[Q] Keyboard long press keys not working - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After the upgrade to 3.1 I can no longer seem to use the secondary keys on the stock keyboard. If I long press on the "." to try and get "?" nothing ever seems to happen.
Last night I even rooted which in turn formats the system but the problem still persists.
Does anyone else have the same problem or know how to fix?
Thanks

Hardware keyboard problem: pressing s or h crashes phone

Hi all,
I've got a strange problem with my wizard:
When I'm pressing s or h on my hardware keyboard, pocket outlook crashes and the phone becomes extremly slow - in fact, it's unusable. Amazignly this only happens, when s or h are at the beginning of the sentence (as the first letter). All other letters are fine.
The problem came up a few days ago - but I don't know what I have changed in the meantime...
Im using TNT 11.0.2.0 ROM (WM 6.1).
Any idea?
Regards,
Rudi
Is it definitely at the start of the sentence only... or could it be when you haven't pressed another key for a while, wherever you are in the sentence?
There is the feature which runs send & receive when you press and hold S. I think H is help. There are other press and hold combinations too.
It is a long shot, but maybe it is related to that feature somehow? Maybe if that feature isn't working correctly it could cause the crashing whilst it tries to load that feature. In fact the first time it runs, it asks you to confirm a message telling you how it works. If that screen got to the back somehow, maybe outlook is left waiting for your input, but you can't input OK as it is behind the current visible screen.
Of course it might be something completely different....
I tought something similar but could not find out, which function will be startet pressing s or h.
So I did a hard reset and installed everything new, and after the hard reset, s and h work as they are supposed to do. This indicates, that some software I installed (and couldn't remember what software it was) installed a function which did not work properly.

Rudi

[Q] Random Clicking on Samsung Galaxy S

Hi there,
I seem to be having a problem with random clicking on my phone.
The other week, my phone was making phonecalls to people without my permission. On the same day, everytime I pressed the home key, it would open up contacts, select the fifth contact down, and try and delete it. This wasn't a lag issue because of pressing on the screen while it was frozen, this happened everytime the home key was pressed.
Today I also had this random clicking problem on SMS messaging. It started when I was pressing the backspace button to delete text. It would keep pressing the enter key about 5 times everytime I pressed the backspace.
The only fix I have found is turning the phone off and on again.
My phone is currently running a custom rom and is rooted, but it was happening even when my phone had stock firmware and was unrooted.
Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix this?
I would rather find a fix for this rather than take it into T-Mobile as obviously my phone is rooted and theres a chance my warranty is void.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] ICS home button doesn't work

I've rooted stock ICS for my TF101 and I've only exeperienced the random reboot once. But for some reason my tablets home button does nothing. I've pressed it and the animation plays but it doesn't do anything i have to use the back key to get to the home screen. Does anyone know why this might be? I've tried rebooting it with no luck. I haven't tried resetting to factory yet.i want to se if anyone has any insight.
Anyone knows a fix for this?
I have the same issue except mine is not rooted. I will root it later and see if that changes anything, although i do not see why it would.... Please help??

[Q] TF700 keyboard keys not working (top row)

Hey, i was wondering anyone else was having this issue.
I have the Tf700 with the TF700 dock and everything was working great until recently. All of sudden now some of the top row of keys do not work/dont do anything when i press them. My: wifi switch key, bluetooth key, turn off touchpad key, and the screen brightness keys do not work. All the other keys on the keyboard work. Ive only had this tablet and keyboard for 3 weeks. Ive rooted and unlocked and its been working perfectly fine until this morning i went to turn off my touchpad, since it gets in the way of typing sometimes and it wouldnt turn off when i used to the Touchpad off key. Is there anything that i can do to fix this issue?
Try rebooting your tablet. Happened to me once, too. A reboot fixed it.

i tried that and it didnt work. I finally figured out what was the problem. I accidently turned off com.asus.keyboard process when i was editting my start up programs and disabling certain ones. So once i reenabled it, it worked fine
Thanks for your help though
