I played modern combat 1. Hated it, but I heard they made a lot of changes for the second one. I won't be buying it though unless it starts getting major praises from multiple people/blogs... or if it drops to a buck or something.
Samurai II is a really amazing game. I was very on edge about buying it too, but decided to take the risk and get it. gameplay and graphics are fun and amazing, but I do wish the game was longer. If you enjoy a good game, then I think its worth it, but be warned its not very long. Who knows... you might not like very long games
Lol for the price of these games they should be decent long although we can't have everything. Lol thanx for the thought I will probably buy samurai this month and wait for more opinions on modern combat...

I bought Modern Combat 2 and after trying several times to play it I uninstalled it. It's a well-meaning attempt of this type of game, but just like trying to play an FPS on a PSP, it is way too difficult to get around and shoot accurately. You really need two analog joysticks for this type of game. The only game I've played on PSP that does this type of thing well is SOCOM.

And that's what I'm afraid of. having a good game that I would enjoy if it was only controllable.... touchscreen fps just isn't mastered .. besides I play golden eye 007 64 on mine and that's plenty of fps for me lol

Samurai easily bests MC2. The controls for MC2 suck.

Agree. It's a shame too because on my wifes iPoo MC2 is buttery smooth.
I love modern combat 2 almost like a newer version of counter strike in the palm of your hand. samurii 2 basic hack/slash game it looks cool as hell when you finish off an enemy. I own both

Modern combat 2 is awesome.live play is even better... I had this on my sgs.not yet on my g2x... Imo.modern combat is better especially multilayer..
I have Modern Combat 2 and gotta say it's a good game...after you get past the whole "how do I control this damn thing bit". I had the same problem trying to play FPS on a console after years with a keyboard/mouse. It's just a learning curve thing. (although I did have to change it from the default setup)
I do wish there were more controller alternatives for these new games though. HDMI out and a decent bluetooth controller would be sweet...
Samurai Vengeance looks good...might have to pick that one up too.

This game is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very simple RPG where you can control up to 4 players at once. You may find it easiest to play with just 2-3.
It isn't very fancy, but the effects are really neet, and it's cell shaded cartoony. I like it. Can't believe it wasn't mentioned, and it's very playable on this, although my Encore is much nicer to play on (7" screen > 4.3")
Yeah... they just brought it out for the Sensation like 2 days ago.
This game is awesome though.

Their other game with the zombie killing looks great too. I need to find a good multiplayer game.
zombieville was removed as the sensation and evo 3d still had problems with it. should be fixed soon.
So turns out according to the official facebook page of Temple Run, We should be seeing sometime in February!
www(dot)phonesreview(dot)co(dot)uk/2012/01/13/temple-run-android-app-release-cheats-and-fans/
Sorry for the (dot). I don't have 10 posts.
Thats great news, but Temple Run is a bit old now hah No one plays it anymore
Still, it'd be great to have this on my phone
Oh that's surprising. I guess me and the rest of my school is really late.

Yeah, everyone in my school is pretty obsessed with this game. Guess we're late as well
Tapatalkin it from my IHO CM7.1'd, MIUI Themed Optimus V
haha im not trying to say its outdated, but theres this other game out and its spreading quickly around school, its also iOS only so far... I can't quite remember the name, but I don't think it'll be a big hit as Temple Run.
I saw a friend play
It's basically the game "helicopter" the classic game except with a dragon and points.
Dragon has to dodge obstacles and collect points.
I still want temple run.
Same. I see all my friends with temple run on their iPhones, and they are like, "Can your Droid do this?" And then I have to delve into the discussion on how my phone only RUNS android, its not a Droid, and by the time I've finished they have gotten bored and gone back to their game I'm still waiting for them to bring tiny wings to Android, lol. That'll never happen now though, who plays it anymore? Us Android lovers seem to miss out on the good games :/

Don't you hate when you people ask "is that a Droid!?"..I was asked so many times in school that I once replied "no *****, Droid is a brand just like iPhone is a brand, but I have an android phone"

Droid is mostly just Verizon's name for their Android phones. Not really a brand. As all Verizon's androids are "droids"

Well, I don't much like android, but needed a device for emulation. I'm getting an s2 in a trade, will it still play the latest games and emulators? I really dislike Samsung, but they're the only android OEMs who seem to be trying with android. Opinions?
definitely viable. gs2 is still a very powerful device, and considering this was released over a year ago, an amazing feat by samsung

It's faster than the Galaxy Nexus, and still on par to be a mid-high range device when compared to say a One X. So yes, for sure.
Agreed. It still does a fantastic job even with newer games. I played PES 2012 soccer on one and it ran smooth as can be. GTA also runs great as well.

The thing you have to remember is it's not just the CPU that makes it powerful; it's the GPU, which in the GSII (Mali 400) is top of the line. Seriously, fire up GTA III with maximum draw distance and effects, and turn off the frame limiter. It runs at almost 60 FPS when you don't have tons of cars and explosions on the screen.
Not a big GTA fan, I just want to play LoZ OOT and Final Fantasy games on emulators and I'll be happy.
just wait for a while to get a Galaxy s3 if you're buying new now. Otherwise, S2 was elected best phone of the year recently, so it's never a bad choice !!!
GS2 is the one of the best android smart phone up to date .
http://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxys2/awards.html
you can check their awards. im not comparing with one x ,
but still GS2 rulez the world..
It's been a while since I have had an Android, so I'm not sure if any good RTS games have come out. I know there's Starfront Collision but it's currently not available for the One X. I have been playing Land Air Sea Warfare on my iPad (best game ever, no joke) and am dying to get something like that on my One X. Any suggestions?
Try great little war game..or majesty that's a other rts, but its got pretty bad gfx lol

I have GLWG, it's ok but I am not a huge fan of turn based strategy games. Majesty looks kinda meh. Thanks for the suggestions though.
Hi all,
First of all I like to play games on handheld devices that's why I own a Vita which I kinda regret now. The gaming performance on the SIII is just amazing! See it with your eyes I've compared the same games on both devices (Asphalt, Pinball Arcade). Whatcha think?
Click on the links:

I have both as well. As much as I enjoy casual gaming on the SGS3, the hardcore gamed leave something to be desired.
As is typical with a heterogeneous hardware environment, games are often built to the lowest common denominator. Most other Android phones can't keep up with the SGS3's specs, so software companies either make incredible games that only a small percentage of users can run, or make okay games that work for most everybody. Then you also have games like N.O.V.A 3 which the SGS3 could chew up and spit out... But it's not optimized for the new hardware. It runs, but runs like crap.
The Vita's power is that it's a known variable, developers can make games that use as much horsepower as they can wring out of it and know that everyone with a Vita (both of us) can take advantage.
The Vita didn't have the strongest start, but the quality of the early games (I think Metacritic will back me up on this) is some of the best for any console. At the end of the day, I have and enjoy both. They overlap in ways that 85% of people won't need both, but I think there is enough value for the other 15% to justify both.

The Vita is having a very slow start. But I think when Ouya hits it will increase the number of high end android games potentially.
Ouya is a console from kickstarter fyi.

The Vita or 3DS are not comparable to any phones. I'd love to see Uncharted or Gravity Rush run on a phone. These devices are made for one thing, games. That's what the people are going to put millions of dollars into.
Well you're right! I'm going to upload some in-game screenshots...and yeah uncharted looks great but it's scaled down from the max resolution.... so I guess the sIII could run it too without a problem. To be clear it's a fact that we won't have AA Games on the mobile platform
The vita is actually a powerfull device, with such a bare UI and housing the SGX543MP4+ and I think 512mb ram? It should be able to render a lot of intensive games if the devs really wanted to.
The snapdragon s4/adreno 225 is based on a 28nm chipset which allows for higher bus speeds, more processing power, less power consumption and less cpu/gpu heat which in return makes it one of the most powerfull cpus in the mobile industry. That is mainly why the gs3/evo4glte/one s get incredible battery life at incredible speeds. Now if only they could use the mali 6xx + s4 quad core 28nm that would be one hell of a device

As much as I hate to say this. S III vs Vita would be Vita. iPhone vs Vita would be iPhone.
The problem with all three though is the battery. If only there was a battery that could go more than 2-3 hours of gaming.

My nexus 7 looks better and I'm guessing the one x would considering it has a nvidia terga chip too. But you have to download the thd version Of the game to use it to its full potential.

on the Vita the hardware is given + don't forget the physical buttons... gaming on the iPhone well they're optimized because there are no n+ devices to optimize for.
This may just be be, but:
BestC>PS3>PSV>SGS3>iphone 4S>Onlive:last
P.S This is a bit offtopic, but it piss's me off: EA first turned sim city "5" into a online only game and now they just turned C&C gen 2 into a PAY TO PLAY or FTP as the one's who play crap like farmvile. ( Sorry if you like that game or what ever, but This C&C thing REALLY, REALLY PISSED me off.
the vita is a game console first.
i own a vita and playing game with physical buttons will always be superior.
if you want to know vitas capabilities check out the game "tearaway" that was just announced. or little big planet, or killzone mercanery. etc.
tearaway

the gs3 will never come close to vita. the only advantage the s3 has over the vita is that i can play a wider range of games with friends. friends have android, no friends have 250$ gaming dedicated handhelds.

Yeah, that's kinda all bull****. The SIII is more powerful than the iPhone and with a much bigger screen. I might have trouble deciding between an SIII and Vita, but I'd choose a Vita over an iPhone any day. It's hard playing on a touch screen, but even harder playing on a tiny touch screen. The single thing iPhone has over Android, is a small number of games, which will likely be ported to Android anyway. And that small number of good games is not large enough to sell the iPhone over the SIII.
For those who worry about lack of physical buttons on your smartphone, rooted users can use the sixaxis controller app to use a dual shock 3 to have a controller. Not sure if iphone has something like that, but it certainly helps those wanting physical buttons and gaming on their phone.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wiek3pgBxqk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
For non rooted users can go with this, is awesome.
