Can someone answer me what a Torrent is?
Google is your friend.
Torrents are used for peer to peer sharing online and combined with a program such as bittorrent or utorrent you can download torrent files. you can find basically any program, video, or music hosted on torrent sites. be safe with the downloads, look for good comments and more seeds than leachers.

So using Android, what do you recommend for a complete noob to this process? And who should I talk to about starting to figure this out?
I've never heard of torrents to download for your phone... what are you trying to do?
Torrents are more for things like computer programs, games, movies, and music.
Was checking out the Android Market, and there was a program called Transdroid that caught my attention. Figured I better find out just what it was before I started messing with it. Sounds like its something that ties my phone into my computer, so will probably avoid it for now.
Thanks for the information!
I use tTorrent lite.
https://market.android.com/details?id=app-hu.tagsoft.ttorrent.lite
You could likewise install orbot and run thru tor network (a bit technical - but the option is there).
I use this formthe occasional download from my pad...
Hope this helps.

So you can't do cross-platform or create a separate account on that site, or does it cost money?
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
You can create for Android/IOS/WinMo7 but for iphone you need a certificate to sign the file before they build / release it to you
Yeah i went to appmakr.... it's not all that good. All you can do is make rss feed/ news based apps, thats about it. Not even the style is all that customizable.
My $0.02
I've been using an iPhone for a long time for one reason - Stanza Reader. By the looks of things, it might not get an update to make it compatible for iOS 5 so now, I'm reviewing my OS options. I've already found an ebook reader app on Android so just need to know what options are available for WP7. I know Kindle is available but I need something that is able to read side-loaded DRM-free ePub files. Any suggestions?
Try Freda.
Thanks for the recommendation! Don't have a WP7 device yet, but I'll definitely try that if/when I buy one.
You may try Freda in emulator...

Thanks. Didn't even know that an emulator was publicly available.
It is.. U can Download it at Microsoft.. Same place where u get application deployer..
I used to use freda & dropbox to transfer ebooks to wp7.
For those who can read Chinese, I recommend 书中圣 which can transfer ir ebooks via WiFi network..

or you can use overmedia. you can find it on the market, it's free.
Hi,
You can try "eBook Reader Plus - Your Free eBook Reader app". It's nice, with the search box on it you can find and download your favorite book in pdf format. There are nearly 10,000 books available in it right now, more are being added. With other essential features, the app is really so cool.
You can find it on Google Play or Google searching by the name.

These are files and they come from your phone.
Ahh, is that why they show up in a file explorer on my phone?
Doesn't explain why they just appeared one day.

How about you invest some time and don't assume every uses magic glass ball to know what you want.
There are 10 files on that screenshot, which one bothers you?
Well i guess you mean the file created 31 Dec, so why not tell me that?
You want the help, so don't let others do you work, do some research yourself, present others your result and THEN ask your question.
You did not even seem to have bothered google with "one" search first:
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=android+file+named+"mr.log"
Oh look at that 3rd entry.
A virus called "Yxes.A" creates a "mr.log" file, though the reports only talk about symbian OS.
You might have a virus...
NO STOP! Keep your finger of the reply button, don't ask how to remove it.
GOOGLE IT then come back tell us what you found and why it didnt work...
More specifically, the rc and sh files. The first thing I did was Google them, but the results meant nothing to me.
My reply wasn't meant to sound arsey so I apologise if it came across that way.
