Sirius XM app - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Hi, does anyone know if this app will work on transformer ?
It doesn't show in the market for me.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App

I would also like to know if there is a way to use to siriusxm app on the tf as well and have been having the same issues with the market.

sirius/xm
Yes, it works. Think I had to go to Siriusxm to get it. However, it is far from my favorite music 'station'. You must login, each time, and you loose the music if you go to any other app (like reading a book.)
They really need to do some work on this if they want to keep me as a subscriber!

It sounds like you are talking about the internet web-based SiriusXM player. I couldn't agree more with you and I think the Web player stinks. Like you I'm not happy with it. If it wasn't for their Android phone amp, I'd drop the subscription. That app works really well on my phones. However!
The SiriusXM android phone app does not work on the transformer. I tried installing it from a phone backup. The app will start, but will never get past the "updating" first page.

Best podcast app for your android powered device

ok so I have only used itunes (which the podcasts are a heck of a lot smaller) I also use .podkast which seems to work great, but man the file must be around 200mb or more. example i listen to mark levin and it only takes 6-8 minuets to download a full podcast on itunes but it takes over 30 minutes on .podkast. So i ask you which is the best podcast app out there...thanks
check out Dogcatcher. It is in the Market and is pretty good.
You can stream The Great One from his audio page directly from the website. Radio Time is a very nice app, just needs a little work with the FC's while its idle.

Beyond Pod is my favorite, and it has a free trial as well. definetly the best one
I'm a big fan of Doggcatcher.

Beyondpod for sure.
Stitcher is cool as well, lets you stream but you can't download for playing them later. So if you have a sketch connection or can't listen to them all the way through its kind of tough.

Looks like I will be downloading beyondpod to try it out lol. I like XIIAlive bit seems to have issues with buffering lol. Also just found a good app...Tunewiki.
Hey, I know this thread's pretty old, but I had to suggest PodKicker. It's pretty solid, and lets you stream or download podcasts with the Rss Feed link. And best of all, IT'S FREE!
My favorite one is PocketCast. It automatically downloads the podcasts I subscribe to, deletes them when I've listened to them, and it has a great UI which is simple to control. The UI is probably the most important feature because I use it when I am driving, and I can't afford to spend time fiddling with controls. It's only $3.00 too.

+1 to this. I use it every day and it's great.
Been using Feed Sponge for quite awhile and have no issues with it. Also use Stitcher.

Agreed. I own both dogcatcher and pocketcasts...
Pocketcasts wins in my book. ;x
I'm liking both PodKicker and Stitcher. Stitcher has a good market and UI, but doesn't allow you to add rss feeds. So I use PodKicker for that. Both are free, so I'm fine with switching between the two.

I've always used .podkast, because I like the ability to DL the mp3s , but whenever I have it installed, my battery drops like a rock. Thanks for other suggestions.

Pocket Casts
I've used Pocket Casts since it was the free app of the day in the Amazon App Store, then purchased it in the google market after the developer had problems with Amazon. It works great, and has a ton of features. The developer keeps it up to date as well.

Logitech Revue Netflix apk?

I understand the Logitech Revue runs Android, it has a Netflix app installed. Would it be possible to pull out the Netflix apk and try it on the Evo?
hmmm.... posting to check later. This could be interesting.
I sure wish that it did, hope to hear something.
No. The Netflix app for the Revue is most likely a shortcut link to the actual Netflix website/player. They already brought this up in another thread before and I remember reading that this was the reason why it wouldn't work.

When trying to play movies on the revue from the website it simply fails. The app opens a gallery type view of your queue. It just seems like more of an app than a link. It also has it's own GUI for things like pause ffwd rwnd etc...

Also netflix runs silverlight, I really doubt microsoft whipped up a special version of it just for google tv.
It might be a link in the sense of how skyfire runs flash. They process the flash on their servers and stream it to the phone as a mp4.
GoogleTV rocks. My 2 year old son runs it like its a toy! But I doubt until we get root that anything of this nature can be attempted. We do not even have access to market yet

"podcast" app?

this isn't really specific to the DX, but it's what i have so i'm asking here:
i'm looking for an app that will play really long mp3's (like hours long... like a podcast) and, more specifically, will remember where you are in the podcast when you quit the program and start back up at that point when you want to start listening again.
currently i'm just using the native music app and i have to try and remember myself where i left off in a podcast and manually skip ahead to that point every time i need to stop and then come back to a particular file.
thanks for the info!!
I've been using Google Listen for audio podcasts

Carcast. You can search for, download, and listen to podcasts in it. It remembers where you are in the podcast and restarts it from where you left off. It's also free...
Stitcher is the best podcast app it seems to have everything

Check out PodTrapper. I used this app all the time when I had a Blackberry. When the dev came out with the Android version, I made the switch over to Android.
It's a powerful app that I use on a daily basis.

Beyond Pod works great
Doggcatcher. best podcast app there is. and it's temp on sale with funds going to support Japan.
Listen....
Ive used pretty much all of them (except for DoggCatcher, because it aint free...)... Heres my humble opinion:
For almost one year, i used aCast, in my rooted HTC G1 (CyanogenMod 6.1), worked fine, until out of the blue, stopped catching...
I have to say, i ONLY use it to download and listen to TWiT casts... ive also been looking for an entertaining podcast featuring alternative punk rock music, but havent been sucessfull (suggestions are appreciated).
After aCast, i went on trying mostly every single podcast catcher i could...
Hapi Podcast worked awesome on my Droid X for maybe 4 months, i actually rated it 4 stars and an inspiring comment, and then.. poof... no synching..
Ive been happy now with Google Listen... Its the most simple of them all, plus, it syncs well with google reader on your pc. It remembers where you left on all your casts.. (well i usually sync down oly 5 or 6, and it does remember the part where im at, every time)
Google Listen seems to be my the app for the job.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping (as I tried it just to be sure). Hopefully something will come down soon. I can't wait to get most of the music I want to listen to off of my phone
though if MS enables SkyDrive for music then u can just use that and won't have to rely on ****ty Google.
well Google hasnt even made a simple Youtube app for WP7, so I wouldnt get my hopes up. Amazon probably will have an app soon, considering they already have the Kindle and amazon store app.

I'd love to see Amazon do an appstore app and give away free apps everyday like they do on Android. I must have nearly 200 paid apps gotten free from the Amazon Appstore.

That would be nice. I'd like to use MS on this one for sure. Not that I hate Google or anything.

True. I'd almost rather use Amazon's service as it's pretty cheap with the current no limit on your own files plans. No telling what Google's going to charge
actually try them out?
I have actually treid both of them out.... (gasp!)
amazons version reminds me of waiting for a RealPlayer video to load BUFFERINGGGGGGGGG...
Amazons crashes more often, and has more ui issues. Google Music Beta crashes 1/4 tp 1/10 as often, and the ui works better for "caching" music offline.
try them both, just hating one because of bias is pointless.
Have you given the zune pass streaming a try? I have been using it and it has been pretty good, quite a large collection, buffering is quick to non existent and i havent seen any crashes or whatnot since its part of the marketplace tile.

It works quite well. I'd still like a google music app though, as I have 2,000 songs in the cloud and could stream them for free.
I'm sure we'll see one after Mango drops.. with background audio capability.

Oh, I have tried them both and of course Google is better as for things working the way you would expect. Like actual monitoring of the folders instead of uploading or launching the music manager to add music.

App to play YouTube audio? (Music)

Just looking for an app that I can use to search YouTube for music, and play its audio only. Theres a lot of music I listen to on YouTube, but don't want to deal with buffering the whole video, keeping the phone awake etc. Found an app called UMusic, but it has been removed from market and can't find an apk anywhere. Anyone know of any alternatives? Thanks
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
There was an app called "Ghost town" and rather good it was too. But it also shared the same fate, and was removed. It's obviously Google clamping down on certain licensing laws.
I use these now, they run from the Grooveshark Databases, but are free, and are rather good.
Doods music Steamer :

Tinyshark:

*Note- You need to download Flash Player from Market first*
Happy listening.
Regards
I have tinyshark, and its really good, just still a fair amount of music I can't find ... completely forgot about ghost town, I had it a long time ago. Thank you for your reply, ill look into it

heh, i was looking for the same a couple of months ago. i tried most (all?) of the apps i found to do this (or something like this), some of them worked with flash and others didn't, but i found none of the apps really reliable, as in they all gave me issues sooner or later... ranging from connection problems, major buffering issues, app crashing, to no music found, etc. etc. none of them worked as well as the default youtube app, if only it would work in the background! So would love to hear if there is a simple and nice alternative that showed up recently!!
Yeah ghost town is dead... shame someone can't modify the YouTube app to do this..
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Yea, +1 that my friend!
ghost town is here: http://ghosttownapp.com/
I wasn't able to download it from the ghost town site. I found an apk for it but it will no longer play music

you sir, deserve quite a large cookie.
my ONLY complaint, which i noticed in the comments as well... is the quality. however, it may have been the particular song i chose, or my phone, or whatever. I'll be trying this out in the car tomorrow. Thanks, I def appreciate it!
