Hi Everyone,
I just bought a pre owned O2 Mini S. GR8 pda phone but I found difficulties in getting my MMS working. No drop down list for MMS selection at Messaging? Only have Outlook email and Text Message... !!???!!!
MMS Inbox is not available. But MMS Configuration tool box is there under Menu. I did tried to set up MMS setting but still could not see my MMS Inbox.
Anyone?? Any idea how to fix this issue?
I'm currently running on:
ROM version: 1.5.4.2 WWE
Radio version: 01.09.10
Protocal version: 4.0.13.20
ExtROM version: 1.5.4.102
** I know this is old.... old version. Perharps anyone could guide me through changing to the latest version. I'm a newbie, detail instruction will be very much appreciated.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Check that you have "MMS Configuration ..." available in your Outlook Menu.
If you don't then something has seriously gone wrong. Did you install the "ArcsoftMMS-TuMa.cab" file through the EXTROM or manually? If not - do so now. MMS is NOT available in the Base ROM.
Click it, and just ensure that it comes up and is active. The about should say "MMS Composer Version 3.0.7.11"
Click [ok] and close it.
Menu -> Tools -> New Account
Enter "[email protected]" as your email (doesn't matter what). Click Next.
Detect settings ... wait ... Click Next.
Enter a username "mms" will do. Click Next.
Select "MMS" as the Account Type. Click Next.
Incoming Server = "mms", Outgoing Server = "mms". Click Finish.
Finally ... click "NO" to not download mail for this account.
Now go back to Menu -> "MMS Configuration ..." -> Servers
Edit and modify the "Sample Server" to your required settings ... (which I can't help you with)
Presto ... you now have an MMS account.
That is a qoute from WiKi. It is for setting up MMS on a Blueangle (02 XDA IIs). Hope you have some luck. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for your instructions but still I'm kinda confused with the followings:
1. Step 2 keep saying connecting...... but nothing happened. I have already setup my mms configuration according to Optus setting.
2. Step 3 where it asks to select POP3 or IMAP4 ? I just click next. So it's on POP3. I tried to find MMS but not available as a choice.
3. Finished up with the rest and it is good that I have the MMS category under messaging.
4. I tried to do one mms to myself but failed as the input field TO will only takes an email address but not a numeric phone number. Gosh !! Somewhere went wrong again..... ~sigh.
I have the MMS Composer Version 3.0.7.14 under Arcsoft. I don't know how to install any *.cab files. Maybe you can let me know. Do you think if I do a hard reset will help in getting everything back in order?? Or since I doing the hard reset, may as well update the rom. What do you think mate ?? Any version recommended ??

http://www.seeo2.com/user/XdaIImini/template/XdaIImini_ROMUpgrade_May2005.vm this is a link I found on 02 site so it should be stable and there should be good instructions to upgrade your unit and it says it has a MMS client. I am sorry I can't help with any recommendations or tips or tricks on the upgrade. I think it may be worth upgrading if you are going to hard reset it as you will loss all your data either way and if you are thinking of upgrading it may be could fix two things at one time.

Thanks Krinkiespijer. It works with the help of the download mms CAB installer. Gr8 stuff. I did a soft reset and the mms folder is still there. No problem at all.
Once again, thanks all people for their help and advises.
Everyone here seems to NOT have figured out the internet calling part of the crossbow. So I thought I would start a thread for that.
This is what I know and have researched so far.
1. There is a HELP section on the crossbow that talks about Internet Calling Providers. But there is NO application that is visible to configure them
2. Looking through the systems files, I found this DLL: voipphonecanvas.dll
3. The above DLL is not documented and maybe is the DLL for the Today Screen or the Tab in the phone settings.
Please add what you have found out or researched about this. Any links to any hint of documentation OR talk would be great.
I have also read the help file for the internet calling, and the feature is CELLULAR CARRIER dependant!
In other words, it's not a standards-based SIP phone. This would be a 'feature' (translated: extra charge item) that your cellular provider would offer.
I am also disappointed about this. Was hoping for more!
Voice over Internet Protocol, also called VoIP, IP Telephony, Internet telephony, Broadband telephony, Broadband Phone and Voice over Broadband is the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or through any other IP-based network.
Companies providing VoIP service are commonly referred to as providers, and protocols which are used to carry voice signals over the IP network are commonly referred to as Voice over IP or VoIP protocols. They may be viewed as commercial realizations of the experimental Network Voice Protocol (1973) invented for the ARPANET providers. Some cost savings are due to utilizing a single network - see attached image[1] - to carry voice and data, especially where users have existing underutilized network capacity that can carry VoIP at no additional cost. VoIP to VoIP phone calls are sometimes free, while VoIP to PSTN may have a cost that's borne by the VoIP user.
There are two types of PSTN to VoIP services: DID (Direct Inward Dialing) and access numbers. DID will connect the caller directly to the VoIP user while access numbers require the caller to input the extension number of the VoIP user. Access numbers are usually charged as a local call to the caller and free to the VoIP user while DID usually has a monthly fee.[2] There are also DIDs that are free to the VoIP user but chargeable to the caller.
Cossbow also contains a file called ipdialplan.xml witch is used by the voipphonecanvas.dll. How to configure it is beyond my knowledge.
I read somewhere voipphonecanvas.dll interacts with radio rom that comes with the crossbow. Since we don't have that rom we won't get it to work.
Pitty, I would really like to get this to work.
Cheers,
Cacti
Ipdialplan.xml
Here is the IPDIALPLAN.XML if any one can that has NOT seen this can make sense of it.
Could not upload the XML file so had to add the .txt entension to it.
I dont understand it but it looks like cammands like a dial up modem
Example: AT & FX.....etc.
The XML file is similar to that used with other VOIP solutions. My guess is that the main thing that needs to be changed is the host name which should be the DNS value for your SIP provider. The application would have to have a username and password (or deviceid and password) to register the device as a SIP peer. Has anyone been able to get the application on the today screen to say anything other than "Not Available"?

Could you post a similar file from another provider if available ?
The IPDIALPLAN.XML file contains a set rules that use regular expression patterns to tell the VoIP client how to actually dial the other party. You can see that there are patterns for 11-digit, 10-digit, 7-digit, 5-digit, and SIP URI rules. These are all the possible SIP address/number formats that you may dial. The only real configuration portion seems to be:
Code:
<dialplan-header>
<host>#use_sipsrv_host_name#</host>
</dialplan-header>
Where I would assume, as others have said, that you replace #use_sipsrv_host_name# with the name or IP of your SIP server.
VoIP
VoIP would be great on our Wizard. I have SunRocket at home as my VoIP, and many others probably also have Vonage. If we can somehow configure the Crossbow ROM to natively support the VoIP services, it looks like the Internet Calling can be automatically turned on when you're in a hotspot connected to Wifi.
I guess the cellular provider will have to figure out whether to allow this. I can foresee that if you are with Cingular, which will be AT&T Wireless, which will AT&T offers CallVantage as their VoIP service. So, potentially your phone can be both a wireless mobile handset as well as a VoIP handset.
It would just be like using our phones for Skype, but Skype is not using the standard SIP protocol, while our Microsoft phones will support the official SIP stack. I bet a lot more vendors will jump on this.
When Wi-Max come out, perhaps we won't even need a Cellular provider, and will have a VoIP provider for our mobile phones. How's that for some competition? Can someone say FREE long distance?
Talking about CallVantage
AT&T CALLVANTAGE WEBSITE: said:
........ When dialing into service remotely, you may incur additional access charges for non-local calls, hotel service charges or cellular mobile charges. Video calling available between AT&T CallVantage Softphone customers only (up to 2 additional callers) and requires video camera (not included). ..........

hmmmm.. The above is the disclaimer for the CallVantage Softphone at the bottom of the page here.
Yes, that was what I was referring to...dialing rules. The SIP clients typically use these types of rules which you can see in systems ranging from very complex (e.g. Asterisk) to that in the XML file. The XML file doesn't have enough information on how to actually log into the SIP server such as the userid/deviceid and password...just a placeholder for the sip gateway.
hjkl;' why no delete?
Skype
Does anyone know if skype allows VOIP calls without using their software? If they have generic settings, maybe they could be used here.
If someone here has CallVantage, could you try using your seeting in the XML file and see if you can enable the VOIP service on the phone.
Change ipdialplan?
I was going to put my sip server in the dialplan but how can I change the ipdialplan.xml file? It is set to read-only and system file.
Here Are The Sip Values Needed To Make It Work
Here are the SIP settings from ChallengerMobile. Can someone figure out where to put in all this data? The Only One I figured out was to add the HOST name on the top line. But I guess the rest are just rules. Which other file might there be to add all these values?

Use Total Commander to change the Read Only property of the file.
modifying the host information has no impact...I still can't get the application to list anything other than "Not Available"
didn't this app was design to communicate with the radio rom that came with wm6
I have the MMS settings, but can't figure out where I enter them in on Windows Mobile 6. Can anyone give me any guidance. Thanks!
Looking for a place to put in:

Forget it, I figured it out!
What network is this? Do you know the settings for Cingular?

If you have figured it out, would you please make the solution public? (I'm having the same problem finding the right place to enter the settings..)
Setup program for european operators is available on htc's website at
http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcs710.html
This sets up all gprs/wap/mms etc. Not sure about USA.

Hi everyone!
I'm running mightyrom's newest RhodiumW 6.5. I installed the MMS fix 2.1, and here's my issue:
technically, i can try to send an MMS. But every time, it says, "message delivery failed." I remember months ago, I had to manually change some technical settings for it to work, but I can't find that thread anywhere.
Any advice?
Hiya everyone,
So, I looked around, and finally found it. Here's the original:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=101356
Here's the highlights:
JUST GO TO MESSAGING TAB>ALL MESSAGES>MENU>SETTINGS>OPTIONS>MENU>MMS SERVER
THEN ENTER THIS DEPENDING ON YOUR CARRIER:
To Get Your MSID Number Dial ##778
Server name: Your Choice
IP Address: Blank
Port Number: 80
Server Address: http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/MMS?X-SPRINT-MDN="YOUR MSID NUMBER"
Connect Via: Whatever you data connection is
Send Limit: 1024 KB
I don't have sms/mms addin on my phone. If I install MMS fix 2.1 cabs for sprint. Will that fix it? If so were can I find the cab files?
Did you install Arcsoft MMS? That is needed on Mighty ROM. If you're on the regular Mighty ROM and not any of the special series ones like WAR, then all you need is the Arcsoft MMS cab. Uninstall the MMS 2.1 cab, that's for the roms that use Sense 2.5 and install Arcsoft. Even on Mighty's newest WAR ROM, now it has the 2.1 messaging built in, so for that also, you need Arcsoft. Attaching my version to the post.

These directions are for Sense 2.5 messaging, which still haven't worked for me.
Try changing the WAP version.. That is what did it for me (that is after I got to the point where it let me edit the settings) I have included a file from NRG that is supposed to work for all sense 2.5 to let you edit the MMS settings more... It worked for me..

You have MMS working using htc messaging with Sprint??
Hi, all.
I purchased a factory unlocked HTC Radar for my wife.
We happen to be using a carrier that requires specific MMS gateway settings, as well as certain user agent settings for the MMS client.
Autoconfigure seems to be working for things like voice and data, but I'm unsure if it is correctly pointing to the MMS gateway that is necessary. I'm wondering if there's a way to check what MMS settings the phone is using.
Furthermore, I'm trying to figure out a way to change the user agent. Apparently this carrier checks for user agents for sending (and maybe receiving? I can get MMS though...) MMS.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi,
I'm interesting to know how to change MMS User agent on mango too.
You could try HTC connection setup from the market (using my tmous hd7 on simple mobile and works fine). Or if the settings your looking to change is within registry try diagprovxml which can be downloaded on xda. Same thing basically except HTC connection setup has the settings built in to it. Just open connection setup and tap the "..." at the bottom and choose manual select.

htc connection did not resolve the problem. I have diagprovxml but i don't know what key put inside or change whit it. i need to change user agent of MMS to solve that.
Try to find out the reg edits needed for windows mobile... Alot of those registry parts are the same but use a registry editor on device to double check existance of those keys before changing registry with diagprovxml though.

I just got changed the MMS settings on my WP7.
Following my directions in thread 20634899 post #43. Make sure to read the whole thread as well as it gives some insight on the files you can use.
