My wife and I both have an Inspire 4G. Both on the same contract and both on the same version of ROM and software. Now here's the thing, she recieved the "sideload" update on her phone but I haven't...WTF? how is AT&T rolling out this update?
I never even received a "push" notificiation of the OTA Update (1.84.502.11). I ended up just grabbing the update via my city's free WiFi this morning.
No word yet on the AT&T "sideload" update. I'm not overly concerned, since the Wonder Machine installs my free Amazon Apps without a hitch.
I been on that version for a while and sitll don't have the sideload option.
I just got off the phone with AT&T about the "Allow Unknown Sources" being on my wife’s phone but not mine. Apparently they are having issues internally with pushing out this update. They are working on the problem and those who have not received the update will....eventually.

Hope its not a re-post, but I got a "Update to RC30" message on my phone today. I guess its not just being sent out by T-mobile now...
It has nothing to do with T-Mobile. The updates come from Google's servers.

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I do know the phone connects to a server at google. I suspect that's how they push the update. If so, then it's actually google pushing them out, regardless of what carrier you are using.
There are a couple threads that talk about this. Google is the one with the updates... and I wouldn't say they are pushed as much as pulled. Since the G1 sends out a heartbeat to a google server and the server tells the phone if the update is available or not.
I got this OTA message when I was not having SIM card in G1, I was connected to WiFi, though I accidently accepted it and now no root access, this means google is pushing the update rather than T-Mobile.

My phone pop up this message yesterday, and I hit accept... now my phone always says No Service... coincidence or freaking google?
Hi guys running all stock on my s3 and since I've had the phone (2 months) I've never had an OTA pushed to my handset??? I know there have been several because my GF is getting hers. Were both on the same UK network too. Anyone else have this problem? I don't want to have to rely on crappy kies every-time I contacted samsung who said to do a factory reset of my phone WTF? Done it and suprise suprise 'no update available' yet i'm still on june 11th software.
Got a buddies stock GS3 from VZW, never rooted. About a week ago it showed "roaming" and is still stuck in roaming mode. He can call out and data works fine. He just took the OTA update that was released today or yesterday. Still stuck in roaming.
Aside from doing a factory reset, what suggestions can I get to check for?
Note: He went to a VZW store and was told it's a problem with Samsungs SW and several other ppl have come in a complained. He was told to give a couple of days until Samsung releases a sw update. Last time I checked all updates are through VZW.
Thanks for the help
Nothing?
So I have a unlocked Verizon S6 that running on Straight Talk service and am having issues receiving updates. My current build number is MMB29K.G920VVRU4CPD2 and I am not getting any updates that others have been getting like the security patches and such, and I'm wondering if this is because I'm not running on Verizon servers or not running on a Verizion SIM. I really want to fix this soon since I want to get the Android N update which is rolling out soon.
Hi! We purchased a sealed (unlocked, we think) Galaxy S7 (G930A) online, and are using it in Canada with the Bell Mobility network (using a Bell SIM card). The connection works, but, we noticed two things:
1) The signal sometimes cuts out, as it drops off the network, and we need to power off and power on the device, and
2) The current version of Android software is 6.0, and when we try to do the Software Update, it says there are no updates available.
I have heard that because we are not connected to the AT&T network here in Toronto, it won't send the OTA update. Does anyone know a way around this? I am not against using Odin software and trying to manually install the new software, but, that would be our least preferred option.
I have tried purchasing an AT&T prepaid sim card (did not load any value on it), and it still says no update available. We jhave tried using the Smart Switch software, but it says no updates available.
If anyone else has gone through this situation before, we would love to hear your story. Any help on how to get the software update would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
