I would like to know if MetaMorph will work on the stock rooted ROM?

Depends on what you are trying to do specifically. To make things easier I'd flash a deodexed ROM then try to mess around with MM.
Did you ever figure that out?

I have all of the necessary files, but I have no idea how to replace the HTC Sense icons with the stock Android 2.1 icons.
My phone is rooted, NAND unlocked and I'm running Joeykrim's 1.0.8 ROM (odex), which is basically a rooted version of the stock HTC Evo ROM.
Thanks in advance!

As noted above, I'm running an odex ROM, so this won't really help. Thanks, though.
Its not possible to theme on an odex'd ROM. So you'll either have to flash a new ROM or deal with it. Sorry bro.

There is no way to replace the images without flashing a ROM or a theme? I find that hard to believe. If that's true, I'll be pretty disappointed.
Sorry for my misread. Why don't you just flash one of Joey's deodexed? Doesn't he have one?

Not a problem! He does, but I like the performance of the odexed version. That's certainly an option, though.
What themes from the Desire HD work for the Inspire or what should I look for in a theme to make sure it works?
all themes should be fine. Unless a theme is for a specific rom. just remember you can't flash a theme over a rooted ATT stock rom unless it has been deodexed
When I asked this, it was before all the Desire HD Roms came in the Inspire sectiion. I already flashed the Revolution Rom and now deciding which Theme.
What does deodexed mean?

quick and dirty odex explanation http://www.forceclose.com/questions/2307/what-are-odex-files
in short, a rom in order to be themed has to have these odex files removed and their contents packaged back into the apk file.
if you try to theme an Odexed rom I don't think it will even boot.
so i rooted my inspire but decided i dont really want to put a different rom on because of the sound issues i see going on..that means i cant use any metamorph themes?

Correct. Themes will only work on a de-odexed ROM

I am pretty sure they resolved most of the sound issuse. Android revolution has great sound in my experience with it. It even appeared to sound louder then stock.

Thanks for the explanation. Coming from iPhone, there are tons of terms to learn.
which current roms are ok to use with the new 4g phone? i think it would be nice to know. also is there a stock rooted 2.3.4 i can use when i get my phone this week? i see there is already a kernel we can use which is awesome.

I may be wrong but I don't believe any ROMs work with our phone yet. What I did in the mean time was just root using the fastboot method and flash CWM. Works like a champ
that's funny because netarch said last week they would work.
2.3.4 stock rom please devs!
The kernel works (I have it on my phone) as netarch stated, but rom's I *BELIEVE* are not compatible

I said the kernels should work fine, and roms possibly.
On closer inspection of a system dump from an ns4g there are some differences that will prevent current custom roms from working properly.
I'd need a guinea pig with an ns4g to assist me in testing to find out the exact changes necessary to make them compatible.
Atm there are at least 2 files I've found that would need to change.
You can go ahead and flash Net's kernel and start overclocking though!
I ended up getting so used to stock 2.3.4 rom that I am still on it!

Thats what I used. The rom is ready, but you will have to still flash superuser in recovery. I dont think the script is right. Im not really a dev after all Just wanted this, so I made it happen...
*I dont think my net could be any slower...still uploading

Did you have any trouble deodexing any of the apks? Mine keeps failing on NetworkLocation.odex. I just pulled the apk and odex files out of the origi_app folder to get around it.
Ok, so this is a stock deodexed ROM for the NS 4G. I am not a dev, you flash this at your own risk. With that being said, Im running it and I havent found anything wrong...yet. It does have netarchy's bfs kernel, you will need setcpu to oc, it is good up to 1.4. Your phone may not be. Do not check set on boot in setcpu until you know your phone is stable. You WILL have to flash superuser in recovery, you can flash it right after you flash the ROM, no need to reboot. So, here it is...
O yea, I added spare parts, CM file manager, and CM mms.apk so it doesnt have to be white...

ROM:

THEN FLASH THIS BEFORE YOU REBOOT OR YOU WILL NOT HAVE ROOT ACCESS

i had no problem deodexing using the htc/sgs kitchen. just and fyi. it did everything with no errors.
Obviously the sensation is different but i'm wondering whats possible with metamorph and sense.
Personally i don't like most of sense and prefer my own custom theme.
so just wondering whats possible to change with metamorph/ninjamorph in sense. or can we flash themes from say, the UOT kitchen?
personally i would change the statusbar and the pulldown images, and the menus to gingerbread black.

You won't be able to flash anything until it's unlocked in some way or another.

yes i know we need root, yes i know the sensation won't have it at launch.
But when it does have it, can you use metamorph to morph the images of the UI.

Do you mean deodex? As in de-odex? Then, I guess you maybe could but it is much easier to flash trickdroid because that is the stock rom on steroids.

I was curious about this too, so I did a search and found this. Not sure if this will help us, since I haven't had a chance to read the whole thing, but it probably will work.
