I thought it was ultimate Droid. But I have flashed a couple of roms today and I can not turn my phone off. I power down and ten seconds later the HTC screen pups up and my phone powers up. I flared and older recovery and still no dice. Any ideas?

Ok I just flashed the Revolution HD rom and also the radio. I performed the checksum on both and they both matched. first time around I didnt check so I went through everything as I was having some weird issues that have since been resolved. However from the beginning of being rooted I noticed something strange. When I power off the phone its like it goes into a sleep mode rather than full power off. Reason I think this is after selecting power power off and it cycles I press the power button to power on and it vibrates once then it goes straight to the unlock screen. No HTC screens at all. It does show no service at first like it was off. So is this a malfunction or something I never noticed prior to the root because I honestly dont remember how it was stock. Thanks and hopefully if it is an issue its simple...
Go to menu/settings/power and unchecked fastboot. Its just the fastboot feature

This is my dad's inspire, running cm7.
He plugged it in overnight as always, and when he woke up, it won't come on. No light, no nothing.
Tried a battery pull, no go.
Anyone have a thought ?

If possible try and swap the battery for another one to see if that is the case. Maybe the phone didn't actually charge? Try plugging the phone into the charger and while plugged in start up the phone.
See if those methods help.
The same thing happened to me. Even though cm7 has a different load screen I took it to at&t , they couldn't turn it on either, so they just gave me a brand new phone!

Try holding down the down volume key and power to boot into HBoot.
Hi
I returned home from holiday the other day to my TF101 and I can't turn it on. The keyboard charges no problem, but I'm not sure what the problem is with the screen. The power button is unresponsive, and I'm not sure if it charges when it's plugged in.
Any suggestions? Our shall I send it Asus for repair?
It is not rooted, and had the official ics update.

I am having the same issue just today. Tried hard reset and holding power down for 30+ secs. Also tried with the micro sd out.
Some advice would be great.
I'll try the hard reboot when I get in from work.

Ok,
So my tablet is definatley running. It's just that the screen won't turn on. I am able to pull it apart, is there anything I should look for or had the screen just given up the ghost.
Weird thing is the actual touch is working as I can hear it unlock to say the camera but just black screen. I have gone to a dark room to see if there is any back light but no go. It's as if it was turned off.
Bit over it.
I spoke with Asus UK support today, they said they have had a few dodgy screens before. Have arranged for then to repair it under manufacture warranty. They picking it up tomorrow.
I'll update you on the outcome

Hi all. I have a problem with my one x for the past month. For example, last night I turned off my phone while fully charged. About 10 hours layer I turned it on and it had discharged 50%. This has happened quite a lot over the past month. When I leave it turned on, the battery drain is normal. I have factory reset my phone and deleted apps, but nothing helps. Does anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong? Thanks.

Do you have fastboot option turned on in settings>power? See screenshot.

It was turned on, so I turned it off. I hope this makes a difference. I just do not know why it drained so quickly while turned off. Thanks a lot.

Technically when that option is turned on, the phone doesn't actually shut down when you shut it down, it goes into a hibernate mode. Btw round here we push the thanks button

I generally do not turn my phone off. But I got a new HTC one and have been using it for 2 months. I turned off my one x this morning'sng after work at a full charge, when I turned it on, it had gone down To 31% remaining. I still can not figure out what is causing such a power drain. I did uncheck the setting you mentioned last night, but it did not help. I am gong to go to a Rogers store and see what they might suggest. Thanks again.

Every time I try to power off my DROID MAXX when it's charging (be it a wall outlet or my computer) instead of turning off, it resets instead. Does anybody else have this problem? When I turn it off, then charge, it stays powered down, but it's still slightly annoying. Any fix would be greatly appreciated.
Mine does the same. Power off twice.

Thanks. When I try it later, are you saying should I hit the power button twice or just try again after the first reboot?
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app
Try it again after the first cycle.

Thanks for the help. Strangely, now it seems to be staying off on the first shutdown. I've downloaded a task killer and a few updates, so maybe it was fixed in the meantime.

I find also turning it on when plug in an issue. I have to hold the power button for so long and then it skips the M boot animation and goes strait to the droid animation.
Are you plugged into a computer or the wall?
Typically if you're plugged into a computer it won't power off.

I think you're initiating fastboot. There's a bit of a delay, so try holding the power button for only two seconds then just waiting for the normal boot animation.
