[Request] allow original poster to close his own thread...

Please allow posters to close their own thread. It's ridiculous! What is so harmful of us closing our own threads?
I think it is beneficial, for example:
1) OP feels harassed: closes thread
2) OP learns that there was already another, more prominent thread of the same issue: closes thread
3) OP wants too closes his upcoming software update but doesn't want to read other's post issues that he has fixed on the next version.
etc...
Why can't we close our own threads? Delete our own posts?

LOL you are right. But I think you're been following me, you're like responding to every post I make.

I think that Orb has several comps and as many arms as an octopus
Getting back to reality tho..... i agree in that we should be able to close or delete or own threads, i mean how many times (no matter how experienced you are) have you posted something after too much wine/beer then re-read a post in the morning and thought....... [email protected]#K..... i obviously didnt read that properly or didnt grasp what was being said through the haze of ones ignorance/arrogance/confidence...... i mean, apart from orb we are all human and make mistakes yes?
Give us the choice to close/delete our thread once, What harm would it do, a mod could always change the action of closing the thread if they thought it could be useful at some time?

Yeah there was this one guy who posted in the Xperia forum and all he said was: DELETED (or something along that line)
I would understand how deleting one's post would harm the fact that the conversation becomes hard to understand due to the loss of dialogue. But maybe atleast add a feature to delete double posts, or a feature to disable double post until you wait 2 days.

Why is that I have to spam 10 msgs elsewhere before I may post to the dev forum I want to?

They don't want you to spam, they want you to answer questions & help people out. If you need to ask a question you can pm the OP.

Considering most mods don't ban or warn noobs about posting OT dumba$$ questions in the dev threads, it's completely pointless. Whatever, just play along.
Check your phones general section, there may be a "discussion" thread regarding the project you wish to provide feedback on.

Agreed. It's kinda lame, but I understand the point. Like DJ and sigma said, it keeps people from hitting that New Thread or Quick Reply button unnecessarily and forces people to actually search and read..

I can understand the reason behind it, but it forces to spam 10 messages..

Anyway, I really don't think this is an efficient way of moderating forum... any kid can make 11 posts and troll dev topics, it's actually happening, I'm following Xperia ThGo development and there is a loooot of rubbish. Guess there's a lot of it around the place.
So, the limit is not a weapon, it is a good moderation. Like on AudioNews, for example. If you write junk, you get a BIIIIG red exclamation mark over your post.

I have a problem with new version of this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060). I update kernel to r14 (and it's work on my version 3.1a), then I try to update rom from 3.1a to 3.2a, but when I instal it (installation was successful), my phone show my on start:

Fortunately I make backup earlier, I restore it and it works. But I want to try this new version of NexusHD2 rom... Any ideas?
How I instal it? I go to the CWM screen (i have cLK) i chose st like "instal zip from SD" and i chose destiny of "NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7).zip", maybe I forgot something?

[Q] Captchas

Every time I try to respond or post to this forum, I am prompted for a Captcha. Is this normal? I have very bad vision (200/800) in my left eye. It took me like 10 minutes to post my first thread because I can't see to get past it! In addition using the audio sucks horribly. You can hear what is said. Can anyone help me with this? Does this go away after a certain amount of posts?

it is works only in firefox
you can send any site image to read and
they will send the code and
just paste in to the filled
thats all

If you have reach the minimum post the captcha automatically remove by it self.

yeah i believe it goes away after getting 10 posts.

In my opinion it is really hard to read the captcha and fill it in correctly without listening to it. And the audio even worse. I don't understand a word

There is a delay between your 10th post and having your account blessed. Usually it is less then an hour before the system blesses your account by changing your permissions. If it takes longer than a few hours you can post your issue into this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976627
Make sure to mention that you have waited a few hours before posting.

Yes.
Posting spam/non constructive comments will only get them deleted, though, so try to help others out in the Q&A section, for example.

Including image links in first post.....

Hi, well technically this is my first post now, but I just did some nice screenshots and resizing and then uploading to some image upload site to get links so i could put them in my post showing why I was replying all together and after eh, 25-30 minutes of captcha reverifying, image uploading and storytelling bam, no outside links allowed?
Why even have that little button to click seriously I would of never uploaded to get the links if that little icon didnt ask for one holy buckets. My post is still in a second tab because sure as eff am not redoing it 10 posts down the line when the topic is old news, is there anyway to add pictures before 10 posts?
Develop a greyed out icon that gets unlocked after 10, great idea which should bam 10 helpful posts due to 10 sets of eyes that thought it would be helpful. Saving my other post until i hear back, i understand the reason behind it, just cruel to enable it up until submit. It was a reply to the sprint spark speed wow thread. Pics are of everything said to be needed but my results terrible, pics help alot to show. If no way to post I'll leave this as my first and last post, no offense and I respect the rule, just dont need to post that many times so il stick to google.

I too find this frustrating, got a problem that I need to illustrate with images, type up my post add the images and...not allowed. It would be easier if there was a message like there is in the development forums.

I am a new user. I am trying to post images but I can't - is there a way to do this?
