Coming from an 8520 Blackberry Curve to the G2x I have made great leaps and bounds when it comes to OSes. For my review on my Rooted Leaked GB build on G2x I would just like to say the pros and cons that I have had since the moment I installed it 30 minutes after the leak.
Pros:
Very smooth thanks to LPP & ADW making the home screens amazing
Space to install games
Still shots on the 8mp camera is a beauty
Swype is a must on any phone for me now
Speed, speed, speed and more speed! Duel Core is a power house
Wireless tether is smooth as butter! (Main source of internet for my home)
Screen size is very different then the HD2, but it’s still unique and nice
Soft keys are very bright and glow very well when receiving notifications
Weight with a body glove case without clip backing is perfect!
Rooting was SUPER easy and installing Leaked GB was so simple
Bluetooth is A+ for the range on it! BT Stereo headphones work great!
4G phone, can be a pro and con due to T-mobiles "Largest SO CALLED 4G Network"
Cons:
Number 1 issue would be battery but solved with upcoming updates or switching to 2g only in settings
Speakers are not as loud as I would want them to be. Voice/Music
Speakers are also very low quality, distorting music/call if too loud
No notification light, but solved by Optimus 2X Touch app
Vibrate is not as strong as I would like (Can be solved by app?)
Touch screen can be a little buggy, also due to leaked GB maybe?
Slight jitter when swiping between home screens
Random app lock ups at least once every 3 days, VERY bearable
LCD bleed top left, bottom left and slightly in the right
No dedicated camera button
Lag when coming from standby, WidgetLocker maybe?
Video recording is sub-par but improves with settings in low light conditions
Keyboard lags. For example, typing a very long e-mail, text or post
Hangs on lock screen sometimes
Lag on trying to end a call when removing the phone from your ear
Some apps will lock the phone up forcing you to hold power to reboot.
4G seems to be the issue for my battery drains - Can go 15 hours on heavy use with 2G while switching to 4G for downloading apps and music
Overall:
One the best phones I have had a chance to have and even with the MINOR issues I have with the phone can be fixed with updates/patches/ROMs.
Once I find a way to increase the volume via an app and T-Mobile starts to build better 4G towers in my area then this phone will be perfect!
Vibrate can be altered with different roms. CM7 has a stronger vibrate. The initial builds was out of control. I think they toned it done some. Most phones don't have a dedicated camera button anymore, which is a shame. You can, however, map apps to Long-Presses. With CM7, long-press back = force close. Long-press home = default task manger or assign to an app. Long-Press menu = keyboard. Long-press search = whatever.
ADW has been known to be laggy on the Tegras, but Launcher Pro has always been buttery smooth, even with the 3D effects. I think ADW has something to do with a driver issue or something.
CM7 also boosts the audio profiles. Coming from a Blackberry, the speakers are weak. Blackberry's have always had great speaker phones. The G2x is much better then some other devices I've had. Call quality on both ends still sounds pretty good.
Just a few tid-bits of information. Most of the stuff in the CON list, like you said, can be fixed with "updates/patches/ROMs".
Yeah I am holding off on making the switch to a CM7 nightly build..at least till its finished. I hate having to reinstall all my apps with titanium backup, takes forever.
But its bugging me so badly that I can't find the app or setting to change haptic strength!

Just a note...ADW EX is hands down smother than Launcher Pro since Hardware Acceleration was added (last update I believe). I just want to make sure that gets out there since I left ADW myself for awhile due to the lag...back now and loving it.

Yeah I was going to say that as well since I'm using it after it was optimized for Tegra2 processors.
Also, found that it was Perfect Keyboard that has the haptic feed back strength setting. DANG IT!

So, how does GB compare to stock stability wise? I ran GB (CM7) exclusively on my HD2. I have been holding off on the g2x waiting for a CM7 RC...but I'm itching to flash.

To be honest Gingerbread only gives a few extra perks besides the black notification bar, the glow when you hit the top and bottom of web pages and option screens. The main reason why I LOVE GB is the copy and paste function! Makes me wonder how they never had the arrow in the first place to move your selector around either!

P.S. / edit
To really answer your question about GB vs stock Froyo: I would have to say that the leaked GB is perfectly fine for daily use besides the few hangs on lock screen sometimes, lag on trying to end a call when removing the phone from your ear and some apps will lock the phone up forcing you to hold power to reboot.
Once again some of my issues seem like they are caused by apps I'm using to replace stock apps.

Hello,
I am thinking about getting a captivate while they're on sale at amazon. I played around with one at ATT and I didn't notice any lag problems, is it hit or miss depending on the phone you get? Does everyone who has a captivate notice this?
Also, what is meant by lag in this instance. My evo has noticeable input lag unless I unlock the screen, is this something similar or a different kind of lag? It's kind of annoying seeing all these high end phones have annoying problems like this, but I might get the captivate anyway because of the beastly gpu in it and the awesome screen.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
They all have it. It's not a big deal unless you are coming from a faster phone. Then it's obvious and annoying. If it does start to bother you, there are now very robust and easy to apply fixes that make it as fast as any phone. So long story short: It's not a big problem.
Mine, after much customization, but still running the stock JF6 ROM and kernel, seems to run pretty well. Much better than my roomate's unrooted stock Vibrant, that's for damn sure. I honestly don't know what the difference is. I've used OS monitor to see usage, and he actually has significantly more free RAM than I do. 170MB to ~100MB. I have reflashed using Odin one click, and am rooted with all bloatware removed. The Evo black bar and Launcher mod are installed, and I'm using Beautiful Widget and Live Wallpaper. He is using no widgets and a static wall paper with ADW launcher.
I got nothin'.
My Captivate is stock, haven't even rooted it yet, and I generally don't have problems with lag. I notice it boots very slow, takes probably 10 min to settle down after boot. But once everything settles in there is very little lag. I'm coming from a Tilt2 with an Energy ROM. I have noticed animated wallpaper will slow it down a bit and certain widgets. The compass widget slowed mine down a LOT.
If you ask me, yes, it's a big problem. The lag is very noticeable and very annoying. Fortunately, as stated, there are fixes out that works very well.
As I'm sure you can tell from the comments its all relative. I came from an iPhone 3GS, and didn't really notice lag. I saw occasional lag when I have a lot running, but what can you expect with an OS that actually does multitasking. I use Advanced Task Killer (free in market) to kill things I don't need. I didn't see a speed boost, but saw a lag less often. I installed Taytanna(?) Lagfix and it does feel snappier. I wouldn't say the lagfix is a must, but see no reason not to get a little more bang for your Buck. Its a simple safe process.

I just bought this thing and I love it, but I've noticed it gets VERY laggy sometimes. I don't have very much running, since I just bought it yesterday, but it lags almost as much as my G1 did 2 years ago!
Swiping between homescreens gets very jittery and it just overall feels slow compared to my N1. Anyone else noticing lag and slowdowns or is it just me?
Hmm. I never have noticeable lag on my MT4G. Try doing a factory reset.

Nope, much quicker than my vibrant.
Solution: Launcherpro
I don't notice any. Snappiest Android phone I have had to date. And I have had a lot
I noticed the lag as well when comparing with my Vibrant that is stock. Also the MT4G screen doesn't seem to be as responsive as the Vibrant. The webpage scrolling was also jerky as compared to Vibrant. I was all set on getting the MT4g but what I saw yesterday at the store really disappointed me.
How do you stop the initial lag when you wake the phone up. I believe it is due to the opening animation of sense ui. it even happens when i use launcher pro. i know this because in launcher pro i can see the sun animation going off. this causes me to pause before i can do anything on the phone.
example: wake phone up from sleep with the power button.
unlock is ok
say i need to make a call, i press the phone icon but nothing happens if i press it too fast after unlocking the phone. i always have to wait a second.
how do i turn that off so i can operate my phone in stride?
no lag here still waiting on the ota my gf got it and she hit update before i was able to grab it -__-

Is it the weather clock animation that you have to wait for? If so, then remove the clock and re-add it. When you add it back it will ask you if you want animation, just uncheck and it wont do that anymore.
I had LauncherPro on my Nexus and loved it, but with MySense I decided not to use it since Sense has everying I liked about launcher pro built in.
Mine will be extremely fast sometimes and VERY slow sometimes, it's weird. I can't explain the extreme slowdowns. My Nexus felt a lot faster than this one with a slower processor and less RAM. I can only think it's the HTC UI, but I have animations turned off and it's still laggy.
I just ran quadrant and got a score of 1981! This is after the update. This thing is ridiculously fast for me with no lag at all.

hey i noticed the sun animation when i woke up my phone but that was not the htc sense weather thing. it was a weather app i downloaded from the market. i forget what it is called but it had an app on and it did the sun thing everytime i unlocked my screen even when it wasnt there. so i uninstalled it and never had that problem again

i dont have issues with lag but i think the vibrant has the best gpu on the market so that could help it with scrolling pages but my mt4g doesnt get jerky at all when scrolling pages. but also the vibrant gets better fps in quadrant test but the mt4g gets a much higher score stock vs stock.
I also noticed after a full day of use, when I check my battery usage "Android System" is the number 1 use of my battery, almost 50%. I talked on the phone for half an hour, sent 5-6 text messages and looked at 3-4 web pages. The only apps I had running were FriendStream (set to update Facebook only every 4 hours), the clock widget (updating every 3), News (updating every 4 hours), WiFi and Bluetooth on. My Nexus always showed Android System as maybe 15% of my battery with a TON of apps running. It seems like the OS on this phone is doing A LOT in the background that I don't know about...
Maybe that could be the cause of the lag I'm seeing?
Any ideas?

I've had an Hero, EVO, N1, Vibrant, G2 and now the MT4G. This is the fastest most lag free phone I've used yet. Not that it helps, but I've not seen any lag at all.
I've had the biggest case of lag on mine as well . Turned out phone was defective. Call the store you got it from and see if they issue you a new one. I went to get my new one and experience no lag at all.
so alot of complains and issues arise on this update and people with good things to say gets buried and i know some issues gets polarized or overblown because 1 person has these issue and the one who read it looks for it and then bam!! a non-issue becomes a bigger issue... so what does the update did to your phone?treat these as a feel-good thread..lol!!!
- screen color got fixed
- the orientation lock issue when using google sky map is fixed
- gps accuracy can display 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 meters, etc now. it could only display 5, 10, 30 and 50 before the update.
- video recording always maxes at 29 or 30 fps even when there's low lighting
It fixed the purple tint for me, colours are now great on my phone, fixed a HSDPA connection issue that I was having and also the CPU process error where initialisation was constantly at 100%.
I never experienced the random reboot problem.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
as for the color issue my eyes are not too discriminatory so no issue for
random reboots have yet too find out as i experience it a couple times (not too annoyed, windows has bsod and random lock ups and theyve been working with windows since dinosaur age!)
seems faster start up
higher quadrant score
Well I noticed that web page scrolling has gotten a lot smoother. Another improvement is on the keyboard when u slide from the ?123 key to get at the other characters and then release, the keyboard changes back to the ABC QWERTY board which is very nice.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I absolutely hate the colours now, so that's NOT an improvement for me.
But, it fixed the 100% init process CPU utilization, as well as improving my performance significantly (nearly 200 points added to my Quadrant score). Also my phone now displays "WIND Home" and "WIND Away" which was not functioning before.
I particularly want to hear from people who had custom ringtone issues whether those have been fixed. This is the single most aggravating problem I have with my phone.
-Video playback has been improved, no longer choppy on files found from lubetube xxxx.
-Overall speed improved.
-Switching from 3g to wifi, system regain connection is much faster, it used to be taking >10 sec.
-battery life seems improved during idling.
I do get one time of sudden reboot when browsing on Google map

There may be a patch for baseband inside the update, and I don't see radio "crash" anymore. Now i think Nobars is no longer needed. signal is super unstable in my bedroom, often drop and reconnect, but after one night, i still can see signal coming back, without any reboot!this was the fix i wanted most

+100 on this one. Seems to be working a lot better for me. I just hope CM7 picks it up soon.
For me with 2.3.2 the capacitive touch buttons especially home was too sensitive. Just a little touch on the bottom corner of the phone was interpreted as home button touch. This was really frustrating.....but once I updated to 2.3.3 it don't see this problem anymore ;-)
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I have the backup of 2.3.3 so ill restore when I get in the house. I just have to restore my apps
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
So is it confirmed that the 2.3.3 update improves the wifi strength issue? Also with the updated radio does it improve signal reception inside of buildings?
Sent from my Nexus S
Oh the colors are so much more natural in 2.3.3! I love this.
I'd like to take a few more days to see whether the cellular radio freezing fixed or not, but I see the battery is a bit better with 2.3.3.
The update killed swype, but it fixed after reinstallation.
It seems better for me!
I currently have a Vibrant and I feel like this phone was a total POS until almost 6month later when voodoo lag fix came along and ROMS started to come out that had working GPS, better data, etc etc... If not for the dev community I would have thrown this thing out the window the 2nd time the GPS couldn't find me on google maps...
I love tinkering with a phone, but I also want to start with a phone that doesn't have random reboots, crappy GPS, slow file system lag and all the other crap I had to deal with the Vibrant (and my first android MyTouch 3g)... Althought most issues have been ironed out now, it took almost a year since I first purchased my Vibrant, and I am looking to upgrade either to G2x, Sensation or GSII. Don't want to start a battle which is better, but from what I gathered so far from G2x:
-Screen: hit or miss, some complain about bleed, some say its the best thing ever... seems like the quality control is really a hit or miss with the display
-Data: Won't connect to 4g network, generally seems to be unreliable and signal strength weaker than most phones but has a great GPS
-Battery: Heard there is a battery drain issue, some say its corrected with factory reset?
-Integration: Stock android 2.2? So I am guessing contacts aren't linked together to social network profiles?
-Build Quality: Better than most other phones, rock solid not many complain
-Speed: Looks like its a pretty quick phone for running on an un-optimized OS, will get quicker with updates
Before anyone starts praising and telling me this phones potential and that CM is going to make this awesome, I really don't care... my Vibrant had the potential to not be a total POS either, a year later its somewhat tolerable and right about the time when dual core phones have come out and me starting to look for upgrade. So I guess I just want to know what are some known issues with the phone today that you guys have noticed. I know there is no perfect phone, but I want something that can be tolerable for at least a little while before a custom rom comes out that doesn't breaks more things than it fixes
Me Personnally
I too also came from the vibrants ., and was also fed up with the crappy support from samsung, and that an official cm has still not seen the light of day.
Thats the reason i got the g2x. From what i heard, its completely open. Alot of the top devs for cm have or are getting the phone.
I think the screen bleed is something that everyone is going to have to get used too. I have some bleeds at the corner of my screen too.
Performance wise; without tweaks, just straight out of the box for me, this has destroyed my vibrant with teamweaskys latest rom.
I wont get the sensation because of the locked bootloader, and i am not going to trust or put up with the crap that samsung gave us with the vibrant.
This phone is AWESOME!!!!!!! i am loving it so much.
apart from the screen bleed, all the other issues you see here, are all temporary, i mean real temporary.
Ps
Saw a tweet come in with some peeps already running gingerbread on there gx2
Same Reason why I bought the phoen was because the bootloader is unlocked, but unfortunately this phone has to many other issue's.

These are my opinions.
-Screen: Yes, some bleed more than others. I think this issue has been blown way out of proportion as it seems the majority of users have to manipulate screen brightness, environment and content displayed on the screen in order to show bleed.
-Data: I only have 2G in my area. When I'm out in 4G areas away from home, I just set the connection to force 4G data and it's smokin' fast, never drops.
-GPS: Most of the time it locks on instantly for me on any Froyo ROM. Sometimes it takes about 60 seconds. If it looks like it's going to take a while, I usually close Maps, open GPS Status & Toolbox to refresh the AGPS data and it'll lock solid again. This should be fixed as soon as Gingerbread drivers are available.
-Battery: Battery is up to par with other Android phones in my opinion. Seems better on any tweaked out Froyo or Gingerbread ROM.
-Integration: I don't use social network/contact integration so I can't even touch on this. Don't know how and not interested. Sorry.
-Build Quality: Good weight, doesn't feel cheap. Generally accepted that it has Gorilla Glass. I have a couple extremely light scratches on my screen, so it's probably a good idea to get a screen protector if you care about such things. I just haven't touched a screen protector I like so I don't use one. I've taken the back off about 15 times and there is now one spot on the phone that if I squeeze, it creaks a little bit. Can't tell with normal use and still feels solid.
-Speed: Stock ROM is a little sluggish but with a couple flashable mods, maybe a kernel, this phone is super fast. I don't even feel the need to overclock. Currently running EaglesBlood Froyo 1.05 with faux's froyo kernel at the time of this writing.
Hope some of this helps you out.
Edit: And with an unlocked bootloader, just flash recovery and start crackflashing away. Love not messing with bootloaders.

I can atest this also has happened to me. LG has a class action suit against them, you should all file your complaints.
I made a thread about this because it could give insight as to whether there are deeper hardware issues that could lead to some of these software instabilities;
The 3.5 mm audio jack has very audible noise/hiss on it when the amplifier is turned on (up to 1 second after any sound finishes playing, such as after the tone you hear when changing the ringer volume). This should be completely inaudible if the circuit itself is designed properly and everything is shielded where it should be, and if the components related to power supply/filtering are working properly. If someone could test this (takes 5 seconds) with their good and faulty phones, stock or modded, it may demonstrate something.
More: non-reboot bugs. On pressing the power button to unlock the phone today (3 days since factory reset, 1.5 weeks since buying) the unlock slider is missing, except for the white triangle pointing to the right. Sliding it makes it appear and play the animation, and it appears next unlock.
Another random: Holding volume down until it is vibrating non-stop and then powering down the phone causes some apps to show and do random things after the power down animation plays, before the screen suddenly blanks.
I still urge owners of variably configured G2x's to test for the presence of noise as described in my thread- if LG has hardware problems instead of all software, not everything is safe by modding the ROM. Perhaps the noise is shoddy software coding. The DAC and opamps used here would not create that, only the circuit design.

I don't even think I own a pair of headphones anymore... hahaha. I'll try this with a set of powered speakers as soon as my children let me.
Wow I was going to buy G2x. Can anybody answer about 4G data part who use it on regular basis? Is it really not reliable?
I was thinking of upgrading from HD2 to g2x mainly because of 4G and front camera, but if 4G is not properly working on this one, I have to select some different phone then..
I picked up a Sensation at Walmart today to compare to the G2X and see what the fuss was all about. First impression was downright disappointing and the more I use it the more I am starting to miss using my G2X.
I'm going to force myself to use the Sensation for at least 2-3 days before I return it because right now I'm longing for my G2X. I really don't get why people are leaving G2X to get Sensation. I have both now and the G2X is night and day a better phone to me.
Things I've noticed so far after only a few hours:
- Sensation takes much longer to boot than G2X - I thought the Sensation had frozen at startup but nope, taking its time
- Worrying most to me - a few times the touchscreen will just stop responding to touches. I have to hit a soft key or something and then it starts working again. Very weird.
- Weirdly slow wifi speeds. I get 2mbps down on my Sensation while I get 30mbps down on the G2X - Same router/AP. No other changes?!?
- Screen resolution on Sensation is excellent for reading text and whatnot BUT it's horrible for color saturation and viewing angles. Just holding a G2X next to it really is quite a drastic difference
- Lag city due to Sense and other overhead. Scrolling homescreen, app drawer, lists, even apps like CNN, etc. is shockingly laggy. I hardly have anything running or widgets and it feels slower than my old Incredible with Sense. Not sure what the hell they did to this phone.
- Sense app replacements for stock apps (sms, email, etc.) are complete resource hogs and not fast like stock android. Takes forever to get things done.
I've installed Launcher Pro and am going to try running it with LP to see if it makes this phone livable. So far it's a big fat suck for me.
Will post more here.

Not a disappointment to this G2X owner. The G2X is ready to go out of the box but the Sensation requires some tweaking. First you need to turn off those silly Sense animations. Then get rid of the 7 pages worth of widgets. Go into the WiFi settings and turn on "Maximum Performance". Lastly, do not let the Sensation automatically install your applications and uncheck back up settings and app data under privacy.
-After the initial boot up, the Sensation actually boots much faster due to HTC's quick boot.
-Never had a problem with the display not responding to my Touches. It's actually miles more responsive than the G2X display since I found myself swiping 3 times to unlock the G2X. I believe you though. Some people have this problem.
-WiFi speeds are just as fast on my Sensation. I get around 20mb/s down and 8mb/s up on both devices. Want to see pics?
-Viewing angles are atrocious on the Sensation and it's contrast is not on the same level as the G2X IPS panel. That being said. Colors on the Sensation are much sharper and vibrant. I think it has better colors but this is more of a preference thing. I can tell you whats not preference and that's the brightness of the Sensations display. When viewing both devices in direct sunlight. The Sensation is a mile better than the G2X.
-The UI is not as responsive as on the G2X but when your in an app I think it's faster than on the G2X. The Sensations browser also loads and scrolls web pages faster. In the end, if you tweak Sense a little bit, there is no more lag but it's still not instant like the G2X.
-The Sense email app doesn't get used since I use Gmail. I never use manufacturer email apps due to the stock Gmail app having true push mail. The Text Message app is just as fast and better looking than the one on the G2X. I use to use Hancent until it lagged on the G2X. I am back to Hancent and it doesn't lag on the Sensation.
Everyone is going to have different experiences just like they do with the G2X. I am not biased by no means since I own both devices until I sell one. I am not in debt to either of the two.
In the end, use what you like. Everyone is going to have a different opinion. If you want to see a unbiased review than check mine out.

Either that or he's telling stories. There is no way in the world the G2X is going to boot faster when the Sensation has quick boot. It boots in 1/3 of the time it takes the G2X.

Sense has that fastboot feature which doesn't really shut down the phone, but rather puts it in a hibernate mode. From a dead start (after pulling the battery) the sensation does take longer to boot than the G2x. I say that from experience after playing with one at the store

When turning off fast boot mine boot within seconds of each other. When fast boot is on it is still rebooting the system and restoring all of your lost memory that apps suck up over the course of use.
I tested browser extensively. G2x won every time...

Is it just me or are applications on the Sensation quicker? It seems like my Sensation will load apps faster and also interact with apps faster. Just wandering if it's just me.
Sensation is slow and laggy. The sensation rom on my mt4g is way smoother, faster and less problems.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
just wondering what the benfit of this is? "do not let the Sensation automatically install your applications and uncheck back up settings and app data under privacy."
If its speed, how does this really affect the speed of the UI?

OP I have to say you sound incredibly biased. Not the least bit of objectivity in your post. You illustrate this when you say the difference in the screens is night and day. Anyone who has both (such as myself and jrwingate) will tell you if you sit them side by side there is not very much difference at all. The G2X has better viewing angles but that's about it. But one thing the Sensation does have over the G2X when it comes to the screen is uniform blacks. Since there is NO screen bleeding at all, the blacks are at least uniform..something I cannot say about the G2X. The sense replacements for certain apps such as SMS and email run perfectly fine and without lag. So your assessment is definitely without merit. You spoke about the difference in boot time...from a cold boot, they are almost the same, and when doing a quick boot, the Sensation boots MUCH faster than the G2X. All in all it sounds like either your phone is defective...or you don't really have one. I say that because too much of what you said is off base. Your description is very inaccurate (as you can see from the responses you've received in this thread). The only night and day (as you called it) difference is the difference in stability. The G2X is a good phone don't get me wrong, but until it's a stable device (freezes, random reboots, battery life) it won't stack up against a phone that is stable. I've had the Sensation now for 11 days and it hasn't crashed once. Care to guess how many times my G2X would have froze or random reboot in that same amount of time? lol ...let's just say A LOT. LOL

Side by side, they seem about equal to me. I can't really discern a difference.
Since I posted here is what else has happened:
- Was using the phone and launched Market...froze up, phone shut off wouldn't power back on. Had to pull the battery
- Phone may start fast from a warm boot but 99% of the time I never turn my phone off on purpose so the times I start it up is from a cold boot - in those cases it definitely takes FOREVER to start up compared to the G2X. Try this - the battery out of your Sensation and your G2X (assuming you have both). Now put the batteries back in and turn them on the same time. Done.
- Used Navigation and things were fine then noticed the GPS icon kept flashing and couldn't turn if off so it drained my battery and I had to do a restart (WHICH ALSO takes forever btw!!)
- LauncherPro is helping significantly, the scrolling is smooth and overall it's nice. Higher screen res is messing up some widgets
- Wifi speed is back to normal now for some reason so that's at least a good thing. No issues with data to report yet either thankfully
- My favorite thing about this phone is honestly and sadly the lock screen. Having quick access to apps from there is very nice but that's just software and sure not specific to HTC.
- HTC keyboard is garbage so I replaced with Keyboard from Gingerbread in Market.
So basically, in order for me to use this phone I've removed most of what HTC has on by default. I'm all for tweaking but this further illustrates the crap that skins do to phones. This thing running stock Gingerbread (or even Froyo) would have been quite wonderful.
I'm going to keep tweaking and keep it around for a few more days before I decide but I definitely am still missing the G2X. So far this thing doesn't do anything particularly better for me than the G2X. IMHO.
F THIS - I've decided to uninstall LP and go back to Stock Sense launcher. If I end up with LP, then I might as well use G2X. I'm going to live with this phone with stock Sense launcher so I get the real experience.

You've already decided you don't like it so do yourself a favor and return it. You've already had so many problems...funny the problems you named in here I've seen noone else have..but hey if you say you're having the problems then you're having the problems lol.... I'd still go with what the other people said, if you're really having that much trouble then your phone is definitely defective because the Sensation doesn't most of the issues you named. By the way, the data latency has a fix for it. By the way, just for good measure...I've had the phone since the 8th and have yet to experience a freeze or a crash, and the vast majority of others have had the same experience. Same can't be said for my G2X. But to be honest, the things you say in your post makes me really question the validity of it....just saying...objectivity is non-existent..
Just because I have had tons of problems with the Sensation you question my objectivity but people who post the same crap about the G2X is ok because you've had problems. Wow.
Any case, my Wifi on Sensation just slowed down again since I checked 5 mins ago...looks like I'm not the only one. Fix this for me and I'll avoid throwing this thing back in the box.
