Many of the custom ROMs seem to have some sort of governer with a min/max CPU set...
Does anyone know if the stock ROMs keeps the min/max CPU at 1000MHz?
Ready.......go!
G2X
Nvidia uses performance scaling which automatically scales between 1000/216 depending on use.
Please post in the correct section (General not Development). Thanks.

a detailed answer to your question can be found HERE
It's a very informative post about governors over clocking/uv etc...
Sorry kinda sorta

I thought the performance governor just scaled the cpu to its highest at all times. At least that's how it worked with setcpu and my g2

Try upping the clock on ur processor to 384 minimum, & ur better off hearing this from me before u get flamed by the usual suspects on here - only ROMs, kitchens, & kernels go in the development section. Next time use the Q & A section to ask a question, & I would say search before u start a new thread on here too, but the search function sucks on here LOL =)

No such issues here.
If you want to quantify the extent of any perceived performance degradation, install dd-wrt on your router and watch the SNR (signal to noise ratio). Compare it between different ROM's.
Mine stays consistent 40-50 depending on how far I am away from the router, regardless of the ROM. You only need 25 SNR for 54 Mbps.

decks roms are based off of cm7.
@OP
You should probably post something in the thread that is being maintained for the ROM that you are running.
The audience in that thread will give you a better response.

Anyone got any links or provide some input on some questions I have about nstools. I can't seem to find anything on it. A few things I'd like to learn more about..
LiveOC
Deep idle
Touch wake
Lulzactive settings
And last but not least the voltage settings confuse me. what's the difference between arm voltage and int voltage?
Thanks in advance for the input gents.

... no. Not what they mean. Good try though. I mean what each of these actually do. I don't know what liveOC actually does for example. And to the douche above me, search engines don't always lead you to where you want. Search engines won't give you a cohesive explanation of what you actually want to learn about, which is why I'm posting it in a FORUM. Just a **** load of results with the word youre searching for in it. Troll harder and of you can't provide a helpful explanation I'd rather you shut the **** up. K? Good. Now..

HolymighT's link will explain a fair bit with regard to governors and IO schedulers. Also, to use any of these settings you of course need a custom kernel which has these features included.
This Search will probably clear up most of those.
EDIT: I have overestimated the search feature...
Deep Idle
Live OC
Touch Wake
Backlight Dimmer
Voltage Info
Batter Life Extender
Lulzactive Settings Info

Troll harder? Learn to apply yourself. Do you need someone to hold your hand? Maybe you need to learn how to search for information. Everything you asked about can be found on this forum. Via the search feature or using Google. All you have to do is add xda to the end of the word you are searching for on google and it will list all the hits on the xda forum.
Btw telling you to Google was hardly trolling. It was more a polite way to tell you don't be lazy.

You need a custom rom or a custom kernel at least, and then you can install setcpu or system tuner or other utilities to set CPU speed.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Advantages: the max freq of the CPU is forced to be higher than "stock". You will probably never use this unless you do very much gaming on your phone.
Disadvantages: it can lead to less battery life and can potentially damage the CPU if you OC too much. For the Skyrocket a safe OC is around 1.728 Ghz. Don't undervolt if you overclock. That makes for bad juju.
You will need a custom ROM such as AOKP with a kernel that supports overclocking, which most custom ROMs do anyway.
You can UV and OC at the same time its phone dependant I know I've done it as have others you need to experiment that's why I told him to read more because now you have posted bad info

I've done it too. It's very good info, and it is a widely accepted and known fact that undervolting while underclocking frequently leads to a great deal of instability, especially on Jellybean AOKP. Surely you know that as well as anyone on this forum. I swear sometimes you have absolute flashes of brilliance and other times you talk out of your a$$ like you've never even used an Android phone before.
I don't have instability at all I'm on paranoid again its dependant so you can't say it is bad juju its all opinion

I have the 4.4.2 ROM of HellKat and the Interactive Governor selected. I searched to figure which Governor world be best for battery life but couldn't fund anything. Can anyone tell me what would be the best Governor for this phone?
I don't use it much for anything other than texting, checking my email, some browsing, and light game playing. I want the best one for battery rather than performance.
Thanks all and hopefully some person knows and can help!
