no idea what the problem is(yes i looked around for simular topics and i was unable to find any) by problem is thus:
i want to install CyanogenMod 7, so, i have downloaded the mod*zip*, google apps*zip*(since the installment of the mod deletes them) and bootmenu to install the zips.
installed the bootmenu (with root rights) and restarted my motorola defy.
the boot menu came up, so i chose Recovery->Custom Recovery and the wipe data and wipe cache, after that i went to the "install zip from SD card" and installed bouth the mod and the google apps from the ZIP, bouth said "installation compleate"
but when i rebooted my phone, i found out that nothing has changed, the version stay as it is, and all my google apps are gone, can some1 point me at what exactly im doing wrong?
ty
p.s tryed to boot my phone with [2nd-init] but im just getting black screen for eva ><
p.s2: just found out my vidio players dosent work + camera(i can take pics, but i cant see what im taking the pic off, the screen is just black..) if some1 could give me original(factory) motorola defy rom that will also help.

I know that there are tons of threads about this but none of them have helped. My market just will not work. It shows it downloading, then displays the message "Download failed" for a split second and disappears.
I have an HTC Desire (BravoC/CDMA) with the latest version of CyanogenMod 7 Nightly and ClockworkMod 2.5.0.9 for recovery. I also have Firerat's Custom MTD Partition. Details and links to all these can be found in my signature.
I feel like I've tried everything. Uninstall updates, Installed latest GApps, Installed old versions of GApps, Installed leaked versions of Gapps, cleared cache, formatted device.
This has been happening since the new market website was released. It really sucks, I can't update any apps or download any new apps.
If anyone can offer any help or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Try removing SD card then try again. I had the same problem with my galaxy s I removed SD card backup on PC then I formatted it put it back in and market works perfect, don't ask me why but this worked for me
Sent from my Ideos using XDA App
a little weird thing i noticed is,if i have checked the box that allows applications to be download to the external(Apps2sd) whatever i try to download, will be resulted with Unsuccessful. When i unchecked it, my downloads were successful.
See if you have it checked.
I discovered that it was a problem with the CSC file. I had exactly the same issue with a 'mixed up' firmware. Download would not work at all from the market. Anyhow, I flashed the phone (galaxy s) with a different CSC file and the market started downloading.
the only thing I had changed was that file.
So u may want to consider that Hope this helps.
I think there is also a possibility of going to applications --> market, and then stop & clear data.
same situation here...
re-flash the rom and market won't download anything.
But it's strange that I can install apps from web market.
i know i'm at the wrong thread but could somebody help me pls with sgs gingerbread im stuck at on command where it is saying that busybox is not a valid command and thats its not recognized
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, after some time I have discovered what was causing the market issue. It was the Firerat Custom MTD Partition Mod the whole time. Apparently the new version of the market deals with downloads a little differently now and doesn't get along with Firerat's mod.
So now the waiting game begins for a new update from Firerat.
Hi,
NOt a solution, but I found a workaround for this issue on my phone.
I am using Hyperdroid GBX V8 on my HTC HD2 now. From last 2 days I was struggling with this problem. I tried all solutions I found with google. Clearning everything and Reflashing, clearing the market and caches for other apps, reflashing, unmount/mount SDCARD and so on, smaller bigger recovery partition, without EXT3/4 partition.
Still the problem exist on the phone. But I found a workaround. Logon to market.android.com using your google id and password, select the app you want to install and click install. if your phone is up and live, it will be installed in a few seconds.
In other words, pull doesnt work, but push works .
Thanks.

I rooted my HTC EVO, then wanted a new kernel for better battery, wanted the new gingerbread ROM too but after I rooted, I deleted a few unwanted, stock apps. After I did this, I started to get a lot of force close messages. Certain apps won't even open. So I tried to unzip a new kernel and I wiped all my data from the hboot. Now it starts up, will go to locked home screen. I try to unlock it, it's the white htc screen then loads into the set up (i.e. keyboard usage, etc) and in the last step a force close message pops up then goes through the whole scenario again. Now I want to just put a whole new system on so I can have my evo back. HELP?

Download the rom, kernel, and Gapps (http://www.goo-inside.me/gapps/latest/7/) on your computer. Boot into recovery. I don't use Clockwork, and I'm assuming you rooted with Unrevoked, so that's probably the recovery you have, but try to find the option to mount your SD card via USB, and move the files to your SD card. Do not unzip them. They must be .zip files. Unmount your SD card, wipe your data, wipe your cache, wipe your Dalvik cache, repeat all the wipes at least one more time, then flash the .zips in this order: 1. ROM 2. Gapps 3. kernel. Then reboot, and you should have a working system.
If you use ROM Manager and created a backup then you could flash (install) the OTA ROM Sprint sent out a few months back. This OTA ROM will be for the Rooted evo, so you won't lose root. Go to youtube.com and search this, "How to install new Sprint Htc Evo OTA 3.29.651.5 and keep root." In his comments he'll provide the link to that zip file and you can flash it from the recovery mode. Make sure you wipe the dalvik/cache and then flash zip file from sd card. It will appear to look like your initial problem but it will get passed the white htc screen. You could turn it off and turn it on again if HTC screen stays longer than 10 min. Once the ROM kicks in, you'll notice its stripped of all your cusomizations. If you used rom manager to back up your ROM then redownload ROM manager from market and the superuser app that came with the OTA zip file will allow ROM manager to run. At that point select manager and restore backups from ROM manager and select your backup and it should put you back to where you were prior to the problem.
Sorry so long, but I'm very detailed and don't want to assume you know what I'm talking about.
P.S. similar situation happened to me yesterday I fixed my issue like described above.
Another Thing haha, don't delete your stock apps just freeze them using Titanium backup. Freezing does the same thing for battery life. You wont see them in app drawer and they wont run in background.
Good morrning everybody.
Yesterday I tried to flash the circle battery found in ROM Manager into my Android 2.2 system. Clockwork Recovery suggested to run a backup, which I naturally did, and then it started to flash the battery into the system.
Until that point it worked fine and never returned an error or something else, but after the first reboot, the battery was properly replaced but nearly every app installed in my android crashes (googlemail, sms, phone, launcher pro, and so on) and my phone went into a boot loop.
Trying to restore my system with the Clockwork recovery manager also didn't work as it should, so I had to perform a full factory reset. (By the way, I got the same boot loop after trying to deinstall crapware via titanium backup)
My phone is a o2 - branded HTC Desire with Froyo, HBOOT-093.0001 and was rooted by unrevoked (S-ON).
Does anyone have an idea about that problem and know a solution? thanks in advance ;-)
cheers
PS: please forgive my when i wrote nonsense, it's 6 o'clock in the morning
Okay, I played a little bit around with my mobile phone and i figured something.
I made it to activate the plane mode before my phone decided to reboot again, so I managed to break this loop.
Now "only" "RSS-Reader, MMS, NewsReader, the Google Mail App, the "Google-Services-Framework (Prozess com.google.process.gapps)" and the Sense-Launcher crashes (maybe because I've a Mail shortcut or something on the screens, I don't know it exactly (using LauncherPro+)
I also read that flashing could set the ringtones to NULL (for the guys who aren't that deep into informatics: NULL = nothing; but NULL is not the number "0" (null-pointer-exception). I took a look into my settings but there are definitively ring tones set but unfortunately I can't take a look into my GMail app due to these crashes.

Try using Advanced -> Fix Permissions in CWM. It is supposed to help with FCs

I had a similar issues on CM7 while the wrong gapps version was flashed :S
Hey guys, thanks for your reply.
@frosty_ice: from the CWM recovery menu (power + "vol-") I've only the options of
- reboot recovery
- wipe dalvik cache
- wipe battery stats
- report error
- key test
- restart adbd
- process dump
which are listed at "advanced"
When I select "fix permissions" in ROM Manager, it throws the error "Error while executing privileged commands" (translated from german, I don't know the original sentence)
I'm using ROM Manager v4.1.0.0
@metalron: I did not flashed any version of gapps, I only flashed the circle battery "SuperCircle Battery v.B" found at "Pinkolin - Pinky Desire". Does this automaticly flash other components into my system?
greetings

I think thats your issues, as far as I know you need gapps, that too the right version although most apps can be downloaded via market but then you need market and for some odd reason not flashing gapps or flashing the wrong one put me in a boot loop.. so im guessing its the same for you.

I have an LG Optimus V (Virgin Mobile) with 2.3.3 Gingerbread with aospcmod-ov-20110415-signed.zip running before becoming stuck in Android System Recovery. It happened when I tried updating the rom to aospcmod-ov-20110427. I had the proper gapps and follwed the flashing rom instructions from romrepo wiki. After that we lost clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.6 . We then installed clockworkmod recovery 3.0.2.8 because it was the only one that would reinstall and it was recommended. Once it was installed no files from the sd card could be accessed so I removed clockworkmod recovery 3.0.2.8 . Once we removed cwm recovery 3.0.2.8 I was faced with the blue fastboot screen. To get out of the blue fastboot screen I had to use vm fastboot root. Once I did that I was able to go thru the full process of 1. Move all files you intend to flash to the root of your sd card (ex. aospCmod.zip, GAPPS.zip, kernel (optional)).
2. First you need to wipe/format your phone, in clockwork recovery: Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. Under Partitions menu (or Mounts & Storage in 3.0.0.6) in recovery: Format boot, system, data, cache. Under advanced: wipe Dalvik Cache.
3. Flash in this order:
A. AospCmod
B. GAPPS
C. Kernel (optional).
4. Reboot System
5. NOTE: On Optimus V when first logging in, if you click "Sign In" it will ask you to slide of your keyboard. Just go back and press "Skip." You can sign into your Accounts later in settings.
All of the processed went thru successfully and went to reboot and it rebooted back to Android System Recovery. I have checked my steps and tried this process continually but it keeps looping me back to Android System Recovery instead of loading the Rom.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. You can email me at [email protected]
Hi guys,
Yesterday i got GM10 Tablet from DX (HongKong). It has installed qqplayer & one more app (don't know name).
I signed to market and started to download mvideoplayer.. BOOM failure... I took SD card(8GB) and put it into phone and tried again.. Nothing.. After few minutes i went to file manager and acctually file called mvideoplayer.apk was on /sdcard/downloads/.
But that was the only file that i could download now even after factory reset Now every time I get the message. "download unsuccessfully"
I have to say that i bought this device because previous was archos and i didn't have market. NOW I DON'T HAVE IT AGAIN!
What I allready did:
1. Cleared cache (market, market updater, download manager)
2. Trying to factory reset (i don't have that option anywhere in menus!)
- i tried (volume up, back, power on) and after that it reset
- didn't help still can't download from market
3. Created new gmail account - Doesn't HELP!
4. I formated SD card few times - restarted phone - nothing
5. I just know that i have market version 1.8.2 (if i check under applications)
Guy can you please help?
How can I root that device so i can update market or whatever is the reason I can't use market.
Is the problem SD card?
Is the problem that device don't have place on phone(it has 245MB after reset) and it is just so stupid that don't know how do download to sdcard
Are thoose pirated android devices and google don't allow to download from market?
PLEASE HELP! :=)
Device: GM10(only for test)

Build number: GM10 V2.5-BT_test1 2.2.1 en.root.20110217.111316 test-keys
Do you have RM? In downloads find google. Try downloading a newer or. Older version of gapps flash through cwm
Also you can boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache, also should try" fix permissions"
Sent from SGS Captivate CM7 or MIUI using TKGlitch or Escapist

Bye bYE..

I have an Asus Transformer Infinity TF700T, I installed cynogenmod 10 and gapps, and then wouldnt boot past splash screen, so I found out to install a new bootloader. after I did that, I could boot into Android, but it was like a brand new installation. My apps were all gone (which may or not be normal). I had to install a file manager and I found that my files are still there, so I wanted to reattempt a google app installation because I didn't have any google apps. When I booted, It requested a password. I have no idea what this password is supposed to be, and I can't find any info anywhere. so i gave up and hit cancel and nothing is mounted. I tried to mount stuff, but the screen seem unresponsive when i click those areas. I cant clear any data or anything because it isnt mounted, I cant restore my backup because nothing is mounted.
Please help me. Thanks in advance
I may have found something. Im using goomanager to install a later version I think
Ok, that fixed it. I just wish I could get all of the apps.
