So just a while ago i tried to download a Cyanogen Mod nightly off Rom Manager for my G2x and I backed up my stock rooted rom of course before going through with the wipes and everything and it seemed to have gone though very quick and when it booted back on all it did to my phone was wipe it and pretty much restore it. Now when I go try to Manage and Restore backups nothing is there! So in other words the Nightly didn't go through for some reason and for another weird reason my Backup I did right before isn't there and showing up either. I know it's there also because I checked under Linda File Manager and it's under my Clockwork Mod file. Any ideas or thoughts?

Try moving the backup from internal SD to external SD its in a folder called clockworkmod

You need to do backups only in recovery flsshed from nvflash plz do a search before you post. Rom manger does not work right with the G2X.

1. A flash over the top with no wipe will keep your apps. If however the dev has done an update with a new base, a wipe is recommended.
2. Do a nandroid backup and try the kernel. I get fantastic battery life on coredroid with it.
3. Yes but NEVER rename the folder else it will never restore. It will fail on md5 checksum error.

If you wanna backup your apps, use Titanium Backup. It's awesome, use it all the time. It also backs up data.
Also, you need to manually wipe all data before you flash
Kernel is optional, but you should try it.
About the backup - put it in the PC, i have. If you ever wanna delete the backup from your phone but want to keep it on your PC, then delete the contents of the backup folder in the phone, not the folder itself. I have 2 backups on my phone right now. Consumes waaaaay too much space. Got 5 on my PC
OK..... So if I use titanium backup now for some apps and install another Tom it will be there even if I wipe data and stuff?

So with virtuous unity does it reproduce the same battery life as stock

no. You need to restore the apps.
Okay so I have read a bunch about rom manager and have tried working with it. I have 2 questions about it:
1) I am not able to do a proper restore with it. I want to flash different roms but I would like to keep completely seperate folders on my sd card for each rom.
So I am wondering, after doing a "backup current rom" and then putting the entire sd card directory on my pc (which has the clockworkmod folder with the backup in it), then going and screwing up my phone , and finally wanting to restore with cwm recovery, do I have to put all the original folders (that were on the sd when I did the backup) back on the sd card and then hit restore, or can I just put the clockworkmod folder back on the sd and hit restore?
Also, I have another question: if I have cwm recovery already in the kernel I am using (Cog5 Beta 2), do I really need tibu and rom manager, or can I pretty much flash, completely restore, and completely backup roms (and all other settings) through the cwm recovery?
Could someone who is familar with cwm and has actually restored successfully using it help me out, please?? (yes I have read other stuff-but can't find anything about this!)
Cog5b1-3 do NOT work restoring from cwm at all so rom manager wont restore either. It MAY not even backup the rom correctly. As much as I liked Cog5b3 I HAD to switch back to Apex so I can ACTUALLY BACKUP AND RESTORE from cwm if necessary. I KEPT the i897 bootloaders and flashed Apex Full with wipe.

Aww... yea i guess im gonna have to switch then.
So ur saying u use Apex - how is that compared to cog5?
Also, I'm thinking it will be unnecessary for me to keep tibu and rom manager as long as I have a kernel with cwm (b/c i will bakup, flash, and restore with it) - so what kernel are u running?
Finally, would u be able to help me with the whole "do i need to backup the entire sd directory or can i just backup the cwmod folder" thing??
Don't use ROM Manager. That is all.
ive been trying to manager my backups for this tablet

If it's a CWM nandroid backup just open the clocworkmod folder and delete the backup you want gone
You didnt get my question
Is there any other way ?
Why rom manager doesnt work properly ?

he did answer your question and to delete backups just delete the file off your sd card (the numbers in front are the date and time the backup was made)
and rom manager does not work because it does not support the transformer.
Lame thanks

Hello! I need help!
I flashed a rom yesterday and I backed up my rom before flashing. Today I was trying to restore my backup and the system did not find it. I can see it using Astro file manager under clockworkmod and backups. But on recovery it won't show. And the recovery shows three backups that I don't remember doing but two out of the three are not accesible. Please, if you can tell me how to make clockworkmod see my backup. I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
Did you backup to the internal drive or external sd card. Try going to your backup and restore then click the restore from external sd card to see if it is possibly there.

I don't have an SD card. It was saved on my internal drive. I tried to but it says I can't because there is no Sd card.
Did you format your internal drive before you tried restoring the backup. Usually my cwm just populates the ones I have done or if I want to pull one of the ones on my sd card I can. I will try moving my backup and see if I can replicate the problem.

no I didn't I'll try to move it to an sd card and see what happens
I moved my backup to another folder and cwm did not find it. I'm not sure if you possibly moved it from the clockwork folder or not. I hope you figure it out.

If you are still having problems try going into rom manager app. Should have a manage and restore option. From there it should have a list of your backups and will let you restore from one of those.

Another thing to try is to make sure your recovery is current and up to date. That same thing happened to me (with TWRP) and it turned out it was due to me flashing a 4.2 rom (which changes the file structure of your sd) and having an older recovery that didn't support it.

So I got a little bored of CM7 and decided to flash something new. I went with weapon G2X. Installed fine except for some reason when I am in the ROM itself my file manager does not seem to detect anything that I have on my SD card. I know it's still there because when I boot into recovery I can see them there. I side loaded my Titanium apk (thankfully I threw it on my pc for safekeeping) but it will not allow me to restore any of my apps. When I click on "batch actions" I get an error saying mnt/sdcard/emmc/titaniumbackup cannot be found. In recovery mode I mounted emmc and my sdcard with no help at all. What else can I do? I would really like to get this rom working but if not I'm going to restore from my cm7 nandroid.
So I realized that my TiBa location is actually sdcard/titanium backup not emmc. So in the preferences portion of titanium I changed the backup folder to sdcard/titaniumbackup. But that didn't help my issue. Now all I have is "mnt/sdcard/titaniumbackup cannot be accessed. Even though when I chose the correct location TiBa is TELLING ME that i have 69 backups in that folder. Any ideas?????????
**Edit- Not sure why but TiBa eventually recognized by backup directory and am now in the process of restoring all my lost applications. Any mods can delete the thread. Sorry.
CM7 and stock based roms use different main storages. CM uses the external one while stock uses internal, so when you did tibu it changed its default location when changing roms.
