Have updated the attached APK with a new installation/setup wizard and other niceties. Will put it on the market tomorrow sometime
This beta is now on the market if anyone is interested: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.everybodyallthetime.android.quickagenda.trial
Still looking for feedback on this if anyone else time to test it
Just updated the market version to 0.9.2 which allows multi row widgets.
Downloading now.
Thunderbolt ¡das BAMF!
Cool, let me know what you think

0.9.3-Beta now on market, various fixes to update logic and import/export ics files.
Multi row widgets now allow you to choose the top row and show upcoming for the others (settings->widget->event mode->chosen top, others upcoming).
Choose a row by opening the Quick Agenda, tap and hold then press "choose event"
I was looking for something to replace Smooth Calendar widget and after I tested few other, I tested Quick Agenda.
It was a litle pain to understand how to configure it, but after I managed to set it, I have to say that it is the agenda widget I was looking for!
It is working very good in my system (look at my sig ).
Feedback left on Android Market (John - Apl 17)...
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you like it!
Any suggestions on what I can do to make the setup easier to understand? (e.g. what did you have trouble with?)
Hard to make suggestions as I'm starting to get used to the settings...
Meanwhile, I think I found a little bug: I had four appointments for tomorrow and using the left side panel (Quick Agenda) I changed the day to April 20.
The display was refreshed ok after a minute.
After that, using again the Quick Agenda menu, I changed the dates again to April 23, but the displaying appointments were not refreshed (they were on April 20).
So, Quick Agenda had the 4 appointments showing on April 23 but the main widget menu was showing them on April 20 (when I clicked on each one to edit, the date was on April 20).
After I opened the settings menu for widget and for Quick Agenda and closed it, the display was corrected to April 23.
Something else I want to ask for, if it is possible to select a span for the days ahead which is going to be displayed in widget (e.g. only the following 3 days, etc.)
Thanks in advance
So you would like the widget to refresh when one of the events on it changes? Should be possible!
Span of days is pretty easy as well.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Maybe would be a good idea to have a service running in the background to make possible to change immediately the widget contents when an event changes or in an addition/deletion of an event (in Smooth Calendar there was the selection of auto update (for the widget) which started the background service)

Yep, an ugly content observer doing something its not supposed to the background is the way I will be doing it
Should get to it later this afternoon or tomorrow, I will try to make it steal as few resources as possible!

Done, this new setting is available in market (along with the "event look ahead"/span of days feature and other enhancements). It is sort of hidden in customize widget->update settings->Refresh on change (at the bottom).
Let me know how it goes!

Thanks.
I'm going to test it and tell you how it goes
Early first impressions
After installing new beta, I have to remove old widget and set all over a new one
The worse: I was almost done with my settings and I was in Quick Agenda's setting page. I pressed the bottom selection ('Widget setting') and I had Force Close
Every time I press the above selection it gives Force Close (the message it gives is:
"The application QuickAgenda (process com.everybodyallthetime.android.quickagendatrial) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Oh no! Sorry about your settings, I will be adding a restore feature soon to load settings from other widgets (I should probably add tis function first next time).
I think I have fixed the widget settings button (uploaded a new version to the market just before). Does it fix fit?
EDIT: PM'ed you my email address, maybe we can recover the prefs
Ok I got your pm.
I'm going to send you an email in a few minutes...
This app is getting close to release time, check it out while it is free!
Recent changes:
Save/Load widget settings
rejigged the settings some more
changed the default view to be upcoming and chosen
Layout upgrades
I realized yesterday, that I think this app has an identity crisis.
Its not quite a popup agenda app
Its not quite an agenda widget app
Its not quite a count down widget app
Its not quite an ical handler app
It has all these functions though they are all muddle together.
The 2nd and 3rd are easy, remove the "single row" option from the current widget and make another widget called "countdown". But this could also be a separate application.
The first one is hard. I could release Quick Agenda as just the agenda popup and allow other applications (such as a new countdown widget app or new agenda widget app) to interface with it or I could leave it built in to this weird Frankenstein app I have already created.
The last one should be in all my apps
Any opinions?
Rename Apps is designed to create an alias/shortcut for original apps (and not change original icon/name). It's useful to hide secret apps, create alias for apps in other language, and so on. It also allows to create an launchable shortcut for hiden activities/packages
Features:
☆ Create shortcut for launchable apps with different name/icon
☆ Rich icon set: build-in icon set, application's icons, image gallery, online source (from www.iconfinder.com)
☆ Dual panel views (for large screen, tablet)
☆ Quickly load app list, filter app list
Note:
- For security reason, no way to change original name/icon of a published app.
Price: 0.99$

I use this app and it is great for changing over-long app titles and dodgy icons. Thanks.
Since I got some experience from my Simple RSS Widget app, I made a similiar app for calendar events: Simple Calendar Widget.
The widgets font size, color & background color is adjustable and the widget is resize- & scrollable.
The app is free & without ads or scary permissions. As it makes use of the new widget features from Honeycomb & ICS, you need at least Android 3.0 to use this widget!
If anyone is interested in making a nice app icon for the market, please contact me!

There is already a great app called Simple Calendar Widget on the market - by Alexander G. Did you search app names before creating yours?
mh well, i might change that name then. it's just very similiar to my "simple rss widget" and therefore i named it like that. also it is just a calendar widget and it is very, very simple ^^
This is a nice widget to show some upcoming events. Can you add the ability to customize the date format shown when using the option "Show current date"? I like to use Today and Tomorrow for the events themselves and it's nice to have the current date on my screen, and even better if I can customize it! Thanks!

when checking that checkbox, you should get a popup asking for the date format
Yes I see now. Don't know how I missed it. Thanks!
Hello j4velin,
the question is very similar as it was in 2013
In Appereance at every date section I see date format, and the default is custom. But, how can I customize? I'd like "mmm.dd., dddd" format
Thats really well made and accurate widget. Simple. Customizable. Top and bottom shading ensure widget very organic among other stuff on desktop.

Question and answers
FAQ
Q. Lot of apps don't get categories after the first install or after a restore
A. After the first install, JINA has to go online to search categories for installed apps. Right now this step is not automatic and should be manually started using the "Retrieve app categories" function on the sidebar menu
Q. How can i see app details?
A. From listview you can activate the app detail function either by using the 3 dot button on the app row or by double tapping on the app row. From the gridview (thumbnails) you can double tap the app icon.

Actually, one about UI....currently i am not a big fan of that Circle obscuring my view...how about moving that switch down, left or down right where there is still space.
Also...in regular keyboard mode, You have a line where U can see the search phrase, but not in T9...U might make that the same for consistencys sake...not sure also If it is needed, since we allready see what we are typing in realtime among results...but could be an extra option?....
Anyhow...that circle with X/magnifying glass could be put in the same row with other icons...IMHO

Yes i agree, me too i feel that in T9 search mode the bottom toolbar is a bit "poor" but what kind of feedback should i give? numbers?
p.s. stay tuned, desktop folders for categories are almost finished
Added Desktop Folders for categories and better App Detail management on tablet layout.
Hmm not many of my apps get a category .. and before I'd assign them myself I'd rather use the Categories I already have from "Folder Organizer" app.
Also I do find that the letterbar is often not responsive and I keep intiating actions I don't want.
About the source filter .. no multiselection is possible and there is no simple reset .. I don't think this is really usable at the moment.
Just some feedback
I meant this…

First, thanks for the feedback, that's why this thread exists
You don't get categories neither if you try to refresh the category in the app detail? If so, can you please tell me a couple of apps that don't get a category?

You are right, i didn't notice there is a conflict with the category sliding tab on the right, i have to fix it.

Ok right again, i'll add an option to reset the source filter. Right now there is only a way to reset all filters by tapping on the action bar title.

Does anybody know the name of the activity for turning on Negative Colors, or at least for entering the Vision menu in Accessibility?
I'm using Apex Launcher and I'm trying to set up a home screen shortcut for inverting the colors (other than Samsung's triple-clicking the home button, because I don't want to break it) by finding the proper activity from Settings. I've found the activities for color correction, magnification, closed captions and a bunch of other stuff from Accessibility, but I can't find the Negative Colors one or the Vision sub-menu one.
Maybe there are some knowledgeable folk out there that can find out the activity's name, or even if it is to be found in Settings or some other system app. I haven't been able to track it down manually, but there are a lot of items to scroll through in Apex's activity list for shortcuts.
I don't know where our if there is an activity, but there is the Negativecolours Widget app available in the Samsung Galaxy Apps Store. Unfortunately, Nova Launcher does not show it available as an activity either, but at least it's something that can be put on the home screen somewhere.
