[Q] Just ordered one of these...root question - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, the process seems pretty simple...much easier than htc inspire 4g, how recoverable are these devices? Hard to brick?

[Q] Droid X stuff on Milestone X

Hi I'm kinda of a novice to the whole ROMing and rooting world, but i do have experience in roming my old phone (htc hero) and my nook color, so im not a complete noob
I just got my upgrade from my little local provider, and i chose the milestone X i was curious if Droid X rooting methods and roms worked for this phone, in theory they should... they both are cdma, the only difference is one is on verizon. But i wanted some advice from all the XDA masters before i risked bricking my phone.

How good is this phone?

So I've been eyeing this phone for a while since I first heard about it but I don't have the money to just buy it right now. Ever since my first Android phone I've been a fan of HTC phones. I started off with the mytouch 3g 1.2 and then progress to the mytouch 4g. Now I'm considering the Sensation as my next phone but I'm not sure about it because I have yet to play with the phone in person.
My personal choice of dual core phones right now are either the Samsung Galaxy S II or the HTC Sensation and honestly I would rather have the Sensation because of the Notification LED and because I like HTC phones. However those aren't the only reasons I would choose the Sensation.
I was wondering what you guys thought of the phone? Is the phone worth it? Is there anything that's bad about the phone? What about good things?

There are plenty of threads like this already. I'm sure if you search through them you will find that because you asked this in a sensation forum most people are going to say yes the sensation is better. Htc's build quality is far better Imo. I would rather have the qhd screen instead of that super colorful screen that the gs2 has. It makes things look fake to me. Plus somebody just mentioned that CM7 is getting "sensational" =D

I had a Nexus One last year....
Got a G2X this year and HATED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.
I got this phone and the only complaints I have are: I don't like HTC Sense, and boot-loader is locked. I'd much rather have vanilla Android. Build quality is far superior to the other phones listed.
I have to say hat the Sensation is a very nice phone, especially compared to the g2x, which I traded for it. And I too, am a big fan of HTC phones. But I have to say that outta all of the HTC phones I've had... G1, MyTouch 3g, Nexus 1, HD2, and G2... the Sensation is both the best AND the worst out of them all. I actually use my G2 more than the Sensation. I'm only keeping it because like the HD2, I'm sure that later on down the line as development progresses it'll be an awesome device. But as of the time being, it really does nothing that I can't do on my G2.(.02ยข)

[Q] Possible to upgrade phone hardware? (CPU/RAM/etc)

Hi guys,
I own a HTC G2/Vision and a Samsung Sidekick 4g. The problem, if you could consider it one, is that the HTC has the internal speed and memory that I need, but the Sidekick has the body that I want. The phones are as close to the same size as you can get, and both feature a slide-out keyboard.
Does anyone know if it is at all possible to switch out individual chips like we used to be able to on old PDAs, or think it possible to completely gut the both of them and make a switch?

[Q] About to make the swich - need info urgently!

Hi guys!
I'm using a Motorola ATRIX at the moment. I've been offered an exchange with a HTC Sensation 4G.
I've had HTC devices before, the last of them being the EVO 3D. Now... let's get to work.
I hear the only difference between the Sensation and the 4G one is that the 4G version has tri-band 3G (and possible 4G support in the future - I'm not sure & I hardly give a damn). But I take the bootloader, radio and firmware HAVE GOT to be a bit different...
Can anybody shed some light on this? Would the same Sensation radios work on the Sensation 4G? Would the same ROM's that work on the Sensation work on the Sensation 4G, as well?
-----
Oh, the tri-band 3G isn't really something I need. I live in Romania, and dual-band 3G has been enough so far... so if I were to lose tri-band 3G support in non-Sensation 4G ROMs, I wouldn't complain...
-----
Another issue I want to know about is the notorious death grip. I play games that require internet connection (Pocket/Star/Dark Legends, you may know them), so... landscape mode + Wi-Fi = no Internet, lol.
-----
And last thing... Did ICS fix/improve anything on this death rip? Also, perhaps some of you guys bought a case to protect your phone (I know I do - MOMAX iCase Pro, they rock)...?
Well 4g just depends on your networks and where you live. If its the USA and you are on tmobile you'll be able to pick up 4g but I have no idea how long it will take for 4g to spread worldwide.
As for the death grip, you just kind of get used to it and you can still hold it on landscape but just in a slightly different way. Ics would never be able to fix death grip I believe because it is a hardware issue.
There are quite a few good cases out but it's not a Samsung, it won't break easily. Also you can buy a white housing cover for the phone which just makes it look amazing.

Makes sense.
When I had the HTC Desire, I remember how I had to hold the phone with my left hand in order to play Pocket Legends... it wasn't comfortable at all but still doable, lol.
How about the bootloader/radio/ROM part? Or I shouldn't worry about that at all?
Are you going to be rooting your device? If so they have some wonderful information here on that. If not, no to answer your question, those things are involved in rooting. But if you are look at the thread that will explain about that. It will help you understand that process
I think you will be very happy with your sensation! I know I love mine! Good luck to you! Enjoy your new device!

You don't say
If I weren't to root my Android and install a custom ROM every once every two weeks or so, I would've be a retard and bought the shiPhone instead.
I thought the Sensation 4G and Sensation have different drivers etc. (like the EVO 3D - GSM and CDMA). Turns out I was wrong (made some extensive research). It's not necessary anymore, the Sensation that guy had wasn't 4G - dumbass, Vodafone ain't selling 4G units, lol.
This guy's phone had loads of dust under the screen (he advertised it as being barely visible - NOT effing true). You know how a supernovae looks like? Cut it in half and put it in the middle of the screen; each half on each edge on the screen. Spraying dust much? Stupid bas..... got my hopes high.
I also tried to hold the phone in specific ways to test the death grip... It was definetly there, even with 3 different cases on, and I definetly hated it with my guts. Looks like I'm sticking to my ATRIX

If you wanted to ignore the death grip a case is the worst thing you can do. Ever.
It will constantly weaken your signal.
Sorry to hear about the dust, sellers should always be honest

[Q] HOX notorious screen problem - works while charging

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, so I hope I'm posting this at the right place.
I have a problem with my HOX, like many others (for as far as I've read) I got a problem with a blackscreen/weird resolution etc.
When i plug my phone onto my charger/PC it somehow works without the slightest problem.
Now I'm no hardware expert on this but I guess there something wrong with either the motherboard or the battery, maybe just a simple connection between the both.
I've contacted HTC and they turned down my request because there is a crack in my screen, making the warranty invalid. So I can't send it for repair (I can, for about 300+ euros....). I'm considering to disassemble the whole device and replacing some parts.
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with this problem OR if you got any tips on testing hardware for artifacts/replacing motherboard in a HOX??
Kind regards,
Stijn
Firstly, do you have the HTC One X (Endeavoru) or the HTC One XL / at&t One X (Evita)? You're currently in the Evita forum so if you have the Endeavoru you need to ask in the HTC One X forum.
