Hi, it is somewhat documented that some WM/CE platforms include a version of wceload.exe, which 1. Refuses to recognize any signed CAB file as being a valid CAB file and/or 2. Refuses to recognize any compressed CAB file as being a valid CAB file.
"Officially" both problems occur on CE 4.x and older, but not in the SP=SmartPhone editions of CE 4.x. However I have just spent a few hours testing that at least one CE 6.0 device I use for testing seems to have those same bugs even though the problems were supposed to be fixed in CE 5.0 and later (as you already know WM6.x runs on CE 5.x, not CE 6.x).
So does anyone here know if this is a freak device / badly cooked flash, or if those old wceload.exe bugs really do persist in non-WM CE devices despite the MS announcement that they had merged the fixed wceload.exe code back into the CE 5.x and later source trees?

Anyone have any luck running the upgrade rom utility with ms vista beta ?
I installed on my laptop and it will not let the rom upgrade utility find the phone.. it finds it when its plugged in a loads up the new " sync "..

it being beta the support is bound to be lacking
think it wise if one want to play with it
to dualboot with xp or another stable os
it may be possible if you run the upgrade exe in xp compatiblity mode, i will not reccomend that because vista is still in beta stage and the results of this may trash your device.
I'm trying to upgrade my HTC Wizard /windows mobile from OS 5.1.195 to something a little more up to date. It won't allow upgrade to 6.1. does WizardServiceTool still exist. The links I've found don't work. <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329170>

I'm a software developer and I'm trying to find emulator images of the OS that ships with the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael in South Africa.
One of our clients is experiencing a problem running our software on his device. An error message pops up saying that our software was designed to run on a more recent compact framework than what he has installed. The target framework for our program is CF 3.5. I talked the customer through installing CF 3.5 on his device, but the error message persists. Following exactly the same steps, I experience no problems running our software on the emulator images in the following paragraph. This leads me to believe that there might be something odd in the particular build on the client's device.
He said that he hasn't done anything to his device with regards to upgrading or modifying his device apart from what I've talked him through. The specific build number of the OS on his device is 19965.1.2.3. I've downloaded the WM6.1 (build 19202.1.0.0) and 6.1.4 (build 20757.1.4.0) images from Microsoft, but I can't replicate the client's problem.
Where can I download images for build 19965.1.2.3? Do any of you have any other ideas of what might be causing this behavior?

It might be worth getting them to install the .Net Configuration utility. That will tell them which versions of the Compact Framework are installed (to confirm that 3.5 is installed properly), and they can specify which applications use which version.

Hi, I am having a weird issue with ervius kitchen 1.8.2 building for a cdma touch pro. I have set it up right I think, and I have no problem building a wm 6.1 rom. However when I build a 6.5 rom the rom will boot ok, but I ma missing stuff. Like the link for powerexe.exe in the settings folder, and windows installer, usb connectivity and random apps mostly required system apps. I het no errors during the build, and with powerexe.exe the app is there, and will run if you use a file explorer and click on it.
Yet every thing works correctly in a 6.1 build. I even tried building a 6.5 rom using the 6.1 core, it booted ok but had the same things missing.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I notice that some files were deleted and now the device can´t work.
I need if it´s possible, the update for windows ce 5.0, maybe with the update i can restore the missing files.
Anyone can help me with a link or instructions to follow.
