Ooopps, just found out, no audio. Will fix this tomorrow but you can test it out.

Downloaded but the file has no extension.
Should I rename it to a zip file?
Then of course flash through cwm?

Must have uploaded the wrong file...Sorry, will upload again. But yes, you can just add .zip and that should be fine.

working fine for fine. OC all the way to 1.6. No problem with audio too (Equal sound on both speakers). wonder if its a placebo effect but speakers sounds slightly louder. Great work.
Edit: Yes, camera is broken, but no big issue. awaiting your fix.

hmm..I'll try to format everything out. I might get my audio working, how about your camera? Is it working? LMK.
Ok, got my audio working, thanks...saved me some time...really have to go now, Goodnight to everyone.

Nope, camera is definitely broken. FC immediately. But no big issue cause I prefer to have a quick multi function device den to have a slow laggy device just for photo taking purposes.

So here's my initial observations.
Set CPU works.
quadrant doesn't. Says internal error or something
I can't go past 1400. Bummer. (Interactive governor)
Seems zippier.
As mentioned camera doesn't work.
Can't think of anything else.
Edit: forgot. The popping sound people have talked about. I have only heard this on a rare occasion but now I hear it frequently. For example till now I only remember hearing it when first typing something. Now I even hear it opening programs. In fact opening my gallery I heard it 3 times in just a few seconds.
Edit 2: YouTube broken also. Tries to buffer then the popping sound. Then tries too buffer...popping...repeat until it fails.
Definitely much snappier though.
Hope this helps!
Look forward to more. NICE WORK!!!

Still have my Gtab that I just bought recently...been trying to get 2.6.36 kernel to boot on that thing but I'm kinda careful because of the bad blocks I made so far. Anyways, got this Transformer and decided to make a few tweaks to get 3.1 OC kernel to boot. As you can see still has some issues Hope asus releases their source ASAP though..

Introducing the first overclock kernel for 3.1 (Hate to wait for Asus to release their source so might as well make it ) plus hate to just let Xoom have all the fun. I used Blades OC source and his advice (darn that guy is good, hope his family member gets better soon). This is my first release for Asus Transformer (thanks to wifey for giving me one). Anyways, I used an old compiler so there might be issues. Please let me know. Have to let the kids go to sleep now. Goodnight!

Steps for Different Features
Steps for Multi boot:
1) Flash Kernel v1.7+
2) Go to CWM Recovery -> Multiboot -> Backup ROM.
3) Backup your Current ROM to ROM1 (It will backup the system.img at /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/romname_ROM )
4) Add the system.img of your 2nd ROM to /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/romname_ROM and similarly for different ROM's.
5) Use the CWM Recovery -> Multiboot -> Switch ROM option to switch between different ROM's.
Note: Ask the developer of the ROM's to provide you with the system.img for their ROM
System Img's:
G3MOD ROM
Grigora ROM
Kyrillos' ROM
Stylooo AOSP Style
DutchMods ROM
XXJPS Stock Deodexed Rooted System.img.rar
Steps for Changing the Max Freq(Dynamic OC):
There is an entry in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/plls_table where you can put your own value for APLL.
Before doing this, set "PERFORMANCE" governor on and min and max frequencies to the maximum.
Code:
// Do this in adb
echo "0 a[SIZE="5"][B][U]258[/U][/B][/SIZE]0[SIZE="5"][B][U]3[/U][/B][/SIZE]01 a14d0303 c07e13fc cf850240" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/plls_table
You need to replace the 258(Hex Value) with your desired value.
Here 258 means
(2*16*16) + (5*16) + 8 = 600
and 3 means it is 600*2 = 1200
Therefore, a2580301 means 1200MHz.
This is a temporary method. For a permanent Method, add this line to a init.d script. Name the script to something like S10_Dyanmic_OC.
Help Others: If you calculate a Hex Value for a particular frequencies add it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG5hdnpsWFdTNExiY2t3dy16VzBvaWc6MQ
You can view all the frequency Hex value's calculated by others over here:

Note:
I am learning how to develop kernels.
I'll add different features as and when i can implement them.
The main goal of this kernel will be to keep the phone stable and fast.
There will be nothing as alpha or beta releases.
I'll give out the kernels directly, but if anything goes wrong and you have to reflash the ROM or kernel, please dont start shouting.
You may give me different ideas on what features to implement. I'll try my best to implement all the features you want
Many of the features implemented in this kernel, are taken from marcellusbe's Fugumod Kernel, and I shall be ever thankful to marcellusbe for the fugumod kernel
Warning:
I am not responsible for any damage caused to your phone (softbrick or hardbrick)

Would there be a how to/guide on how you did this?
Compiling kernel,modding..etc.?

I can do that but the problem is that kernel compiling is easy but modding is difficult.
Even if i post it, there will be a lot of users who dont know stuff, and start complaining about why this is not happening and stuff...
So i would prefer to help but personally not directly on the forums..
So anyone who would like to learn, PM me and i'll guide you as i can

[Kernel][GB][OC/UV][HDMI-MHL] !NEW! Synthesis Kernels <2013-04-30>, plus Infusion-Z
Please post only bugs and testing results on this thread. For general questions and answers visit ---> Infusion-Z and Zen kernel Q&A
*** Synthesis: The only GB kernel you need for your Infuse ***
New features
This set of kernels is a combination of the stock UCLB3 kernel, with all mods from the Infusion-Z kernel (see below), some mods from Entropy's DD, and more. New features include:
- Fix for the wifi drain bug (aka bt-amp bug). In the event that this bug occurs, the kernel triggers a reset of the wifi interface, which stops the bug and saves battery.
- Wifi roaming code from the international SGS2 (roam_api) replacing the stock bcmccx logic. Reduces the incidence of the wifi drain bug. This config is less agressive in seeking out new access points, so you may need to open the wifi config screen in settings to speed up the connection process.
- External SD card (/sdcard/external_sd) is now available in CWM recovery and can be used as a source to flash CWM zip packages
- Entropy512's fast charging hack is included (thanks!)
- SIO and BFQ I/O schedulers added from Entropy's DD (thanks!)
- Voodoo lagfix lady 2.0 :good::good:
- Kernels are attached to this post (CWM flashables) including stock CPU frequencies - 1.2Ghz - and two OC options - 1.4Ghz and 1.6Ghz. If you prefer to flash them using SGS Kernel Flasher, you can download a bundle containing all three >>here<<
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Overclocking and Undervolt support - thanks to bedwa's prior work
- CoreA cpu speeds - 1600, 1200, 800, 400, 200, 100
- CoreB cpu speeds - 1400, 1000, 800, 400, 200, 100
- Voodoo sound driver, voodoo lagfix - courtesy of project voodoo
+ [cifs support] see post #29 for info on how to use cifs
+ [Removed auto-install of superuser] you can get the current su cwm flashable here: http://androidsu.com/superuser/
+ [HDMI/MHL support] using mhl adapter you can play video on most TVs and monitors with a HDMI port
+ [Video support] newer roms no longer need video reverts to allow video to record or playback
+ [External sdcard fix] corrected issue which prevented external sdcard access in some cases
+ [cfq i/o scheduler tweaks] added optimization tweaks for cfq scheduler
+ [Boot animation fix - partial] this is a work in progress - see notes below
NOTES:
Intended for use *ONLY* with stock-based GB ROMs. For CM7, CM9, and CM10 check project OPs for proper setups.
OC/UV requires use of an app like Voltage Control, CPU master, or SetCPU. Read up before jumping in - you can lock or damage your phone with incorrect settings. Remember to save your boot settings in Voltage Control menu to ensure your settings stick.
To get boot animations to show correctly: In /system/media copy sanim.zip to bootanimation.zip. I plan to automate this in a future release. For tips on overclocking and related performance and battery tweaks see the q&a thread.
Important! - Video restore and revert packages are intended only for users of current ROMs with stock library files who have previously applied a revert package to get video to work. If you haven't done this, or are unsure, flash only the kernel package of your choice.
Links to install packages for the first release can be found on post #3.
Source code is available on my github (see signature).
Be safe and always make a backup before flashing!Standard Disclaimer: All packaged builds are provided with no guarantees as to their safety. By flashing, you assume any and all potential risks that running a custom kernel might entail.
Recommendations: Wipe cache and dalvik-cache when flashing a new kernel. Disable any oc/uv settings from phone before flashing a new kernel.
Overclockers/Undervolters: If your phone is unstable when running at a particular overclock speed, choose a lower max cpu speed - not all phones have the same ability to handle oc speeds. When undervolting, do your research first and make small changes.
Big thanks to those who helped test this and prior kernels: qkster, mikig_mkd, boogman7, scott.hart.bti, aeonit, mikig_mkd, nwinfuse, texcowboy, tankmorph, prairied0gg, madman_sle, cmeyal, atk, and jdt352 Thanks to bedwa, entropy512, linuxbozo, and netarchy who laid the foundation (and built the house) - especially bedwa and entropy for helping me out along the way. Known Issue log
- Flashlight function disabled in quick panel after use of video record or playback (restored by taking a flash photo, turning on flash using "Tiny Flashlight" app, or reboot)
- Some reports of random screen color change after disconnecting charger (restored by lock/unlock or reboot aka "faerie snot") [Fixed with the UCLB3 base - 4/30/13]
- Some reports of racing CPU on ROMs with tweaks [Racing CPU issues appear to be caused by modifying "ro.ril.xxxxx" cellular radio settings in build.prop. To fix, remove those tweaks (referencing a standard UCLB3 build.prop), or flash a near stock rom like r.e.v.e.n.a.n.t ]

Nice, bro. First.
edit: Alright. Now that I got the 1st post after op claimed, I will add some more relevant info.
Nice work, Zen. I know you've been putting a lot of time into this.
Let me be the first to say thank you.
I hope this will be the first of several new additions.
Kernel development is a task onto itself.
Kernel devs are a rare breed indeed.
Thank you for taking the time to give us some options.
Now we have the options of OC and retained some video capacity, even though we are using older libs.
Can't want to see what you can do. It will be a beautiful moment to see a stable OC with MHL fix.
Awesome work, bro.
edit: 6.5.2012: Well..MHL works. OC works.
Can you make me look cool so the hot chicks will dig me?
really nice job, zen, keep it up

Very awesome... Cant wait to see the upcoming progress with this kernel. Thank you!
Just wanted to point out that on emancipation, my benchmarks skyrocketed using this kernel.
some strange dark magic going on in my phone now...

[KERNEL][ROM][MS2][09-06-2013]MS2Ginger 4 / 5 < Heavily Modified ROM>

Hello Guys.
Little History
I have the Milestone 2 about a year, and the User in xda for 2 days.
I Do like The CyanogenMod 10 and the JB AOKP but since they dont support fully HWA and 720p Rec i sticked to the MS2Ginger GB Rom, also games are slower , benchmarks lower , and with all the beauty of Cyanogen , something lacks there for people who want to squeeze the milestone 2, beacuse the only reason I sticked to GB is P-e-r-f-o-r-m-a-n-c-e!
The rom itself is fine but I wanted it to perform as fast as the Phone can.
Then , I Just Modified and upgraded it more and more, until it was too good to be not published here.
so , after 4 monthes of Customizations and , Moddings and Upgrades I Must Share this awesome rom.
<also Overclocked it the highest possible - over the whole internet couldnt find people who could push that far , but that's off topic)
So What happened to This Awesome rom since I Have it :
- CM Integrations for Android 2.3.7 <Kernel can be even 2.3.6 \ 2.3.4 thats OK>
- The Most usable feature for me is 720p Record on 30fps , using the stock version of Gingerbread does give the 720p but it's too laggy, so I used new M4V Encoders + 10Mbit (Better Quality , surprisingly didn't decreased FPS) + new Stills driver (related to video record because in the ms2g stock and in every BLUR rom it looks for the exposure in the stills camera .so files = In Short , Video is Smooth on 720p @30 FPS as it should be , and as it is written in GSMArena.
- New cool Theme <Look at pics> , New Bootanimation, Transformed from CoreDroid Theme pack.
- DSPManager with Custom libs , Ok , this is one of the better things that happened to the phone , dsp libs are now supporting 10hz Low Bass instead of 16hz (but 16 hz is still shown in app.) , Furthermore , neccessary for In-Ear users LPF Compensation fixed and the bass is tremondous <using good earphones of course>.
- OpenGL TextuereBulldoze libs included <can perform better with ChainFire>, useful due to the weak GPU power so it pushes the SGX 530 chip as further as possible.
- I/O Calculator libs Ported from Droid 2 Global - also gives some more performance.
- YouTube HD Version , yes,the new YouTube that was meant to be ICS / JB only is here (Version 4.1.23) , the older version supported HD but it cached really bad so it buffered alot , now it works better ( little buffer on 27 fps hd clips , but 24~25 fps hd clips are cached now easily using fast WiFI of course).
In Coclusion ,the ROM is Super in terms of performance and reliabilty, easily compensates for not having CM9\CM10\AOKP Roms.
Note: I Used a Customized Kernel which gives 1450mhz core clock (Compiled with Linaro 4.6) , although it is faster , it isnt very stable for daily use and has limitations like battery 0% or Full signal but its not all the time , anyways , I attached the latest boot image so you can use 2.3.6 latest kernel.
Note 2: I Recommend Using Latest GB Kernel and so i will attach it.
Enjoy
Installation Guide for n00bs
1. Place the Folder in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup <it's currently as Nandroid Backup , will be a ZIP as soon as i fix my custom kernel , beacuse I couldn't check the zip , Im pretty stuck on CWM 6 with this kernel.>
2. Boot to CWM based Recovery.
3. Restore the ROM.
4. Reboot , boot again to CWM but this time it'll be the new CWM 4 recovery from my rom! for a better allocation of /data (uses different mmcblk)
5. Now Wipe Data & Cache.
6. Enoy The ROM ,Hope you'll like it!.

I'll be glad
I tried to integrate the boosted OpenGL libs and the 720p rec into ICS and JB but it just won't boot for no reason.
I've tried adb debugging - but nothing , it showed error in syntax and rebooted again and again.
the OpenGL libs succeeded being ported to JB but when clicking the "Performance" tab , the Settings.apk immediately crash , I know it's related to the hash code checking of CM10 because it worked like a charm in MIUI.
Great work!
But I really wonder what is the vsel setting for 1450MHz?
Since I tried my phone can be overclocked to at most ~1330MHz at 80vsel:crying:

I can tell that there isn't much difference between 1330/1350 to 1450 , the big problem isn't the Vsel , it's just locked.
somehow I got a good piece , that can get above 1400mhz , with custom kernel.
it wasn't meant to be used daily though.

Depends on your core clock , but if comparing to stock gb , of course this rom is power efficient because of using better scheduler.
Nice rom mod. Will give it a try on my defy with some changes.
Nice! Have you tried adding droid x governors from the forum?
And what about using v6 supercharger? Lets see if we can squeeze more power!

Good to see MSginger return, one of my favorites.
Good job.
It looks nice and I will probably give it a try!
Just quick questions - how is the speed compared to CM10 and CM7 and to stock ROM?
(I suppose it is way faster than CM10, faster than stock ROM - Am I right?... but how about a comparsion to CM7... is it faster than CM7 or about the same or the CM7 is noticeable faster? Thank you very much for response on this! I'm currently looking for the fastest ROM on M2 and I have definitely eliminated CM10, MIUI and stock Froyo ROM... Currently looking around CM7, this ROM and stock GB)
Thank you for your work!
You should probably add to your "noob guide" that you can only reboot into your custom recovery by pressing "Volume Down" when the blue hardware led appears at the upper right edge of the screen.

Yes , and one more important thing - it will show a blue led but not the green led because it is set to 'normal' instead of '2nd-init'

Speed must be greater due to full HW Acceleration , that means even faster phone on 3D apps. , about CM7 , it should be the same on I\ O but greater at some CPU massive apps.

I really wanted to use V6 supercharger script and the Kick Ass Kernelizer , surprisingly performance dropped both on Multi tasking method and on Aggresive 512HP thats because it overwrites some of my parameters that were already boosted better.
and for the Droid X mod , of course i put it in , but only the SIO Scheduler works <boostedASS v2 crashed>.

related to kernel? Seems moto did a lot of trick to prevent us optimizing the phone
May I know if the kernel is the same as the CM10 one? (below is the link)

No , i didn't check the CM10 kernel yet (becuase I can't boot the rom with it , however it is related to quality of the phone itself <I got a good one>
the limitation is in Voltage.
above 80 Vsel your phone will bootloop , literally
the phone somehow gets me get a really high core clock while keeping Vsel < 80.
I know that with stock kernel It will not suffice (80 Vsel for 1450mhz) so i'll have to push the vsel higher and then i'll bootloop , so that my assume it is pretty related.
try your luck with that .
please note that when the Bootloader will be unlocked , limitation will be only the core's <don't really know how much , but rumor has it that the single core TI OMAP can reach 1.7ghz , can't imagine how the battery will be..
Please ignore, I managed to fix it. The problem was with Windows 7.
Just trying the ROM and some observation:
- it's pretty fast (in compare to CM10)
- some keyboard layout switching (for HW keyboard) would be nice... I'm going to resolve this manually via adb.. but it's annoying
- what's bothering me at this moment is that I'm unable to lower the ringtone volume down to the total mute - it just stays on vibrate... I'm unable to go to total mute (without vibrate)..
Any help would be nice.
Just for other people, who are wondering to try it - it has about 200 MB of free RAM without apps running and it installed without any problem through restore and wipe data.

of course I try to get it as fast as possible with many tweaks and configures.
about ringtone it locks on Vibrate mode for comfort , you have a button in quick action ui < where WiFi , BT , GPS and all> also you can slide the right slider in Lockscreen.
also Music player integrated to lockscreen.
BTW. RAM freeup is set to low intensity for better multitask , while handling large Dalvik Heap , that's great.
Thanks

- Use asus batterysaver for (as the name sais: powersaving)
- use asus balanced mode for gaming or heavy loaded apps (this is not oc too much so it wont burn ur hand away)
- use asus normal/performance mode for daily use (surfing, browsing apps, just the normal daily use (except gaming!!)
- if you have our own frequency setting, i recommend for gaming: 1600MHz CPU Quadcore max. and 600MHz GPU max

OK more issues to report I'm afraid. Went into system tuner. Default governor was set to conservative. Changed it to pegasusq and system tuner froze. Then went to the market to update some apps, started downloading and tab rebooted on its own. Had another reboot when it finished loading.
Back to _that 2 kernel and all OK again. This kernel needs a bit more testing mate. Let me know if you need some help.

I think it's good to keep all here in this thread. I don't want "technical" details, but a simple common sense for common users. For example:
SmartassV2 - For heavy multi-task users but still save on battery.
Got my point?

i havent tested much atm because i dont have as much time as i wish and my free time is testing new kernel features/versions. but pegasusq and row/vr should run great with also good battery.
brazilianwax is a more aggressiv smartassv2 version.

OK, thanks, I can do the testing myself, not a problem.

Hundsbuah,
Thank you for the new update, I have a favor to ask, is it possbile you can make a data2sd version of this kernel? I'm runing data2sd and it's definitely smoother than the regular, I would like to keep the data2sd andn try out with your kernel. I already tried your kernel version 1.2 and it's pretty smooth.

Cpuquiet
Hello Hundsbuah, thanks for your kernel. I posted this in _That's kernel section. I installed a kernel on my HTC ONE X that has nvidia's cpu Cpuquiet driver driver implemented and it makes a huge difference in battery life (20%-30%) without sacrificing performance. I don't know if it can be implemented to tf700t, but it would be great if it did. Here is some info:

ive asked mr.muffin/_that if the changes in fstab.cardhu are the only changes to make a data2sd version of the kernel

Thanks i will test battery life and will report to you. In my HTC ONE X i have to use fauxclock program to activate cpuquiet. Do you know if it can be activated by a script?
edit: I had 2 reboots with the test kernel. I don't know if it is because of cpuquiet or if you added other features too. I didn't have any reboots with the normal kernel.

Your data2sd version is not working. The data should look like this in the fstab.cardhu file:
/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /system ext4 noatime,noauto_da_alloc,nodiratime,barrier=0,nobh,ro wait
/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /cache ext4 noatime,noauto_da_alloc,nosuid,nodev,nodiratime,barrier=0,nobh,errors=panic wait
/dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /data ext4 noatime,noauto_da_alloc,nosuid,nodev,nodiratime,barrier=0,nobh,errors=panic wait,encryptable=footer
/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 /data2 ext4 noatime,noauto_da_alloc,nosuid,nodev,nodiratime,barrier=0,nobh,errors=panic wait,encryptable=footer
i havent released a data2sd version yet
if these are the only changes, give me 5 min i will make an data2sd version
/edit: data2sd version added in first post

I will give it a try and report back. Your kernel is getting better and better, I think it's going to be one of the best custom kernel since Clemsyn. Good work!!

The - latest wifi ROM- version you uploaded in the CM12 thread also includes your kernel as presented here?
Is it possible to include colour profiles in the kernel? Love it on my nexus 5! Looking forward to seeing this move forward
Also is there a rest of world lte version in the works? Thanks

Yes, I always compile CM 12.x with my kernel version. The 12.1 is totally experimental.

Take note for colour profiles but I don't know how complex it can be... I'll be studied, sure.
About LTE RoW (wx_un_do) vs LTE US (wx_na_do) they are totally compatible as @Steel01 and me have seen. I have LTE RoW model and actually use wx_na_do compilation. In the future, perhaps, we will create a specific branch.

I will be away a few days so a lot of sleep time for the tablet Will report
Here's some cpu state time info for u. 51mhz is deep sleep right?
With CPU Spy you get how long the device is in deep sleep: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011497
Cpu spy capture for u. I've been running it like I stole it all day.
I don't have installed CPU Spy but BBS reports that it sleeps like a baby.
Got a spare apk for bbs by chance?
Download Better Battery Stats XDA edition here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15869886&postcount=2
Just wanted to let u know the mic issue was a gapps thing, the minimal edition has problems, went back to pagapps (the final 03/15 one) and if I flash this kernel on steels cm12 it works perfect. No sound fc either. The ONLY issue I found is moving to SD. Still says no room even after the folder mount patch. Battery is great btw, thanks much for the work
