I have edited an apk after i unzipped it. But now i have problem to merge it back to apk. Can somebody teach me the steps to do this? Thanks.
I think an .apk is just a zip file basically so try to zip your files again and change the extension from .zip to .apk
i have tried but the apk file cannot be installed in my phone.
Probably because the file was signed and you did not sign it with the correct key again.

does anyone here know how to convert a .zip to a .apk the correct way? im trying to edit my notification pulldown bar and make it semi transparent, but when i take my systemui.zip file and try to rename it to .apk via root explorer and then replace the original systemui.apk with the modded one, it does not work, leading me to believe that im not converting my .zip to .apk correctly...how do i do this??
You need to sign an apk for it to work. I have tried many of the auto sign apps but can never get them to work for me.
Just rename it to systemui.apk an apk is basically a zip file but you have to name it that.
i have been extract the Whatsapp.apk into file to edit some of file and i now i want to make it back to APK, i have been trying to make it .rar and then rename it to.apk but always error,thank you alot
Repack it to .zip and then rename it to. apk.. It'll work as a system app but if u want it to work like a regular downloaded app,u have to sign the apk..

done i found the trick
I've downloaded an APK in the internet and successfully installed it o my Android, then decided to modified it. So I did the following:
Copy APK file to my Computer
Change the extension to ZIP
Extract it
Edited it here and there (Actually I just replaced the splash screen)
Compress it with ZIP
Change the extension back to APK
Put it to my phone
Can not be installed. When I trying to install. It said "Application not installed."
Any suggestion guys?
this is not the way to modify apk. use apktool.
Just want to know this. Because it is really annoying to decompress and recompress apk file again and again just to edit one file inside the apk.

i want to made some changes to an apk file..firstly i unzipped the apk file and made changes to it..
but i dont know how to zip it back.. i made a zip by using winrar and 7zip,but it showing me error!!
