Hi all,
I got an Australian Xoom, and sure enough I followed all the steps for the US version and no longer have working 3G.
I followed this version to root it,
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/mot...ow-root-3g-4g-wifi-only-xoom-stock-3-1-a.html
Then I followed this to update the kernal to Tiamat,

I've been looking around to work out what I need to do, by my head is hurting.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get working 3G?
I got it fixed. What a mission.
It's Awesome device

Hello,
Just got my hands on a Wifi Xoom mz604. I have rooted my HTC desire and am running a modified version of LeeDroid but this Xoom seems a bit more complicated. I can't find anything that specifically says it's for the AU Wifi version.
Can anyone help me?
Sorry, it's on 3.1.

Well, WiFi only Xooms have the exact same hardware, no matter their country of origin. I know there are threads (in back pages by now) for rooting the AU Xoom, but they may have referred to the 3G models. Did you check the Rooting Heaven thread in the General section?
hi, thanks for the reply. Ended up figuring it all out, now running the us 3.2 rom and have clock work recovery.
Hi,
Got my xoom about 2 days ago and looking to put the team eos nightly ics rom on it,
However, I dont know what model my xoom is, The box does not really help. And the model number in settings just shows "xoom"
The xoom was bought brand new from America (Im in Australia) and it is the WIFI only version
Also i was wondering the easiest way to root the device?
Thanks

The Wifi only is MZ604 or sometimes referred to as Wingray. Here is a link to rooting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17129803
And here is a link to unlocking and flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11598889
Thanks for that, Ive just got to sort out how to set up adb, No idea on it..
the way it seems, The Xoom is much harder to root & install custom roms on than the Optimus 3d, SGS and the SGS2
Ok so im following this guide,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249798
and have installed drivers and adb and all that stuff,
When i double click on fastboot, It pops up for about a second then goes away?
Not exactly sure what to do
Edit: Nevermind got it
hi guys,
i just bought a xoom in the uk as an impulse buy. usually i do a lot of reading on things like this so i dont usually need help when it comes to rooting, unlocking bootloader etc.
This has probably been asked but i tried searching and i just got more confused. I would like to know if the uk xoom (wifi only) can be rooted and if i can unlock the bootloader. i would like to install a jellybean rom if that is possible but i couldnt really find i guide on this particular version.
If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Yes and Yes is the simple answer......
Best thing is to have a search on here and maybe Google and you should find some guides on how to do it.... The guide I followed (but don't remember where I found it) wasn't specifically written for a UK Xoom, but worked absolutely fine.....
The UK Xoom can be easily unlocked via ADB when connected to your PC.....
Unlocking the Bootloader will completely wipe the device though so ensure you have copied anything you want from the Xoom first....
Plenty of ROM choices - I am currently using EOS 3 (Nightly 155) which is Jellybean 4.1.2 but will jump over to EOS 4 on Jellybean 4.2 in due course....
Hi there guys,
I've got a Xoom in my hands right now, an MZ604 UK WiFi Only edition running Honeycomb 3.0.1
It seems that recenlty, one of the best guides to GEDifying the xoom was taken down (SimonJStuart's guide to GEDifying for n00bs) so I decided to follow the tutorial at XoomForums ---> How to turn non-US xoom into US Xoom. PM me for the link (I have less than 10 posts)I've reached step 4 but I cannot for the life of me seem to find that page on Motorola's site and their customer support ar about as backward as ice cream trousers.
I just need someone to point me to a download link for said firmware on step 4. And another question while i'm here, If I do complete the said tutorial on getting my Xoom to JB, How do I revert the language back to UK from the flashed and updated US Firmware?
Thanks beforehand btw.
The guide is called [How To] UK Wifi To US GED
and has 5 steps to it
I ordered a 4g modem online for my verizon xoom and want to begin the upgarding process but I am looking for maybe a set of directions all in one place. I have been able to find bits and pieces all over but I was hoping someone knew of something I could follow on xda or somewhere else....Thank you
Ok so I got the actual 4g modem installed and that wasnt to hard but what software do I need to install. I am guessing I will need to root and install a ROM and kernel or baseband that supports 4g...am i correct? And where can I find those things?
Im so confused because my build number says IMM76L and when I look online it is an update that states 4g so does that mean my xoom should work on 4g after the modem is installed? any ideas?
