Please help me with this recurring error. The message occurs consistently upon boot-up and then randomly.
"The application cyanogenmod setting (processcom.cyanogenmod.cmparts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I am currently running nightly 34 with the default kernel, but have had the same error with previous builds and various other kernels. Sometimes it starts up immediately after flash, sometimes starts later. This last time after 20 hours without the error, it appeared to start immediately after changing themes with Theme Chooser. I have not seen any functional problems resulting from this error; it is just really irritating.
Swype appeared to stop working at the same time (changing theme), but was fixed by reinstalling.
I solved my own problem. Previously I was using OC/UV kernel and had "Set on boot" under CPU settings checked. Must have been restored along with my apps and data. I unchecked it and the problem went away. Apparently the error was caused by asking the program to do something that it couldn't. Previous similar problems probably had a different cause but Nightly 34 seems to be real close to a RC, all functions are running flawlessly and stable. Congrats to the CM team!
Thankyou so much, I was having the same problem on my x10 but wasn't receiving any mature suggestions on what may be the cause... Thankyou

Hy all.
Its possible to port a working JIT to our device?
Or its depends on the bootloader?
Thx for the answer.
cant do that without cracked bootloader
cant do that without cracked bootloader, we need custom bootloader to port any os to phone.
Thx for the answer
here you go JIT for 2.1 .... needs ROOT
I didn't try it

Theres a thread already on this:

what does that have to do with jit? :|

lol they're discussing jit in there, it's pretty helpful and some of them have it running.

Whats the use?!
It's true. I'm running it as well, but it's thanks to zephyrix that I found out about it, though.
Try it out for yourself.
Is not stable though...
Or i'm unlucky and nobody else have problems with reboots
Thx to everybody
Finally JIT is working
i've had one reboot so far, and i'm not sure if it was JITs fault...it happened when i activated GPS in Motonav, after it rebooted it was fine, and everything worked
2.1 has some rebooting problems without jit dont blame everything on jit...
Instead of linking an unrelated thread for an answer, why not modify the thread that actually is about JIT to explain and provide instructions on it. It's not that difficult for the OP to grab the information that he just read to get it working and share it in a clear and concise manner. Or is that too much to ask?

VMlibs.zip isn't available. Does anyone have a copy they could share?
Not played with JIT since I had my Nexus.
I enabled JIT on my device, and at first there where no problems
But after a day or two I've notice that applications and accessories are closing/crashing silently in the background.
For instance:
Mediascape:
* Sometimes stops playback for no whatsoever reason. Just press play to start playback again.
* Closes for no whatsoever reason nor error messages. Just restart it again. Happens no matter if it's active onscreen (foreground) or in status bar (playing in background)
* Sometimes force closes if I try to change Shuffle/repeat functions.
* Suddenly changes track in middle of a current one, no buttons pressed, Phone lying on table. With/Without bluetooth devices.
Xperia's "Messaging" app:
* Sometimes force closes in middle of a message being typed. (Error message)
* Sometimes silently closes in middle of a message being typed. (No visible errors or whatsoever)
Games, <Insert any game title here>:
* Suddenly closes down silently. (No visible error messages)
* Suddenly force closes. (Default "Force closed" error message)
* Ingame sound suddenly stops working. (Have to restart game to restore sound)
* Suddenly freezes. (Manually killing game in question to restore device functionality)
With Bluetooth devices:
* Suddenly closes down the connection to a Bluetooth handfree device. Reverts current call back to phone.
* Suddenly closes down the connection to a Bluetooth handsfree device. Does not revert current call back to phone. (Call continues on the imaginary device that got disconnected)
* Sometimes huge "hickups" in Bluetooth data streams. Takes from a few seconds to several minutes to restore data stream/connection. (Underlying Bluetooth layers restarting due to silent crash?)
This is what I've experienced so far, and at first I thought it was the 2.1 firmware itself being buggy, but I decided to disable JIT and see if problems dissapeared.
And that what they did: JIT disabled = Less problems/crashes.
It seems that there are a reason to why JIT was disabled or not turned on by default in the first place.
I don't think the developers for the device disabled/didn't enable JIT just for fun.
Sure, the apps where a sliiiiight bit faster/"snappy", but on average usage I didn't notice the improvements.
The improvements are there if I look for them, but nothing I'd nor any other "average" person would notice directly.
I prefer a stable device rather than slightly "snappier" but unstable.
Did you clear the dalvik cache? I have never experienced these issues for the past 4 days I've been using JIT.

Aye, that I did. even tried to "re-clear" it.
Commands I've used to clear the dalvik cache with:
Code:
su
rm /data/dalvik-cache/*
reboot
To whomever who reads this and wondering:
No, it's not enough with the above to enable/disable JIT.
One have to follow the complete guide at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659756
I haven't had anything crashing while I'm using the apps or in the background. It works pretty well for me. I haven't even had a single random reboot of fc's. Try re-doing everything and starting from scratch and see if the problem persists... it really shouldn't.
This is now considered a beta version of Ice Cream Sandwich for the HeroC. Please keep all comments/communication about this ROM in this thread, and keep the Development thread clean for people actively working on the ROM.
No guarantees that anything will work, or that your phone will not be turned into a brick or a toaster. Please backup if you value what is currently on your phone.
You can use this with or without gapps. If you load them both on the initial setup, be sure to select "Setup Wizard" when the system first comes up.
In its current state this ROM with GAPPS needs around 155M in /system. I am currently running firerats at 160/20 just to be safe for testing purposes. I would recommend at least 155 for system.
There are some obvious places where we can reduce the size, but that will come as we continue to refine and move forward. Performance in not great, but overall it is fairly functional. Gapps are just some a minimal version to get Market working.
THIS ROM TAKES A LONG TIME TO BOOT (ESPECIALLY FIRST BOOT).
Boot animation has been added in 26NOV version. Please be patient.
This is a work in progress and there remain many Opportunities for Improvement (the gentle euphemism for Defects).
Working (at least for me):
Touchscreen
Trackball
Phone
Data
WiFi
MMS
Audio
Bluetooth
SD Card
Market
GPS
Gallery
Boot Animation
LatinIME Keyboard
Prediction/Dictionary
Network Stats (Data Usage)
Headsets (Audio Jack & HTC 11 Pin)
Not Working:
Camera
Gallery2
Graphics Acceleration

DATA ISSUES
If you are having issues with Data try the following settings:
"Data enabled" checked
"Data roaming" unchecked
"System select" Home only
If you still have issues with data, please capture the output of "adb logcat -b radio" from boot to completely booted and post it to pastebin or equivalent.
KEYBOARD ISSUE
Attached below is a replacement keyboard that doesn't have the bottom row off-screen. This is just a quick hack to get a functional keyboard. After some clean up and testing, I will include it in the releases going forward. Just replace the existing /system/app/LatinIME.apk with this one for the time being.
Reserved 2
This is also reserved for later use.
Nice.

hmmm after the HTC screen, i get a black screen showing nothing. Plugged the charger and shows charging light.. Still waiting for it, it's been like 3 minutes. im on 170 40 mtd settings. K nvm it setup just appeared. For those that are trying, wait for it.
EDIT: K been messing around with it (sorry for all these edit, just trying to prevent a lot of posts and I am awake this late so might as well show some heads up) but problems I found
1) Keyboard is half (missing space bar and the alt function)
2) Screen orientation is choppy
3) Im missing the actual market app, might be firerats issue
I found a pointless feature.. but using the trackball brings up a cursor lol didn't know it'd do that. Making it "click" u have to press the ball then scroll quickly rather than just keep clicking the ball.
Thank you ICS Team. Other than the items listed in the OP, I cannot get data to work. Phone is stuck on No Service and every few minutes will jump to roaming and then back to no service. If I try to call a number with the dial pad, the dial pad disappears after I press send, I assume this is because I have no cell signal. Could not test google apps due to no data. I was still able to play with the home screen, widgets, etc.
@ Majin101, my keyboad seems to be working ok, I do have the market app but haven't tried to use it yet. I am not using firerats mod. If anyone else tries to flash this, make sure you wait a few minutes for the rom to boot as mentioned in the above post. You will see a blank screen but it will eventually boot.
This is going to be a great rom. If you use a different keyboard you also get space and alt to show up.
Findings.
Okay, Seems nice. There is no bootscreen, so be patient, when setting up, choose "setup wizard"(this is kind of a no brainer, but you never know). Alright:
1. Data isn't working, I changed the roaming settings, but it didn't help.
2. As mentioned in an earlier post, the keyboard is missing some keys.
3. I do however have the market application. I used the gapps in the op and am using firerats 160 40
Really amazing work. The fact that this is even running on my hero amazes me. And they thought it would have trouble with eclair

Data is working well for me with the following settings:

Try that, and if you still have issues with data, please capture the output of "adb logcat -b radio" from boot to completely booted and post it to pastebin or equivalent.
As i was installing in cwm i got an error stating "random offset: 0 x 150" yet the rom still installed. Any ideas as to what this was/is?

I got the same error. It booted just fine and I thus ignored it. Would be nice to know though.
For those that want to fix the keyboard, just download ics keyboard from market. For those that cannot download from market, use root explorer to go into "cache" and create a folder named "downloads", for those that want to increase scrolling speed etc., flash the TweakZ.zip found in the android general forum here at XDA. I would also recommend setCPU.
I also got Random Offset 0x1ba. Once rebooted, HTC screen showed up then black screen. I waited 10 min but it looked frozen. So I pulled the battery. Then I accidentally formatted my SD card and the fun was over.

The "random offset" comment has to do with the flashing of the kernel. I'm not entirely sure but I think it has to do with the way the boot.img is packed. Should be harmless though..
Good to see you'll got this thing running though.

Another feedback!
pros
1) Ive been texting sending and recieving just fine no problems (havent tried mms)
2) Made calls talked fine (although my face kept hitting the end button..)
3) Installed swype, texting is fine now and changed the dictionary too english to get rid of those red lines under the words
4) Also increased pointer speed to just use the trackball if needed
other bugs:
1) Noticed that some of my notification doesn't make a sound or plays
2) When I play music its coming through the ear piece speaker rather than the back speaker
3) google map fails to login
Darn looks like I have to go back to CM7.1. People try to call me but my won't won't tell me someone is calling and their isn't any sound either. Also the gallery app opens but doesn't show pictures and apps are missing from the market but thats probably a build.prop issue.
-------
Just flashed without mtd and it seems to be working better. I'm receiving calls and can hear my sound now.
Great job guys! Running for about an hour and besides the above mentioned bugs, I've noticed one more.
When I put the phone on the charger it becomes unresponsive and the screen goes dark. No way to wake the phone nor is the charging led on.
The only way I can charge the phone is to do a battery pull and boot the phone while on the charger.
mines charging and im still able to use it?
Very Impressive, to say the least!
*note for the development team - you are the F-ing man!!!!
Hello there everyone. I am suffering from a problem that is both annoying and crucial. I restarted my phone to let the system recheck itself, and upon restart, all of the widgets in WidgetLocker said they needed to be found again and set up. (Tap to restore. This has happened before when I restart the phone). HTC had a notification in my status bar saying that it was an abnormal reset.
More than that, I have lost all of my calendars. So I went to "Calendar" and saw that there were no events. So I went to settings and the app immediately crashed. I can replicate this every time. So I went to "Sync" and manually started that calendar account to sync, and it gave the message:
"Sorry! The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Trying again yielded: "The application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." The third try yielded the first result.
The thing is, it isn't a ROM or flashing issue. I am completely stock, HTC Sensation 4G, 2.3.4, on T-Mobile.
There are only three things I can think of. I had some crashing issue a month ago that I never learned the cause of, which also made the WidgetLocker widgets disappear. I enabled the experimental menu in WidgetLocker last night, though I have not touched anything. I also noticed the phone being slower lately.
I would really appreciate help here, because I just can't live without my calendars, and being reluctant to restart my device because I will have to set up all of my widgets is just a pain.
Thank you very much for your help,
- SensationNation
Any help? I really need to fix this issue. I depend on my calendars to be on top of things and know what is going on.
Hello everyone,
I installed the CM 7.2 based ROM from this thread [ROM][GB\ICS\JB][2012.09.04]Slim-CM7,CM9,CM10,AOKP.
It works fine but in about 2 months I experienced a weird behaviour.
When using the phone (it always happened using FB application but it could be just a coincidence) a message comes up and the all the running applications close.
From that point on, even after a reboot, every application I try to launch... closes immediately.
The only (that I know) way to exit this situation is to restore to default settings and so I have to reinstall everything.
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Nobody is working or developing on CM7 sources anymore. Switch to CM9 or CM10 or Slim Bean 3.1.
I recommend CM9 if you don't want random Force Closes, 'cuz it's yet the most stable ROM for our device.
CM9 installed!
Thanks for the tip and have a nice day.
I had been using an older version of the PACman ROM for a while without too much difficulty, then did an in-place upgrade to the latest version, clearing cache/dalvik. This caused severe lag and stuttering. Using Chrome was next to impossible sometimes because scrolling would just stop, swipes would register late, and taps might hit the wrong link cause the page decided to shift down before registering the tap. Additionally, booting was horrendous, especially waiting for WidgetLocker to load and start working so I could unlock.
Tried switching to the Marla kernel. No help.
Then decided to go slightly further back to the source with the PA ROM. Stuttering is gone but phone randomly reboots frequently. I'll just be browsing FlipBoard or Facebook or using Chrome and the bootanim will appear. Tried hiding Halo. Didn't help. Tried installing Marla. Didn't help.
Also got CatLog to try to diagnose the reboots but I don't know what to look for. So many more errors at the E level than I thought there would be. And having to tap each one to find the approximate time of the reboot didn't help much.
Considering going to straight CM but I really don't want to lose the app DPI stuff from PA.
Any ideas?

Odin stock , factory reset then flash twrp and pa.
So I guess I haven't fixed it yet. Did the restore to stock, flashed Carbon, Marla, gapps. Would still freeze for a few seconds and reboot occasionally. I've updated to latest nightly 3 times now, every time formatting system/data/cache/dalvik.
The only thing I can think of is an incompatibility between Carbon and Marla. I've had same problem while using Moretz too.
On top of the reboots, sometimes YouTube stutters now, with the sound cutting out in a glitchy/clicky way, seeming to be CPU/IO related, not network. Never had that with stock so it's a big step backward.
More info: DPI is changed to 160, Xposed app settings, NFC frozen, Greenify, Lookout.
Not sure where to start to fix this. Reboots 2-5 times a day.
