i know this may seem like a step in the wrong direction BUT i prefer the hero style application drawer opposed to the nexus one launcher. does anybody know how to get the hero app drawer onto the nexus one? ive tried themes from GDE and pandahome but they leave much to be desired. i guess i just got used to the app drawer on my rooted G1 and mytouch and i want it on my nexus now too! my N1 is rooted and running Cyanogen's latest rom. im not familiar with adb but i know how to install files through a file manager and im learning to use metamorph as well.

If you are learning metamorph, the closest you can get is to make it look like the hero launcher. Resize the images from the launcher/res/drawable, and put them in your launcher2/res/drawable-hdpi.

But the thing is if you put the hero images in the L2 then it will look odd since the left and right buttons function differently.
i should have been more clear lol...i downloaded metamorph the other day and i have been toying with applying themes and such. i dont in fact know how to create the files necessary for creating the metamorph.
to be quite honest, id be satisfied with "pandahome-hero" except for the fact that it wont work with better cut or live wallpapers. the launcher buttons work perfectly on that theme but better cut/live wallpapers are a deal breaker for me.

The phone icon in Panda Home Hero is off a little and I can't stand it xD.
i hadnt noticed that....until now! hahaha
Open home (on the market) can use a Hero skin. I would much prefer a metamorph though... I want the same thing...
There are plenty of themes for the messaging widget, making it more transparent or changing the colors of the buttons to access it, but the inside of the app itself is still white and uninteresting.
So, can someone please theme one? Or, if it's been done, send me to where I can find a themed stock messaging app? Maybe a black background and green text? or hell a black background and many options as to the color of the text. Just something that isn't that drab white. It doesn't go with any rom I've flashed.
If anyone can do it, thank you!!!

1. The widget is full screen, transparent and simple. Hancent you consistently have to click on the little picture, then menu, then "all threads"...it's annoying. Also, in most themed sense roms, the widget is themed but not the app itself. So in myn's rom, everything is dark and transparent...but when you open the app, it's boring and white. It's like you're only trying to make the home screens look better and nothing else. Also, you can't theme the widgets from chomp or handcent, so unless your theme happens to look like their widgets, it looks out of place and you're boned anyway.
2. Handcent and Chomp have ads. Ads are annoying and make the product look cheap. I even paid for chompsms ads to go away and they came back. I left a strongly worded e-mail...and review...and i tell people not to get it.
3. the stock app is faster and takes up less space than the 3rd party ones and can't be uninstalled. You HAVE to have it, so why can't someone spend some time and make an app you HAVE to have look a little better?
4. Gmail, menus, the drawer launcher, the drawer itself and various other stock programs are themed all the way through, why not the messaging app too?
I would ask for the stock sense mail app too but I don't use it enough to really care. The messaging app I use 200 times a day minimum.

I love the look of the stock messaaging app in CM6 and would like to have the same thing on a sense rom. Im sure its possible some how.

I've always wanted this also. I didn't think it was possible since no one has a themed mms.apk in their rom, so I never posted about it. I did use the cm6 version of AOSP but for some reason mms never worked. Hopefully some of the great developers on xda can get this done for us.

1) With LauncherPro plus you can have a messaging widget that displays messages from what ever messaging program you use. Its great, I love it!
2) I've never tried ChompSMS because I love Handcent and I've never once seen an advertisement except for an ad for one of their own services within the settings menu. Such a tiny infraction is something I cannot fault them for given how long I've been using their otherwise ad free app.
3) You're right on this one but its really not a concern. On my old MyTouch 3G, I worried about it, absolutely. However, given that Froyo offers the ability to install apps to the SDcard there is absolutely no reason to worry about space. Its just silly. Its akin to being worried about fitting a six pack of beer in a Suburban.
4) No clue, so I'm not going to address it.
Please realize I also have not gotten the courage to try and root it yet haha. Anyway, I was wondering if there were any apps or widgets out there that gave the phone more options to customize it? Such as changing the colors of boxes when you highlight them, different "skins"(the 3 you can download from HTC are pathetic), etc?
Also, anything to customize the battery/LED notification? I downloaded one but it wanted full accessibility...and it was just a pretty little battery widget that changed colors. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm visually impaired using the DroidX 4.5.605 rooted.
Up until this Verizon update I've found my phone usable, but I need to do something to restore the usability I once had.
1. I would like a high contrast interface, though some have suggested black backgrounds and white text, I would also be ok with the opposite.
2. I would like to double tap to open items. Right now areas like SETTINGS open on signle tap.
Can someone recommend a theme and / or a ROM that would allow me to have both of these features?

I have rooted my HTC Inspire 4G (At&T) with Ace Hack awhile ago and just pretty much used it just to change fonts...I was looking for some themes to install onto my phone but I was wondering if the themes had to be spacifically for Ace Hack? Also, I know you can change fonts and remove stock apps ect. with a rooted phone but can I change font color or would that depend on the app I install?

wait, wut? The Ace Hack Kit has nothing to do with changing themes. Basically you have some options. Some ROMs have themes built specifically for them. ARHD for instance has some themes that can be flashed. You can also use the UOT kitchen to customize a theme for yourself, it may not be as inclusive as a true theme but it does a good job at getting almost ever aspect. You can also use a different launcher, i.e. Go Launcher or something different, and they have themes for each launcher.
Fonts can be changed by using the font installer app. the color of the font depending on what font you're talking about can be changed with UOT kitchen or with a theme you use. Hope that helps!

haha not a problem! yeah ROM specific themes are few and far between, especially since the ROMs are updated often which sometimes causes changes in framework which in return causes the new to update the theme. You can always try ADW launcher, they too have some themes. If you aren't opposed to CM based ROMs I know they have a theme chooser app as well. UOT though seems to be the best option short of learning to theme that gives you the most customizable experience.
