I am trying to connect using PPTP but I keep getting "Server hung up". Has anyone been able to connect using PPTP? Is there a fix out there to help me connect?
Thanks.
Phone not talking to server
I talked to the IT department and they said that I was connected but the phone does not seem to respond to the server. The server then disconnects after a number of tries to "talk" to the phone and receives no responses.

Hi,
I've been trying to connect my Desire Z to a VPN that's setup on Windows Server 2003. I've installed the user/CA certificates in my phone, and setup the L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN on the phone. However, when I try to connect, it fails. PSK mode works, and the VPN server is fine since I'm able to connect via a Windows 7 PC. However, when I try to connect to it with my phone, it fails. Using Wireshark, I'm discovering that the failure happens during the key exchange portion. The server requests my phone for the certificate, and doesn't receive anything in return.
Does Android have any specific VPN configurations that I need to set? Also, is there way I can access any logs that say why the server certificate request isn't responded to?
Thanks.
Anyone ?
Asking for some help before I throw my phone out my window. I can't seem to get my SGSII Skyrocket to connect to my VPN which is running on a mac mini server. I have L2TP over IPSec setup which I know works due to that fact that I can connect to it using my iPhone 4 and macbook pro. Unfortunately, I cannot get my Android to connect. All I get is "unable to connect to the network" on the phone itself. When I look at the logs on my server though, it doesn't appear that my phone even tries to establish a connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It seems that ever since the 4.0.4 update, my Nexus S cannot connect to my university VPN, flashing an overly broad "Unsuccesful" message whenever I try. The message comes to quickly after initiation to be a username/password problem, and my laptop with Win7 can connect to the same network with the same parameters.
Has anyone else experienced issues when connecting to VPNs?
I've got a PPTP VPN set up on my home router that works fine for my Samsung Note 2 phone (4.1.1). I can connect, browse the network at home, and access files etc.
When I set up the client on my tf300(cm 10.1/android 4.2), I can connect to the VPN, but I cannot browse the network at home, and it disconnects from the pptp VPN server within a few minutes. The server side shows a connection for about 45 seconds, then shows no connection from the tf300, but the client device, the tf300, shows that it is still connected.
I thought it might be a ROM issue, so I I tried loading the new PA ROM, but I still experience the same issue.
On the router side, I'm using tomatousb's build in PPTP VPN server.

Hello I have the Pixel. My company makes a Video Chat app which uses a SIP Server for video calling. When I try to connect to the SIP Server, I am unable to connect (it just times out). This is if I am connected to WiFi. If I turn WiFi off and am connected to LTE, then I can connect to the SIP Server no problem. I tried other devices at my office on the same WiFi and they all work fine when connected to WiFi or LTE. I then tried two other WiFi networks and have the same issue (cannot connect to SIP Server). I then downloaded a different VoIP app (Bria) and put my SIP info in. Same problem. On WiFi i cannot connect, but on LTE it works fine. My LTE is Verizon, so I tried connecting via a Verizon Hotspot. My phone is connecting to that via WiFi, and I still have the same issue, cannot connect to SIP Server. I even tried a couple of different SIP accounts as well and none of it helps. If this phone is connected to WiFi, it CANNOT connect to a SIP Server. I also have a co-worker with a Nexus 6P who has the Android 7.1 Developer Preview, and his phone connects to the SIP server fine on WiFi. So it does not seem to be an Android 7.1 issue. It seems to be related to the Pixel phone itself. Has anyone else been able to setup a VoIP app where you need to connect to a SIP Server and successfully been able to connect to the SIP server when on WiFi?
My phone got the November security update today. And after restarting, SIP calling now works for me in WiFi! Mine is build NDE63X. If you haven't gotten it yet, I suggest giving it a try. You can side load the update via adb.

I spoke too soon on this one. After working for about a day and a half, it stopped connecting to SIP servers when on WiFi. I rebooted my phone though and it started working again. So something triggers it to stop connecting to SIP servers when on wifi but a reboot does make it work again.
I have pixel and Bria. If I restart the phone Bria connects on wifi every time. If I stop then start Bria without phone restart Bria will not connect ever.
Here are a bunch of other links related to this problem. And it's still not fixed as of March security update from yesterday.
