[Q] NVFlash on a Linux VM - T-Mobile LG G2x

I'm running NVFlash on an Ubuntu 11.04 VM. Host is OSX and VMWare Fusion. NVFlash has been running for around ten minutes now. How long does it usually take?

Wrong section.

[rant]Your post is completely useless and doesn't help at all. Do you feel better knowing that you've only contributed to loading the servers with more useless spam? Thanks for the much needed input [/rant]
Anyways. Yes. Wrong section. But whatever, mistakes happen!
Just copy and pasting this from my NVFlash for windows guide:
the phone screen should say "S/W Upgrade - Please wait while upgrading...". You can let go of the volume buttons at this point. Once the files are sent and the program is finished running in the command window, you CAN just pull the USB cord or be safe and just wait a few extra minutes, however it will still say "upgrading."
Hope that helps!

Yeah....this is a productive post...lol
I just feel there is a misconception about development because folks ......its barely there
If it bothers you so much then i would learn android platform and start developing on your own rather than waiting for other people
I'm working on a ROM
I don't think we need more developers. What we need is less supporting devices so the developers will focus on specific devices instead of trying to make something work on 20 devices.

Not only is this thread as inane as my post but at least I'm not an idiot for demanding OTHER PEOPLE to put in their own hard work and effort into making a rom, not to mention time and support/request.
You sir are a tool, some things that you should do:
1. Buy an iPhone, because you're a tool
2. Make your own roms, doubt you have the mental capacity
3. Keep your thoughts private, makes you look smarter than you are
4. Go on a never ending journey to find the meaning of life, better than what you're doing now
5. Make a new thread as pointless as this one, I'd love to troll you more
6. Format your brain, then again you probably wouldn't know how
7. Learn to troll properly, I would suggest WoW or Runescape
Thanks in advance for your continued support and uselessness

Ah crap. I don't use Tapatalk, I thought you could report from thar... Not even from longpress?
I can't always respond to PM, and that really isn't a desirable method... reporting posts lets every mod know, PM's... well obviously that only notifies the one mod you PM'd.
I get enough PM's asking for help, my point is I don't want PM's on move this thread or that thread too .
Edit - crap indeed. Tapatalk does not have a way to report posts... but you can easily use Tapatalk to open a browser and report the post. I know, extra step... but it would be appreciated over a PM. Thanks guys (and gals )!

I don't have this option in the XDA app either, which AFAIK is just Tapatalk specialized for XDA... There's no "more" when I long press on a post. I get "Quote, Reply, Edit, View Author's Profile".
I think the only reason I have an edit option is I'm a mod .
I shall install plain jane Tapatalk hold please...
Edit - crap! There's no free ad-supported version of Tapatalk? I don't really want to pay $3 for something I'm not going to use . Perhaps I'll just take your word for it...
Edit 2 - not sure why it took me this long to realize, but we're really derailing this already bad thread . Sorry OP.... ya kinda posted a silly question tho, not sure how to answer it. It's not really a question at all, more of a statement.

I have tapatalk and use it more and more to browse XDA, I bounce back and forth between it and the XDA premium app, depending on if i'm browsing other forums as well or not.
I can confirm that a long press on a post pulls up a menu with a more option, and report is one of those more options in tapatalk.
Having to rely increasingly on my mobile device to browse here because working overtime for a bricklayer is kicking my ass, I can really appreciate the work done by you and other mods to keep the development section clean.
I don't get much time to swing through here right now, and what little I do get has me exhausted and worn out. Sifting through a ton of non-development bs to find the threads i'm trying to contribute to can use up a significant amount of the time I have to give.
Imagine how much more we'd all get done if developers didn't have to waste time - taking them from whatever projects they were working on - to notify mods about off topic clutter in the dev section. Then, of course, that mod is probably also developing something, or trying to help someone, so they have to walk away from their project or leave someone hanging to play housekeeper moving threads around.
Not all of us have a lot of time here, or have a job that puts us around a terminal with internet access. More people can contribute to development if that section is kept on focus.
So thank you, to the mods and others who keep things running right.

[Q] ICS ROMs on Charge

Since we can't use a ROM manager to flash, does anyone know of any of the developers having a "md5" file available to be flashed with Odin?
MD5 is just a hash used as to check data errors - basically to make sure you're not flashing an incomplete or corrupted file. I gather you're asking if there is an Android 4.0 based ROM that can be flashed on our phones? The answer is no. It's being worked on, but currently the best you can do is to make sure you're on the most up to date release for the Charge (EP4D) and then flash an ICS theme and then change launchers to ADW or Go Launcher and install an ICS theme for the launcher.
Thanks for the information. That's what I figured but I was trying to be optimistic. I am currently running Humble 5.0 and it has been great. I have the inability to stay stock and am looking forward to having ICS. Especially since I am so far out for an upgrade and don't have copious amounts of cash lying around to buy a Nexus out of contract. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Just keep in mind, "being worked on" means there is an attempt being made to get it booting. IF that happens (which is by no means a guarantee), there is still a lot of work to do to make it fully functional. I wouldn't expect to ever have ICS. If we do, that's awesome. Just don't expect it.

Well hello there, new user who rushed into not only using the xda forums, but also downloading the XDA app and posting without reading the rules!
I believe you are going to be extremely happy with what I have to offer. You see, unlike the above post who just told you to read the rules -although in an indirect way, I'm going to be more helpful and give you the link so you don't have to bother searching!
There it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=530
Now you have to be extremely careful with the following process: anything you do wrong may result in permanent and irreversible damage.
First of all, make sure your mouse is plugged. If not, plug it in. You might need to install drivers. Next, hover your mouse cursor (that little pointer like object on your screen) over the link I just posted above (should be in orange text). As soon as the pointer turns into a hand of some sort, RELEASE YOUR MOUSE STRAIGHT AWAY. This is crucial. Now all you have to do is to click (use the left click button!), and read the rules!
Was that so hard? I most certainly hope not
I also think I should remind you -in a very friendly way- that you have already read and agreed upon these rules. Or should have. Now imagine the cure for all diseases was written in there. You wouldn't want to miss that, huh? I don't think so. So next time, please take a minute of your -certainly precious- time reading the ****ing rules before clicking on that shiny "New Thread" button.

Boot Logo?

I know that the Devs are hard at work cooking up some new android goodness, can't wait to see some roms hit the floor. Thanks for the recovery and root method Shabby, must be some kind of record with the speed you accomplished this.
I have attempted to apply my rather limited skill set to the boot logo, damn warning aggravates me every time I think about it. I figured it wouldn't hurt to get a thread started to discuss some possibilities as to how this might be changed.
I ran across this thread in the Atrix forum, i doubt it would be this easy, but was hoping for some input.
