[Q] viewing .swf files on TF101 Transformer (Android 3.1) - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just received my new Asus Eee Pad Transformer. I work in the advertising world that has me view images and flash files (i.e. .swf). I have .swf files that I can view on my computer but I get a "Open File Failed" when ever I try on the Transformer. So how can I view a .swf on this tablet?
I have the latest firmware and flash 10.3 installed on the computer. Am I missing something?

Are you sure you have Android 3.1?
As for SWF, you need one of these: https://market.android.com/search?q=swf&so=1&c=apps

Whoops... I meant 3.0.1
Thanks for the advise. Smart Flash Player at least tried to open it. Unfortunately my screen is no longer responding so I have a much bigger problem... *grumble* *grumble*

Try typing the path to the swf in the browser.

isnt there a dwg viewer in the marketplace?
i thought i saw it..free 2

Does anyone know if it's possible to play a CBeebies swf (e.g. alphablocks.swf) using one of the players?
...Sorry, too much of a newbie to link directly - I mean

[Q] Is there any way to configure Android to recognize swf files?

Hello, I have a Motorola Droid running Froyo Cyanogen 6 RC3, and I was wondering how you could open swf files with flash player installed. I did some googling, and found that you just have to input file://sdcard/whateverfileyouwanttoopen.swf into the browser. Now, I want to know if it's possible to add swf to the list of file types and have it configured so that if for example I go into Astro and open an swf, it will automatically direct my browser to the swf file.
Does anyone know how I would go about doing this?

[Q] Content not supported on Galaxy Tab???

I am trying to figure out how to install reader's hub ( i have asked several questions, but I can't get anyone to help me). I have a US Sprint Tab. Each time I try to download the files, they download unsucessfully, and give me the error message "content not supported". This seems to only be true for rar files, as I have downloaded the readers hub zip file just fine. I currently have apk installer, Explorer, and Andro zip installed. Can someone please help me???
Hi,
As far as im aware even though androzip supports the rar files, it does not associate itself with the samsung tab explorers launcher for that file type.
If you extract this in the androzip itself and then browse to the contents you extracted that should work that way.
Wish you luck, let us know how you get on

Thanks for your reply. I would love to try thatm, but the tab wont even let me download the file. The thing is, I already have the files I need to get the readers hub, but I can't get it to install. Well, I can install the press Display and the Kobo, but the readers hub wont install. And although the Press Display and Kobo say they are installed, I don't see them anywhere on my tab.
Ahh OK, sorry to have misread the problem ...Have you access to a PC? as you could download and send. ...if not link me up ill download and make it a zip for you (my racing team dr-ukr has a server i can upload to for storage).
Alternatively try another browser, i've not yet tried the others but mayb it's jsut the Samsung modded browser that cannot support the download?
Ill post back if i get to test that first in Dolphin HD/Opera/Fennec beta etc..

Do I have to root my tab in order to install readers hub? Now I'm reading the rooting app has been removed, so rooting may not be possible.
Sorry i do not know about rooting, i am still on stock firmware and not wanting to blow my warranty yet. (allthough it will happen in the end) ... i have my nokia n900 for all the playing about for now (i'm confident with it and the tab is my first android).
Wish you luck and pretty sure the others here will help out

I was having the same problem. I tried opera browser and it let me download the files. The stock browser is junk.
Go to market and download "Download all Files", works perfect on GT.

I can see it there for win 7 64bit. Didnt check other formats.
Weird I just refreshed the page and it disappeared. Now it's showing up under Win 7.
I've attached the file for you to this post. It should just download the files you need using this tool from Asus.
don't know why i couldn't connect to the Asus server...

Files downloaded in .bin format

When I attempt to download an .mp3, . PDF, .doc (pretty any file) in chrome browser or Android Browser they download in .bin format. The weird thing those is they will still open in the correct program (PDF opens in reader, mp3 opens in music app, etc).
Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

Yes I am having the same thing, but im running a transformer pad tf300t. I find sometimes it works by long pressing and saying save link as, but other times not. Any help would be appreciated
What are the sizes of the files you've downloaded? If they are the actual files, just with a wrong extension, you could always rename the extension in a file browser and check. As far as the reason, ..not much help there.

try downloading it with Chrome browser,
I had the same problem downloading .nzb files with the stock browser, with chrome it was ok
All you have to do is rename it from bin to whatever it is you downloaded. Example, downloaded an mp3 but the file is in .bin, just rename it to (song name).mp3
When I attempt to download an PDF or doc file from any facebook page they are being download in .bin format. The weird thing is that if i try to rename the file name to pdf or doc while downloading it is not helping at all. Any kind of help is appreciated
I have this issue in miui 12 in chrome...not sure what's wrong
