I am looking to upgrade my Tmobile myTouch 3g Slide. I am not due for a contract upgrade till next year. I was looking at the HD2, myTouch 4G, and the Vibrant. I am wanting to run a gingerbread sense rom on it like the salsa port I am running on my slide. Problem with the slide is no room for user apps when running a sense rom.
So my question is, what of those options gives me the most of what I want. Large user app space, fast processor, and a gingerbread sense rom.
Thanks for your help.
Bump. Anyone got an opinion? I don't think there is a sense rom for the vibrant which sucks. it has the most user storage. Guess that means the mt4g or hd2. What do you all think?

What phone is better overall? A rooted HD2 with the best Sense UI rom (or froyo)
Or a Stock Mytouch slide? (Even a rooted mytouch slide for that matter, because I'll probably end up doing it anyway) Thanks in advance.
I would choose the HD2 just for the fact that I run WM and Android on it plus I like the huge screen!
Had a slide and traded for a hd2 and haven't looked back since the speed on android is amazing the slide is a dead phone get the hd2
Sent from my hd2 aka tmobile evo eatin on some froyo
I know it is almost sacriligious (?) but I have an opportunity to buy one of there unlocked and was wondering if anyone here has had one that can compare it to the inspire. Since it is unlocked I think it will work on ATT? Any help or opinions would be appreciated.....
It'll work for voice, but you may not be able to get 3G data depending on which model HD2 it is. You'll need a T9193 (the Australian model) not the T8585 (I think) made for Tmobile.
True that. The oz version will work on 1 of the att channels so depending on what you have in your area it could be a very good experience for you, or just very expensive.
Also, it isn't anywhere near as fast as the Inspire- which can be had for free if you want 2 more years of AT&T.
Sent from my CM7 Inspire 4G with that special XDA app.
I appreciate the input. In my business I just cannot be without so if I continue to play with the phones I feel more comfortable with a spare I can just switch the sim card and be back online.
I had two Captivates that I sold to get something else. I am very happy with the inspire but you know how that goes, something better? Something newer?
I have an HD2. I love it. It's the best phone I ever had for customizing. It has much the same specs as the Inspire except for the camera and data radio. Oh...and the LCD isn't the "Super" version of the Inspire, but I find it quite excellent, nonetheless.
I'm currently using the cmylxgo Stock DesireHD ROM on it, which is essentially the same ROM on the Inspire. The Inspire is faster, smoother and cleaner, but the HD2 version isn't a slouch. It works amazingly well. But the glory of the HD2 is being able t use a whole host of custom ROMs on it. I'm actually using two android ROMs on my HD2. One is flashed to internal memory (NAND) and the other, a Nexus S CyanogenMOD by AmeriCanAndroid, is on the SD card. Both of these are excellent.
Some people use WindowsPhone 7 on the HD2 also. But be assured, you wouldn't have any boredom with an HD2.
Hi
So far my three android phone that I owned were G1, G2, and G2x from Tmobile. They all had vanilla android which I love. Since G2X kept freezing and losing signal I returned it and I am going to buy Sensation next month.
I am a bit worried about going to Sense and I was wondering - in general, what are the chances of getting a vanilla android ROM available for a Sense phone ? I know it would take some time but is that something that was made available for other Sense phones in the past?
thanks

Once the bootloaders is unlock, and we have the device S-OFF, just about anything will be possible! Until then, it's a long road ahead.
sweet, thanks for the replies. I knew it would take a while but as long as someone will work on it I am ok waiting
I'm an avid cyanogen fan, from my nexus. I now currently own an incredible s and I am surprisingly pleased with sense, I think you will too. Tho admittedly I did eventually swap back to launcher pro for the feel and customizability
Still hanging for release and bootloader unlock of sensation tho

I had a G2X also, what a piece of junk and am planning on the Sensation.
Until they have roms just use ADW or Launcher Pro, I had a Samsung with touch wiz a couple of years ago and used one of the launcher mentioned earlier to get rid of the touch wiz ui.
Nope, this isnt another "which rom is best thread" lol I'm switching over to ATT and just ordered 3 phones. One of which is the inspire 4g for my 60 year old mother. A couple of months ago I finally got her to ditch her LG dumb flip phone and switch to my family plan on sprint so I could give her my evo 3d to get the galaxy s 2. lol
She was very confused for the first few months but is now accustom to her phone and "LOVES IT" So I wanted to get her a phone that was similar. Like screen size, sense etc.. I dont want to mess up her ecosystem by having her have to relearn a new UI skin. hahaha I figured I'd throw a sense 3.0 rom on her new inspire so UI wise there is no difference really. Now I dont have time to try out every single sense 3.0 rom as I will only have the phone for a day and have to give it to her before she goes back home to CT. So I just need to know what is the most stable sense 3.0 rom? And what is the best kernel for battery life? I will most likely underclock/UV hers as she only uses the phone for texting, calling, surfing the web and an occasional game (simple games) nothing really syncing except facebook and stock google apps
Thanks in advance

Well I hope she enjoys her trip back to CT. (My home state) as for stable. Ithat depends on alot I am sure you know. I would personally use the Android Revolution rom based on the new Desire HD with Sense 3.0 that was released today.
I'd definitely go with Android Revolution HD. If your looking for Sense 3.5, however, then it's RCMix Runneymede all the way. The only downside of Runneymede is that battery life is AWFUL
Ive been running the Energy ROM for a couple of weeks now and its been very stable so far. Fast, too.
Thanks guys! I will go with Andorid rev. I actually saw there are also virtuous roms available for this phone. I always loved virtuous roms on my TMO devices. But the reviews for Android Revolution look really good. When I told my mom about the switch she said "but I like my phone" So I told her the new phone will be set up exactly like her old one. lol
Hi... I've been using a DInc for almost a year and a half; running rooted and CM7. I love the phone, love Cyanogenmod. I am in the market for a 4G phone - will probably give the DInc to my son. I am looking for a 4G Verizon phone with stable Gingerbread or ICS ROM's available. I would like to be able to root it and run an alternative ROM, preferably Cyanogenmod. I'm not seeing much that meets my needs in the CM supported devices area. Does anyone have any suggestions for Verizon 4G phones that are root/mod friendly? Thanks in advance!
