Infuse won't stay at WCDMA Only - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hi guys
I need my phone to stay always @ wcdma only
So..
I did *#*#4696#*#*
Set it to WCDMA Only , but it's not saved ...
it comes back to GSM/WCDMA auto (PRL)
I also tried *#2263# (as I did sometimes with my captivate)
But again , with no luck .. I can't lock it at that specific frequency
any clue , someone ?
ps.
TIA

Turn off 3g on the fly

So far my Touch Pro has been great, but the battery life has been a bit lacking.
I'm wondering if there is a program which can turn on and off 3G easily and quickly, but without rebooting the phone, so you can turn on 3G when you want to surf the web for 10-15 minutes, but turn it off for the majority of the day to conserve battery.
Any ideas?
Regards
If your ROM has Band Selection enabled, go to Settings -> Phone -> Band and you can choose GSM (2G) or UMTS (3G)
What do I change? Under Select Network Type there's Auto, GSM, or WCDMA
or under Select your GSM/UTMS band there's Auto, GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100), GSM(1900+850)+UTMS(1900+850) or UTMS(2100+800)
At the moment both are on auto. Which do I want for just GSM and which would I want for 3G when I want it on?
Thanks for the reply
you would want Select Network Type to be set to GSM for GSM/EDGE only, and WCDMA for UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA.
(the other setting is to choose which frequencies you're using)
It would appear that there's exactly the app I was looking for which turns 3G on and off. It's here

I cant change WCDMA to GSM..Need Help

Last few week I am suffering of network problem, I cant choose manual network, I asked operator about this they says that I should turn off 3g but there is no option like 3G but as I read on different thread that GSM(2g) and WCDMA(3G), so by mistake I changed from Auto to Wcdma.

[Q] Preferred network type CM10.1

In CM 10.1, going into *#*#4646#*#*, by default the network type is always WCDMA preferred. I want to make it permanently stay on WCDMA only or GSM Auto (PRL), but this setting never seens to persist across reboots.
I know it used to stick in CM7, but ever since CM9 I haven't found a way to make it stick.
Anyone know how?

I think "WCDMA preferred" is the best one/most stable one.
because if you select "wcdma only", you will have no data connection when you have lower signal.
with "wcdma preferred" it change to the 2g network to keep your data connection connected (lol), so you wont get any data interruptions

I have no idea

What you described is exactly what GSM Auto (PRL) does, except GSM Auto (PRL) uses a pre defined list to choose which setting, rather than WCDMA preferred which constantly pings around to find the best connection at the expense of battery.
Where I live there is full HSPAP coverage, that's why I don't really care about 2G, and by keeping it on WCDMA only I will save battery compared to WCDMA preferred.
But I have still not been able to find a way for the setting to stick. I even tried editing the default connection property in build.prop but that didn't seem to work either.

[Q] Can't get 3G only E

Hello all.
I bought a Galaxy Core from the Middle East(2 Sim cards) and tried to use it in America through Strait Talk. The phone is working fine and the only problem I have that I can not get 3G just E (EDGE) which is so slow. I put my Sim Card in a Galaxy S III to make sure that the Carrier provides 3G. As soon as I put the Sim Card in Galaxy S III, I immediately got H +. But when I put it back in my Galaxy Core I got E.
My area covers 3G
APN setting is according to Straight Talk instructions
Any idea why ?
I would highly appreciate your answer and help!!
Check network mode - maybe it is set to use only 2G. You can find it under Settings -> More settings -> Mobile Data

Mode is already set to GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode). I can use this option and GSM Only option. I can not use WCDMA Only option. If I chose WCDMA Only, I will loose the the whole mobile service. Thanks a lot for your help and time.

Look You can't use 3G on both SIM at the same time. So choose WCDMA only on the SIM you want to use 3G and use WCDMA/GSM on other SIM and this might not be allowing you to choose "WCDMA only" so better check 2nd SIM connection type.
and yup it is common that network disconnects while change the mode of connection. It will be stable after your option is set.

I too have an issue with my Samsung Galaxy Core prime sm-g360t, my 3g is not working n I've tried LTE/Wcdma/gsm, buh it's still not working
actually ..our galaxy core now became as trash ...even i faced the same problem but there was no fix except an workaround ...the thing is lots of companies has put many features in their "new" SIMs and galaxy core is unable to process those(hardware problem) but if you use an old sim like 2-3 yrs old it will work for you ...after many many googling i had nothing in my hands but solved it by using my old sim ....just take someone's which is old and see if it helps ....
