The title says it all, any word on root on the stock 3.1? I didn't have root on 3.0.1 either, and I don't really want to go through the downgrade/upgrade process, I am waiting on a 3.1 root.

If you go through the down then up then you end up with root now. If you are waiting a few days/weeks for someone to come up with a direct 3.1 method you save maybe half an hour on the process. Do the math.

Yeah, that's a good point! So far it seems to be flying along, but I may just go ahead and do the downgrade/upgrade thing, I'll see things go.
I personally think its rude to ask this if you're not working on it yourself, but either way this thread does not belong in the dev section. Its nothing personal and there are a few others on the first page that shouldn't have posted here either.

As far as wanting things to be posted in the appropriate section, well this section is for developers/development. Questions can go in general or ask a Mod to make a Q&A section.

Because the Dev section is for ACTUAL developments, not questions about developments. Questions about developments go in the General section (here) and when the development comes into place, a thread about the development is made in the dev section. The mods aren't really on the ball with closing/moving threads, that's why it looks confusing, but head to the n1 section, or the g1 section. You'll see what I mean.

I'm assuiming you mean on the latest gbread leak ee03?
Now, I don't think its a missing feature, but rather something about the status bar is broken. If you notice while you are in the music player app, the icon for the music player controls pops up in the status bar, but pull the bar down and its gone. And as soon as you leave the music app the icon disappears as I'm sure you're aware.
I believe its the status bar and not the app that's the problem since the same symptoms occur with the fm radio (haven't tried pandora yet)...even tho fm radio is borked lol

To an extent I can understand getting tired of the same questions over and over. I can understand if someone asks something on page 284 in a thread that was potentially answered all the way back on page 56 of the same thread. But when the answer to the question is three posts up (or a page back)... yeah that's being absolutely lazy.

You have a valid point. However, when you say it with cursing and misspelled words, it puts your argument on a foundation built on quicksand.
I generally do not like reading through 10 pages of comments in order to find possible bugs and such that go something like:
"WHEN'S THE NEXT UPDATE COMING OUT???!!!" or "THANKSSSS WORKS GREAT ON MY PHONE!!!!"
People can say those things (at least the later one [no developer likes hearing about ETAs]) in the normal forums. Save your praises for the said ROM there guys.
However, I don't expect it to change, because most of those that would be doing that would also not care about reading this thread or changing their habits, sadly
Mostly, the forums just need more consistent moderation of topics to prune out posts that aren't needed in development threads or have them relocated to another forum/thread where they can be seen, but not deleted.

Today (10/27) I got notified of an OTA on my Skyrocket, and I haven't heard anything about one. I am running 4.0.4, rooted, with CWMR v5.5.0.4.
I did a nandroid backup, backed up all my apps with TB, and set SuperSU to survival mode. Then I let the OTA download, it installed and then it rebooted - into recovery. I continued the reboot from CWMR and when it finished the boot, the OTA said it was interrupted and couldn't finish. I cannot find a zip file on the phone anywhere to manually flash.
Tried this twice with the same result. What is going on? Where did this OTA come from anyway? What should I do? I think rebooting into recovery is interrupting the process somehow, but I am at a loss as to what to do now.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

YOU CAN NOT INSTALL A OTA WITH A CUSTOM RECOVERY READ THE 10 OTHER THREADS ABOUT THIS OTA

In his defense I was able to find an answer to your question on Google fairly quickly, but then again I have no clue what you Googled.
Still, the first reply gave an answer to your question and crazy came in well after that was posted. He didn't have to, yet he went out of his way to make you feel like crap.

OTA Update can not be Done on Rooted phone. Not worth going back to stock for this Little Update. Wait for Jelly Bean....
He didn't make me feel like crap - complete strangers do not do that for me. It's just annoying because posts like that can drive people away.
However, I did feel bad after I realized that there were several other threads on the same topic. I usually make an effort to avoid duplicate posts, but in this case I was in something of a hurry. In any event, I found my answer - I'm not taking the update, it's not worth the effort to go back to stock recovery.

You know whats more annoying?Those REPEATED replies you get on threads talking about how its the same repeated questions again.
Let me break it to you, You aint helping with your repeated insults or whatnot.
It's not like if you say "oh this thread again" or whatnot, the thread will dissappear.
If you're so annoyed at these repeated threads which you know will periodically occur, then IGNORE IT and dont post.
I find threads all the time like that by googling, and what do you see ?Those same repeated annoying replies which arent contributing to the thread, even though the thread's been repeated.

Not really. Not trying to start a pointless internet fight here, but all you could had done was browse the first page of the Dev section and you would have had the answer you desire.
We have a port right now, but it's more or less something to flash on your phone just to see if it works for a few minutes.Then afterwards go back to the rom you just backed up.

I've been running Vincom's Superlite Official JB for a couple of months because I've found the need to play some 5GB files on my SD. I know the recoveries now support ExFat on our phone, so is this code that can be added in to the other roms (AOSP, AOKP, CM, etc.) as well? I miss the flexibility, speed, and battery of the others even though Sammy and Vincom do a good job with the Touchwiz integration.
Why is this in the dev section you are asking a question and are not providing an original work someone please report.

Really? I didn't read the forum rule? I've only been a member since 2006. This board has a rep for being a bunch of a-holes because of these types of policies. It's not like I asked "what is touchwiz" or "how do I reboot into recovery". It's this kind of thing that keeps us from getting even better feature sets and keeps everything so fractured because there are 6000 ROMs that are 90% "there". I've posted plenty of help in the past, though I'm no dev, but I'm done. I'd love to hear someone clearly explain to me how this is a "Q&A" question more than it is a dev question. Now that you've moved it none of this will get any attention anyway so ban me if you like, I can have these conversations elsewhere and still get what I need.
P.S. FWIW my original reply had more about what I really think about crybabies like the original "thread reporter", but at least Kenny was nice enough to PM why he made the move as well, even though I disagree with it. If anyone wants an uncensored response, and my account isn't banned, PM me and I'll gladly share my thoughts about this BS.

You act like you understand the rules yet you decide they are arbitrary. Dev section is for development purposes only as in actually providing work, not some kid who wants to ask a question. I'm the "thread reporter". It was in the wrong place. I reported it. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and figured it was a mistake. I also tried to save you from the "wrong place" posts. Had I known you where actually just an idiot I wouldn't have done it. People like you are the problem with XDA. Don't try to turn the tables. Respect the rules or leave.
Looks like there's no reason it can't be done with fuse. Someone has a flashable zip for the s3 and cm10.1. I don't see any kernel modules in the zip so you might be able to use it on the skyrocket.
