I have a question, why is it that the only way to return to an app suspended state is via the multitasking card view? I mean, it should be like ios that whenever an app is in memory, if you open that app i will take you to the saved state.
Currently if i exit an app via the windows key, then try to reopen said app from the app list it will open like it was the first time...

Yes,this is a design inconsistency.I have mentioned in another thread...if you use windows button to exit an app, then the next time you open it,you will need to relaunh the app again. Unless, you long pres back button in order to let the app go into multitask mode. Then you only press windows button. If not, the system won't memorize the app. Windows button is simply cancel everything off.
This situation same goes to the live tiles, if you use windows button to exit an app,the live tiles will never update. However, if you use back button, the live tiles will be updated, you can try this by using network dashboard or any live tiles apps.
Please fix the Windows/home button command and functionality,it is just a shame....
To me it seems like the multi-task is more of a recent memory than a multi-task. For example, if i'm in a game of angry birds, regardless of what way i use to get back to the home page, when I get back into the game via the multi-task menu.. it relaunches the app and puts me at the home page.
what gives?

I have no idea with angry birds, but other games yes...even if you long press the back button,it will just relaunch the game, maybe they haven't update the app to mango compatible.
However, IMHO, Microsoft really have to fix the windows/home button command ot functionality,to make it adapt to the fast app switching,multitask/resume and the live tiles.
Yes... Angry birds has not been updated...
And it just seems weird to me that an app thats saved in memory have to start again... I would think its not that hard to fix this....
Ok.. update on my own thoughts. Maybe I'm thinking of something different than you guys, but here's what I found.
I remembered the game 'Penguins' updated right after mango. I tried this out with that game. In the middle of a game, I can pause, hit the windows button, do whatever I want on the phone, then using the multitask menu go back into the game, and I'm back in the game at the pause screen. Alternatively, I can hit the windows button without even pausing it, and I can later resume the game. It appears there's no issue with the software, it's just a matter of how the programmers write the apps. Again, I could be missing the idea here, but I think this is what you guys were talking about
I find holding the back button to he much more efficient than going to the home screen into a grid of icons to find and launch the app again. another ridiculous multitasking complaint brought to u by yours truly.

Whats wrong with you, buddy? please edit your post, ridiculous complaint???OP never complaints about anything,it is clearly a question and a discussion here.
Furthermore,in regard to the ways you provided is not a good way in some manners. For example, if I'm checking my tweets and then i press home button and go out, make some calls texts and calendar. Then,i think it better for me to go back the app by access it from the app list or tiles. Therefore, back button is simply useless in this case.
You shouldn't be surprised. That's just eric12341 using a fake name to try to sneak around his account suspension.

check tweets from the Me tile, it's really fast. its impossible for an app to remember the last state it was in unless u have a bg agent. its not that hard to use the back button. first people complain /criticize for no multitasking now there's complain/criticize over how its implemented. get a grip.
I agree with the OP. It sucks so bad. I'm no troll, but it takes me much longer to hold the back button and find the instance instead just press windows and first tile.
I'm not even mentioning the problems I'm having with my keyboard auto hiding while i'm typing, and the problem with auto correction in third party apps. Whenever I have an special character, it doesnt overwrite the whole word to correct it. "blahblaƧ" turns into "blahblaƧblahblah". Genious.
Oh, and yeah, you cant use toast notifications! If you use it to redirect to your whatsapp message, it will reload the whole app instead resuming it.
Whats the point of implementing multitasking and turning it so ****ing difficult to use?
Whatsapp toast notification reloading the whole app is true. And it makes no sense to me.
BTW i love wp7, so im not hating at all... Its just that this problem seems soo easy to fix, its just silly.

Guess we are alone with this. No one seems to care about how MS implemented it. As long they can use it somehow.
I have an acer Iconia with Honeycomb, I was wondering if there was a way to improve the performance of the facebook games, they are unplayable , the one I mostly tested it on is Ravenwood fair. I know its not a hardware problem because it actually plays other games that arent facebook apps pretty well.

right click inside game app and flash setting should come up. there change permission to use mx offline cache. this will increase performance drastically. let me know if this helps.
how do you right click?
I found flash settings manager, but it keeps reverting to the mobile manager, which has very little options

It must be detecting the browser as a mobile app. Try the following. Intructions are for the default web browser.
1.Download and install Flash 10.1 from market (skip if already installed)
2.Open your browser, go to facebook.
3.type into the browser about:debug and press go. The browser will go right back to the same screen you were on previously and it appears that nothing happens.
4.Press your menu button(bottom left physical button)
5.Press "MORE"
6.Scroll down to "Settings"
7.Scroll all the way down to the bottom where you see "UA STRING"
8Choose "Desktop" This will "trick" websites into thinking you are logging in from a PC computer and not a Droid.
9.Hit back until you are on the facebook page again.
10. Refresh your browser and launch Farmville!!!
After completing the above steps you should be able to get the regular settings manager for flash. Enjoy!
Enjoy
ua string is desktop, the regular manager flashes up for a second and then it goes back to mobile.
since i never could get the regular settings manager to stay up. I brought it up on my computer, I do not see a mx offline cache setting.

try a different browser. clicky here: Boat Browser
naw still waiting on chrome to be released, they said we would get a soon ... a month ago. i doubt switching browsers will work . anyway once I finally get it working the game apps will probably move to html 5 lol. I have been trying all sorts of things to try to get them to work since I got this tab in may.
Does anyone have a clue what omnichron is talking about. Permission set mx offline cache , ha google comes up with this thread. He is smart enogh to get it working but cant tell anyone the proper steps......or he is just trolling
is this still a no go with ICS? heck about all I wanted to do with the tablet was play facebook games and read forums, at least I can read forums on it.
im on android revolution 2.3.0
1. The URL bar does not work for searching, even if I press the search button on the right first. After I press enter nothing happens. For example I press the search button and type "xda transformer" and press enter. Nothing happens. I am forced to go to google.com and search on the site itself
2. Occasionally the browser closes with no force close message and all my tabs are gone.
3. Is there a way to increase the maximum number of tabs allowed?
4. Not just but any android device I have used and any browser I have used (like dolphin) is an issue where if I click a link that first goes to an advertising site and then redirects to the main link, it says page cannot be displayed on the ad site. For example I get emails from 1saleaday.com which when you click the link goes to an ad site that then is supposed to redirect, but I get page cannot be displayed. This happens on any browser I use and also on my thunderbolt.
Well I fixed the search problem by turning off instant results in the options. No one has any idea on the other three?
Another problem with both dolphin and stock browser is many times you have to press the back button multiple times in order to go back one page.
2. It's a fault of your rom. Revolver has better memory limits. Install auto memory killer from the market and set to optimal.
3. No idea. What is the maximum?
4. Your rom has set ad booking too aggressive. Install adaway from the market and only enable the bottom of the 3 sources.
Revolver rom would solve most of your problems too.
I would like to know if browser web pages can be cached some kind of way so they don't reload every time you press the back button. It sucks up so much data for no reason. Also I would like to know if there is a way to make the keyboard spell out I'll automatically rather than spelling ill every time. Are these problems able to be fixed in settings or does the rom have to made that way?

Well, give the mediocre RAM on our phones, I doubt that caching is possible.
Also, caching would still cause a delay because of the need to seek & fetch.
I think you added ill to the personal dictionary because I'll comes up automatically for me.. Have the spell check option enabled too (In settings).
Thanks for the reply but no ill is not in my personal dictionary. And opera mobile and other browsers cache web pages. I think the stock browser works good so I would like to use it over any other one.

I also told you to turn on spell check. This will fix the problem with 'ill'.

hi, i dont know if other know his or not, but here is an method to check what sites are being regularly visited on chrome browser, even if someone has deleted the history and cleared cookies, so let go through the thread and check your self.
chrome is having some inbuilt module which are not of any use of general user and they really dont know this, so you may use these exploit or module to check what your kid/bf/gf are visiting even their browser history is clean.
1. chrome://predictors/ copy pest in chrome, will show the frequent keywords used to open a site
2- chrome://dns/ will simply list the site opened on system
3. chrome://cache/ will open the internal pages that were open
try yourself and let me know if these works for you. have a safe browsing
Curious, does this also list Private Browsing items?
(Just so we know what else to wipe when using 9gag at work.)
These aren't exploits, and can all be cleared through the browser's options (Ctrl + Shift + Del).
The only one that isn't cleared from that control panel is the predictors, but that's not a type of history at all.

Well, that's not strictly true but almost. It does store the browser history "stack", but only in the browser memory so you can click the back button. Once you close the window it's gone, and it's not accessible on your HD anywhere during or after. It's also more "incognito" than the regular browser history, as you can't go forward - only back.

The 2nd doesn't work. It just shows "DNS pre-resolution and TCP pre-connection is disabled".
