Ditto. I have not had a single issue running this ROM (full wipe install after reverting from Das BAMF 2.0).
Not sure what you mean by "solid reasons". This ROM is rock solid (no reboots, no FCs, etc.), fast, gets good battery life, looks great, etc.
BAMF Remix 1.6.3 was running great for me. I loved CM7 but was missing phone calls when I had service.
Now I'm on BAMF Stripped 1.7. For being Froyo and Sense-based, it's a beautiful ROM. Simple and you can flash the AOSP contacts/dialer after flashing the ROM to strip even more of the Sense elements.
I've settled on PlainJane as my daily driver, selectively debloated using the free Super Manager app. I enjoy the stock sense experience. I tried running Das BAMF but I cant get past the font issue in gmail (unread mail looks exactly the same as read mail). That issue by itself is a deal breaker for an otherwise fantastic ROM.

I'm using das bamf 1.7 and I don't have that issue. My gmail read mail is not bold, and it is shaded. Or is it unshaded? Either way, very different. Have never seen that issue with any bamf. Hmm
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Well that's good news. Perhaps this was only an issue with 1.6.3 or maybe it was something unique to my phone. Either way, you've given me the perfect excuse to try 1.7!
On a related note, I spend WAY too much time screwing around with the TB. It's easily the best gadget I've ever owned.
Tried pretty much all of them. I settled for the latest rooted RUU. The only one so far that data doesn't drop all the time on. Battery lasts me better. I removed some of the bloated, but stock otherwise.

So I had posted something about being glad I didn't mess with GB and apparently offended a few folks, wasn't my intention so I'll apologize.
That said though, what non-GB (safer) ROMs is anyone else using that isn't incented enough to risk the GB ROMs?
Go with Bamf remix 1.6.3. Very stable and nice.
BAMF 1.7 with everything stripped out is my favorite. Extremely fast with lots of extra features.
Sadly I am currently on stock till I get my warranty replacement phone today from Verizon
I agree, I prefer das BAMF myself as well.

I stuck with BAMF for a long time before trying The Perfect Storm, will check it out again. Thanks.
rocking Virus rom still haha
Bamf will definitely be the most popular, and it is well deserved. Its a strong, solid rom. I'm enjoying 1.7 right now, and its probably my favorite non-gb rom
Virus it seems comes in second.

I was running BAMF remix before GB and it was great. Good battery life, nice looking theme, no reboots or freezes for me either
Another solid alternative is Thunder ROM v1.0. Been a great rom for me and my wife.

I'm running bamf remix 1.63 and very happy with it. Gonna check out remix 1.7 later on hopefully
Hey guys quick question I've been working with my brother in laws t bolt.
When you flash a radio from hboot is that like fast boot before recovery?
and since he is rooted what rom its solid and should I flash so I don't have to revisit it again I had das bamf 1.63 running but have had a few reboots and gps locking issues

Do you have the Gingerbread Radio currently or froyo. If you have Froyo I would def go with BAMF Stripped its a great rom with great battery life and none of the crappy sense. If you have Gingerbread then go with the GINGERITIS rom which has been running great for me in terms of stability and battery life and ofcourse the uber cool sense 3.0 lockscreen with shortcuts.
And for your Hboot question it is is the white screen with little androids at the bottom . It will tell you if you have S-ON S-OFF and other information such as what radio you are running.

Truthfully, ROM choice is a matter of personal preference and whatever anyone tells you here is just their opinion. All of the ROMs for TB on XDA are in the Development section, so it would do your brother-in-law justice to have him pick what he wants based on the features.
Ill recommend Liquid Gingersense. I used Liquids ROM's throughout the year/s with my Original Droid 1 and they were fantastic and Ive stuck with them ever since. Always very fast and stable and usually its updated quite frequently.
Go for the sense 3 preview from Adrynalene. This thing has the best eye candy I have ever seen. If you are looking for something speedy, any of the stripped ROM's would work or CM.
Try them all

this s on or off in hboot screen is that a seting I need to adj?
Once you have permanent root you should have s-off. I if he suffers from random reboots I suggest he run the stock radio the device was shipped with. I have the stock radio and have never had reboot problems. I've tried both das bamf and CM7.

Started out w Chingeys Perfect Storm. If you want to stay froyo, Stay with V1.4. Or today I switched to DroidTh3ory 3.5.1 if you want to try GingerBread!
Both smooth and solid choices
Mike
what is the best rom for the thunderbolt? The rom that has the least issues with 3g/4g and overall?

Seriously though everyone can just put pretty much every ROM in here as they all work different for different people. Your best bet is to decide if you want GB or Froyo, flash that radio and then try out a few different ROMs until you find the one you like.
Bamf roms are great, cant go wrong with them

Bamf must be the ish
Bussin Caps n 3D
I've tried the lot of them. Ran Synergy for a bit, and was quite happy with it, but came back to BAMF after some major issues with my Slingbox.
I've found that a lot of the ROMs out there are good, but in my experience BAMF has the least major bugs/issues.
In the end it's all a matter of taste, preference, and your own personal needs.
All that said, I'm currently running BAMF 3.0 RC4
Leaked stock MR2 ROM and radios.
bamf remix!
Liking Bamf 3.0 RC4, came from Bamf Remix 1.8. Think I may go back and wait for the Remix of the 3.0.
So my vote for best would be the 1.8 Remix
I like rc4 of sense 3.0 but my battery life is draining so freaking fast is unbelievable and I am not even using the phone, which i knew what settings to use on set cpu
Mine seems to be dropping a little faster too, but not super noticeable. Have my CPU at 1.2, others default.
I personally like the CM7 roms coming from the OG droid. It's a matter of taste but i like the fact the CVPS is on the team now for mecha. It's a non sense ROM and doesn't have the "bling" but runs great. Its got a few bugs but nothing that will make you not want to run it. Going to give bamf a try again now that i've updated my radio. Just try a few out and see what works for you.

+1. Flyweight Final is rock solid with excellent battery management on my Tbolt.
My personal favorite thus far is dasBAMF 1.8.6.
I love the BAMF 3.0 RC's, but they need a little more polish for my liking. Probably won't hope over completely until the official GB rom and source come out.
I am really enjoying BAMF 2.1 Stripped. Miss sense a bit, but the ROM is supper smooth and the battery life is the best I have experienced.

Depends. Do you want Sense? I personally do like Sense.
Loving BAMF 3.0 RC4
I've been using ****AO5P for a few weeks now and it's absolutely amazing. I don't really know what else to ask for, but is there anything better out there?
Well shiftsense was just as fast and had the same battery life but I recently switched to bamf 1.0.7 and I like it. Lots of mods and themes and same speed, not amazing on battery life but that's okay

I too use BAMF, on double shot right now love the landscape mode on home page.
If I helped you in any way please use the thank you button
I've tried a bunch and have settled on BAMF 1.0.7
i've tried em all, but sticking with cm7 for now.. i loved bamf forever, but switched a few days ago because the call answer and sleep of death bugs were too much for me to handle.
ShiftAOSP for AOSP Rom and my rom for a sense Rom.
how do you run two roms at the same time?
Synergy for me.....the latest build is working awesome for me. Was on bamf soab but the "end call" bug kinda scared me away, other than that it was a good rom. Synergy just works for me

Lol nandroid is my friend we go way back!
I guess my fav is stock rooted. I'm in bamf now and it has some really nice features but I don't see any big advantage over stock rooted. I'm going to try to give bamf a week b4 I make up my mind though.
I'd love an open source rom but I keep reading about one bug after another. I like everything to just...work.

If I run into either of those bugs I'm back to stock rooted. I went into bamf tools and chose 2.1 lock screen so I hope that will prevent the end call bug.
The sleep of death bug wont bother me too much as long as it is very rare and the phone can be turned on. Sleep of death to brick would be bad
Sig says it all...

Nice typo.

Son of a Bliss is awesome. If you like sense 3.0, you'll hate it after you try a sense 3.5 Rom. I always hated 3.0. Too laggy. Sense 3.5 FLIES!!!

BAMF forever, smoothest sense rom out there IMO
I was never an AO5P fan but when i tried SHIFTAO5P HACK3ED and i absolutely love it. However i was a Bamf fan when i first rooted, switched to Infused Theory and loved it when 3.0 was added so i think i will have to try 3.5. I have seen videos and it looks good. Link? im not seeing it in xda, he move like theory did?
Edit: nm google told me
wow his list of bugs looks annoying? =/ ill try but i think it will be a 1 day thing. thats not to say ShiftAO5P Hacked doesnt have bugs but i have foud a few but i can live with them.
Yeah I began with minibamf which was vanilla also then I started messing with cm7 mods and stuff fell.in love, as I progressed I thought shift ao5p hack3d was great but this new romicied iBolt Tom based off OC he aforementioned rom is SOOOOO FAST

I did a clean install of Weapon. Rebooted and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rebooted again and let it sit. Then I flash New Clip and let it sit for a bit. New Clip flashes over Weapon. Then I flashed my favorite theme. Stayed with the kernel that comes with it. I have never had great luck with alternative kernels and I really have no need for overclocking.
Kwes has an ICS like theme that looks great. Then I added ADW ex and loaded an ICS theme for it. I am very happy with the setup. Been running it this way for several months.
I have been playing around with the V6 Super Charger script but for whatever reason I seem to run out of memory faster when web surfing. I am still learning about everything it does, so I am not 100% sure that it is set up correctly for my needs.

Using latest version of Eaglesblood with faux kernel. It's stable, and battery life is awesome. I'm not into ROM swapping. When find one that works, I stick with it, and it's looking like I'll be with this one for a while. Maybe when an ICS ROM gets refined, I'll give it a go. I would like to have Chrome on the android.
Using CM 7.2 RC1 with faux ds kernel. I get about thirteen hours of medium use, light use lasts a couple of days.
It's a great stock rom without the problems of LG based ones.

Im currently rocking...The latest and greatest... seriously Sooo many INCREDIBLE roms to choose from its hard to keep still. however... i recently gave miui (singh)another shot just for fun and am currently hooked. AMAZED at the smoothness and utter sexiness of the theme engine and GIGANTIC selection of themes. This will definetly keep my interest for some time! the ui is different and fun too. Only Con so far is the normal CM7 quirk (upside down video chat), nothing too big to keep me from rockin it for a while.

Actually looks fine. But I notice more stutter than before, perhaps the ICS animation is bogging it some down.
Still a fan of CM7/Cm9.
I can honestly say, I'm sticking to the G2X despite having a Galaxy GS2. I truely enjoy the Cyanogen ROMS and can't wait for it to come CM9 on G2X and GS2
Also that Samsung is too big. Should have waited. Not sure I'll get any device over 4 inch screen. But thats me
