My Verizon App Missing? - Thunderbolt General

I usually check once a week to see if the My Verizon app has been updated, but I cannot find it... I am on Ginger Remix so maybe I can't see it because of that? Can someone with froyo check?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

I am completely stock and havent been able to find it for several days. I am guessing it has been updated in the market as not being available for the Thunderbolt since it did not work on our phone anyway.

Droid-life.com has a working version.

The salient question is why would Verizon block owners of their flagship phone (okay, maybe the Droid Charge is that now, with the "Droid" branding") from the app at all, let alone for so long. Damn phone's been on the market for 10 weeks now and still no TB-compatible MyVerizon app. Very weird.

Look here at Post #6. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14277108
The release is a verizon apk, however they have not released it because they do not want LTE users usage to be changed by having their current usage easily accessible. It will help them price out the tiered plans that we are getting this summer.

Did you really just post a link to this thread IN this thread?

Well its not compatible based on their laziness. So it is easier to hide it because some people don't read.

Uhm no... Usage is just as easily accessible without the app. The same number of steps as if you are checking on WiFi. From what I have read it works on the other 4G devices but the bolt. If they are doing what you are saying then they should not have theirs working either.

Why are you guys so harsh to people that are trying to help out complete ungrateful strangers? Maybe some people have not known about this and is the first time they are seeing this information. Why the negativity?
yea I got it on sep 28th
Yeah, I just got a sprint text message about this. I'm running CM6 though.
I'm in the process of nandroid backuping now, then install a sense rom to update, then nandroid back.
Actually I just got the new PRL 60773 through my phone updates.
Im curious about the people who made fun of the person, as I am new to the forums, where should the post of this thread have posted this thread since you say that he posted it in the wrong area?
Also, I am not running the new PRL either so obviously there are a few people who would find this information very useful.
Hugs and kisses.

I'd guess the "General" section. This area is strictly for development (i.e., ROMs, kernels, etc).
I am sorry if it is a late news. I just got a text message from Sprint with info, so I thought it is a new update. Just trying to be helpful, since I used so much help from XDA forums.

Fresh out of the weekend since their support page was updated. A 5-3 release makes sense. Hopefully the radio version is different than the leak, which is reboot happy due to the radio. Software versions match though.
Thanks for the details. I look forward to the official, the leaked was not very stable.

Congrats to JCase for the first Gingerbread Release

As most of us, I have been following this since the leak this morning and we now have a flashable release over at AndroidPolice.com (http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/16/download-leaked-gingerbread-rom-for-the-htc-thunderbolt/)
I am personally waiting until das BAMF comes out with their next version based on GB just so I don't have to download and configure another rom within days, but again, congrats to Jcase.

Ha yeah...Adrynalyne said it was a trojan to free up bandwidth for dev's to download it. The original "leak" was not flashable and people would have messed up their phones if they jumped the gun too early. Probably did himself and the rest of the community a BIG favor (no threads titled "Help I tried to flash the leak and screwed up my phone")
Has anyone tried this yet with 4G? Will this work with Titanium Backup so I do not have to reload all my info and apps?
Thank you!!!

They can also be on multiple devices at once. I have my Thunderbolt as my main phone and also an inactive Incredible that I use on wifi to test neat stuff like CM10 (Jelly Bean is awesome by the way) and i have a lot of the same apps on both of them, particularly Titanium Backup Pro. Google has made it really easy to continue using the stuff you buy...as it should be.

Droid-Life is a newb site. They post some of the dumbest stuff ever and usually are wrong. However if a dev that leaked this says possibly OTA I'll believe it.
Proof of DL stupidity...in the JB Razr leak they demoed on video he was blown away by the notification pulldown which turned blue when touching it and grey when not. Thought that was a Moto feature as he hasn't seen it on AOSP apparently. Little does he know that's a JB "feature." smh

I would get a R when using CM10 with J1 radio and connected to my 3G network extender at home. Outside my house/neighborhood it would switch to 3G/4G. Using any TW Rom i don't have that issue. If i flash a non jellybean leaked radio with CM10, i'll get 3G on my network extender.

Anyone else notice that all of the leaks are "REV09"?
The naming convention seems toalmost always follow:
Code:
COMBINATION_I535VR[XXXX]_I535VZW[XXXX]_[######]_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Where [XXXX] is the build, and [######] is... well I don't know what that is, but its a 6 digit number (except for the ALHD leak which had a seven digit number.)
Actually the last two leaks have the same 6 digit number right before "REV09".
I wonder if this can tell us anything specific about the android build process for our device.
I could be wrong of course.
