Is it possible to upgrade / root these ?
http://www.sandsmobile.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=31
It's apparently a Android 2.2 installation, but with a lot of spelling errors and such; therefore the wish for rooting ;-)
Been searching high and low for this, but can't find anything about this - so guys - I need your wisdom once again

First question : Is there any accelerometer bublle level like the incredible android one for Jave J2M Samsung S5600 (Player Star) phone ? Or anyway, is there any solution to port this app from adroid to java Mobile ? I got the source jar if anyone is interested to have a look inside. It does not lauch on my mobile, certainly due to protection and very different Android OS...
Second question :
I would like to find a way for overriding the Exe/jave/games/folder to point it to my mmc sdcard ? Is there a way to do it via nv_default.ini without bricking the phone ? A better solution would be to offer both databse update search and and thos two path in ?!
I'm really not familliar with this phone OS, so if there anyone who can tell me if this system is modifiable or modable, just let me know...
Free Bonus Question : I also have a nice HTC touch P3450, wich has been succesfully updated to the latest avaible firmware. I dont know if this phone have an accelerometer ? Can anyone tell it to me ? I don't think so because none of the apps are hanging this feature, but i'm asking it also
I know there are a lot of thread about Android but I would like to have some explanations to understand the whole pictures.
In fact, every times I read a post about android, it's more an ad for a ROM than a real explanation ... what I would to understand is really what's going on. A more High level understanding.
As per my understanding, Android is a graphical layer over Linux. So first I would like to understand how Linux is running on our Polaris
I know there are 3 files:
zImage which is the Kernel itself (and I think it's developped and maintained by DZO)
initrd which is the initial ram disk (like a standard Linux system)
NBH ... And I don't know what is the goal of the NBH ?
This makes me wonder 2 things
Why do we have different panel type ?
What is updated in this NBH every time DZO update it ?
Anyway, over that if I've correctly understand we have Android.
Ok but what I don't understand is the different method.
RootFS
NoMoreRootFS
SQSH
I've to admit I didn't investigate much in this.
I don't know what is RootFS or SQSH. If anyone can explain me that would be highly appreciated.
But I've tried the NoMoreRootFS method. I think it's the more recent and advanced method but not sure at all about that.
Anyway, I've understood that we start Linux and if we press "Voume Up" during the boot sequence it launches the application which is either in androidinstall.tgz or androidupdate.tgz (depending on the option "install" or "update" we select in the menu which appears after pressing "volume up").
Well, that's a beginning but over all of that I'v discovered that there are more than 1 version of Android.
1.6 : Donut
2.1 : Eclair
What are the differences between these versions ? Are there any other version ? I've heard of an "OpenEclair" version but don't what it is.
I think that's it for the moment. I hope that some people will be able to help me. Thanks a lot for any suoport you can provide.
the warm´s donut is the fastest...but only the hero sense builds have the "cool" style and EzInput 2 with german lang....but the hero sense builds are very slow...
Thank you Alexander but in fact my post was not related to any roms particulary.
I just would like to understand how it is working from a high level point of view.
There are lot of post to explain how to flash, what to flash but I dind't find anything on how this is working ?
How all these pieces are related with each others ?
Does anyone have links or help to provide with, please ?
P.S. : Yes it seems that Warm donut is an excellent ROM.
i have p500 for past one year and i want to grow my knowledge about smartphones , hardware, software , solid state electronic devices and of course usability! i am going to ask you some question about one of the revolutionary topic(telecommunication and integration of other devices in one smartphone circuits) of humankind! my topic is bit lengthy(and interesting for first time smartphone and android user) but hey devil in detail right!
part 1 - general
whats the main difference between hardware and software of a basic , feature and smartphone mobile! do 1 ghz of iphone processor equal to the computational power of 1 ghz desktop processor? why a feature phone browser have wap and pain to setup it than smartphone browser http! i know all the os and aps are made from programming language and framework, digital logic and circuits do different business companies just hire computer programmer to make living just to make things look and feel little different from one another(bada, android, windows, ios etc). ?
part 2 - future
how much upgrade p500 can take i have already checked rasheds jellybean rom(working but full with bugs) , do you think p500 can take all upcoming upgrade smoothly ? i know p500 have capability but not sure can his rom support upcoming android upgrade easily? can you really make a rom perfect for p500 like they work in high end phones?
part 3- applications
no one will spend extra money on a telecommunication devices if it cannot make him happy or play desire application! i need tts in hindi for android and a application of android which can translate english or other language pdf,,files, document etc to my own language(hindi) and then converted file can be read by tts in hindi?
i know smartphone is palm computer with some extra hardware attached to it (sensors, phone call, internet)! i have multiboot pc and not much problem installing uninstalling it! but for my smartphone i had to read and understand hundreds of thread and forums just to know root , flash and reinstall features! i had rooted, flashed , installed custom rom and then third and bricked my phone in a single day! now solved but for future troubleshoot want to know the difference between recovery image and baseband version ! do a kdz lg tool change the baseband and recovery, rom image simultaneously! i have now oxyzen 4.0 and v20d firmware and i heard there is v20e and further available so is there any benefit and safe wy to upgrade my firmware? i have also noticed that i need a recovery image or boot manager which can support all rom from different vendors and developers can this possible?
please answer my doubts! thanks!

1. Difference between hardware and software:
Hardware is physical, for example the CPU or memory or whatever. Software means that files in the memory.
A 1 GHz+ phone‘s CPU is not the same as a PC‘s one. On the PC it have more voltage and so it is working faster.
2. Nobody knows until which android version our phone can run. The only soloution is to try that.
3. Recovery is installed on every Android smartphone and tablet. In recovery mode you can wipe data, flash new ROMs or even flash another recoveries. But if you want to flash something, it must end with .zip
You need the baseband to call, send sms or whatever what needs your sim-card. Without the baseband (like when you did something wrong while installing new bb) you can not receive nor do calls, send sms or whatever.
You don‘t need to upgrade baseband to V20E! It‘s specified for other countrys, and you have the right baseband. So just ignore it.
NO YOU CAN NOT FLASH ROMS FROM OTHER DEVELOPERS! YOU‘LL BRICK YOUR PHONE!
is their tts for Hindi and software to convert a document in Hindi language and speak it in Hindi for android
Hey there.
I have this Device now a few months.
ht tp: // www . dynavin . com / android.php
Its called D99+
The Device works on Android 2.2.3 for further informations please ask me.
I have rooted it with a custom rom from this thread: ht tp: // forum . e46fanatics . com / showthread.php ? t=909077
Is there any possibility to upgrade to Gingerbread or ICS ? The guy who works on the custom roms says, we need a new kernel. Dynavin.com doesnt gives any sources etc.
Does anybody from you have the possibility to create a new kernel for this device, so i can install ginger or ics on it? Froyo is so annoying
I even would pay for a good working solution (kernel + - custom rom) !
Anybody can help me please?
Greetings from germany
Chris
P.S.: Cant add direct links. Sorry.
I really wish this device could get some xda love... froyo sucks.
i agree.. 2.2.3 is way to old!
If any dev was willing to put some work into this I would be willing to offer up some start up cash and some cash upon completion, maybe we can start a pool?
This device is horribly behind software wise. They did a great job making it look the part, but functionally its near useless for someone even alittle bit into the audio side.
My main gripes, lack of EQ controls, an android side that worked reliably. a better bluetooth interface (even if this went through the android side that would be fine); and a few other small things. Just the flow and feel of the device isnt "fluid"
If any devs need a device to work on, I could probably work something out to send my headunit to you for testing as well..
Hi! I've been looking for long time for a smartphone with these characteristics:
- not too old with at least 2GB RAM
- easy to root/unblock/flash/backup firmware
- easy to repair imei, without box and it would be great if it could be done without pc too
- dual sim
for someone who is not into the smartphone/android world it's not easy to find, can you people suggest anything?
Thanks a lot! :good:
