Hi All,
I'm the Developer of the App, Photaf 3D Panorama and also an Asus eee Pad Transformer owner.
I've made my app fully compatible with the Transformer or any other Honey Comb tablet.
With Photaf, you can create beautiful cylindrical panoramas and view them in a 3D using your compass or by touching the screen.
There is a free version and pro version, so try the free version first:

hmm.. sounds like must buy to me

I am having strange issues using the free version (thought I would try the free version first).
1. After program launches and I start to take the first shot I get a Compass Interference window pop up telling me to move away any interference or re-calibrate by waving Eee PAD in a figure motion.
This then causes the stitched images to be out of alignment.
Note: Even if I wait for this message to show and wave the pad in the air to get rid of the message, if I then start taking shots, when you then look at the stitched images they are again not aligned.
2. With the badly aligned panorama showing on screen I then tried selecting Compass Mode (from the menu top right).
All it shows is a black screen. When you then select Touchscreen the panorama stitched image is redrawn on screen.
Hoping you can cast some sense on these issues.
EDITED: The Compass Issue may well be down to the recent Honeycomb 3.2 update.

I have also had this same issue with the app on my tab. I have this on phone and on tab...so far better luck using on the tab except the issues you described above. This is a fun app when it works how it should.

Love the App, Thanks!!!

Awesome work man. Great app.

When I click on Settings I keep getting a Forceclose error with the Free Version of the app. I attempted to do a panorama shot and it worked (albeit not quite as well as I would have liked). I might consider purchasing if I can be sure that it won't force close when clicking on the Settings button....
Running stock 3.2 rooted.

darkhawkff,
It doesn't force close when I'm attempting it.
Maybe it has to do with the Rom.
Did you send a log report?

excellent ! Nice work and thanks!

Is there any app that doesn't absolutely destroy the image like this when zooming in? (Why the hell did Google do this crap...)
Any other solutions on the Windows side would be welcome too. (I tried printing to pdf, and printing to 17x22 scaled up, but still looks like garbage when zoomed in on the phone, yet perfect on my PC. Any other ideas?)
Following this subject with interest. noticed my pics from my nikon g11 looked like crap in gallery as well, while beautyful on my computer.
I thought it was just my pictures.
I couldn't understand it as they were taken with £700 Digital SLR.
Thinking about it now they are pixel perfect on my PC also.
Hmmm, disturbing this one.
Great, it's not just me!
Yes I'm having trouble with this too

Thanks, this works a little bit better. Unfortunately, I think this is just an Android limitation.
I did find however, that if I zoomed in on my PC, took a print screen, saved as another png, and then used pinch and zoom on the new image on my phone, it did not distort at all, finally. Quite a hassle, but I guess Android just doesn't like zooming.
It's asinine to load up a 2,000px X 2,000px image in it's entirety to dsiplay on an 800x600 screen.
The gallery probably downscales it to 800x600 size and zooms in on that temporary scaled picture.

Exactly. There should be no "temporarily scaled picture". The picture is *physically and actually* changed, which should not be happening.
Especially on this so called "Superphone", there should be no reason that it mutilates pictures so that pixels are completely destroyed when zooming in.
quick question that doesn't need its own thread.
I am trying to install the Nemo Player .apk
When I download the file it downloaded as nemoplayer.apk.zip So I tried in my terminal while in fastboot ./adb-mac install nemoplayer.apk.zip and it said it could find the file. I had the file in the SD card, and in my SDK folder. And I also tried astro, but that didn't work either.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Unzip it
So I've noticed that with Multitouch Gallery, the picture is the clearest of all when zooming in, but still distorts if it's TOO wide or very square.
It will always attempt to fit the width of picture in the width of the phone. So best bet is to have a picture that's very tall and very slim. A square picture or an extremely wide picture is the worst, and will look absolutely terrible when zooming in.
The fact that Google coded it so that it absolutely must fit width-wize, and then distort when zooming in, is absolutely stupid.
Bump, for that banding thread

Is there a fix to make the Touch Pro camera flash less useless?

I'm sure all of you know that the Touch Pro camera flash turns brighter during the actual taking of a picture. The problem is that the camera doesn't adjust the brightness accordingly! The brightness is adjusted during the preview but thats with the camera flash at a lower luminence.
Here are two examples of the lack of adjustment, in comparison to my Sony Ericsson W810 with its flash as well.
Touch Pro: http://www.mylilsite.net/images/compare/sdtpw8v3/tppaperflash1.jpg
W810: http://www.mylilsite.net/images/compare/sdtpw8v3/w8paperflash1.jpg
Touch Pro: http://www.mylilsite.net/images/compare/sdtpw8v3/tpheatsinkflash1.jpg
W810: http://www.mylilsite.net/images/compare/sdtpw8v3/w8heatsinkflash1.jpg
As you can see, the W810 (which also makes the flash brighter during the actual taking of the picture) is properly programmed to compensate for the change in brightness while the Touch Pro doesn't do anything. Whats the point of having the flash if it just ruins the picture?
Is there anything I can install or modify to get the Touch Pro camera to be smarter like the W810??
Bump!
How about disabling the flash from getting brighter during the actual taking of the picture?
You could always:
1) turn off flash in the camera app
2) run nueLight3, htorch, or another flashlight app and enable the "bright" flash
3) run the camera app (which should compensate for the brighter flash), and take the photo.
Sorry to say, i dont think so - well i havent found anything atleast. Had the TP for a year (just upgraded to the Leo a few weeks ago) and never found anything to make the camera take a decent pic (flash or not) in all that time. Sorry!

Hey, thats a good idea!
Unfortunately...
What I did #1:
1) Ran the Camera app and left the light turned off
2) Pressed Home button
3) Ran nueLight3 and turned on "High Beam"
4) Triggered ArkSwitch and selected Camera
5) Took this screenshot with Shake And Save:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
6) I couldn't find nueLight3 running in ArkSwitch or Task Manager and couldn't even run the app again. I was only able to turn off the light by resetting the phone. I guess the error experienced by Camera crashed nueLight3 as well.
What I did #2:
1) Ran nueLight3 and turned on "High Beam"
2) Ran the Camera app (triggered by holding PTT button)
3) Took this screenshot with Shake And Save:
4) nueLight3 was still running this time.
Has your idea worked for you?
@Beeble, yeah I agree the camera itself also sucks (my SE W810's is much better), but when outside or just needing a quick picture.. I'd go with my phone. However, it better be able to take pictures properly with its own included hardware and features . So I want this flash issue fixed.
Are there any other ideas?
I've taped a piece of paper to the inside of the backplate over the 'flash' LED. It manages to diffuse it slightly, but I still get a 'bleed' of light from the direction of the flash.
I think having the ability to adjust the behaviour of the flash LED would be great... If the timing of it could be changed so it goes brighter just before the photo was taken, then dims for the actual shot, it would work similar to red-eye reduction in regular cameras.
Any luck in finding an app to help with this since your last post?
hate to say it but, theres no absoluetly no way you can fix how the flash reacts when taking a picture, HTC is not good at specializing in cameras unlike Sony, but the suggestion the guy above was saying is something i would try out, if it doesnt work out for you, theres no other alternative at this moment
Man, really wish some solution was found, hopefully someone finds one. I just had a bad experience using the flash, it was great to have, but that totally bites how it doesn't compensate for the extra flash at the end. Defeats the purpose of the flash. I got the same error trying with htorch.

Discovered 3D gallery in 2.1

So I was playing with LauncherPro and discovered there's a 3D gallery in the phone now, and it is much much more sleek than mediascape.
When LauncherPro was set as the default home, press the menu button, preferences, Appearance Settings, Dock Background, select custom, and then the 3d gallery appears!!
Anyone know how to access this gallery without all those annoying steps, and use it like a regular app? Screenshots are posted here:

Yeah, I love this gallery.
Two questions:
1. Is there a way to add it to the app drawer in LauncherPro?
2. It doesn't really seem that 3d, as the only time it tilts to show the wall is when I reach the end. What am I doing wrong? I've used Cooliris and know how it should work.
Gallery 3D is only the name, its an CoolIris gallery.
The 3D parts is only when you scroll horizontally in the collections.
No actual 3D presentation more than that.

I get that. I've used Cooliris in Chrome on my PC.
It's kind of hard to describe, but when I pan across my galleries (either using either a swipe motion or the slide scroller at the bottom of the app) they simply scroll by flat. The "wall" doesn't tilt away from the point of view and pan across at a perspective angle as it does in Cooliris. The only time I see the "wall" perspective effect, is when I reach the end of the gallery and try to pan further.
Using readily available online images as an example, this is what I expect to see::
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Whereas this is what I actually see:
Very true. Lol.. this question should be forwared to CoolIris forum instead. The other funny thing is that when you tilt your phone, the gallery is also tilted.

Just bought your pro version. Great app, thank you.
Wow, thanks! I appreciate it.
P.S. I found a bug (forced close) in PRO so I am fixing it now. It will be done by tomorrow night.
If you have any question just let me know.
Thanks, I will do.
I haven't had any FC yet. The only thing I found was the first time I ran it, it couldn't verify the licence. I disconnected wifi and ran it again using mobile data and all was fine after that.
Thanks again.
That is good. FC will occur when images are in bad conditions such as bad focusing. It will not happen anyway.
I am using Google license service, sometime license checking is failed when imo network connection is bad.
Thanks again.
Thanks for your comment!
Good luck with your great app!

Hello, PRO is updated to the v1.33
1. Dubois method (which reduces ghost effect)
2. Fixed FC issue
Thanks!
Thanks for the update.
Just a bit of feedback, It works just fine, the only thing I have found is that if I select a large image (over 2mb), it is resized by the app which is fine. But if I select 'Auto Align' the process starts but then the app closes (sometimes with an FC, sometimes without). If I select a smaller image file, this problem doesn't occur and the process completes successfully.
Thanks, user feedback is always important.
So, I have questions because it is very hard to make same situation with different phone.
1. do you mean the problem occurs when you take pictures larger than 2MP from other camera app?
2. If pictures are larger than 2MP, Does app closing (FC or without FC) always occurs? or sometimes success?
First of all, I restricted picture size to 2MPixel (1600x1200) which is actually 6Mbyte in memory. So, for stereoscopy, at least two pictures should be loaded in the memory at same time. Furthermore, result 3D picture also needs to be loaded at the same time. Then required memory is 18MByte which is almost not allowed by Android OS.
So, I resize selected picture if it is larger than 2MP using BitmapFactory.decodeFile with inSampleSize. Then bitmap is transferred to C++ for faster processing (image matching, resampling, etc). My best guess at this time is that pictures resized by the Android function (decodeFile+inSampleSize) may not give enough number of matching points because of resampling method.
I will let you know when I solve this problem.
Thanks!
The picture concerned was taken from the gallery. I selected the same picture for both right and left. Having selected Auto Align, the close happened. When I select a smaller file (picture), it all runs smoothly.
The problem always occurs with larger file sizes for me. I haven't tested in detail but I think 2mb appears to be the limit.
If you want to try it yourself, here is the picture concerned... I purposely chose it as it was a largish file size (3.1mb).
wooow it look great apps i install it now

I will fix it tonight and let you know when I am done.

DeblurIt is a professional way to sharpen blurry photos. It provides unrivaled clarity and successfully removes motion blur, out-of-focus blur, gaussian blur from your images. Fix photo blur and sharpen non-blurred images with DeblurIt!
It uses progressive algorithms based on deconvolution technology. While commonly used "unsharp mask" filter just detects the edges and adds them to the original image, deconvolution uses information within the image to approximately restore the original state and fix photo blur. Deconvolution perfectly restores photos with large defects, recovering lost details. DeblurIt is the only app that supports deconvolution on Android (28.02.2013)
You can also use unsharp mask filter that removes blur in more standard way. It is the best fit for small defects.
Auto mode uses unsharp mask to quickly remove small blur from the photo.
For those who actually believe the picture at the top is fake: here is zip archive with sample images used on Google Play's page and appropriate settings for the application.

With motion blur it would be nice to see an example of the angle. Is 0 a vertical blur and 90 a horizontal blur?
It would be nice to see a detail of the picture when previewing because on the small image I can't see much details.

Pinch to zoom would be nice.
