Hi guys,
Is it possible to install? How can I do?
I already looked here on the forum but do not find any conclusive answer.
It looks that the Desire S do not have the root accessible to be able to instal the Gtalk version with video. That is correct?
Thanks.
indeen, root is needed for the modded gtalk with video chat. so without s-off there's no new gtalk.
if you have s-off + root, here's the place to look for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793
It can help others....
I am using an alternative app, it is not 100%, but runs fine.
Search on the market for VTOK. It is Google talk video chat.
I think Desire S need to be rooted to use it
I use Fring

Does anybody have or know of a rom thats available for a 3uk HTC Kaiser that will operate the applications of 3uk? Namely email on 3, U tube and maybe MSN, but must operate email on 3 as stated earlier.
Any help would really be much appreciated as I am new to all this !!
Regards
Razor
I've got a Kaiser on 3 using the AthineOS v3.2 rom. It works fine on planet 3. The 3 MSN client isn't available for the Kaiser yet and I've never used youtube but I can confirm that I've used email on 3 in the past on custom roms. The main thing you need to do is make sure the PIE user agent is set correctly so that Planet 3 know you're using your kaiser.
You can use any kaiser-compatible rom with the phone but make sure that once you've upgraded to the rom that you change the radio to a suitable one I'm using 1.70.19.09 and it's great

Why repost http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469490
You can set up any email provider on all ROMs
You can view YouTube all ROMs as streaming media player is included or YouTube app
You can install MSN
To use 3G video calling you will need a ROM with a 3G Dialer or install one yourself.
Hope that helps.

I think he means usuing the 3UK specific services as 3 has it's own java client for msn and has paid for access to youtube. I installed email on 3 earlier and it works fine with the AthineOS rom
Thanks Gav,
Can you explain the radio part in a little more detail or lead me to a link that tells me about it? and what does PLE in you email.

Soz for taking ages to get back. Didn't realize u had replied. The radio is critical for a lot of the functions in the phone. You can't be told which radio will work with your kaiser/rom/network, you have to try for yourself. Go to http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserROM_FlashingFAQ for more details.
By PIE i mean pocket internet explorer. Apparently now Planet 3 doesn't check the user agent so you don't have to worry about changing it
Requesting the apk file for the new gtalk with video chat. I have the new 2.3.4 but would like to use video chat over 3g/4g not just wifi. I saw one under the android forum, but would like a confirmation that it is safe to use on the Nexus S on 2.3.4
just found this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063767
Just mod the sql database everybody.
I am looking for a Skype support video. I done some research and I installed the leaked one for the thunder and don't let me to install. Any solution?
Is there any news on this? I am due an upgrade, and would really like the Sensation, but i need Skype video calling to work!
I thought you answered my question JK. I really get tired of looking. Nothing work at all nothing support video chat or nothing every chat I downloaded just normal chat. Hopefully someone get with an a solution. From what I read online 2.3 does not support any video chat at this time. But there is some program you can use for video calling not chat like Tango. The thing I am really wishing is Android to have video calling by default like Nokia which when you call a number it asks you voice calling or video calling. Android is great but need a lot of work. At this point iPhone is so much better more than any Android phone out there. I really start to hate Android in general there is no support at all, Nothing growing. Everything is fixing bugs Ubuntu it's great but never complete like Windows or Mac OS. But we don't have any choice for right now just wait and maybe the companies will support and upgrade their apps.

Hi guys,
I just got miself first android phone. Coming over from long time nokia user (since first symbian phone) I need some time to adjust to the new system and feel. Anyways I installed skype from market and I cant get video talk to work. Is this not available for this phone or I'm doing something wrong ?
I searched around for skype with video for my model but no luck.
Thanks
At the moment is not available. There's a mod around xda for enabling skype to other devices but I don't know if it works with the chacha...
I uninstalled skype from market and tried few skype installation I found around the web for 2.3.3 android. Now when I search market to install that working skype again it doesnt display skype anymore. What did I do and how can I fix this ?
I am wondering if anyone knows when a 2.3.4 rom will come out because that is when google added official support for video chat to talk. I know I can use apps like qik, etc, but my wife would really like to be able to do phone>PC chat so she can talk to our niece.
So far the apps I've found that do phone>pc chat don't support the sensation yet. I was hoping root would help me get a proper 2.3.4 rom.
There is a hacked version of gtalk that make it posible to use audio chat and see video chat of others but the sensation cam wont work.
Just search for gtalk video chat 2.3.3
Just try this:

In case gTalk doesn't work with HTC Sensation, And if you want to use skype for video call from phone to PC, you can download a "special" version of skype in the link below:
http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-...deo-works-android-2-3-3-skype-2-0-0-47-a.html
Hopefully it works for you. I know mine works!
