Will This Change Your Mind about the Sensation 4g??? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I'll admit every day I'm closer and closer to listing my G2x on ebay, in favor of the HTC Sensation but the locked bootloader had me very worried. Fast forward to Today, and HTC CEO officially confirmed that locked bootloaders will no longer be implemented in their devices. Sooooooo, as soon as the Sensation's released date is officially confirmed as June 8th my G2x is going bye-bye. Now the G2x is an amazing device, don't get me wrong but I had the Thunderbolt when I was with verizon, and grew quite fond of HTC sense UI. I probably won't be keeping the Sensation for long either, because as soon as Samsung Hercules comes out, it's going on ebay too, lol.http://www.tmonews.com/2011/05/htc-decides-to-unlock-bootloaders-moving-forward/

I'm tempted as well but not a big fan of sense UI I also want to see what issues this phone will have when it's released.

We are talking about unlocked bootloaders on a site that deals with multiple developers making all kinds of roms and you are worried about sense LOL
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App

Nope, who would want the Sensation when the GOD of all phones is being released 2 months later? In my opinion, the G2X is slightly better than the Sensation but the SGSII/Hercules is on it's own level.

What kind of screen is the sensation supposed to have? I hope not the same as the g2 as that phone was useless in the daylight.

HTC has not stated when the new policy will take effect. I doubt the htc sensation or evo 3d will have unlocked bootloaders.
Though HTC might release the key to the public.

ya true but just sayin haha and because it has sense usually means slower updates (not like ours seem to be any faster)

That's what I was thinking, maybe they'll release it on their support site for currently locked devices.

S-LCD I believe.

I suppose it's possible that a decision made this week to nix the locked bootloaders could manifest itself on a very soon to be released device, but I'll be surprised if it is.
Future HTC phones may be more open, but it seems like wishful thinking to assume the Sensation's bootloader has been re-engineered in the last couple of weeks.
Also, I'm not so sure the Sensations hardware really measures up to what we have in our G2xs.
I'm as much of an HTC fan as anyone (see my XDA join date) I really really miss my dear departed N1, I can't bring myself to sell my MT3G, and I have two WinMo HTC phones gathering dust in a desk drawer. All that said it is nice to see someone else like LG stepping up with an enthusiasts quality device. If and when they do get the kinks ironed out this thing will be the best of the best, and wait till we see the second generation LG Android flagship.

Wow, elephants can dance...
“There has been overwhelmingly customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we’ve listened. Today, I’m confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience,”
Peter Chou, CEO of HTC

Just curious, why? The locked bootloader was everyone's biggest gripe and now that's gone. They built the N1 and G2 which were great phones and got lots of developer support. Their internal memory's a little skimpy but that's already starting to change with the EVO 3D. I'm not a fan of any one phone manufacturer but some of my best phones were HTC's. Just wanted to know what made you feel so strongly.

Choice is good. Choice is very good.

HTC can't even have a phone with good battery life. The speakers suck and sound blown. They are producing phones at such a high rate corners have to be cut. By theory, HTC devices are nice but on the end users side they are really nothing to scream to Tue gods about. They seem to worry more about that damn sense crap than putting decent displays and speaker units into the phones and bump the battery to a better mah rating. I say ditch sense and use that money to use better higher quality and appealing parts.

On a side note, the only reason why I would even consider the sensation is the screen size.

I posted this in another thread but essentially Qualcomm tends to deliver chips that look great on paper but are **** in reality and HTC's build quality leaves something to be desired. Some of my best devices have indeed been HTC devices - however, I have never had a single HTC device last as long as my Captivate did and HTC cuts corners too much for my liking. The Evo is a perfect example. Two different types of display panels, one of them with a decidedly yellow tint; the artificial bottlecap on framerate that was imposed and the piss-poor decision to use very thin Gorilla Glass which made the device very prone to instant breakage if dropped. My Captivate? I threw it across the room in a rage and it didn't even dent it. I dropped it face-first on concrete I don't know how many times and only got scratches.
Don't even get me started on battery life, shoddy driver history, and the outright lies about storage space that HTC makes. I bought an Inspire expecting to get 4GB of internal NAND - only to find out that it does indeed have 4GB of NAND but user accessible NAND was only 2GB because they formatted it for speed instead of capacity. HTC is the only manufacturer that has done this as far as I've seen and it does not give me any faith in them. Too many lies, cut corners, and replaced devices for my taste. My MT4G out of the box was the worst phone I've ever had. Dead pixels, dead headphone jack, factory reset itself twice while it was running STOCK, my menu button had to be pressed extremely hard to get it to work, etc.
The Inspire had a worse battery than the Evo did but other than that seemed to be the highest quality HTC device I'd seen other than reception and the NAND misrepresentation. The screen sensitivity was almost too much and the "capacitive matrix" was much tighter than the one on my other LCD devices. Oh and the ear piece volume is always a nightmare with HTC devices.
I'll give you dev support but with nVidia, Marvell, and Freescale joining the mobile fight and Intel also promising to jump in as well, I see some big shifts in power coming to the mobile world. Software development behind the Tegra has really taken off and I don't think I've ever seen HTC release a device that didn't have a Qualcomm MSM after they dropped the Intel (now Marvell) PXA chip.

actually its qHD the sensation will be pretty similar to the SGS2 from the specs ive been reading. 1.2 dual core, qHD (one step below the retinal screen on the iphone 4).... the HTC screen to me makes up for the slight differences. plus Touchwiz isn't my favorite after my Vibrant experience. Both will be good though.

I tried the vibrant (first time i left htc android phones) and i was extreamly disapointed just because of that i wouldnt :/ but thats just me
I think the difference here would be the updates would be coming from google not samsung, hardware on my old vibrant was awesome, well except the plastic feel, its software that held it back.
Btw love the look and feel of my mt4g better
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I am. I am a Vibrant owner transitioning to MT4G. Transition has not been smooth: Both handsets I have been sent so far have dust under the screen. Plus I really don't like the MT4G screen...
Only thing is the plastic build, why Samsung?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Hell no! Why would I want to leave what I have now for a plastic feeling phone? Plus, if you ask me its a downgrade. No 4G, really? This is where they lost me. Why build what most will look at as a super phone, but leave out the new speeds in 4G? I rather have 4G over gingerbread any day.
biggest deal breaker for me is no HSPA+
Nobody ever said it didn't come with HSPA+. I doubt that it wouldn't if it is to be such a big hit for them. I also came from a Vibrant and like everyone said, the hardware was great but the software and Samsung support wasn't.
I like the mt4G and I'll stick with it until something more revolutionary comes out. The Nexus S just looks like an iphone wannabe to me (in terms of looks). No thanks.
Yeah...don't jump with "No HSPA+ love"
I have to say, this looks promising, and if it has at least the specs of Galaxy S + HSPA+LED Flash+ FF Camera/Video Chat... Aaaand Gingerbread!!! THAT's the killer folks....
SUX PART for me...... my MT4G is coming in mail in the next few days.
I would never give up my MT4G for a Samsung phone even though updates will come from Google I've been burned way to many times by different Samsung phones I've had in the past not gonna take the chance. If it was a HTC that would be a whole different ball game.
If I had know it was coming out soon I would've waited to check it out.

I'm interested, but I really enjoy this myTouch 4G.
I had the Vibrant, and absolutely loved it save for two things: the GPS/Compass problem (which was never fixed), and the lag in the OS. Besides that, I loved the screen and the media playback.
The Nexus S would have to pull some **** to woo me. I'm talking: first-party docks, physical camera button, HSPA+.
Depending on how nice Android 2.3 'Gingerbread' is, I might buy one just to play around with it, before I decide if I'm going to hold onto the myTouch 4G for a while. If T-Mo doesn't plan on updating the firmware, then that may weigh in on my decision. Otherwise, the myTouch 4G is kind of everything I was waiting for, with a little bit of stupid carrier bloat.
I read somewhere that T-Mo stated something along the lines of: '...we're not going to update the firmware unless there's a real reason to', in regards to the myTouch 4G. If that's the case, I may return it.
For now, I just want to enjoy this awesome phone. This is hard, of course, when 4-5 of the nicest phones you've ever seen leaked today. What a crazy day!
If the Nexus S was made by HTC I'd either be be crying my eyes out right now or be racing to the nearest t-mobile store with my MT4G all nicely packed up and ready to go (today is last day of my remorse period). I was a bit reluctant to buy the MT4G because I was really wanting a Nexus 2. Ended up liking the MT4G so much that I was quite content giving up on the Nexus 2, especially since we have perm-root. Now that I know the Nexus S is made by Samsung I couldn't be happier with my decision not to wait around.
Oh and according to the leaked BestBuy documents the Nexus S supports EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900MHz, HSUPA 5.76/7.2 900/1700/2100MHz, HSUPA 5.76/7.2 900/1700/2100. Anything missing?
If this has a non-RFS based filesystem and a working GPS, it could be a nice phone.
However, the new Samsung phone coming in February looks nicer with a larger, s-amoled 2 screen and HSDPA+ but it doesn't seem to have a FFC.
The first thing I noticed was the absence of a track ball/pad. That made cursor navigation VERY frustrating on the Vibrant. Plus, they kept that ity-bity volume rocker. I’ll bet that wee power button is positioned the same too. That made me want to pull my teeth out. I don’t see any REAL evidence of a notification LED, as the proxy/light sensors can be mistaken for just that. I shudder to think it has the same GPS and compass hardware as the Galaxy S line. The leaked spec sheet shows NO HSPA+. Same Vibrant all-plastic body too.
Without more evidence I will assume that the Nexus S is just a Vibrant with a bigger screen, FFC & LED flash. Pretty much what the Vibrant SHOULD have been on release.
Gingerbread? We’ll all have that in time. Especially on current rooted phones. Faster CPU? Doubtful. Who cares, if my above assumptions are even half correct.
Absolutely not what I would expect from something branded as a Nexus. SAMOLED is nice though. MT4G wins in my book.
http://www.tmonews.com/2010/11/nexus-s-specs-leaked/ Nexus S may not has HSPA+
I must say I'm definitely intrigued. I own the MT4G and I'm definitely happy with it but I am curious about the Nexus S mostly because Nexus One was considered such a good phone and I figure follow up to it has to be just as good if not better.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Let's not forget that G2 and MT4G is T-Mo's own branding and marketing so "T-Mobile phone = HSPA+ love"
Why are you guys liking the MT4G when it has dust under the screen? Should just go for the Nexus S

That would only hold true if both phones were made by the same manufacturer. Since the N1 was made by HTC and the Nexus S by Samsung all bets are off. For what it's worth this phone could be called anything. Just because it's called Nexus doesn't mean it'll follow up where the N1 left off.

Mytouch 4G compared to the new CES 2011 "super phones"

So the CES 2011 in Las Vegas just introduced a new array of phones..we see some cool features such as the dual core processors/slimmer design/brilliant display/8MP cameras/1080p..
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Moto Atrix 4G, LG Optimus 2X & Black, HTC EVO Shift, Samsung Infuse..which is tickling your fancy? Having just used the Mytouch 4g for a little over 3 weeks, I'd like to know what you guys think of the new phones compared to the Mytouch..Discuss..
Since we have the second gen snapdragon and more ram i think we will be better off than most of the other 2010 phones, i'm glad i used my dad upgrade for it though because i will be eligible in July.
May I say it might be nice to have a link of this information so we might look.

I've mentioned a while back that the physical aesthetics are extremely similar to iPhone 3Gs, but that's actually not a bad thing, albeit not very original. I will be watching this handset closely and may just have to trade in my MT4G as well. Definitely seems like a very appealing option.

super phones....hmmmm.....impressive hardware but I want to see how they behave in real world scenarios regarding battery life, picture quality, overall quality...why do I need a dual core for running gingerbread....not really sure....hardware impresses first and then you realize if the software on the beast sucks it doesn't help. I have the MT4G and the front facing camera is almost useless because Tango and Qik are lousy programs. The wifi calling is a nice idea but only when the software is great. The MT4G wifi calling software is lousy. So there is much more to do on the software side regarding Android then bringing out every two month faster phones. I don't game on my phone so I am happy for now with my MT4G and wait until there are reall innovations in hardware and software. Faster is no selling point for me....

it can have 40 cores it wont make a difference if its no better than the 20 hours i get out of my mytouch. Agree vid chat is a joke on android right now (granted how often would we really use it if it worked fantastic)
Im sure a year from now ill want a new device but now and until prob the middle of this year the mytouch will be okay. We have moto releasing some devices (we all know their history with rooting) and samsung (lol software updates)
the optimus is cool but its LGs first go into smartphones (let alone cutting edge ones) the jury is still out. See how they handle this device then make a decision

i also agree with this besides the gaming part. i dislike apples product alot but.. their software is awesome compared. lol. we DONT need better phones. we need UPDATED OPEN GL! iphone and wm7 have newest so with our phones with downgraded open gl we wont run programs close as good no matter if we have 100th gen 1ghz processors and they still have 1st.. software upgrades sound amazing, new phones = bleh.
Well initially my plan was to upgrade from my HD2 next end of this year when dual core cell based proc came out on phones. But since I lost it I had no choice to buy MT4G. Guess ill wait once dual core is more mainstream then I mean I been using MT4G for one day now and man o man its super stable and the boot is fast as hell.
If you are trying to be head in the tech world you better have alot of money as you will need it to keep up. Mostly everything gets old in 5-6months. Thats why I picked HD2 still beating down Evo fanboys.

[Q] HTC Inspire 4G vs Samsung Infuse

Please every one bare with me here, the time has come for me to upgrade to a new phone, although i currently own a Dell Streak and its not bad for what i do, i need a smaller phone but that continues to carry a large screen, therefore i have narrowed it down to the inspire and infuse.
i checked youtube for video comparisons, didnt find any, so im posting a thread here hoping to get good answers. I highly doubt someone has both for any reason, but you never know.
should i jump with either of these two or pass and wait a bit longer for something better?
Cheers
Fox
I can only comment on the inspire.
That said this phone is just awesome, I've tried a captivate for a little bit and that wasn't too bad, but no HTC sense. For me sense is where it is at. Also this phone is going to be heavier than the infuse, its metal. It has a very solid feel to it and at this point I wouldn't trade it for any other phone out there.
Also if you like playing with roms there are prolly, not for sure, but most likely more roms for this phone as it has the desire hd in Europe as an almost exact match.
Of course you could wait for the holiday, but that is going to bee several months away.
HTC is better than Samsung when it comes to cell phones in my opinion.

yes i figured i would get more answers leaning towards the HTC since this is a HTC forum, but I would post this on the Infuse forum as well to see... if thats ok with the mods.
I like that you mentioned about the ROMS, ive been looking at both the infuse and HTC inspire, and the HTC has sooo many devs and ROMS, i love it.
coming from a dell streak.. if you go to the Dell Streak forum you will only see one developer, he can only do so much with what he has, and the roms are just too simple for my taste.

You're also going to receive input from people biased against Samsung. There are a lot of former Captivate owners here who have a real problem with Samsung and the way they handled the Captivate issues. I happen to be one of them.
I will never buy another Samsung phone.
A pretty screen does not a reliable phone make.
HTC is a better phone. If the HTC Holiday comes out around December, that's the one to get, assuming they make good on their new bootloader policy and it comes unlocked,if you want to wait that long.
Otherwise, an inspire will keep you happy for a long time, and the dev section here is quite robust, as you can tell.
The screen on the Infuse is BARELY bigger than the Inspire but the phone is MUCH larger. Samsung gave it a lot of useless area at the top.
In the 1, or 2 side by side speed NON-SCIENTIFIC tests that I did, the Infuse had faster data transfer speeds.
If i were you i would wait for the galaxy s2 to come to att or somethin better then that. The inspire is really fast but its kinda getting outdated and the gs2 will last you longer.

Inspire
I would go for Inspire as it has lot of roms. the only downside to it is battery life, but it depends on how u use, there are roms that can improve battery life.
Inspire hands down.. I hate samsung. but thats not the reason..
the infuse is nice. solid body construction.. nice screen.. very thin.. feels nice in hand.. and for me its fast.. and does what i need it to do..
the infuse. not much exp with it outside of messing with a co-workers infuse.. I felt like i could go on a killing spree with that thing. so huge... and felt cheap compared to my inspire..
I have had both and am going back to the inspire with the new Red inspire, the infuse is a ok phone but the big problem was the rooting, the actual rooting was easy but then you had to install a second recovery or e3 recovery in the phone with root explorer and then if you wanted to install a rom you had to use the red recovery instead of the green recovery or you would mess up the phone. Just to many thing to mess with and remember for a simple process. The choice of roms is also worthless and they are not all that great. I would say forget the infuse and get a inspire.
Take it from a former Captivate user. Inspire all the way. I just am not happy with the way Samsung handles issues with phones. Releasing os updates and such. GPS issues on there phones. Froyo took almost a yr to drop to the Captivate. HTC phones on other carriers were getting it much faster.
There is a 50 dollar difference in the price and that 50 bucks is not worth it for just a smidgen better screen. Sense is so much better then touchwiz.
Both communities have good development. I don't think i will be looking at another samsung phone. I'll stay with them for computer lcd's but going to be with htc from here on out.
Got an Infuse the day they came out, Used it for three weeks then traded it in for an Inspire. The 4.5 inch screen was great, since I was used to the big screen of a Streak. downside was weak radios, GSM,Wifi, and 3G. I had no problems with build quality or size. The screen colors were over saturated and sort of cartoonish. My$.02

Yes I did. Edited the post. Had a migraine all day.
i was holding both in my hands, comparing them.
ended up with the inspire.
there was also the $80 difference to consider.
infuse $149 vs. inspire $79 + 15% military discount.
the infuse was jsut too big for my hands,
it felt like a glock double stack 9millimeter made of plastic as comapred the inspire which seems like a 1911 with slim grips all metal feel.

With an upgrade available, the Inspire on AmazonWireless is $0.01 with no (most states) tax. Considering the Infuse is at least $100 everywhere, it became an easy choice for me.

Exactly the same situation here. If Samsungs new device sucks then its definately gotta be the S. Just hoping that the Galaxy's screen isnt as big as the One X's one. It's just too much... :what:

Well, even though it has it critics, and I do go through periods of using AOSP (and prob will on the S once it's available and stable) I still think Sense is the best custom UI on Android. Simple really, SGS3 can't match that element

Supposedly its going to have a 1080p screen, to me this is a bad thing.
1) I bet it is bigger than the ONE S and I wasn't quite happy with the size of the ONE X
2) It takes more horse power to run it, so its processor and graphics may be higher but side by side performance will probably be similar due to it having to push more pixels about the place. Also.. 1080p.. on a phone... What's the F'in point??
First i'm 100% sure that Galaxy S III won't have 2gb of ram neither 1080p screen. Its a next generation and since theres obvious settlement betwen manufacturers you can expect same specs as One X. And i'm also pretty sure that it won't have SD card, every manufacturer stops using them, why should they use them, about removable battery i'm not sure, if new galaxy is gonna be thinner then i guess it will have non removable battery.
I think the S3 will have 4.7 screen, so its big, also display will be as good as X. About other specs - I suspect quad core processor, some good graphic component, rumors about 12mp camera.
But anyway, there are only rumors atm, and Im not fan of S2, so I will go for One S as soon as it avaible here

but on 3rd may we might get some new infos (... no rumours)
however a display bigger than 4,6" is much to big for my taste...
if thats going to happen, i probably will get myself a ONE S
If it takes T-mobile US as long as it did to get the Galaxy S 2....i'm not waiting.
But then again, i don't want to wait. Im tired of Samsung's plastic devices, ugly touch wiz, and international Galaxy S3 will be different from the US Galaxy S3, which will hinder dev support.
Im sure the one s will have great dev support like the sensation. Every one S around the world will be the exact same and will run the same roms.
The only thing i was hating about htc phones was the bad slcd screen, so happy theres amoled now, and i dont care if its pentile.

There is a rumor tht the one x is coming to Tmo with stock ics. I know the gs3 will be beast but I hate touchwiz and love sense. I had a mt4gs and now have a sg2 and touchwiz kills it. There is no stock ics that's working well, and no sense .: /. I want the One s or the One x one tmobile, but would get the gs3 if there is a stock ics rom

Samsung gps
I am ready to upgrade from my Vibrant. I like my Samsung but the GPS is crap. I'm not sure I would trust a Samsung gps. I keep waiting for the gps to run me over a cliff. Is any Samsung gps as good as HTC?
nothing compares to HTC GPS. I can get a lock in under 15 seconds. no tweaks.
i never lose the satellite. Its found me home many times
kinda yes, I really like GS2 and SAMOLED Plus is great. But we still don't know if GS3 will be SAMOLED HD or SAMOLED HD Plus. It's most likely be the same size as One X, packing same or better CPU, probably same or better quality camera, and most likely missing things like notification light and noise canceling mic.
Already got one s and prefer HTC build

Same boat as @tf442. I have a "first month out" Vibrant and GPS has been abysmal from the get-go. I have flashed at least a dozen ROMS (probably more)from Bionix, Trigger all the way to ICS 4.0.4 and they vary, but still no where near other manufacturers GPS. I will not give $$$ to Samsung since they went on the pine in acknowledging any issues with GPS. That, and quit with FROYO. Not good for a top-end phone at the time.
I am eligible for upgrade now, but I don't think I am going to. I might wait out until mid to end-year to upgrade. I am pretty satisfied with my G2 still. Everyone swears it's a great backup phone, but I like it as my main phone all the same.

That won't happen.

Convince me the s4 is better than the One.

I was convinced I was getting the one but after doing some reading I considered maybe getting the s4. So I started reading these forums and been reading a lot about lag so that kind of turned me off a little because the one is supposed to be super smooth. I have been with HTC since the Hero and really like them, but wouldn't mind a change. I'm not trying to start an HTC v. Samsung war just trying to hear from both sides of the fence. Any and all insight will be greatly appreciated. I'm waiting for my local store to get a demo model, so I haven't had any hands on yet.

A lot of the reviews suggest to get the One instead. Get whatever is right for you
The laggyness is probably down to that awful touchwiz launcher. I'm sure Nova will be 100% smooth
I have an HTC One S right now. At least for me, the reason I'm going with the Galaxy Series, and in particular the Galaxy S4 over the One is:
A- Removable battery. I just love the convenience of being able to get a full charge within seconds of just popping out my dead battery and putting in a new one.
B- SD card slot. Until internet infrastructure is at a point where you can get consistently high speeds almost everywhere on any carrier, I don't see cloud technology replacing physical storage. It's fast, it's convenient, and it will hold your content, ready for access, even with no connection at all. Of course I'll use Dropbox, but it's more of a long term storage option.
C- Better hardware in the S4 with regard to the processor/RAM.
D- Cool features like Air View/Dual-Recording/Gestures and so on. Whether you consider them gimmicks or not, at least they can be disabled.
E- MOBEAM! I saw this get mentioned on the Endgadget review, and I really want to use it now. It allows your IR blaster on your phone to work with counter top scanners/hand held IR scanners to easily pay for stuff. It also scans coupons/gift cards and saves them.
F- I prefer the Galaxy S4 camera. Seems to be the best when all conditions are considered, although it suffers against the One in low light.
G- I love the saturation and movie watching on AMOLED. It's not for everyone, but it's cool for me. The bigger screen is a plus as well.
Ultimately you should get what feels best for you. I'm moving off HTC and towards the GS4 because it seems better for me. I did also hear of the lag issues in some places, but nothing 3rd party devs/firmware fixes can't handle.
Only reason I needed.

I was having the same dilemma but ended up ordering the GS4 . At the end of the day it does more of the things I care about than the HTC One does.
I think playing with each one before you buy will really help you make up your mind. Things like ergonomics, build quality, screen quality, and software are hard/impossible to experience through a YouTube video.
The One is certainly a well built, attractive device that will probably elicit more "ooos" and aahs" from your friends. I really love the look of the One and the speakers sound fantastic. Sense 5 is very attractive and fluid but has some quirks that would really annoy me on a daily basis.
I chose the GS4 because of the larger screen, microSD card slot, removable battery, slightly stronger vibration (sounds silly but my phone lives on vibrate), as well as some thoughtful software features such as notification toggles and a Wi-Fi based lockscreen.
Those are the things I care about most. Will a small part of me will wonder what the HTC One would have been like, of course! But you need to know what your needs/wants are and see which phone fulfills them best.
Only reason I needed.

Sorry, all the good ones have been taken. But really, if you're needing us to convince you to buy the S4, your heart is probably already set on the HTC One. Unless you've gone and posted a "Convince me the One is better than the s4" thread on the One board. In that case, well played.

better hardware, more stuff, bigger display, sd card.
The only edge the htc one has are those front facing speakers. Not an issue for me.
External sd card. Removable battery
Features you WILL use at some point:
Answer a call by waving your hand in front of the phone.
Airview on some stock apps (I wont be using the default browser but other apps work with airview)
Smartstay to keep the screen on when you are looking at the phone.
Also check out the video quality comparisons the video is great for both but the s4's audio quality is superb. Like 10 times as good.
Also it has a larger screen, and larger battery while also being lighter
If you have to question it after that then get the htc one , its better than apple at least.

That's not our responsibility. Use your resources (the same ones you used to find XDA or anything else on the web), rather than posting a thread that comes off as flame-baiting.
This thread should be put out of its misery.

New update about 288mb sent out that quashed the laggy UI, now S4 is very smooth, i guess first firmware was buggy. Go try it, i hope you get to play with an updated version, if its laggy, go to settings and check software update.
Might be friendlier on the One forums...
Convince yourself to buy an s4. Its not like anybody here actually cares if get one or not anyways...do get one...don't get one. Whatever.
