I try to install a different radio now to attampt fixing it, it says I have the wrong CID! I NEED my phone to work soon because i have a lot of important things to do that involve it!! Thanks for all help and please respond soon! FYI it says my radio is 10.11.9007.06_M2. Should I maybe reflash the hboot?
EDIT: And in case you're wondering, I've been searching for the solution for hours. I've never been more afraid of anything not working than this phone, and I can't afford a new phone, so please help!
First, you need to be superCid in order to install any radio without issue, Have a look in this post, Step 4
After that, you need to install corresponding firmware before flashing ICS rom. read this Thread

Hi,
10.11.9007.06_M2 is a few steps backwards/downwards on the radio ladder.
You can see the order HERE
What is your actual plan?
Do you want ICS?
If you want ICS ,you either need Super CID,or look at THIS POST
Right now there are 2 ICS bases:
3.12.....Sense 3.5
3.24.....Sense 3.6
When you install the appropriate firmware for either ROM,it will have the new radio inside the PG58IMG.zip
A good thread to follow is HERE
If you are not confident about upgrading to ICS,you could just flash the radio:
10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
and carry on with GingerBread.

[Q] How to flash from Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.0 to HTC 4.0 with Sense 3.6?

I was quite happy with Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.0 until recent but now its hanging an crashing all the time and sometimes the display will not switch on (even after battery was out).
Now I want to try HTCs ICS to see if this is better (at least until CM9 is out). I had a backup from my stock HTC Gingerbread and tried to recover it (and then wanted to do the update over the air) but it is going into a reboot loop after the HTC jingle. I assume because it is expecting a different firmware.
Can someone point me to a GUIDE maybe? I'm sure I just have to flash the old firmware but how and which?
Here bro http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 just dl 1.17 firmware and follow the guide and u should be good. If have any problems pm me otherwise get me on gtalk [email protected]
I have Super CID. Does this change the procedure?
Nevermind I just have to read FIRST then ask!
Super cid makes it easier and no worries man, I'm not one of those that chew u out or for asking questions, even stupid ones. I'm here to help anybody the best I can
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it. I tried my old backup with 1.17 and it booted. But the ota update from HTC was only 9 MB and I was unable to install it. After it rebooted to install it, it showed a package with an arrow and a droid for a very short moment then after that a warning sign with a droid. I left it there for about 20 min but it never changed.
I am trying this now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529941
But mike writes "Note: You will need to flash the appropriate 3.32.405.x firmware located in this thread" but I can't find 3.32.405.x only3.32.401.x

That's simple man, just use the 3.32 firmware from the link I gave u. It's 3.32 for all the new ics roms bro
Your were right, it worked. It's installing all my apps now. That never worked for me automatically. Maybe a good sign. I hope its more stable under heavy load then Virtuous and doesn't run out of RAM like HTC gingerbread did (and killing the launcher in the process) AND Virtuous did this also but it "only" got terribly slow then.
Well some have liked rom and then there's some, including myself, that didn't. I like the elegantica, I think that's how u spell it, or energy rom, but if u need anything else man don't hesitate to pm me or find me on gtalk
I installed Sensation_3.32.401.5_odexed but now I wanted to recover The Sims free Play via titanium but it failed. Ceramic destroyer worked after recovery including saves. Sims recovery got aborted and now I even can not install it via market. Do I need to flash the deodexed ROM?
Possibly, not to sure

Radio download links?

Hey all, I'm sorry if this seems an odd question, but I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around the process of how the One S gets different features flashed to the device.
I don't have my One S yet (Hopefully it'll arrive later today, 7/27) but I wanted to be prepared when it arrives.
It seems the links are broken in this post and it's stating that this thread is outdated.
If I'm going to flash a new ROM on the device, are the radios generally included in that ROM already? I see that you often times need to manually flash BOOT.IMG on a per-ROM basis due to not having s-off? I'm comfortable with all of that, I just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything, and unfortunately it seems as though there is little information in some of the threads on XDA that clearly answer my question.
Call it a personality defect, I just like to 100% understand something in every possible way before being able to attempt it. Unfortunately when I don't have the device in front of me, it prevents me from being able to do that, but that's what forums are for, right?
Cheers all, I appreciate anyone taking the time to answer my question.

The latest radio with android 4.0.4 rom is said to be much better in terms of performace of wifi and cellular data signal then all previous versions, unfortunately buying a phone at this stage means that you probably will have a later hboot version 1.13 and this hboot doesnt allow flashing radio from recovery like the previous versions. You can find out more info about the radio in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781033
To answer your other question the radio has to be flashed separately from the ROM. Hopefully your phone comes with a lower hboot so flashing wont be a problem, make sure you dont accept the ota update out of the box like i did so u dont accidently get an upgraded hboot. Makes life more diificult ;p.
Its a used phone and is already running CM9, so I'm hoping its the older boot. I already made sure it was the S4, but I just realized that the unlocked phones don't support TMOUS bands, so I'm a bit screwed at the moment.
I don't know what the next step is for me, so I may be forced to move to Straight Talk until I can get another 100% compatible TMOUS phone. I saw it has 2100 HSPA radio frequencies so I had assumed it would work on TMOUS. Needless to say I feel pretty stupid now.
Thanks again for the links, they were exactly what I was looking for!

If you want to get this new radio, the only way to do it at this moment is to change to SuperCID and follow the steps from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781033
