Has anyone found or know if an apps is being worked on for Google Music or Amazon Cloud Drive on Wp7? I really want to get all my music in the cloud and I'm going to stick with whichever one has an app first Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping (as I tried it just to be sure). Hopefully something will come down soon. I can't wait to get most of the music I want to listen to off of my phone
though if MS enables SkyDrive for music then u can just use that and won't have to rely on ****ty Google.
well Google hasnt even made a simple Youtube app for WP7, so I wouldnt get my hopes up. Amazon probably will have an app soon, considering they already have the Kindle and amazon store app.

I'd love to see Amazon do an appstore app and give away free apps everyday like they do on Android. I must have nearly 200 paid apps gotten free from the Amazon Appstore.

True. I'd almost rather use Amazon's service as it's pretty cheap with the current no limit on your own files plans. No telling what Google's going to charge
actually try them out?
I have actually treid both of them out.... (gasp!)
amazons version reminds me of waiting for a RealPlayer video to load BUFFERINGGGGGGGGG...
Amazons crashes more often, and has more ui issues. Google Music Beta crashes 1/4 tp 1/10 as often, and the ui works better for "caching" music offline.
try them both, just hating one because of bias is pointless.
Have you given the zune pass streaming a try? I have been using it and it has been pretty good, quite a large collection, buffering is quick to non existent and i havent seen any crashes or whatnot since its part of the marketplace tile.

It works quite well. I'd still like a google music app though, as I have 2,000 songs in the cloud and could stream them for free.
I'm sure we'll see one after Mango drops.. with background audio capability.

Oh, I have tried them both and of course Google is better as for things working the way you would expect. Like actual monitoring of the folders instead of uploading or launching the music manager to add music.

If you've previously written this app off for S2P or what have you, I suggest you check out the latest update to the software.
It's no longer JUST a media player. It's becoming more like an iPod Touch built into your WinMo phone. Check out the Facebook, Twitter and RSS apps built into it. The new like-an-iPhone-but-better interface (for the full effect, fill 4 pages of icons. Yep. Pages aren't just side-by-side, but above and below.) Plus, it has an program launcher which allows you to add your favorite apps to the home screen, along with your favorite music/video feeds and podcasts.
All it needs is a clock, weather and notifications and it's Kinoma FTW. If they take it as far as adding contacts, email and SMS, I'll never look at my today screen again.
I use a shortcut in Kinoma to iContact, another to my gmail inbox and yet another to SMS... sadly, the lack of a clock doesn't allow me to replace SPB MS3 with Kinoma, but I'd like to
Honestly, it IS the best WinMo app out there.. very very impressive.
How does it handle its core function - media? Last time I checked it out it couldn't do bookmarks well or play .avi files. Has that changed?
It's still pretty useless as a Video Player (laggy and no avi support) but for just playing music with a quick, slick repsonsive interface it's great. The added funtionality more than makes up for the lack of Video, use Coreplayer or TCMP for that. I've posted a Youtube clip on this thread of it running along side TF3D on my Touch pro 2.

Sorry, but you are going to have to pay for the full version if you want all the features. And you are complaining that they offered you a way to get it for free? Really?
The freeplay version is FREE, no time limits, and has many of the features of the paid version. But I dont know if it has been updated like the paid version yet.
I actually used the TrialPay to get RealNetworks (yuk) to pay for my copy. I was glad I didn't have to shell out my own $30, but it would have been worth it even if I had. Photos, music, YouTube, Orb, Audible, Streaming radio, audio and video podcasts in one app. And now they added Facebook and Twitter, and an RSS reader. The program is not perfect, but its getting close.

For anybody interested in Kinoma Play who hasn't checked out TrialPay: There's lots of different kinds of offers, so the odds a pretty good that you'll find one that's interesting for you. We've had lots of people "buy" Kinoma Play for free since we introduced it as an option, and so far it seems to be a win-win for customers.

Tried the free version quite awhile back. At the time, wasn't interested in paying $30 then. Looks more tempting now. I've also been wanting to try Audible.com, so I signed up with them via TrialPay. Waiting for the Kinoma registration, but TrialPay seems like a great idea if you can find something you're interested in "trying" out.
Charles,
Any chance of having trialpay working in China as at the moment it is not working. So hope you could look into it.
Thanks.
Hmm... The TrialPay process must be a bit delayed due to the US holiday, still waiting on the registration. Will be patient, it's a good deal.
In the mean time, loaded up the latest Freeplay version. It has improved a lot since the last time I tried it!

I paid the $30 for the full version, but to be honest I'm disappointed.
No AVI support is huge. I don't think its Kinoma's place to make a user code a video a certain way before it is played.
The app store has the same apps you can get anywhere else and most of them are not free.
The skin is not very visually appealing.
It takes to long to launch.
I think it would be good for social web apps but I don't tweet or use Facebook so, to me it's useless.
I have a music player already.
It's sits in a forgotten cab in my PC.
I already uninstalled it from my mobile device.

It also does not autoresume where you last listened to a playlist or folder when restarting the app. So if you quit you must remember which song you were up to(my playlist is about 2000 songs). I went back to pocketplayer.
ok so I have only used itunes (which the podcasts are a heck of a lot smaller) I also use .podkast which seems to work great, but man the file must be around 200mb or more. example i listen to mark levin and it only takes 6-8 minuets to download a full podcast on itunes but it takes over 30 minutes on .podkast. So i ask you which is the best podcast app out there...thanks

Hey, I know this thread's pretty old, but I had to suggest PodKicker. It's pretty solid, and lets you stream or download podcasts with the Rss Feed link. And best of all, IT'S FREE!
My favorite one is PocketCast. It automatically downloads the podcasts I subscribe to, deletes them when I've listened to them, and it has a great UI which is simple to control. The UI is probably the most important feature because I use it when I am driving, and I can't afford to spend time fiddling with controls. It's only $3.00 too.

I'm liking both PodKicker and Stitcher. Stitcher has a good market and UI, but doesn't allow you to add rss feeds. So I use PodKicker for that. Both are free, so I'm fine with switching between the two.

Pocket Casts
I've used Pocket Casts since it was the free app of the day in the Amazon App Store, then purchased it in the google market after the developer had problems with Amazon. It works great, and has a ton of features. The developer keeps it up to date as well.
Now I am no dev but I was wondering if it would be possible to create a media player that can sync with the desktop zune software and have a similar UI that plays all my protected content. I love my zune hd but part of the reason I bought this phone is so I only need to carry one device for all my multimedia needs. If this is possible ad there are any devs willing to work I would gladly make a donation of $50-$100 for a working app

I would wager 10x that amount that it will never happen..
I have a ZuneHD and f*ckin love it. However, Microsoft won't do it because thats one of the big draws for WP7, and we can't do it because there is no code to base it on. It's all Microsoft's protected content.
However, there is one option. I don't think its against any XDA rules to post this, and if it is I'll remove it, but I won't put links anyway. Just look up Daniusoft Digital Media Converter. I know it's expensive, ~$50 I think, but I bought it, and it's totally worth it. I have gotten way more use than that out of it. It'll let you convert your Zune Pass music to MP3 and then you can sync it to your Android with Doubletwist & the like. I know it's more work, but it does work.

But at that point, why not just download torrents with higher quality music? I mean, you could make the argument I guess that you have a right to that music even though you are explicitly only renting it .? ?.? . Save the 50 dollars and just join a good private torrent site like what or waffles.
Also, to the OP, if you only want to carry the Epic 4g for all of your multimedia needs, why do you need it to sync with the Zune software? I assume its because of the zune pass?

I don't know. I find this easier than torrent sites TBH. I'm a lazy ass, and I paid for convenience lol. This way it keeps all the metadata, and I don't have to sort it manually, and I do feel better in that I did actually pay for the music in one way or another.

For a zune interface, they do have a zune home replacement launcher but it's pretty awful. Really if you want the zune media interface get a windows phone 7... what you're asking for is foolish to be frank.
If you paid for movies and music, it should be drm free, then just transfer it to your sd card. Its what I do.

Not sure how you could call it foolish? It is widely accepted that the zune hd has a great interface. It is also very simple and would be fairly easy for an android developer to make a clone of it. The fact that no one has is pretty surprising. Hooking in drm and zunepass is obviously not gonna fly with ms but that is not what the op wants, and that is not needed. If someone made a fluid zune clone for the marketplace and sold it for a few bucks a I bet they could make a killing.

So you may have Google access music as many of us do. Wouldn't it be great to be able to download Google access music in 320 KBS straight to your computer and not have any complications... If only if only...
But wait! Its possible!
All you need it Google access and you're good to go. Simply go onto your computer, and go to a website called songspout.com
There you will download the application and run it. Stream a Google access track and look at the bottom of the screen. It may take about 10 seconds or so but you may see a little Download looking button where you can download the track you are currently steaming. After that, go to your music and there it is! And if you don't believe its in 320 KBS then just right click on it, properties, details and there ya go. This is wonderful.
Unfortunately, you can only download 5 songs at a time before you're prompted to buy it for 9.99. What are peoples thoughts on this?? Please try it first before giving your thoughts.
Why?
Forgive me if I sound stupid, but since Google Play offers the ability to download any of the songs that you previously uploaded to Google Play, as well as any song you purchased from Google Play, isn't this unnecessary?

Well actually, the google music app only stores a cache of a song. This allows you to do as you well with it such as put it on iTunes for use with an iPhone or iPod or the sort. Or, you can reupload it to google play. What I do is upload it to iTunes and then use winamp to sync it to my device's external SD card where I can play my music in whatever music app of my choice and not just the Google music app. Basically, for those who don't see a benefit to this, you are paying a monthly service plus a one time 9.99 fee for unlimited legal music downloads.

Your missing the point, this software allows you to permanently download (at 320kbps) unlimited music from google's enormous 20mil+ song library. Songs that you don't currently have in your library (purchased or otherwise), but only if you have a current all access subscription. This software is a no-brainer as you get unlimited high quality music.

Song Spout Support is GONE
I just purchased Song Spout yesterday. It worked for 24 hours and then asked me to purchase again. I have tried to contact the developer at his support email and his billing email and have received a bounce back on each address. I have also tried to contact his billing web page but it just times out. I think song spout is dead. I wouldn't recommend anyone spending the money unless you can contact the developer first. Looks to me like he closed shop. I hope we get some feedback from the developer or get an alternative solution.
yes, today it isn't working, that's correct. Also the Website is somehow not working properly (php).
I have also contacted them earlier this morning, no reply yet. But to me the email did not bounce!
I contacted them twice earlier already, because of an issue that some songs are not being downloaded, but never got a reply. So the support is NOT existant.
Anyway, maybe it's just a temporary issue, and they have just to restart their webserver and database, and it will work again then. Let's hope so.
I am wondering how that application works, it seems that the Google Play Music stream is done using flash, and somehow that Soungspout managed to save it removing the DRM.
Song Spout Up and Running
Song Spout is back up and running. I received an email from support that there were server issues. I have tested it this morning and all is well. This is great software and I am really glad it is back online.
I use the software regularly and works great. I am in the US. I know sometimes there are country restrictions so anyone outside of the US that are looking for specific tracks only available here, let me know.
Songspout support
I bought Song spout in Oct 2013. It worked great until about 2-3 weeks ago. Now I can't download most songs.
Emailed support, but my emails are returning error messages - the developer may be MIA.
It wasn't a ton of money, but I'm still disappointed that we can't get basic support after such a recent purchase.
Anybody know how to reach the developer?
-A

Well, it's not working "perfectly" if it gets stuck on some songs.
But I agree it still works pretty well most of the time.
The getting stuck part, though, is an issue I would have liked some feedback on from the developer.
Meanwhile, I've been using MusicMate on my android. It is a major update to the old Cloud Music Importer, and works very well. Doesn't get stuck. Also costs less than Song Spout. I import those files straight into Audipo so I can slow down and loop portions for guitar practice.
Still, wondering the Song Spout developer is still around and supporting the product. I feel that as long as he's taking the money, he ought to reply to support emails.
Yeah I couldn't get any reply from the developer, I only found I had this sticking problem when I was trying to download non all access files.
Just limiting it to songs added from all access it worked great. Didn't know about Music Mate that works great aswell.

Yeah I couldn't get any reply from the developer, I only found I had this sticking problem when I was trying to download non all access files.
Just limiting it to songs added from all access it worked great. Didn't know about Music Mate that works great aswell.

The latest update in Song Spout fixed all the issues that I was having even got a reply e-mail today.
Does Music Mate allow you to download songs from the all access catalog like Song Spout? Or does it just grab the songs that are in your library? I would check it out but my acer is acting foolish atm.
Any way to get it to stop replacing explicit songs i upload with their censored version? A grown man should be able to hear the word **** if he damn well pleases to.
And no, the "block explicit songs" option is not enabled
When you upload a song, it wont use your version unless you're the first to do so. Google wont waste space having a million copies of the same track.
Unfortunately its probably that a censored version was uploaded by someone else.
I would expect them to have one of each up there but that may not always be the case

Does this option still appear or is that an outdated fix?

actually yes it does.
But still, me having to go through thousands of songs to do this (yes, pretty much every explicit song is censored, havent found any of my original uncensored versions yet) is a bit tedious and shouldnt be a problem in the first place. O well, back to power amp with my downloaded music i go.
Interesting, none of my songs ever matched at all. Maybe it's because most of my library had volume levels normalized using Replay Gain.

I love Play Music for purchased/All Access music, but if you're looking for it purely as a locker I would recommend Amazon Cloud Player.
I think that the upload functionality of Play Music is primarily meant as a supplement for things that are not available for purchase/subscription, as there are plenty of issues they haven't ironed out like the one you posted. Hence why it's free, I guess.

its a shame, this freed up 5 gigs of internal for me. Really hurting for a sd card slot now. Though i do have the meenova card reader, i dont really wanna have to keep it in 24/7.
Hopefully someone comes up with a case that has a built in OTG card reader at some point. Thats money im willing to spend without hesitation
Have you looked at Amazon's cloud player? It's really a good solution as a music locker.
Actually I wonder if my accident could be your solution. What if you wiped your Google Music account clean, normalized the audio level of all your local MP3s using Replay Gain (e.g. MP3Gain), and then re-uploaded? The adjusted files may not be recognized as matching Google's tracks, which would then avoid any clean-ification.
Or possibly clean up the ID3 tags first as well. That's one thing I did with all my downloaded music before adding to iTunes (and by extension Google) - fixed the ID3 using a batch editor and applied Replay Gain.

It's extremely irritating and very arbitrary. Everything by Queens of the Stone Age is censored, for example. Plenty of either bands are not. So annoying.
