I have an acer Iconia with Honeycomb, I was wondering if there was a way to improve the performance of the facebook games, they are unplayable , the one I mostly tested it on is Ravenwood fair. I know its not a hardware problem because it actually plays other games that arent facebook apps pretty well.

right click inside game app and flash setting should come up. there change permission to use mx offline cache. this will increase performance drastically. let me know if this helps.
how do you right click?
I found flash settings manager, but it keeps reverting to the mobile manager, which has very little options

It must be detecting the browser as a mobile app. Try the following. Intructions are for the default web browser.
1.Download and install Flash 10.1 from market (skip if already installed)
2.Open your browser, go to facebook.
3.type into the browser about:debug and press go. The browser will go right back to the same screen you were on previously and it appears that nothing happens.
4.Press your menu button(bottom left physical button)
5.Press "MORE"
6.Scroll down to "Settings"
7.Scroll all the way down to the bottom where you see "UA STRING"
8Choose "Desktop" This will "trick" websites into thinking you are logging in from a PC computer and not a Droid.
9.Hit back until you are on the facebook page again.
10. Refresh your browser and launch Farmville!!!
After completing the above steps you should be able to get the regular settings manager for flash. Enjoy!
Enjoy
ua string is desktop, the regular manager flashes up for a second and then it goes back to mobile.
since i never could get the regular settings manager to stay up. I brought it up on my computer, I do not see a mx offline cache setting.

I have been trying all sorts of things to try to get them to work since I got this tab in may.
Does anyone have a clue what omnichron is talking about. Permission set mx offline cache , ha google comes up with this thread. He is smart enogh to get it working but cant tell anyone the proper steps......or he is just trolling
is this still a no go with ICS? heck about all I wanted to do with the tablet was play facebook games and read forums, at least I can read forums on it.

i love this forum. just followed the direction and got it to work on the first time. thanks to the people that actually figured this out. here's how i did it
first download the modified flash player apk. i got it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9502517&postcount=3
remove any other flash player that you have and intall this one. maybe reboot in between to be safe.
also, get dolphin browser from market.
next just follow these directions i got from another thread. i modified it a little since the flash apk is already modified
The trick for getting Hulu working is to do these things:
1) Use Either Dolphin Browser or SkyFire
2) In the browser, Settings...set User Agent to "Desktop"
3) In Advanced Settings set Plugins to "Always On"(Default is "on demand"))
4) Install the Adobe flash player from link above
5) Install AdFree from the marketplace
6) Start AdFree, it will want to create the Host file. If it exists when you run it, it will hang and not complete the installation.
7) When AdFree comes up there is an option to "Revert" click this button to allow ads, Hulu needs this to work.
8) Reboot to clear the host cache.
9) Turn back on AdFree Host file restrictions if you like after you're done with the Hulu Goodness! Enjoy!
i went to hulu and it works great. i haven't had any issues so far. watched a whole episode of Simpsons to test it out.
just tried the stock browser and it worked also. so i guess you don't need dolphin to do watch hulu now. i think the modified flash apk is what did the trick. i did change the setting in the stock browser same as in the dolphin.
This works with beta4 and stock browser.
ETA scratch that just forces my tablet to reboot just after the commercial finishes.

with this hack, hulu is free.
one thing i had happen. when i was watching hulu on the stock browser, somewhere near the middle, the browser forced closed. after that, i couldn't get the stock browser to load up after that or the dolphin either. i turned the tab off, and when i tried to start it up, it went into a reboot loop. not sure it that's related to the rom or what i did to get hulu to work. i just reloaded everything and will try it again. will keep people posted.
Will this only work with VEGAn or can this be used with stock firmware also?
well, after i reset everything, i tried first watching a full episode of Seinfeld on dophin browser and it worked fine. then, i watched a full episode again with stock browser. it worked fine too. i guess the crash i had wasn't related to the hulu fix.
noticed something interesting. when i go to google.com, there's a little link to download the chrome browser. when i clicked on it, it gave me the download page but for mac 0S X 10.5 or later, Intel Only.

It works on the stock firmware, but you have to root your tablet first to use Adfree.
Works good, but breaks Market
I tried this and it worked great. Watched an episode of Family Guy. Then I tried the Market app and all the apps were gone. I the reapplied the Market fix and all is well. Thanks for the tip!
I had my fingers crossed that this would make Fancast.com (aka xfinity.com/tv) work, but it still seems to hang on the commercials for shows from any network other than CBS. Hopefully the Xfinity On Demand Android app will show up in January, as has been rumored.
not working
Don't know what I did wrong, but I followed the instructions in the first post. I get all the way to loading an episode when it tells me my device is not supported. Help.

I am having the same thing as the previous user, I am on Vegan beta 4, using dolphin HD and the flash player from the first post, and I had set my agent to Desktop. I do have the dolphin plugin desktop viewer (can't remember the exact name off the top of my head) but I did manually set the Agent to desktop, still get the device is not supported message.
That flash player actually fixed an issue i was having with the browser closing when trying to play a flash file.

I just got my gtab yesterday. Changed some stuff today. rooted, installed tnt lite, titanium backup, dolphin browser. Yet I cannot get any web-based tv to work. I like to watch stuff on megavideo or wisevid, but neither one wants to work. I get about a half second of sound on megavideo before it totally boots me from the browser.
I get "Data connectivity problem: The connection to the server was unsuccessful." just trying to load the megavideo page, not even the video yet.
I hit "Okay" and the page still displays. I press the play button and half a second of sound later... I'm booted.
What can I do?
Thanks!

Using a browser. am off to try the lite version of that app, but the main reason I use browser is there are more accessible shows on the internet than most apps will have. I like british tv and lots of odd sci-fi type stuff.
okay, just tried the tv app and got booted back to the app every time I tried to view an episode. I'm guessing it's something to do with my flash version. How do I find out what I have vs what I need? I could not find the link in the app forum. please help.
have you tried this application? it's still a beta, but it should be working fine, NO FLASH REQUIRED!

Okay, I've been running TNT Lite 2.0 for awhile, and since it was snappy and stable and did most of what I wanted, I just left it there.
Man. I just updated to TNT Lite 4.20, and things are MUCH nicer! Voice search on Google, better video playback, more options, and FINALLY ... FULL access to the Market.
Still no Hulu or other TV-type support (bummer), and the maps are kinda cranky, etc., but this is a nice step forward.
BTW, I didn't wipe my data and still everything seems hunky-dory. Hope that doesn't bite me in the butt at some point!
In the meantime, I'm happy.

Get the fixed flash 10.3 from the apps and themes thread and you will have your hulu sir ;-)
Edit: saved you the trouble of looking
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077914
Thanks! I actually tried that before I flashed 4.20, and it didn't work ... still said I needed Flash 10,0.32 or some such.
I'll try it again and see if TNT Lite 4.20 makes a difference.
.
.
Well, I installed the new and improved Flash player and still nothing. I get one of three things:
- A message saying Ishould subscribe to Hulu Plus (or something like that),
- A message saying the video isn't available "on this iPad" (how dare they!)
- A message saying the webpage isn't available.
In any case, it's clear they ain't gonna let me see their stuff!
.
.
What browser? The only one I know of that works 100% is dolphin 4.5+. You have to go into settings and tell it to present itself as a PC. It said ipad because whatever browser you are using is set to mock an ipad signature.
Double check also on your browser settings that plugins are set to always on under advanced settings in Dolphin.

you need to update your 'useragent' to desktop, you may need to use a different browser to simplify that. DolphinHD makes it pretty easy to do in the settings.

Nope - tried that. I'm assuming you mean the option to view as desktop vs. as a tablet.
Didn't make any difference.

This is a link to the newest dolphin browser apk. Give it a shot. In the first use of this it will run you through an enitial setup. Select user agent desktop and select plugins always on. Just flashed clemyson+calkilins combo (very similar to tnt 4+) without adding any other apks except fixed flash 10.3 and dolphin from this link and this fix worked fine. Hope this solves it for you.
Thanks for the tips. I'll give Dolphin a try in a few days when I get some free air. Maybe that will take care of it.

Am i the only one here suffer from checker box browsing issue? For those who don't know what it is. Is when you load a webpage they load box by box as you scroll down. Was there some setting i miss? I tried factory reset and it still doesn't solve anything. This really bug me because knowing that the TF is quite powerful in it's own way. But when using the stock browser it made it feel really cheap. Opera mobile on the other hand is way faster when rendering webpage. But since i have all my bookmark synced in the stock browser that made it my preferred browser. Just wondering if anyone else have this issue as well.
I have the same issue. I turned off opengl rendering and it fixed it, but scrolling is much less smooth.
I have the same issue, after receiving the Android 3.2 update. 3.1 was better for me. It has stated that 3.2 was suppose to fix this white box loading problem, but it caused me the problem instead. So I'm hoping the next update will fix it soon in the coming days for the U.S. on 8/23/11. 3.2 is such a buggy release.
As for how to disable OpenGL rendering? I don't think there is such option under any factory setting? Are you rooted legoman666?
to disable opengl you have to type about:config in the browser URL. Nothing will show up on the webpage. But just go back to your browser setting and the debug option is listed there. Yeah i really hope they fix this issue soon. I don't even feel like using the TF anymore because of this.

I believe I followed the instructions correctly. But I do not see the OpenGL option listed, nor a debug option within Settings on the stock browser.
lol my bad i mean type about:debug then go to setting. You should see the debug option. Sorry been using a couples other browser and got the command mixed up. Disabling openGL will cause some issue when loading webpage with flash.
this is such a huge annoyance I wonder why you don't see more complaints? Its buggingthe hell out of me!
I use Opera Browser and get nearly zero blockiness, however it is about time Asus got off their ass and fixed this issue once and for all!
Does opera work with flash?
And yes Asus needs to address this issue big time since most users are on the web 90% of the time!

Yes flash works fine on Opera.
yeah i'm no longer using the stock browser. Switched to opera and so much faster. Just wish mouse scrolling work with it hehe. I can't believe we need to rely on third party software to enjoy web surfing. I thought tablet are meant for web surfing. Surely this is not the case with the TF stock browser.
Lets just admit the TF is a pretty good device. Except for the stock browser. The longer I use it the more I hate it. I honestly don't know why I keep using it other than it's familiar. Maybe if someone just removed it from the rom I would be forced to use something else
I agree. The device itself is awsome. I love playing old school emulator games using my ps3 controller. But when i want to surf the web. I tend to move to my desktop for that job. Hell even my samsung galaxy s does a better job. That's how much the stock browser had turned me off and not to mention when i want to post here. The keyboard lag is ridiculous. Can't surf and can't type. Definitely a pretty damn let down for a dual core device.
i sent a complaint to Asus. Lets see if we get a responce!

Choppy browser
Ok so from what I read the checker box browsing, slow keyboard typing and all are not exclusive to my device. I got my TF a week back and I tried different browsers (Stock, Dolphin, Opera) and on different roms (Prime and Revolver) and all were choppy like hell.
it was worst in case of facebook and endgadget pages which are quite long pages and what I saw was plain dissapointing, slow, checker boxes and the fact that it keep loading the whole page if I scroll up and down or zoom in and out!
Edit: ok so idid the "open gl rendering" uncheck and now the stock browser doesnt do checker box and its quite ok,could be smoother but its wayyyy better than before!

i can play other game, but 90% zynga games dont work like farmville 2
Ah I see Zynga released Farmville 2.
I thought the problem was with old FV.
Let me mess with it using Dolphin Jetpack.
I'll report back...
I tried 2 different ways to launch FV2,
1. when i play FV2 thu facebook, the browser will close automatically by itself
2. when i play it thu zynga offical website, FV2 will stick on the loading screen
Me wife is heavy into Farm-ville...
She was telling me it's 3D and a little intensive.
Still not sure why it's a little stubborn.
I wonder if the new FV2 is html5 enabled.
I know the latest version of Dolphin touts HTML5 compatibility.
I'll keep fiddling with it...
Edit:
I was wondering if you might be able to open the stock browser and type about:debug in the URL search bar.
Then open the browser settings look for "debug" options (bottom) go to the UA String option and choose the desktop setting there.
Doing that is supposed to trick any server into thinking you're browsing from a desktop...I think.
Worth a shot anyhow...

anyone know how to solve it??
anyone know how to solve it??
So, no one has been able to get this to work?
I'm a hardcore FV2 player as well, it would be nice to be able to play this on this tablet.
I know this is not an answer, but this is a tablet, not a laptop. Each has different things that it can run and cannot. I am guessing newer FB games require more then simple flash and javascript. If you were wanting something to run FB games, a laptop would be the best choice. Like I said before, it is not a computer, it is a tablet, and FB games are meant to run on computers, not tablets.
